    Citrus Brined Grilled Pork Porterhouse
    Claudia B.

We were so excited to learn that when staying at the Stowe Village Inn, their restaurant, Grant's, would be open and available to us for dining. We thought they'd be closed when we were staying, but we were happily wrong, so we had the pleasure of eating some great food for dinner. Plus, as a hotel guest, they gave us a coupon for a free appetizer, which we used and enjoyed !! For the appetizer, we chose (and shared) the pan-seared crab cakes that came with charred corn succotash, sliced apple and fennel micro salad, cara cara orange and basil aioli. It was delicious. For our entrees, my husband chose the Citrus Brined Grilled Pork Porterhouse, which included smoked gouda polenta, chipotle, crispy artichokes, charred scallion & toasted pepitas salsa verde. I ordered the Roasted Statler Chicken, which came with Saffron risotto, romesco, charred broccolini, and lined with a slight amount of chili oil. We also ordered a side of mashed potatoes infused with Cabot Creamery cheddar cheese, as well as some broccolini. All our food was delicious, especially those cheesy mashed potatoes, but unfortunately, we couldn't eat all our food, and nor could we save it. Boo-hoo. We both would've had enough left over for a second meal. Easily. I hate wasting food. There was no way we had room for dessert, so our meal ended with very full tummies and the enjoyment of well prepared entrees. There is a bit of historic significance to this restaurant. There is a reason it's called Grant's. The wrap around wooden bar top supposedly was restored from Harlem, New York where President Ulysses S. Grant MAY HAVE sat, drank and possibly smoked cigars. There are still old cigar burns left in the wood ! Regardless if it's legend or fact, it's a beautiful bar sitting in this fine restaurant. Go find out for yourself !

Beautiful spot at the edge of town and Little River. Views of the town church and hills in the background are superb as is the food! We got the ribeye and filet mignon and they were gone in seconds. Happy to see they don't just over salt their steaks. Desserts were always delicious. Will return and try to book at the inn for my stay

My first time visiting. Great food! Atmosphere was lovely, live music. The place was crowded and we made reservations. The service was great as well. The dishes were beautifully plated and tasted amazing-Jerk Chicken was so good and spicy, the Salmon was fantastic, the pasta was delicious and the mussels had an amazing sauce. Definitely will be back and recommend.

Great dining experience here on a girls trip. The food was so delicious and service was also great from the very nice hostess to the wait staff. Standouts from our meals include the shrimp fritters, poutine, pork chops, salmon, chicken, mashed potatoes and filet mignon. We literally loved everything we ate here. Highly recommend this place for dinner!

Whether you're a guest at the hotel or staying nearby this restaurant and bar is a great bet!! Full bar and good selection of beer and wine. The bar top was brought in and restored from Harlem and has fabulous history. (look for old cigar burns....president Grant himself may have sat there.) Food: Great food, small menu that changes seasonally. Poutine is great to start with ! Great views from the restaurant of the hills, perfect place to relax and eat after a long day skiing. The staff is lovely and very helpful. Will be back for sure.

The fam & I finally stopped after driving past hundreds of times and loooved it! The crab cakes were insane, perfectly crispy with very little breading. The filet & salmon equally as amazing. We sat inside, but there were probably 8-10 tables outside and it started pouring, the staff handled it great, bringing everyone in without disrupting those dining inside. The staff was super chill, yet professional! My only grips is that I'd like to see a larger wine list.

Delicious food, excellent service. I hate that yelp makes you write an 85 word review to post.

The food was outstanding! We had mussels and hamachi crudo. Both were fresh and delicious. Service was inattentive.

Loved the poutine, gravy was really good. Good cocktail! Also, loved the salmon. My guest said stuffed fish was decent.

We waited about 15 minutes for a table. Not bad at all!! Our server was energetic and accommodating. She cheerfully answered all our questions and honored our request to get a margherita pizza as an appetizer. The aforementioned pizza arrived in no time. It was good. Not the best ever, but still quite solid. The star of the culinary show was the salmon entree. Both my wife and I got it and we both loved it. It was a big piece of wood fired salmon and came with a nice assortment of roasted veggies. I'm talking real veggies--zucchini, broccoli, fingerling potatoes, the works. Neither one of us are big drinkers, but there are LOTS of microbrews on tap if you're into that kind of thing. The dining room was lively without being too noisy. Both of us enjoyed hanging out there. It would be a great place to have a beer and watch baseball on TV. Will definitely return the next time I'm in town.

Let me cut to the chase: get the steak frites or anything else with the chimichurri. It's going to…read morechange your life and you can go ahead and thank me later. The poutine was very good, but I'll grant you that it's maybe hard to get that wrong - but their gravy is on point! Service was great - got there around 5:40pm on a Wednesday, so the wait was non-existent and a table for 5 was easy to accommodate. Duncan was the server, who disclosed that he was new but you wouldn't know it from how he took orders and brought food out. Even threw him a curve by asking for the steak frites with an additional side of brussel sprouts, which he handled no problem - even though there weren't any sides I saw on the menu. Steak was medium rare and perfectly seasoned, and I think I mentioned the chimichurri but it deserves additional mention. Maybe you're wondering about beverages. The maple lemonade is great - it leans harder on the tart side and there are sweeter options around (Cliff House) but I love a lemonade that tastes... lemony. Pineapple cherry punch was also a hit - but that's secondhand hearsay, unlike my direct opinion on the chimichurri - which I would drink if I could. Definitely check this place out. The table near ours seemed to immensely enjoy their meal and also get great service from Duncan.
