We had such a lovely time!! Parking was easy and the interior was cozy! We sat by a large window and it was so lovely seeing the sky changing colors as the sun went down! We tried a bunch of different things but I only took these two photos...the burger was delicious, fries crispy. We even ordered the mashed potato and it was one of the smoothest mashed potatoes we've ever had. If you wanna go potato loco, try the poutine dipped into mashed potatoes haha The chicken was GORGEOUS and you had half of a chicken!! Trout was good, not dry! Our favorite app was the Brussels sprouts. It was crispy, sweet, savory, and delicious! Our waitress was very lovely and checked in on us several times without being overbearing! One hiccup was that when I walked in and said my party's name the front of the house was very confused and I had to have someone come fetch me/ vouch for me...otherwise it was great! read more

My wife and I LOVED this place! We were in Stowe for four nights and we ate dinner here twice. I had the roasted chicken both nights. The first night, the half chicken was ENORMOUS and delicious. The second night it was just big, but equally delicious. My wife had the kale salad and loved it. The dining room is beautiful with big glass windows overlooking a green forest. The patio is festive, with a fire pit and cool mountain breezes. All the staff were warm and welcoming. Everyone was super enthusiastic which made a great experience even better. We were so excited to learn that when staying at the Stowe Village Inn, their restaurant, Grant's, would be open and available to us for dining. We thought they'd be closed when we were staying, but we were happily wrong, so we had the pleasure of eating some great food for dinner. Plus, as a hotel guest, they gave us a coupon for a free appetizer, which we used and enjoyed !! For the appetizer, we chose (and shared) the pan-seared crab cakes that came with charred corn succotash, sliced apple and fennel micro salad, cara cara orange and basil aioli. It was delicious. For our entrees, my husband chose the Citrus Brined Grilled Pork Porterhouse, which included smoked gouda polenta, chipotle, crispy artichokes, charred scallion & toasted pepitas salsa verde. I ordered the Roasted Statler Chicken, which came with Saffron risotto, romesco, charred broccolini, and lined with a slight amount of chili oil. We also ordered a side of mashed potatoes infused with Cabot Creamery cheddar cheese, as well as some broccolini. All our food was delicious, especially those cheesy mashed potatoes, but unfortunately, we couldn't eat all our food, and nor could we save it. Boo-hoo. We both would've had enough left over for a second meal. Easily. I hate wasting food. There was no way we had room for dessert, so our meal ended with very full tummies and the enjoyment of well prepared entrees. There is a bit of historic significance to this restaurant. There is a reason it's called Grant's. The wrap around wooden bar top supposedly was restored from Harlem, New York where President Ulysses S. Grant MAY HAVE sat, drank and possibly smoked cigars. There are still old cigar burns left in the wood ! Regardless if it's legend or fact, it's a beautiful bar sitting in this fine restaurant. Go find out for yourself ! read more

Beautiful spot at the edge of town and Little River. Views of the town church and hills in the background are superb as is the food! We got the ribeye and filet mignon and they were gone in seconds. Whether you're a guest at the hotel or staying nearby this restaurant and bar is a great bet!! Full bar and good selection of beer and wine. The bar top was brought in and restored from Harlem and has fabulous history. (look for old cigar burns....president Grant himself may have sat there.) Food: Great food, small menu that changes seasonally. Poutine is great to start with ! Great views from the restaurant of the hills, perfect place to relax and eat after a long day skiing. The staff is lovely and very helpful. Will be back for sure. read more

I came here for dinner last night with my boyfriend and had a great meal! We started with the tuna tataki appetizer, which was a special for the night, and the apples and radicchio salad! The tuna was a standout for sure, but the salad was also so fresh and delicious. For our main, we shared the burger. It was good, but nothing to write home about. Sadly they were out of the two desserts we were interested in ordering, so we ended our meal there, but the service was great and vibe was very cozy! read more

The fam & I finally stopped after driving past hundreds of times and loooved it! The crab cakes were insane, perfectly crispy with very little breading. The filet & salmon equally as amazing. We sat inside, but there were probably 8-10 tables outside and it started pouring, the staff handled it great, bringing everyone in without disrupting those dining inside. Absolutely incredible. A MUST if you're in the Stowe area. Above and beyond service (Jake was our waiter and so attentive, kind, and friendly) and food came out fast and delicious. The ambiance was delightful and the food was TO DIE FOR. The filet mignon was melt in your mouth delicious. I had a Hugo spritz and as a Hugo spritz aficionado I can actually say this was the most fantastic Hugo spritz I've ever had! We finished with homemade raspberry cheesecake which was so delicious, it was evident it was made in house. I cannot recommend this restaurant more. read more

Grant's was the best place we ate at in Stowe. It was our last night and the weather was unseasonably warm and it was a beautiful evening so we sat on their outdoor deck. Patrick was our fantastic server, very kind and patient. We ordered a bottle of wine while we tried to decide what to order as there were many dishes that looked good. I ended up ordering the chicken, mostly because Patrick said it was his favorite. It was a leg and a thigh and it was served with apple, butternut squash and farro, I believe. It was outstanding! The dish was full of flavor, the chicken was moist and tender and gave me all the fall feels. My husband had the pork chop which he absolutely loved. The portions were generous and we both cleaned our plates! I just wish we had gone to Grant's the first night so we could have gone more than once! read more

Visiting from California, we had an awesome time at Grant's last Sunday. The staff made us feel so welcome and we really enjoyed talking with them and sharing dog stories. Sat in the bar at a high top overlooking the whole restaurant and out the windows at the town of Stowe and the twinkle lights on the trees. The food was delicious. Overpaid for steak (veggies not included), the filet mignon (tiniest piece ever for $54) and overcooked salmon. Bread was like a rock, served w/ a tiny slab of butterish something for $9 dropped on a white cold plate. Soup was cold. Drinks were no better. Martini more vermouth than vodka, served in a wine glass halfway with one olive not chilled. Kudos to the bus folks--yet when you are charging those kind of prices, you don't ask to grab a plate when others are not finished. More is not always better but higher prices do command higher expectations from customers. How about a tablecloth? Or cleaner table? There is something out of alignment at this restaurant as the potential seems to be there. A sad experience for us as was hoping we could celebrate with a nice dinner. read more
