I love this place. (I don't get the one reviewer's comment about it being a racist name thou). Bright, clean space with plenty of quiet nooks to stretch out in both the fabulous restaurant area and marketplace. The employees are always courteous, fast...the way service is supposed to be. The market has great sandwiches, soups, goodies, and all of it's very artistically prepared and offset creatively by the many decorative touches. Their food and coffee is the best in town. Their dishes have inspired me to go home and try my hand at Curried Lentil Salad, black bean salad, and others... One of the places I miss the most about NH. The food is simply delicious, creative stuff. Whether you sit in the dining room or get lunch and snacks to go from the cafe/grocery part, you will not be disappointed. Seafood crepes, chicken salad, basket full of muffins and sweet bread with brunch, UNBELIEVABLE PUMPKIN COOKIES in the fall... lemon blueberry cake, raspberry scones, vegetarian chili... I have heard about this place from several friends regarding the bakery items sold. This week a friend brought me a blueberry scone from the cafe and I realized I needed to go there sooner than later. Today we tried lunch and I started with a homemade lemonade with a lavender syrup. It was so light and refreshing and not over powering. For lunch I had the seafood crepes and my husband had the turkey sandwich. The crepes were a perfect portion and a nice presentation. There was a decent amount of seafood with a rich creamy sauce that was delightful. The turkey sandwich was large and had so many wonderful flavors on your palette. The turkey was hand carved and the black bean and guacamole added so much to the dish. A side salad of veggies and grain was served which was delicious. Naturally after lunch we went to the bakery for dessert. It was beyond difficult to choose but I decided on a snicker doodle cookie. It was so moist and just perfect!! My husband had the brownie which appeared to consist of three layers that he refused to share. He moaned as he ate it so it must have been amazing. We will be back! The restaurant is very clean and the employees were all polite and helpful. I suggest putting this place on your list to try despite the location which is not in a populated area. The food straddles that middle area, being interesting and tasty without going overboard in either price or strangeness without purpose. This place has great food at great prices. Most recently, I had their Mediterranean falafel salad. I didn't care for the roasted beet hummus on the salad, it just wasn't my thing, but overall the salad was delicious. Both my husband and I have never had a bad experience and have always enjoyed the flavor combinations. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the food. Our bill is usually the same as eating out at a chain restaurant. And who wants a chain restaurant when you can get quality food for about the same price?! Their wait staff is great also. They are very friendly and helpful. We had Darci T as our waitress this last time and I had questions on their menu since it was the new summer menu. She didn't seem upset by my asking questions but seemed happy to talk about the food. She was very polite and did not interrupt us while we were eating or talking. She only came over a few times during our entire time there, and I appreciated that. I do not like to be bothered multiple times during the meal. We are moving soon and I'm sad since that means we will not be able to eat here often enough. read more

So far I've eaten in the restaurant and had some baked goods. They have a decent soy chai latte, and their gluten free raspberry cheesecake I bought for Easter dessert was very good. I really like the upstairs wireless area they have now (must be over 16). The reviews we read on Yelp did not lead us astray. We ventured to this spot for Sunday brunch and found a simple, but well rounded menu. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. We were also pleasantly surprised by the basket of baked goods that everyone receives before their meal. i have tried the restaurant and the bakery a few times. I found the meal choices limited and beverages even more limiting. I do not drink tea or coffee and prefer bottled water to local water, and they do not serve soda. The food is ok but overpriced and not enough of it. While I will admit the bakery items are delicious, the pricing is ridiculous. Just a slice of quiche (very small) and a cookie was more than I would pay for a sit down lunch with service! I love this bakery. I do feel that their cakes are drier now, especially their shop by Macys. I spent nearly a hundred dollars on cupcakes from them, and found a lot of them so dry they required a lot of coffee to consume. I was a bit embarassed, they tasted like they were days old and not fresh. For the hefty prices, I expected better. The frostings and fillings are divine, and the individual cheesecakes are yummy. Each visit was memorable because the food is truly "to die for", from the bread to the dessert. We were fortunate to eat there yesterday for a late lunch. I ordered the Autumn Harvest Pasta and hubby had the New England Grilled Cheese (with apple chutney). The flavors were so superb--I wanted to hug the chef! And my Dutch Apple Pie was the best I have ever eaten. True, the decor is uninspired. But it is clean and our service has always been quick and friendly.
