Came here for $2 oysters (all day Monday!) and left satisfied with the oysters and other dishes. Oysters: This was a 5/5 experience. The oyster quality was great and prepared well (very clean). They had the classic lemon, cocktail sauce and horseradish plus 2 additional sauce that tasted like mild hot sauce and vinaigrette. Crab rangoon grilled cheese: This was an interesting combo so we decided to try it out. It was surprisingly tasty and we enjoyed the sweet duck sauce (hint of pineapple) that came with it. We came here just for dessert, and the $1 oysters daily before 5pm sign definitely caught my interest. I checked out their menu on Yelp, and was happy that they had 6 or 7 different dessert options on the menu. We came in and it was packed, but they made a nice space for us to indulge in dessert. We were seated next to the window and the heaters which I was so grateful for, and it was a beautiful view of the street. Brittany was our server, and she was great. She informed us that there were only two dessert options, or vanilla ice cream. I was slightly disappointed because we only came here for dessert and that's not what was advertised, but it didn't last long. We ordered both desserts (shown in pics), as well as a glass of wine and an espresso martini. The Chocotorta is made with chocolate wafer cookies, coffee and dulce de leche, and their Cheesecake is made with strawberry-rhubarb compote and amaretti crust. They were both delicious, but I'd be more likely to check this place out for dinner rather than just dessert. I had one of my favorite espresso martinis, and was very pleased. Our table wasn't ready when we had a reservation, which was completely fine, but the hostess told us to go to the bar. After standing for 20 min, seats opened up and I grabbed some. Great location - super walkable and the staff all wear masks all the time which is great!! The menu is online so no need to get anything dirty! We went for brunch and they don't have a ton of traditional items but they have yummy Parker Rolls...with pimento cheese!!! Their Greek breakfast is HUGE! Do you like Haloumni...if so, hey this!!! Their drinks were yummy - wish the Bloody Mary was a little spicier and full of some fun stuff - just celery, an olive, and lemon here. I have been here several times for brunch, dinner, or drinks and have always had a great experience. Cocktails are strong, menu is fresh and creative, and service is exceptional. I typically go for the seafood dishes but they are well known for their burger. The interior is well designed with attention to detail; I often notice touches I hadn't noticed before. A little sad the dollar oysters are now $2 oysters but considering they are available (at time of this review) all day Monday and until five every weekday that's a pretty enticing offer. It's a really great spot for Sunday brunch. We ordered 5 dozens of their $1 oysters. It was a tad small but still fresh! They offer many different condiments for your oysters. We came here for the dollar oysters! I love how they have dollar oysters everyday until 5pm and all day on Mondays! I do think their oysters were on the smaller side but they were fresh! We also got the delicata rings (it was so crispy! There were more onion rings than squash ones though), steak tartare (strong truffle flavor which I love!), and the lamb burger (they cut it in half for us bc they knew we were sharing which was so nice of them! Amazing $1 oyster experience, with sparkling wine and french fries, for a luxurious lunch. The waiter was impossibly friendly, explaining all of the different oyster options and helping me to choose. The fries were tasty and salty. The space is gorgeous, and the neighborhood is cute and nice to walk around in as well. I got the clam chowder in addition to the oysters and fries. The chowder was thin and bland-- almost like slightly salty milk. I didn't enjoy it, but felt validated when a patron sitting next to me tapped me on the shoulder and asked if I got the chowder, and if I found it as gross as he did. I recently discovered this place over a weekend brunch/lunch with some friends as they said the oysters are the things to go for here at Black Lamb. During a certain time, they have $1 oysters (and you can order up to 2 dozen at a time). Well amongst the four of us, we ordered 96 oysters during a Sunday afternoon. They were very flavorful and fresh (and obviously good value), which is why we kept going for more! We also shared the smoked salmon toast which was also very tasty. I've been meaning to come to Black Lamb for some time now but never got the chance until last last weekend. I was so excited especially for the one dollar oysters. I know that because it's just one dollar oysters they wouldn't be anything too special but I didn't expect them to be so small with barely anything on them. I was a bit disappointed with these oysters because I feel like I've definitely had dollar oysters that were much bigger and better. As for the other dishes we were able to try the cheddar and scallion Parker House rolls. These were probably the best things that we tried we loved the warm toasty bread with the butter that it came with. But to be honest this was the bread that I kind of expected to be complementary and are complementary at a bunch of other restaurants. We also tried the My big fat Greek breakfast which was anything but big. The potatoes were cooked interestingly and the lamb was tasty. The eggs were also nice and runny however overall this was definitely not a big dish. The cheese was just grilled which I wasn't a fan of. I also got to try the lemon poppyseed waffle which was actually very nice it had a very interesting refreshing taste to it and I will definitely come back for this again. Overall I would say that they had interesting dishes but I'm not quite sure it was worth the price point and I was especially disappointed with the oysters that we got. read more

Okay I've been here 3 times now and each time it's gotten better. I came here with my bf the first weekend it opened and as expected... I guess... (though quite disappointingly) it was pretty bad of an experience. I can't even remember what I had as the main entree.... Since then I've been back for brunch 2 more times and have had much better experiences. Their $1 oysters are a steal and quite good! Not the typical super briney low quality $1 oysters you may see at other places. The ones we recently had were Cold Bottoms from MA and they were so good! My fav brunch menu item has been the cheddar and scallion Parker house rolls - if you like savory bread this is a must have! If you like cheese, DEF add the pimento cheese dip. The cheeseburger was decent as well. The Shashuka is a hard pass for me (very small portion, average flavors), and I'm a huge fan of the Tatte lamb meatball shashuka instead. Crispy mushrooms were pretty good if that's your thing. Me, I LOVE mushrooms. What really gives them a great option is the service. Both of the last 2 times I've dined there were during the Covid pandemic. The waiter both times was incredibly nice, easy to talk to, not over-bearing, and respectful. I came here on a Monday night with a friend to take advantage of their $1 oysters. The place is fairly small, but the side mirror behind the bar makes the place appear bigger. We ended up getting a dozen oysters each and I also got the lamb burger. Their fryer machine wasn't working so unfortunately we didn't get any fries without the burgers and got a bag of salt and vinegar chips instead. The lamb burger was cooked nicely and my request for no onions was obligated. The oysters were from Duxbury and came in a variety of sizes some were smaller than others, but for $1 you can't really complain. The oysters were fresh and came with all the accompaniment of lemon and sauces in little bottles. Overall, the service was good and if I'm ever craving oysters again, I'd likely swing by again and hope that their fryer is working again. read more

Everything looked very nice. The service was definitely slow that night unfortunately and we were starving so it was a little bothersome at the beginning of the night however they were very busy so that could have been part of it. We ordered drinks to start which were very good. Then was got the bread rolls which were amazing, definitely would get them again. Next we ordered from the raw bar. The shrimp was probably not worth paying for but the oysters where great as well as the clams. For dinner I ordered the duck which was excellent, and my friend got the beef dish, I believe it was ribs. And she said it was excellent too. The lobster roll was full of flavor and definitely in the top three best lobster rolls I've had in Boston so far. Fries are a weakness of mine and I loved the fries at Black Lamb. They were just the right thickness. But by far the best dish of the night was the lamb tartare with eggplant, fig, and mint. Wow. It might have been the most interesting tartare I've ever had. I was super curious about the combo of ingredients (all so seemingly different from each other) in the tartare when I first saw it on the menu and I'm so happy I tried it.
