This is basically your only choice up here at A Basin, minus the restaurants below. Supply and demand would dedicate that they only had to be mediocre based on location alone. But - this place is good, really good. Surprisingly good and the service is awesome. Things to Note: 1) Beer 2) Slightly overpriced but you are on top of a mountain. $15 Burgers, $10 soups, $15 Salads 3) Outdoor Patio 4) Wifi 5) If you don't ski/board, you can get a $20 scenic lift ticket and this will give you a $15 food voucher. Must Dos: 1) Burger w/ waffles fries. 2) Bison Stew w/ cornbread 3) Huge Salads I was there when there was a lot of STL style Ribs and Brisket. Having lived in the Lou - I was like hell no. But I think I need to come back, forget the skiing - just eat and sit outside or Both.

Just go up one lift and you're here! It's a casual place with most people stopping during their ski runs for a quick bite or beer. The food portions are pretty good. We got the bison bread bowl and the pickled jalapeños were great. Only gave 3 stars because the rest of the bowl lacked a little flavor and first set of silverware we got was dirty. There is no table service.

Nice mid mountain spot. I believe their is something further up the mountain but it's a bathroom or warming hut. This has a full kitchen though so it's a good spot to rest or meet the homies. Clean bathrooms right when you enter on your left. Water fountain with cups. Small al la carte snack section. Coffee. Hot chocolate. Soups salads. Burgers. Pasta. Sandwiches on the menu. Desert too so you have your hot food to warm up. Full bar. Not as many taps as down the mountain. About four but IPA/Stout/Lager and a cheaper Coors or PBR option rotates. Few tall stools and tables. Long tables to eat leaving room for jackets and boots. Outdoor seating right by the Black Mountain Express. Racks outside for your skis or boards. Good place to take a break and eat.

Awesome BBQ Brisket Sandwich with massive sticky sweet potato fries.

We are long-time fans of Arapahoe Basin and it's lofty 12,050 ft summit. However, I must admit that I now come for the barbecue and stay for the skiing (and hiking in summer!) Black Mountain Lodge has some of the best house smoked BBQ brisket and pork in Colorado. A well kept secret culinary hideaway? Not for long!

Very good BBQ ribs because they have focused on smoking meats for a significant part of their menu. Wonderful location and views.

Best Pulled Pork sandwich I've ever had! The bloody mary's were also delicious and tall.

This tiny community of Silver Plume is so mesmerizing. From the historic mining legend/legacy to…read moresome chilling ghost stories, what this little town can boast about is so much more than its size. And to add to its unique beauty and charm, this provision stop is simply more than a mere everyday store. Supported by the town's residents and occasional visitors from the nearby communities, or people who are simply passing through on I-70, this place offers quality service to meticulously well-prepared soups, salads and sandwiches. Not only that, it's a souvenir shop and an antique shop. In a way, it's an everything shop!! The gentleman upfront greeted me with the most welcoming gesture and smile. While I was waiting for my turn, I thoroughly studied the menu so without a delay, I told him I would want the curried chicken salad (not the sub so without the bread). I then inquired about the several different types of insanely delicious-looking cookies displayed upfront in a round glass container. He this said, "Well, then let's talk about them!!" and immediately proceeded to lift the glass top to explain which one was which one by one. Since I like anything coffee, I went with the espresso cookie. The shop had a good number of guests at the time of my visit so my food took a bit longer and yet as the gentleman upfront told me that it would, this was anticipated. I had the whole afternoon so waiting was no problem. In 15 minutes or so, when my curried chicken salad was finally ready, he walked up to me with everything I ordered. He then said he had a little surprise gift for me. "Here is a complimentary little Valentine's Day gift for you!!" Awwww, what a nice gesture! To receive such love from a stranger was something I hadn't anticipated. This brightened my heart. Neighborly love was in the air for sure!!! Once I got to my car, I immediately opened the little gift. It was a chocolate-covered strawberry!! And in the white container, there was my curried chicken salad (two scoops of it). The portion seemed a bit small at the first glance and yet this was without the bread so this made sense. But what was most important was the quality of it. The curried chicken salad was impeccably delicious. Not overly done where the amount of curry and other ingredients were perfectly balanced with harmony. Not that I have had curried chicken salad many times in the past but this was by far the most satisfying curried chicken I've ever had. To go along with the rave about the salad, the espresso cookie was equally satisfying and impressive. The perfect amount of coffee taste along with the perfect amount of sweetness, the cookie was also flawless in every single aspect. The town of Silver Plume is so lucky to have this shop. Now I've got a question for you, Silver Plume Provisions, do you have any plans to open another location? If that ever happens, then please consider the Denver Tech Center (LOL!!)
