Clam Chowder after I devoured the lid and made a mess!
    Rick B.

Less crowded than the food choices st the bottom of the ski-slopes; this restaurant sits atop Lift 7. Grab your food (plenty of hot choices), pay, and sit anywhere you can find a table. Prices were average for ski-resort, but the Clam Chowder in Bread Bowl was a huge surprise! It was actually good; not just good for ravenous skiiers!

Hard to get cell aervice, but so nice to come in from the cold to warm up!! The barmen have always been patient and friendly. There are other options for food or bring your own lunch. Plenty of room to sit and meet family and even new friends!

30 minutes to get a pretzel even though advertised as less than 15 minutes. Unfriendly staff on top of that.

Walking in on a cold February day, the mood and ambiance were warm and inviting. The downstairs bar was lively, and the wood ceiling and decor definitely gave off a classic aged lodge feel. We were seated upstairs per our Yelp reservations. A collection of canteens hung on the wall, which sparked a fun conversation and history lesson for my twins. Since they're part of the CamelBak and Stanley cup generation, they hadn't seen anything like them before. My son was impressed by the size of the kids' burger, and the fries were great. The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. The showstopper was the upside-down apple pie with what seemed to be homemade vanilla ice cream. Both were generous portions and kindly comped by our server for my birthday. I ordered my standard Ranch Water, though it unfortunately didn't come in their traditional canteen cup. Overall, it's a great spot. I look forward to visiting again on our next trip to Colorado.

It was Spring Break in…read moreBreckenridge and everywhere was packed--Eric's Restaurant had a 2-hour wait--so when Bird and Cow showed a 10-minute wait for our party of five (including a very hungry 17-year-old), we added ourselves immediately. When we arrived, there was a medical situation with a guest, and an ambulance came to assist. Obviously, that takes priority, and we were patient and understanding. However, after the situation cleared, we continued waiting another 20 minutes. During that time, several groups who arrived after us were seated first. When I politely asked the host about our status, I was told those groups were seated because they were smaller parties. That didn't appear to be accurate, and when I mentioned that, the response quickly became rude and dismissive. At that point, we decided there was no reason to stay and left for dinner elsewhere. The next day, we ate at Tin Plate Pizza--fantastic food and excellent service. Ironically, while walking past Bird and Cow afterward, we noticed their kitchen area through an open back door, and it did not appear clean or well-kept. In hindsight, we're glad things worked out the way they did--but overall, this was a frustrating experience driven by inaccurate wait times and poor customer service.

Was greeted promptly upon entering and directed to the bar to place a to go order. I had limited time because had to catch a bus. The ambiance was fun with TV screens around to watch various sporting events. I was watching A&M get beat by Miami while waiting for my food order to be prepared. They have the silver brewery tanks where they brew their beer on site behind the bar area. They had a bunch of unique brews but I am not a beer person. I found a seat at the bar and the bartender came to take my order. I mentioned that I was on a time crunch with having to catch the bus in approximately 35 minutes and just wanted to check to see if the kitchen could accommodate my schedule. I was a bit taken aback when he responded that he couldn't guarantee anything and the electricity could go out.... So I was going to pass on ordering, but then he said we better get my order in then. So I put in an order for fish and chips. Then he said the kitchen should not have a problem accommodating that time window. He brought me some water and I enjoyed watching the football game while I waited for my to-go order. The food was ready in plenty of time for me to make it to the bus stop. It was packed nicely and came in a paper bag. I was able to enjoy it at the bus stop. Fish and Chips with Avalanche Ale battered white fish, fries, tartar. The fish has a nice batter but was a bit bland and could have used more salt or other seasoning. It really needed the tartar sauce to complete the flavor profile. The fries were light and crispy. Overall the food was what I would expect from a brewery. Nice place to go in breck to enjoy beer and food while watching a sporting event.

There were limited things on the menu available, so much so I ended up having a White Russian, Laura had tea, and Ben only ordered 1 beer. One item that we really were looking forward to was their Elk burger but it was no longer on the menu, or at least not at this location. Oddly enough, the table next to us had a father/son come in together and they were also looking for the Elk burger and when they learned it wasn't available, just got up and left. I am going to suggest that if it was a permanent removal that they put it back on the menu. There isn't much parking in their lot, maybe 8-10 spaces so walking from the parking areas is most likely you're only chance as the areas around this brewery are homes. We still like their beers but will try other locations or go back to the Littleton location.

First things first -- the views. Huge windows looking out toward the slopes and mountains make it feel like you're sitting inside a snow globe with a drink in hand. Cozy lodge vibes, warm lighting, and that perfect après-ski energy even if you didn't touch a pair of skis all day. I went straight for the beef stew, and it was exactly what the moment called for. Rich, hearty, slow-cooked flavor with tender beef, vegetables, and that deep savory broth that basically warms you from the inside out. If you're cold from the mountain air, this bowl fixes everything. The beverages were flowing, and the bar is a great place to park for a bit and soak up the scenery. Big shoutout to Alec the bartender -- awesome hospitality, friendly, attentive, and the kind of bartender who makes you feel like you've been coming there for years even if it's your first visit.
