The male hostess was friendly. We ordered and was seated immediately after. The setting was nice. There's huge panoramic windows that view out into the courtyard or ice skating ring area in the winter. We ordered from the waitress, whom was nice, but she never came back to check on us after she served us our food. The food was horrible. I ordered the pancakes and bacon. The bacon was hard, stale, and dry as if it had been reheated several times. My pancakes were crunchy and tasted like sour milk. The mixed fruit cup was the best part of the breakfast. Date of visit: February 14, 2025 While staying at the resort on a snowy Valentine's Day, my friend wanted to venture out but I wasn't all that hungry or interested in battling the weather and opted for a night inside instead, but maybe he was right. We did not have a reservation and Brian the host was both accommodating and extremely frazzled. It seemed like the restaurant was a bit understaffed but I couldn't tell from all of the staff roaming around the restaurant and bar area. Our server was Michael from KCMO who was nice enough when we actually saw him, he did not make many appearances during our time at Bighorn, sadly. They had a piano player who was fine enough, but I actually preferred it when he wasn't playing as it just made it easier to talk . Had there been an option, I would have preferred something further from the piano, but given the lack of reservation I was not going to protest! Not being super hungry I went with a soup and salad. The soup sounded wonderful: Sweet Potato Bisque. It was not wonderful. It didn't really taste like sweet potatoes and once the crispy coconut topping was gone, so was the magic. However the Caesar salad was quite good; had I known this I would have just gone with a dinner version of this and called it a night! read more

We were tired from skiing so decided to go to the hotel restaurant and order simple food - salads for all. A big bug crawled out of my salad after 1 bite and the chef tried to say the bug wasn't there when he made it. The waiter was embarrassed and tried to do what he could to fix it but we were all disgusted. This was indoor and we were the only guests there. I had to request the manager to come out and speak to me. He didn't voluntarily come out and didn't take responsibility. Would not go there again. We heard they've gone through 4 chefs in 5 months. Visted the Bighorn Bistro the other night and had such a wonderful experience. My dinner was absolutely delicious. I had the ribeye and when I cut into it, my steak was cooked to perfection. It was tender, juicy and something I would recommend and definitely order again. The service was also outstanding. My family and I were greeted immediately, coming down the stairs by the host with such welcoming energy. Our server Filemon was also great. He recommended the "stuffed chicken" and the ribeye...which I was both torn between, but my dad got the chicken and said it was perfect. 10/10 would recommend and I will be coming back here to eat next ski season. read more

This bistro is inside keystone lodge and resort. I give the service a 10/10 and the food came out quickly! I was disappointed in the size of the menu, and lack of vegetarian options here. I would love to see at the very least a vegan burger option or something other than a salad. The food I did have was super tasty though! I ordered the beet and goat cheese flatbread and I was in love with how creamy the goat cheese base was. It was a little light on beets, but the balsamic and raspberry dressings were very flavorful! Prices were that of a resort restaurant and ran a little high of course, but you're paying for the convenience. But- If you're in a rush or lacking a vehicle/ looking for convenience this is a great option with well thought out dishes! read more

Only had time for a quick drink, but what a location! There's a nice bar and ample seating with Covid. The entire atmosphere is very rustic, and has a lot of fine dining options. There's a variety of entrees to choose, and several fun drinks to order too! I got the Grandmas' Spiked Hot Chocolate, a tasty blend of whisky and winter. I'll definitely be going back soon to try more food. I do wish they had more options for vegetarians besides a $25 Red Curry, but at least they are trying. read more

Came here while on our annual girls weekend based on the Yelp reviews. We were in town on the last night of ski season so it was pretty slow, which was nice because we got an excellent table. The views make this place. Our service was great for the most part. Harrison was very attentive until the end when he disappeared after bringing us to go boxes, but not our check. We ordered calamari to start, the lobster mac, mushroom ravioli, and the scallops. The calamari was cooked perfectly. Could have done without the green beans, but the one person who likes them said they were cooked perfectly as well. Crispy and fresh. The lobster mac is their most popular dish. The lobster was cooked perfectly but overall I felt it lacked depth of flavor. The scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. I could have eaten them all to myself. I wasn't a fan of the rice cakes though, very sweet. The mushroom ravioli was delicious. I could have eaten them all to myself as well. My only complaint here would be the béchamel sauce lacked flavor. Likely, they use the same sauce in the lobster mac and could do with sprucing that up. If you take the shuttle, you should be fine finding the location. I struggled a bit with driving here and finding it, but not too bad. It is inside the resort, so walk-in the front door and there are signs everywhere. Beautiful ambience right away. The restaurant overlooks keystone lake and it's very romantic and relaxing in the dining area. The bathrooms are at the top of the stairs, which is kind of inconvenient, but not the worst. Our server was very helpful and sweet and helped me decide on the peach salad. I understand that this location is in a resort area, but I feel like the food prices are a bit extreme for what you are getting. Don't get me wrong my salad was delicious, and I crushed it. But it wasn't worth $18 in my opinion. The peaches were so good, the dressing was light and flavorful and the chicken was tender. And my wine choice was delicious as well, Cabernet I would definitely come back, for the experience. And if you are in the area, this is a nice fancier place to have a sit down dinner. read more

The food was honestly almost inedible. I ordered a Caesar salad with steak. The caesar dressing tasted horrible - it was oddly spicy and left a strange after taste. My husband had the salmon cakes and the flavors were a terrible mix. We did not but we were hotel guests and right away, she rolls her eyes and says "uhhh, well...the manager should be right over." The manager then walks up and asks if we have reservations and I tell her no. Like a movie, she also gets snooty and says there is a wait and it's better if we make reservations which the next available is not til over an hour later. I tell her that was fine since we are staying at the hotel. Even when she is done booking our reservation, she doesn't even close with "great, see you at 8:15." She doesn't say anything to us and so I proceed to ask her if we are good and she's like "yup". Wtf?! Ok... We decided to dine even though we had such a crappy first impression experience but dinner wasn't any better. The food was disgusting. We had the goat cheese appetizer, the salmon and bacon chowder and the lobster Mac and cheese. The only thing I probably was ok eating was the goat cheese. Everything else was disappointing. Service was also disappointing. Our bill was around $50. I wish we never came back to dine after being treated the way we were treated at the hostess stand. read more

My Hubby and I first ate here 38 years ago while on our honeymoon in Colorado, and we continue to come back. In my opinion, Big Horn has the best prime rib in the world! Just thinking about it makes my mouth water. They are available until the restaurant runs out of them, which has happened to us. Excellent menu, ambiance, and service, and the views of the mountains are stunning. Big Horn used to be open during off-season but I think currently they are just opened during ski season. if you ever find your way to The Keystone Resort or even in the area, call for a reservation and treat yourself to the prime rib. My family was in town for a ski trip and we were looking for a place that was open apres ski since we were starved. I found Bighorn Bistro and was very pleased by the staff, the drinks, and the food. The ambiance was relaxed (sports bar) on one side and classy (sit down dinner) on the other side. We stayed by the bar and watched sports on TV. We ordered chicken wings, steak and frites, and lobster mac and cheese. We loved the blood orange margarita. We were so happy with this joint that we decided to come back for another meal. My husband and I both ordered the steak and frites this time. It was perfectly cooked and the chimichurri sauce that came with it was the best complement to the meal. First off, the food is pricey. Pricey isn't a problem with me as long as the food is fantastic. Well, the food was disappointing. I wished I snapped a picture of the menu because I don't remember the names of the entrees. The restaurant's ambiance is calm, clean and comfortable. The waitress was polite and well-mannered. Also, the restrooms were clean. Appetizer: Mussels and hummus. Both tasted excellent. Entrees: Steak and fries, lobster mac and cheese, and some shrimp pasta. Kids meals: Mac and cheese, chicken tenders. The lobster Mac and cheese was not really impressive and didn't satisfy the taste buds. Also, the Shrimp pasta was not enjoyable and a major disappointment. This disappointment was shared by my table mates. Therefore, I shared my steak with my table mates and everyone immediately chose it to be the best dish on the table. Sadly, the delicious steak was plated with only some ordinary fries and a single grilled tomato which lowered the satisfaction of this dish. The second best dish was the Kid Mac and Cheese... Atmosphere is warm and welcoming with a big fireplace and horn chandelier. Made reservations for a window seat and paid the additional $20. I would say it was worth it. It's early January so they still had Christmas light outside which was wonderful to see while having dinner and drinks with friends. The food was good and service was fairly prompt. Nice place for a romantic meal. Service staff were very nice and classy and kept our water glasses full. They have a good selection of wines to choose from and various items to select on the menu. We got a bottle of red wine. A few slices of freshly baked bread in a basket was placed on our table along with butter and a bowl of raspberry jam. The jam was not too sweet and really terrific! We started with the calamari appetizer and it was fabulous. Then we wanted to try their crab and lobster bisque which was served table side in a nice presentation. Our server came out with a little half-handful of shredded crab in each bowl with a fennel creme dollop and poured the hot lobster bisque over the crab and around the creme. It was very tasty but not very hot as the bowl was cold when the server poured the bisque and chilled down the soup. Bummer. A warmed up bowl would've prevented that from happening. We ordered our entrees and I opted for chef's daily special of the Fisherman's Stew and hubs got the lobster mac n cheese. When the orders came out, mine looked more like a cioppino than a fisherman stew and upon sampling it found it to be grossly over-salted. The seafood in the dish was impressive, but oh my goodness it was like eating a salt block! The Mac n cheese my hubs ordered was divine so I asked to have that instead. Overall, a nice place to dine at, but for the prices we paid, the expectations of phenomenally prepared food is what I had hoped for. Oh well. Maybe it was the "B" team in the kitchen. read more

This restaurant is in the Keystone Lodge, and it has absolutely delicious food in addition to remarkable views from your table. Food: we started with calamari, which was fantastic and complimented with an awesome dipping sauce that beats cheap red cocktail sauce any day. They serve warm bread varieties to the table with three different butter flavors, which makes eating bread more fun and tasty. For the entree, we both had the chicken, which comes with sweet potato dumplings that are exquisite. The garlic gravy, beans and leeks bring the whole thing together -- it's a fabulous dish. Service: Lindy is awesome. She came to the table at all the right moments and was really helpful about wine choices and entree decisions. Loved the experience. As skeptical as I am to eat at almost any hotel restaurant, Bighorn had good enough reviews and user-pictures to get us in the door. From the time we sat down, it was a great experience. We sat in the rear dining room, offering nice views of the nearby resort lake. Our server was on-point in both timeliness and recommendations; we never had to ask where she was or look at a half-full water (or cocktail) glass. All that said, the real star was the food. Oh, the food. Having had one of the worst Old Fashioneds in recent memory just a couple days prior, I rolled the dice with Bighorn's version. It was simple and well-balanced; everything a classic cocktail should be! We ordered the Heirloom Tomato & Burrata Mozzarella and Buttermilk Fried Quail Eggs (Irish cheddar waffle, smoked tomato butter, crispy pork belly, Breckenridge bourbon maple syrup).Both were delicious, my personal favorite being the pork belly (and I'm not usually a fan). I had the Grilled Summit Creek Lamb (English pea farrotto, broccolini, house made lamb bacon, demi-glace); easily top 3 lamb dishes I've had to date. Perfectly cooked, well-seasoned, and extremely flavorful. Others got the Filet and Scallop dishes. They must've been good, as we were all too focused on our own to even think of sharing! But being the only option we had since the dominos took our money and didn't deliver... no they couldn't do an order since they were "too busy". With hungry kids I was highly annoyed. A Thanksgiving we'll never forget...for all the wrong reasons. Arrived to valet our car to be told by the valet in a very smug manner: "ya, I'm kinda already full. You can park across the street." Whatever, dropped off the family and went to park myself. Get inside and we were seated at a high-top table in the bar. Paid $59++ per person ($80/person after tax and gratuity) fir 8 of us for Thanksgiving dinner, made the reservation over a month ago, and get seated at a high-top in the bar! Not just the bar, but so close to the bar the folks bellied up to the bar would bump into us every time they got up. They gave our table a bottle of wine for the inconvenience. I don't drink wine, but others in our group drank it. Food was OK. Turkey was good. Had prime rib and pork loin as options as well and was told the Prime rib was good; pork loin was dry. Desserts were typical frozen Sysco varieties. None were very good. I made the reservation so I get the blame for ruining Thanksgiving. But it will be one that is not soon forgotten. read more
