Being a local and taking out of town family to eat we picked Black Oak Grill..... Big mistake, after being told it would be a 30 min wait we were then told it would be 5 more. We stood and watched the hostess standing around talking and not helping clean tables. Our extra 5 mins turned into 20 before they came back and told us the kitchen was backed up and it would still be a few min's. Well that turned in to 15. Finally the hostess came and told us they could seat us but in the next breath said it would be at least and hour before we might even get our food. So our 30 min wait turned in to over 2 hours and if we were lucky we might have our food before 10 pm...... It will be the last time we even give this place a though.. And NO we did not eat there !!!!!! read more

After a day of shopping, my family and I decided to dine at Black Oak Grill. The menu was full of a vast array of food options that would satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. While the service started off a bit slow, I appreciated the added touch of the servers checking in & apologizing for the delay and back up in the kitchen. Overall, the experience was wonderful and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone dining in the Branson area. For starters, we ordered the bruschetta and fried pickles, both of which were delicious! I ordered the tomato basil soup, which was yummy and the smoked chicken spinach salad. Portion sizes were large and I ended up taking some of my salad to go. My mom ordered the turkey burger, and my dad ordered the salmon. He was ranting and raving about the zucchini that accompanied the entree. Normally, I make sure I get a ton of food pix, but we were so hungry I was only able to capture the bruschetta. We stopped in after deciding not to wait an hour at 3 other establishments on the Landing. We walking in with a party of 5 and immediately sat down. We ordered the BBQ nachos as an appetizer and it was really good. My wife and I ordered the chicken fried steak and the girls ordered the chicken wings. Had the pleasure of dining here with my family while visiting just before Christmas. Unfortunately I have an allergy list a mile long usually leaving me with plain chicken and lettuce. Not the case here. As soon as I told our server, Kat, I had allergies she brought the general manager, Casey, over to help me navigate the menu. Casey was AWESOME, very understanding and helpful. Together we selected the petite sirloin, sautéed zucchini and steamed broccoli. It was by far the best meal I've had in a long long time. Mom ordered chicken fried chicken. She said it was fantastic! Juicy and you could actually taste the chicken not just breading. Husband has Pounded Chicken Parm. Said it was delicious! We would highly recommend this place if your in the area. This was a great Valentine's meal. The special they were running with soup/salad, select entree (trout, steak, or pork chop) and red velvet cake for dessert was very affordably priced. We were seated promptly (thank you for noting they took reservations Yelp) and served promptly. The steak I had was very flavorful and needed no sauces. The mashed potatoes were great as well. My wife's stuffed pork chop was a little dry, but was tasty otherwise. I was disappointed in the kids' mac and cheese which was little more than Kraft. For $5.00, you can make mac and cheese fresh. But, my 12 oz. beer for $5.00 was very well priced. The only other qualm I had was that the banquette that we were in was a little tight. They didn't have any open tables, so we made due with it. Regular menu items were about the same price for the most part as a Red Lobster or Olive Garden, so I could see coming back here for a meal the next time we are in Branson. Overall, a very nice Valentine's meal with attentive service. read more

Just fair. Overpriced. I had the rids and they were extremely dry and crunchy not really what you expect to spend $17 on. My husband got the sirloin which was just ok. He asked for a side salad which ended up being a $5 up charge. Honestly not worth our money. read more

A very nice choice for Branson. We were seated right away on a Saturday night and they were busy. We sat near the bar which turned out to be a great spot! We were able to watch the bartenders entertain themselves and their customers. Our waiter, Dillon, was great , very helpful and attentive. The food was good.....not fantastic, but good, and reasonably priced. The local beer was cold and good. It has a ton of carbonation in it so you Have to sip it ..unless you want to man burp...which I didn't want to do. We ordered the spinach dip and split a Ruben . The food was great, but the drinks my girlfriend and I ordered were awful! I ordered the margarita and my girlfriend ordered the punch and neither one of us liked it. This restaurant is at Branson Landing. It is well appointed and right on the river. We dined there April 10th. The menu had several choices and a good wine list. I had the center cut sirloin and ordered it medium. It came out well done and was pretty challenging to cut. The flavor was quite good, and to be fair, the waitress offered to have another steak prepared. The seasonal vegetables was zucchini and it was swimming in butter. The garlic mashed potatoes came covered in white gravy which was unexpected. My husband had the Prime Rib dip and the sandwich was adequate but nothing extraordinary. The fries were typical frozen fare. Overall, we weren't wowed If you go to The Landing, there are many good choices. Take your time to choose wisely. read more

And the food sucked. No flavor. Could have gotten same quality at a fast food place. Way overpriced for what we got. We decided to give this restaurant a try based on some of the good reviews. Started with the spinach and cheese dip. Would rate the dip above average and the chips average. My fife had the salmon which she really enjoyed. I opted for the meat loaf which had a good flavor. The portions were not large but quite adequate to make us skip desert. WOW. Went here expecting an "ok" experience and was super pleasantly surprised by getting one of the most amazing meals we've ever had in Branson! We didn't care for the bread that came but both of our meals were amazing. I had the grilled rosemary chicken (juicy and super flavorful!) and she had the bacon cheeseburger. I couldn't believe the prices were as reasonable as they were given the food we received! The ambience is great. The only thing I did not care for was that the little table where the hostess was to seat people was pushed so far up in the door that there was barely enough room to open the door and walk in without hitting the desk. There were other people already crowded inside so it made for an awkward entry. Overall, a GREAT experience and a place I would definitely visit again! read more

Came to this place on a mini trip with my church. The second we entered the restaurant it was just bad. The hostess was rude, and she didn't seem like she cared at all. We had asked for a seat of 10. She said we don't have any tables available. Half of the tables in the restaurant weren't being used. We asked why we couldn't sit and she said it was because the kitchen was backed up, totally understandable. We came back 45 minutes later, and had gotten seated. Waitress came and asked us the normal questions, had no issues. We witnessed another party of 10 come in 15 minutes after us, had their food before us and left before us. We still hadn't received our food yet. Once we did get our food, it was all completely cold. It honestly looked like they had grabbed someone's food from yesterday and just handed it to us. We asked the waitress if we could have some of our food at least warmed up, and she went to grab the manager. It took 10 minutes for the manager to even come and see what was going on, and by that time we were all just over it. A member in our party had ordered something and hadn't received it, so she asked kindly if she could get the rest of her meal, the waitress turned around and rolled her eyes and stormed off. The manager finally came and talked to us, and stated she would give us a discount off of our meals. They only gave us a $1 discount and none of us finished out food. Wouldn't recommend. read more

However, it took quite a while for anyone to even come to our table, and considering the place was practically empty, that just seems like that shouldn't even be an issue. The manager on duty finally came up to the table. We asked if there were any happy hour specials, and we ordered our happy hour drinks and apps. Wings were pretty good and the spinach and cheese dip was just ok. The waiter was wearing waaaay too much cologne! He only checked back after we had eaten everything and needed to ask for our check. Just as we were leaving, the manager on duty checked back with us... We gave our feedback and he responded with appreciation and ask for us to give them a second chance. We just might. My family and I visited on a Friday afternoon right before New Years. Wow. It is amazing. I knew when the guy who seated us said, "We're proud of what we do here," that we were in for a real treat. I ordered the prime rib dip. It was excellent. My wife and mother in law both had the pot roast and tried to get the mashed potatoes receipt. My son had wings and my youngest had the pasta.
