I say with certainty after bringing Lulu here as a patient for checkups and diagnosing a serious health condition; after boarding her for multiple staycations (about 4 weeks in total); and after finally bringing her here to cross the Rainbow Bridge when it was time. She took a sharp downward turn, I made the decision and the staff was there for her, and for me. From the check-in at the front desk to Dr. Burke and his nurse we were treated with care, kindness and empathy. My sweet girl crossed gently. with dignity, and throughout the entire visit I also was treated kindly and thoughtfully. A handwritten condolence card arrived a few days later, acknowledging my loss, which still makes me tear up every time I look at it. Dr. McAdam took the very best care of her from the first day we brought her in. Unfortunately, Mabel' s dx was beyond treatment at the end and euthanasia was the only compassionate way to alleviate her pain. I cannot say enough about how respectful Dr MAdam was with our sweet girl and how she prepared us so well in knowing how this procedure would transpire. We felt very comfortable in her competent care. Mabel was so peaceful and had the most beautiful ,loving transition to Heaven that we could have hoped for. She deserved no less and we are forever grateful for Dr. McAdam and her staff that assisted us today ( and at each visit). I would not hesitate to recommend South Shore Animal Services to anyone , especially if you have an elderly dog who needs compassionate care. Thank-you Dr. McAdam. They made it a point to tell us she hadn't been seen in almost a year. Have had issues before with the rude women at the front desk. 3 strikes, we are out.
