Love coming to this Black Rock! Not only is the coffee great, but the staff is awesome as well. Always extremely nice, help, and patient. The Black Rock menu is consistently good and their seasonal drinks are some of the best! The drive thru line can get long but it goes by pretty quick. If you have time or need a place to study, work, or meet up with friends, the inside is perfect. It is very spacious and has plenty of seating for individuals or groups. I usually don't leave reviews, or am negative in any way. I order quite a bit from black Rock usually. I have a great experience. But today topped it all off the location on signal Butte there is a young redhead working there. She has a really pissed poor attitude and was very rude. If I could give zero Stars I would. I just want to say to me a veteran is a veteran no matter which country you are from. I served in Afghanistan alongside all other US soldiers so to me there's no difference. I have gone to many other locations in the Arizona area of black Rock coffee and they give the veterans discount to all veterans. This particular young girl as a different attitude on that. I just feel that if you're giving a discount for veterans you should do it for all veterans. That is my rant. I will still continue to buy black rock coffee cuz it is good. Pulled into the drive-thru this morning, excited for my usual caffeine fix from Black Rock--because let's be real, their coffee is always on point. But just as I'm rounding the corner to the window, I get ambushed... by the curb. Yep, full-on rim grinder. The kind of sound that makes your soul cringe and your wallet whisper, "We're not gonna make it, buddy." As the metal-on-concrete symphony played, I heard a hearty laugh from the window. Not a concerned laugh, not even an oops-my-bad chuckle. More like, "Ah yes, another sacrifice to the Curb Gods" kind of laugh. Then she asked how my day was going. I told her it was great... right up until my wheel had a minor collision with her concrete trap. Got my drink though--delicious as always, so props to the baristas for that. But seriously, is this a rite of passage? A loyalty program requirement? First visit: a smile. Second visit: a free drink. Third visit: a complimentary rim job (the expensive kind)? Would love to know if anyone else has had a run-in with this stealthy curb. Maybe we start a support group. "Black Rock Rim Survivors Anonymous"--first meeting's at the alignment shop. Came to AZ to visit my sister in law. I wanted coffee and she took us here. We went thru drive thru just because we were in a rush. But I loved it. The took a little while to get out but it was still great. I ordered the shaken espresso with oat milk! It was super good! Very creamy and a little strong which I love !!!! My daily craving of coffee and energy is satisfied by Black Rock drinks and fuel. I wish it could be daily, but at least weekly, you can find me darkening the drive thru window with my presence. I give credit to Black Rock for taking my occasional energy drink guilty pleasure and making it mainstream. It's ruined my afternoon coffee habit and introduced me to so many sweet, sour, fruity, and tropical fizzy flavors. My favorite of all time was a seasonal Fuel called the Colada, which included a actual shaved coconut to a wonderfully piña concoction. I tend to dabble with whatever is the featured Fuel Flavor or go with the refreshing Teal. Did you know they have hot breakfast foods? I tried out the breakfast burrito the other day and it was about on par with Taco Bell's egg burrito, which means it wasn't half bad for quick breakfast. read more

Correcting that now. ................................................................. Don't know about their coffee because I just stopped in for the first time to get a little treat. Wound up with a dinky blueberry muffin which was extremely dry and didn't even taste like blueberries. FOUR DOLLARS. He'd already bagged/handed it to me before I got the total, so I bought it. When I commented on the sticker-shock, he said "Sorry." Right. He was nice enough but I think all of these "special" coffee places need to get over themselves. (I no longer go to that most famous/infamous chain and won't be returning to Black Rock either.) Today I bought two nice-sized flavorful, moist blueberry muffins at the grocery store, for a grand total of $2.78. Gee, wonder where I'll go in the future?!? read more

Visited on 4th of July! So happy they were open, to get some fuel (pun intended) to keep up with the kids. I got the In the Cloud fuel-- so good!!! Great if you are in the sweet mood. My husband always gets the frozen mocha, can't go wrong with it. Our kids always get the kid size mango smoothie-- they always enjoy it so much. Employees are always friendly. However the place is so loud and I like to meet clients and support local coffee shops. It's just not "conversation friendly" at 8:30 am. Iced coffee with non fat milk is close to $6 so it makes it hard to support the smaller companies when their pricing is the same at bigger coffee houses. read more

I was visiting a friend in Phoenix and my friend's husband brought us drinks from Black Rock. I had the Mexican Mocha iced, half-sweet with oat milk. The flavor was excellent. I have been coming here since it opened and my son his whole life. We have gone to plenty of others but there are only two location that we enjoy most, this one being one of them. A couple weeks ago my son ordered a regular chocolate milk and the girl that made this drink went above and beyond I feel like these pictures don't do it justice for how gorgeous this drink was and tasted. He even drank the whole thing which is rare. We have tried numerous times to replicate the drink at other places but we end up going back to the mother spot. We love to support local. Well what we think is local, since we're out of towners. Lol! So we were staying at the nearby Holiday Inn and wanted to try something more hipster and local - so we stopped in here. The interior of the store is very grand and rustic feeling with a modern eclectic twist. The walls in one area are covered with what could be old reclaimed wood. The service was quick. The person helping us was so sweet. Made great recommendations and was patient while we decided. The important part: the coffee. The Americano was smooth and dark but not bitter tasting. Yep I got a fluffy drink, the Mexican Mocha iced but had them use oat milk and half sweet. They both taste amazing! The Mexican mocha could even been a quarter sweet and that would be enough for me however ahh why not enjoy the vanilla, cinnamon hints. read more

I'm extremely patient; I understand everyone has to learn, but spending 24 minutes in the drive through is insane. Currently BR is offering a gift card promotion. BEFORE ordering I verified that I could purchase a gift card through the drive through. I got to the window and said I wanted to purchase the gift card, and then use it to pay for my coffee. But because they didn't have someone helping this poor girl, my total was $42 instead of just my $25 gift card. Utterly frustrating. I will go out of my way to avoid this location. I'm a regular. I am at Black Rock every morning for my peach mango regular fuel. Usually large but many times XL and I rarely get something different. Why change what I love, right? Well this morning I got my usual and it wasn't even the normal syrup color so I asked if it was what I ordered. I was informed that the company changed their drinks. What?! The taste is no better than a Red Bull out of a can! Who wants to pay $5 for that? When there's a Dutch Bros and Starbucks practically next door, you change your awesome tasting fuels to taste no better than a canned drink? Well looks like you'll be saving me a lot of money as I will not be a regular customer anymore unless the drinks are made the way they used to be! This is beyond disappointing and those wonderful friendly, make your morning employees will be missed by me! Please stop this nonsense and bring back that great taste! Update: 2/26/22 Ordered an XL extra sweet. That made it taste like it used to. However, now instead of $7.04 for an XL drink, which is expensive anyway, they're charging $7.58! I have been here a handful of times and as great as the drinks may be and as nice as the employees are the one thing that gets me everytime is the expectant tip. I feel obligated to leave a tip when I come to Black Rock which has put me off of stopping by more than I could. It is just so awkward when they ask ... like if I wanted to leave a tip I would say so. This morning, my friends and I drove through this location after needing an energy drink from an early morning start. Black Rock is still foreign to me so I was excited to try a new drink! While waiting in the drive-through, we saw a poster saying that when you sign up for the app, you get a free drink so I signed up and my friends signed up using their existing phone number not knowing that they ever had an app. When we get up to the window, we were greeted by an extremely rude lady with brown hair accompanied by a guy with glasses, as I give my phone number to get reward points she told me my total was around 5 dollars and no other comments, so I proceed to pay not thinking anything of it since she NEVER mentioned a free drink or anything. After I paid I overheard her turn to the guy with glasses saying "they're not paying" I was confused since I had just paid for my food and drink so I thought. She had also turned to another girl who was shaking my blended drink and proceeded to say "don't shake it she's not even paying for it." We give the other 2 phone numbers for my friend and she never mentioned free drinks just used them, my friends and I were more than willing to pay but nothing was ever mentioned except "they're not even paying" under her breath to her other co workers. She then proceeded to comment about my car saying "driving a nice car and not paying is crazy." (saying that I should be able to afford a drink driving a nice car) After receiving the three drinks the man with the glasses told us to stop using the "free sign up drink" I tried to explain that it was completely foreign to us and I understand if people use it to get away with free drinks but the way the situation was handled was offensive and could've been handled differently. Seeing THEY'RE advertising that is posted everywhere at their establishment and newley downloading the app to then drinks purposefully being messed up and treated extremely rudely when getting drinks is something my friends and I enjoy in the morning when we can was kind of ruined. I get it people have bad days but commenting on my car and assuming what I can and cannot afford was really offending when it could've completely been avoided at all costs. I've never had the BEST experience at this location but I HIGHLY recommend to stay far from it you might get judged just trying to buy a drink lol!! read more

I'm surprised it has taken me this long to write a review for this place! We literally come here every Sunday. My family and I absolutely love this place, esp my four year old son! We've been coming here for the last two years I believe. Great customer service, fun drinks, clean facility, what more can you ask for. I've tried so many of their drinks and fell in love with most of them! My son loves making up his own Lil rockers drink and having a nice swirl of whipped cream on his straw. That's his favorite part usually! Lol Although, my spouse wishes their coffee was a bit stronger, he doesn't mind this place, because all the drinks still have great flavor! LOVE BLACK ROCK!!! On the mornings when I ask my little girl if she wants apple juice, she runs towards the car because she knows we're coming here. She'll then sit in her car seat and try to order her Apple Juice and bagel with cream cheese, which everyone finds the cutest. Her apple juice and bagel are always delicious, I know this because she finishes it EVERY TIME. I always get a hot Chai with whip and cinnamon because it can never go wrong. They used to have very good blueberry muffins that have been discontinued, but they replaced it with an equally delicious almond croissant. Husband loves their hot mocha. The people are always friendly and quick. Pretty good and the closest coffee shop to my flight school. This place has saved me many times when I really needed a pick me up between lessons. I love the cold brew and it's pretty strong.
