I am not one to go around leaving reviews, but I had an amazing experience a few days ago that I cannot stop thinking about, all thanks to the cutest barista who I cannot remember her name, but she was real petite with dark hair, must have been early to mid-twenties. From the moment I walked in, she was incredibly friendly, upbeat, and genuinely welcoming. I was not sure what to get but she patiently guided me through the menu including breakfast options, sodas, smoothies and of course, coffees! I ultimately came to the decision to try their new pecan pie blonde and her favorite fuel, a sour sublime energy drink! She took the time to chat, made me feel appreciated as a customer, absolutely made my week, and I will be back soon! Was a nice treat to try out Black Rock Coffee, we went here for the first time! Not sure what to get but they have a good variety of options, we ended up getting a green tea and a couple Mexican Mocha! Ok those Mexican mocha's were great, it was a creamy, cinnamon, chocolate, iced coffee! I loved all the flavors that popped in this drink!! This location cannot manage their inventory. Twice now I have gotten there and they are out of decaf, another time they were out of almond milk. Just today I made an online order that said would be ready in 5 min. I get there in 10 min and drinks are not ready. Waited another 10+ minutes only to be told they were out of decaf. This was also after filling the drinks if someone who just walked in. Another time my wife were there and out our order in. Sat down and noticed 3 people behind us that ordered had already gotten their drinks. Went back to the counter and they forgot about us. Today was the last chance. First of all Starbucks WHO!? Ever since I discovered black rock years ago I will never go back to starbs. During the summer I get a peach match chiller and it's an absolute game changer. To this day, I order it and the baristas will say how amazing that sounds because it's not always on the menu. It's refreshing, creamy, fruity and cold. It's so yummy and leaves me wanting more every time. Sometimes I will get an extra large because the other sizes do not satisfy me because it's that good. During the winter, I like to get a latte with oat milk or a hot caramel blondie. And for the food I really enjoyed their spinach croissant and jalapeño cheddar bagel. The service is always great, and the barista's are super friendly! The atmosphere and ambience is incredibly chill and nothing like hectic Starbucks. read more

I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT HAPPENED. The caramel blondes were mine and my husbands favorite coffee ever, but for the last 3 months or so it is absolutely disgusting every time?! Just tastes like pure burnt coffee with nothing sweet or good in it?! I don't understand if they changed owners or recipes or what but it's awful now. I would rather just have my home coffee then get their drinks now. (Also my husband tried a mint a chiller and it was the most disgusting drink, he took one drink and threw it away, he also tried chocolate chip and it was awful) they have unfortunately gone down hill and I would honestly recommend any other coffee place after recent experiences. read more

Stopped in this location on a weekend day while in the area. This was my first time to this location. It was not super large and personally, the music was on a little too loud for my enjoyment. It was very busy and almost all the tables were taken inside. It did take a bit of a wait for our drinks, but luckily we had been able to snag a seat and the drinks were tasty once ready. read more

The menu has a good variety of iced and hot drinks, with traditional and flavored styles, as well as a non-coffee menu and a kid's menu. Ordering was easy at the drive thru and I had no problems hearing and understanding the person on the speaker, and vice versa. When I go to a place for the first time I try to get the most unique things on the menu so I went for an iced Mexican mocha and the root beer white mocha chiller. While there were a few cars ahead of me in line at the drive thru the orders were processed quickly and I was soon up to pay and get my drinks. The drive thru person was very friendly and there was no wait to get my drinks after I paid. They have a frequent customer virtual punch card system where you give them your number and you get discounts and freebies based on your number of purchases. The Mexican mocha was tasty! It had a nice balance of sweetness, spices, cream and coffee. I really appreciate that it wasn't loaded up with sugar as I've found with other competing coffee drive thru places. I got the root beer white mocha chiller for my husband and he really enjoyed it and appreciated that it was such a unique drink. You don't really find root beer and coffee together and this was a good combo he said. With several locations throughout the valley I'll be back for more drive thru coffee! read more

I was a frequent Starbucks customer and always drove by any/all Black Rock Coffee places. But, I was struggling after an appt and needed a pick me up and Black house was the closet coffee place I could find. I took a chance and went through the drive thru to order something close to a frappe. The gentleman who greeted me was by far the friendliest and most helpful person I've come across in any drive thru business. He took the time to explain that their Chillers were just like a frappe and that they could make just about any of their drinks into a Chiller. I ended up just getting one of their Oreo Chillers, as that was what the guy said was his favorite - And WOW! What the heck?! Wait... I could actually TASTE the coffee without having to ask for an extra shot or two of espresso?! This is normal?? This place is, by far, one of the better coffee places I've been to. I've now downloaded their app and am a frequent flyer - driving several extra miles and past a couple Starbucks to get my coffee fix! Highly, Highly Recommend!!! read more

This location is always a missed, and has never been a hit, even after a few times we've been here hoping to get a homerun. Strike 2. We usually drive to chandler to get our Black Rock nitro cold brew but decided to have a lazy Sunday and go near the house. I'm pretty sure I paid for 2 cups of ice and water...this cold brew has no coffee in it whatsoever. It seems to be this location as we've been here before. The foam and "milkiness" was on point but was hiding the fact that there was no coffee in it. Perhaps a bad brew? Surprised employees couldn't see it with their own eyes before serving it. This is a pretty trendy coffee shop that I stopped by for coffee with my friend a few weeks ago. I saw it when we were driving by one day and the exterior design caught my attention so I looked it up and bookmarked it so I could try it soon. We went there close to 12:30pm, after our breakfast/brunch. It wasn't busy when we got there, possibly a person or two only were inside. The store is pretty small & the menu is pretty simple but I had a hard time deciding what to order. They have alternative milks such as coconut and almond milk. I prefer coconut so I ordered my drink with coconut milk. This place seems to appeal to the younger crowd, with some older folks showing up every once in a while. The drive through is not busy so no long lines but there's at least one car most times. Their bathrooms are clean but do not have a changer so parents with younger kids, be prepared. My friend and I sat on the couch (there's only 1) facing the big garage like glass door. It literally looks it's a garage door with glass windows, pretty interesting. We were there for about 1.5 hours. When we got up, we saw that the place was almost full! The coffee here is good and it's a nice quiet place to hang out with friends or by yourself with your laptop. This place isn't like a legit coffee bar, they have all those sugary drinks and stuff. If you're looking for legit coffee this ain't it. A shot of espresso was nearly $4. Insane!!! Sitting area is decent enough, loud music, not my vibe. I'm much more into the cooler, good music, affordable and GOOD legit coffee - places that can make cortados and understand the art of coffee. The drive thru service was great and the employees were quick at making our drinks! There was no cars ahead of us so we were in and out quickly. I ordered a medium vanilla chai latte and I paid about $3.75 for it. My friend had a strawberry and peach black tea. My vanilla chai latte was ok. It was nothing special and I wouldn't drive to this side of town for it, it's too pricey. The tea was good and if you don't like drinks to be too sweet this is for you. It was refreshing! The location is cute and I can only imagine the inside to be cuter. Will visit again to try out some other drinks in the future. read more

I used to love their coffee but lack of consistency is making me feel otherwise. I still like a Caramel Blondie once in a while but it's tasting like more sugar than coffee. I do love that they have a variety of sizes and their fuels get the job done! I think if I want a burst of energy, I'll stick with the fuels. This is a newly opened location located in the Lowe's parking lot. They have been open for only. 10 minutes and there is a line around the store. It may have something to do with the guy on the corner holding a sign advertising free drinks. The inside is upscale with contemporary music playing in the background. The cashier told me the caramel blondie is the most popular. It has caramel & white chocolate mocha. You can choose hot, iced, or blended. I got a small iced caramel blondie. They have different sizes like small, medium, large & xxlarge. They also have pastries. My drink was amazing! I loved it! It was not to sweet & not to bitter, just perfect! The way I like it. It was also smooth tasting. The decor is simple. They do have seats outside with a mist spraying. Also they have a drive thru. They should definitely build one up north! This place is better than the one down the road on Power Rd. Be sure to tip the girl at the window without a bra and wearing a see thru shirt. She needs the money to buy herself some clothes. On one visit here one of the workers handed me my searing hot coffee and it spilled all over my arm. The bathroom was clean! The nicest thing about this place for me is the cozy couch and nice atmosphere here. Friendly service, and iced Blackout coffee (hazelnut, with whole milk option, instead of Darigold chocolate milk, which contains corn syrup) is delicious, but the few sips I've had are already causing gurgling sensations "in my belly," so I'll need to stick to the lattes and cappuccinos in the future. BR uses Torani syrups. Tried to get more info regarding the pastries, but not much to say except that they're from headquarters. I have driven past this location, god only knows how many times, and never stopped by. That was a HUGE mistake! I'm beyond glad to have tried this coffee shop out, and can't wait to become a more frequent customer of theirs. Decor: Inside the coffee shop, they have open seating, not a ton, but enough to be comfortable. They have a small shop in the middle of the seats that have coffee beans, hydro flasks, and apparel. They also have a built in fridge with their energy drinks, and some juice drinks as well. I loved the size of the menu, the old style light bulbs, and the wooden tables. I found it more comfortable than Starbucks for sure. Large drive thru to accommodate all vehicles. Drinks: They have regular espresso, customized drinks, cold brew, and much more! They have the blended drinks that are really tasty! I will try one of their Fuel drinks soon. These have their branded energy drink mixed with different fruit or flavors. Be careful though, their original drink has 49g of sugar which is 96% of your daily value... so go sugar free. Overall: I really enjoyed this shop even though it's an Oregon based coffee shop.
