Both of the baristas were SO KIND! Lovely and inviting right away. Made sure to take my name and made me feel like a part of their family immediately. Even hand delivering the coffee and the bathroom key when the person in there came out. They two are joking and playing around like old friends and it really sets the vibe. I love to see it. Theres enough tough parts in this life and world, it's lovely when the staff make this feel like a happy place to escape to. The ambulance is perfect. Clean and modern without loosing the coziness. I think the HUGE windows everywhere really help create a bright and inviting place. Perfect for work, relax and read a book, or catch up with a friend. The music is laid back and soft. had to do fasted blood work this morning, so decided to treat myself to a little breakfast after labs and before work. I was expecting to just hit a Starbucks, but I found this nearby. The vibe inside is super cute. It's a coffee shop/wine bar w/ food. That's honestly kind of a smart business move because your coffee shop is peak morning and the wine is peak evening, so you're always making money. Space is clean and modern. Love the furniture choices. the staff was so friendly and welcoming and able to answer my questions and provide assistance. i def want to come back to try other drinks and also their wine selection. it seems like they're pretty good rotating their seasonal drinks. I had the salted brown butter latte, and it was excellent. i could actually taste the brown butter. Feel like a lot of places say brown butter, but I spend the entire length of time that takes to consume my beverage, trying to find said brown butter. that was not the case here. I also had their brown butter cinnamon roll. Feel like looking at the cinnamon roll, I was a little underwhelmed, but after tasting it, I was pleasantly surprised. The cinnamon roll was super light and fluffy and had a good amount of the cinnamon to dough ratio. there wasn't a crazy ton of frosting, which I normally like, but the cinnamon roll still stayed moist and flavorful and almost didn't need it. I also had the avocado toast. I really enjoyed the sourdough it was on. It wasn't one of the avocado toast where you have to use a chainsaw in order to cut the bread. i just love sourdough, so this was an ideal avo toast in that regard. As predicted, despite a mixed meh experience with service last time, their new seasonal drinks roped me back in. But happy to report we had a MUCH better experience this time around! And the drinks were even better. The seasonal salted brown butter latte was amazing, definitely enough to bring me back! Five stars go to that drink. It was actually the seasonal strawberry latte that initially brought me in but the strawberry latte was pretty subtle. If I didn't see the strawberry dust on top, I wouldn't have really guessed it was a strawberry latte. We also ordered some more pastries and food this time. I liked the avocado bagel a lot better than the tiny burrito I got last time. Perfect seasoning and I loved the fresh lemon on it. Have been here a few times now, and I'm so glad I have been able to check them out. This place is so beautiful on the inside, spacious (tables and bar seating, has lots of drinks and food options, and great service. I've tried their seasonal salted brown butter latter and strawberry spritz. The latte was absolutely delicious, perfectly balanced, and not milky at all. The photo may look like it was a lot of milk but once mixed the espresso was not overshadowed. The spritz was light and had a not-too-sweet flavor. My friend had the blood orange spritz and it was less sweet and more bitter. I have yet to try food so that'll be my next adventure here. During the day it's bright and lively, and during the night it is a bit more romantic and intimate. It's a great spot to either sit and read at, have a friendly lunch, or less formal dinner date. My favorite thing about this place is the area that's it's in! Very walkable especially if you have pets! Service: barista was awesome in assisting with menu options and welcoming us in as it was our very first time here. Inside: it's insanely clean inside with lots of seating and so much good lighting! I always come in with low expectations when trying new coffee places. (As noted in their name, Tandem also serves wine.) I tried their Honey Lavender Latte, which exceeded my expectations. The flavor of lavender was there, and they managed to have the right balance of sweetness. It honestly was a great latte, in my opinion. I typically opt for a plain latte, since I find many places that produce syrupy sweet drinks, but I found this wasn't the case with Tandem! I also tried something to eat off their PM menu. (They have a menu just for the morning and a menu for the afternoon.) The Marinated Veggie and Herbed Cheese Sandwich was packed with flavor, definitely one of the better things I've eaten this year! There's a small lot and some street parking around. When I first arrived, I thought I was in the wrong spot. FedEx is the prominent signage on the building they're located in. I've had Tandem in my bookmarks for a while- I'm currently trying all of the PSLs I can, and they have a pumpkin pie latte for the autumn! The free parking is definitely a plus, but definitely make sure you keep an eye on time because they will ticket/tow. It's a beautiful open space with plenty of seating. I got their pumpkin pie latte hot with oat milk, and a honey lavender latte for my coworker- she loved it. The pumpkin pie latte was like you scooped some pumpkin pie filling and put it in a latte. I visited Tandem Coffee early on a Saturday morning and had a great experience. It was easy to find, and while there is a small parking lot available, be mindful of the posted one-hour parking sign. Upon entering, I immediately loved the ambiance. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. I ordered a hot cookie butter latte with oat milk (no whip) from their winter menu, and it was absolutely delicious. They also had a selection of pastries available for purchase, which looked tempting. I arrived early enough that there were plenty of tables to choose from, but by around 10:30 a.m. the place had filled up and all tables were occupied. May be one of my new favs. It was BEAUTIFUL inside, the lighting was hitting everything perfectly and it felt so warm and inviting. The reflections from the windows are so cute. The coffee was delicious, I got their seasonal brown butter latte and it has a very distinct bit great flavor. I also got a lemon poppyseed muffin and it was so tasty. I've gone in here every few weeks to try new items the last couple of months because I had a gift card. So many opportunities, but I never captured any pictures! The cafe is so modern and so clean. It feels really cozy without trying hard. They get so busy on the weekend mornings. They have different seasonal lattes. I have tried the iced Strawberry Latte (it has house made strawberry syrup with white mocha). It was not too sweet, it was a fun combination! I have also tried their oat milk latte, it was delicious! For food I got an egg and cheese bagel. It was just okay, the cheese melted and seemed to have disappeared and egg was thin. The sandwich was a bit dry - I definitely needed some hot sauce or something on it. I love this little cafe. We ordered an Iced Vanilla Latte, a Fresh Brewed Iced Coffee, a Cinnamon Roll and 2 Breakfast Roll-Ups. The Vanilla Latte was good, not too sweet. My daughter loved her Cinnamon Roll and we thought the Breakfast Roll-Ups were decent - I really liked the kick that the homemade green sauce added to it. Overall, I liked the coffee and food options a lot. I also really liked the interior and how spacious it was. Tandem is such a cute spot. It's easy to find and very cute, perfect for daytime meetings or nighttime unwinding. The space itself is open, bright, welcoming and has plenty of seating for different sized groups with comfortable seats. I love that it seamlessly goes from coffeehouse to wine bar and that you can get both any time. Being close to close to the hospital means that have access to coffee options all day or someone on the night shift and grab a quick glass of wine before heading home to get some rest. The local neighborhood has it the best, since they can walk there. Otherwise you can drive over and grab a garage spot or spot on the street. Or if you're really lucky there is a small lot with spots. Just make sure you grab a spot that lets you stay for a while because it's such a cute spot. Damn, I thought I would be the first to write a review for Tandem!! But my wife and two other Elites beat me to it! One day I'll get a "First to Review"... it will happen!! But enough about me. Let me introduce Tandem to the Midtown/ East Sac/ North Oak Park communities: Tandem is located at the intersection of Folsom and Alhambra Blvd. It's right where Capitol turns into Folsom Blvd, meaning it's directly on the border of Midtown and East Sac (feels more like East Sac though). This location is next to AT&T and FedEx, and across the street from 'The Habit' to the West and 'Jayna' to the North. The idea of Tandem is so incredibly creative I wish I had thought of it first!! It is a "tandem" (see what I did there?) "coffee and wine" spot... meaning you can stop for morning brews and/or evening drinks! There is so much potential for this place! However, we were told they do not have wine yet, but it is coming soon. When we heard they were having a "soft opening" my wife and I decided we had to go. Tandem is about a 12 minute walk from us so we took a stroll over this morning. Upon entrance, you will find an incredibly unique interior! You can quickly tell how Tandem's ambiance could easily pass for a coffee shop and/or wine bar depending on the time of day. I really enjoyed the interior color scheme. And the giant windows allow for a lot of natural light. Whomever designed this place is extremely creative and talented! I was also enamored with their state-of-the-art Italian espresso machine! LaMarzocco's are HANDMADE in Florence! My wife and I remembered seeing them when we were there last October. And we had never seen one in the United States before! When it was our turn to order I opted for an iced matcha latte (I try to drink tea on Sundays as I don't need the coffee high lol) and my wife went with a honey lavender latte. And we both got our drinks with almond milk (a must, lets be real). Tandem also serves pastries, bagels, and rice crispy treats. Everything looked soooo good! If we didn't have leftover pizza we would've ordered something more! Our drinks came out FAST! And this was with at an establishment that was mobbed with patrons who had the same idea as us. A staff-member asked me to try my drink to make sure it was sweet enough. It reminded me of how staff at Philz Coffee (IYKYK) ask customers to make sure drinks are made to their desire. I told him my latte was FANTASTIC! And my wife loved hers. Each sip was perfection and we were so happy to start our Sunday off right! Our drinks were very fresh tasting and had great flavor. But not that artificial flavor you sometimes get at coffee shops. Tandem doesn't play that game! They do it right. Thus, I cannot wait to come back here for more coffee, and then wine! But as I mentioned before, as of early April 2025 they do not have wine yet. Once they do I could see us coming for BOTH, especially on a Friday or Saturday. The husband and I scurried over from our apartment once we heard about the soft opening, and were so happy to see it bustling with people. The vibe inside Tandem is fun, energetic, and friendly. We didn't have high hopes for this joint during a soft opening (only because we know this is the time kinks are being worked out) but lo and behold, this place has the IT factor! Even during the soft opening! Our interaction was great with the staff and we loved our drinks. Beautiful cafe! Absolutely obsessed, the vibe is so modern, classic, and the store is super clean. Love the music; so fitting to the vibes. One of the owners was present when I visited, he was so kind to everybody. Very charismatic and engaged with customers. He's been in the coffee business for over 22 years so he makes one hell of a cup of joe! Lots of indoor seating, spacious, and bar seating. The menu is pretty vast, lots of options for drinks and even yummy foods! Fresh baked goods also offered, alongside with filling sandwiches. They also have WiFi available to work on homework or projects. For the most part super quiet and mellow conversations. Bathroom is super clean and gorgeous, painted walls, and gold lined mirror. It's locked, so ask for the key! Such a cutesies spot! And it's only been opened for 2 months, surprisingly busy! As a party/couple walked out, another one walked in. So glad business is booming! Made it to a new coffee shop and local business this week! First off, I need to give kudos to the interior design and decor. Blue is my favorite color and I loved how thoughtfully designed everything was. From sea blue walls to speckled blue tables, everything felt elegant in a coffee meets wine cafe. Wine is served all day I believe and so is coffee. They opened where Peet's used to be. Parking is a bit limited especially when it gets busy and crowded. They do share parking space with other businesses. There are plenty of seats and tables to go around and also at the bar for the wine and beer. I got coffee of course and my order was their honey lavender latte with oat milk. Also got their breakfast roll up without cheese. I was looking forward to their lemon ricotta toast with strawberry jam spread but didn't see it on the menu. Maybe I was scanning too quickly and overlooked it. I saw mostly savory cheesy bites on toast with also the option of bagels. Both my orders came out very quickly. The honey lavender was pretty sweet for me even after stirring the latte. I'll have to try a cappuccino or a flat white next time because the sweetness from the honey lavender was a bit overpowering to taste the coffee notes. The breakfast roll up surprised me because I was expecting something a little bigger but to be honest, even though it's small, it was quite filling. I had overheard the barista taking the orders tell another customer that the breakfast roll up is small and designed that way to get you started for the day. After hearing that, I understood why it was small. Service was excellent and welcoming. The employee taking my order down was mindful of milk options which is not something I see everyday at cafes. My vanilla latte was subpar, there was way too much milk in it to really taste the espresso. I was also really hoping for a house made syrup, but they have Da Vinci and Monin syrups available. I was curious about Tandem every time I drove by and decided to stop by today because I happened to be in the area. What a gorgeous cafe! It's light and airy and really felt modern and stylish. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. I wasn't able to sit down but next time I will as they have WiFi. I saw a couple of people working. I ordered a cold brew and a bagel with scallion cream cheese and was wishing I had another bagel because it was SO GOOD. I think they get their bagels from a local baker but they are exactly what I was in a bagel and their cream cheese and scallion mix made it even better. There is an attached parking lot that is shared with FedEx so it gets cramped and busy. I managed to find a spot but you may have to park down the street if full. Totally worth it though! Great addition to the area for coffee, food and wine. read more

Tandem is the cutest little shop and we were excited to see what they had cooking for breakfast. The man behind the counter couldn't have been friendlier as we stared blankly at the menu. The breakfast roll up might have been one of the most perfect breakfast sandwiches I've had in a while. I have a soft spot for coffee and wine spots, and would love to come back for a glass one wine here someday. read more

Checked out this new spot. The interior is spacious , bright, and modern -- definitely a great place to relax or get some work done. They also have a small outside patio. The coffee was okay, not my personal favorite, but still decent. They should consider housemade syrups . They only have generic store bought syrups and does not taste great . What stood out was the breakfast burrito -- it was a normal size ( not supersized American), good flavor, and priced well. I'll be back to try more from the menu including their evening wine offerings! Definitely iworth a visit if you're in the area. Friendly service and they have a parking lot! read more
