It was slimy and gross. The breading was hard on the outside and mush on the inside....

They must have been having a bad day... my food was disgusting and my baked potato was topped with some sort of nasty soy bits.... the fish and shrimp batter was thick, gummy, and nasty!

We ordered a shrimp basket and an oyster basket, both were outstanding. Service was fast and friendly, Alyssa and Daniel were outstanding. We are from Kirby Texas, but for seafood we come to Blackbeards. Thank you Edward Sherri Kaci

My hubby and I moved here from CA, and oh what an amazing feeling to receive absolutely spot on customer service. And honestly, I felt that the team here wasn't their happy, relaxed, "come and sit with me" self because it was work. It was just who they are and I love it! The menu had items sure to please anyone. We ended up having a sampler plate for appetizer, salad, fried oyster and fish combo (me!), and hubby had...honestly can't remember but it was so good! Both the batter and the fish were seasoned, and the crunch! The crunch! To drink, I had the margarita flight. Yes, you heard me right, a margaritas flight!! Don't ask what what flavors cause I can't remember, bu hubby and I enjoyed it a lot. You all must try this place if you head down Ingleside, TX. I'll surely be back!!

Good food large portions and friendly staff. Recommend the boudin in crawfish sauce, delicious but they need to work on the presentation

A quaint small seafood restaurant in a gulf coastal town. A few vacationers and fishermen as well as locals who have lived on the Texas coast for much of their lives and who have a discerning palette for seafood. You can tell the truth of this statement by the quantity and freshness of seafood served at this restaurant. The shrimp and oysters were large and fresh as well as delicious. We shared an appetizer of calamari that was fresh and fried perfectly delicious! I could eat these as my main dish. The tartar was acceptable but the red sauce was very tasty. I had the oyster basket with fries and a house salad. The oysters were fresh and plump salty goodness as they should be eaten. The fries cooked perfectly with an excellent flavor but the salad was very fresh with good ingredients and a fine quality of ranch dressing. The fried shrimp basket was of excellent value and quality. Fresh and deliciously flavorful. We loved it so much we came back the next day and I had blackened catfish with a baked potato and that fresh salad! Very nice but not quite as good as the fried oysters and shrimp. Exactly what I needed!

We love Blackbeards so we gave this place a try. The one in Ingleside is easier to get to, not as much construction. My wife loved her popcorn shrimp n fries basket. She loved the side salad too, honey mustard dressing on the side. She enjoyed a cup of the pirate stew which had sausage, chicken, crab, and shrimp with pico in a tortilla soup....this item was good....3 stars, I tried it and agree. I thoroughly enjoyed a chicken fried steak wit' really good cream gravy, the two sides I picked were cole slaw and grilled zucchini, everything was 5 stars except for the pirate stew.....we'll be back for more goodies.

At 7 PM, the parking lot was full! I stepped inside and found no one was actually eating. Most of the comestibles were of a liquid nature. But we just wanted some fried shrimp. Maybe some fries or tots and, as stated on the menu, hushpuppies and "4 oz of slaw", on request. Besides that, it was only "deep fryer food", what could go wrong? Plenty! To be fair the shrimp wasn't horrible. But, when ordering, I was specifically asked if I wanted "4" shrimp or "8". I specified "8" for both orders. I also asked for tater-tots with one order, fries with the other. Additionally, as specified on the menu, I requested hush-puppies and slaw. That is when things went awry. I got the food to go, as we had a dog in the car and there were no pup friendly patio tables. The nice waitress brought our order and we pulled out into traffic. We soon found a quiet place to eat. That is when our anticipation was replaced by reality. The "hush-puppies" were little more than an inch in diameter! Those won't hush any puppy I ever knew. The tater-tots were only about the size of a thumb nail. The shrimp were large and nicely cooked, but we got short changed. I did get my 8 fried shrimp, as ordered. My wife only got 4. And there was no "cocktail sauce" no "tartar sauce", not even ketchup for the potato component. The food was hot though! It was so hot that it melted through the styrofoam "take out containers and even fused them together in a couple of places. There was no sign of any slaw-like food item. Our needs were simple. Our expectations were not too high. But serving all the food items ordered and paid for by a customer is apparently not in the bag of tricks at this restaurant.

Outside crunch was a good thickness and the inside flavor was moist and yummy. It came with a homemade remoulade that was the perfect accompaniment. For dinner I had the Crab Crusted Redfish. The crab was mild, the redfish was cooked perfect with a thin line of crisp edges. The risotto was very thick, the consistency of stiff mashed potatoes. Our server was polite and knowledgeable. I will definitely be going back to try more dishes!

I had originally tried to come here for dinner the previous night and sort of glad I didn't bring my big group here as their prices are a little high with a big group and the wait was crazy long that night anyway. Entree prices range from 28-62 for most items, unless you order basic fried seafood or their pasta dish. I did grab some oysters while I was here. The bartender indicated they were farm-raised from Port Aransas and similar in size as east coast oysters, which I prefer over Gulf oysters. The oysters ended up being very good and clean, but they are definitely briny. The oysters are served with just cocktail and horseradish...nothing special. Their lemon is covered with a net to capture the seed, which is a common feature at nicer restaurants. They also open your Tabasco bottle for you. I enjoyed my cocktail, but it is something I have made at home, so it wasn't anything too special for me.
