The Lavender Blueberrty Moscow Mule is phenomenal! And so was the Spinach Goat Cheese pizza on cauliflower crust. We also wholeheartedly enjoyed the awesome Steakhouse burger and Truffle Fries. Beautiful Setting, Disappointing Service…read more We frequent this restaurant because the venue itself is a great place to spend time. Unfortunately, the food has consistently been mediocre, and today's brunch was no exception. What really prompted this review, though, was the service. At her meal-arrival check-in, I told our server that we were missing a side item, and she acknowledged it. At the end of the meal, after the entrée had been eaten, I again confirmed that the side had never arrived. Since it was too late to receive the item, I asked whether they would consider taking a percentage off the bill. Rather than addressing my request or apologizing for the oversight, the server asked my dining companion whether he would prefer the missing item packaged to go. That was an odd assumption; not only that he should be the one to decide, but that he was necessarily the person paying for the inadequate meal. The bigger issue is that when a customer expresses dissatisfaction, the server should listen, apologize, and, involve management to determine how to make the situation right. At minimum, an apology would have gone a long way; unfortunately, none was offered. With the prices being charged and the food being only so-so, this restaurant really needs to capitalize on what it does have going for it, the beautiful setting. By making the service experience exceptional, a lot of faults could be overlooked. We enjoy coming here and would love to see the restaurant do better.

I wouldn't have brought my kids here. The lady who grabbed my order was lovely too. Highly recommend. Parking is HARD to find. We ordered a margarita pizza, lame kids cheese pizza and salad. The salad was so fresh!!!! The margarita pizza I inhaled it was so delicious. My picky kids approved of the cheese.

Not my first time here, but it is my first review for them! This is really good pizza! (Is there…read morebad pizza?) very traditional, thin, Neopolitan style crust. Not huge, but two or three people could enjoy. (6 slices cut) I wanted to try something different so we got two and boxed the rest. Shelby greeted and seated us, and although she lacked a little knowledge on the beer menu, she made up for that with a trip to the bar to investigate our questions on sour beer, and came back with two excellent samples! We settled on a Dr. Robot and the Charcut-a-pie. I loved the toppings and balsamic drizzle. Goat cheese and arugula just go together. A little honey and I was in heaven! The crust on this one was a little well done, which disappointed but, the overall flavor was on point. Next, we sampled the Spicy Italian. I'm usually pretty good with spicy things, and while this was no exception, it did have both of us in a small sweat! If you are averse to spicy, stick with something else. This crust was also cooked and not over done. I'm not sure what McDonoughs' obsession is with vaults, but it seems to be a recurring theme around the square. You'll find vaults or at least doors that look like vaults all over. The rest of the decor inside and outside was well done. Exposed brick gives it immediate rustic charm, while black floors, raw wood art, and leather stools wrap the package nicely. I definitely like their lighting! Oversized bulbs hung around the pizza oven bar (which you can sit at if there's space) and giant hoop rings finish the rest of the space. It isn't that glaring light that spotlights your table, it's just a nice warm ambient light that makes you wanna pour a vintage red into a wine glass over and over. Oh! I almost forgot, they do have an outdoor patio up front, so on those less humid days and nights, I'll definitely be hanging out there!

They have an extensive selection of tequilas behind the bar. We were advised they don't really have add on flavors. So don't go expecting your basic Mexican restaurant margaritas like peach, mango, and/or strawberry, these here were definitely top tier. They only serve appetizers so you may want to grab a bite to eat beforehand if you're hungry. The service was good. It was quite early and not very crowded. The bartender stopped by our table to introduce herself and gave us a sample of one of the drinks. 9 out of 10. Definitely recommend!

It is a nice tequila lounge with the bar in a back portion of the space. It wasn't very busy when we came in so we experimented with a table right in front, but then moved to a table in the back once we discovered that the precious air conditioning was mostly flooding outside due to the open front door. Service was prompt and unobtrusive. We had a spicy margarita made with Cuervo 1800 and a tequila-based mojito. Both were well iced and tasty. While both drinks were nice as before or after dinner drinks, I would not normally drop $15 - $16 each for them. Stopping in here was more for the experience.

"There's something magical about rooftops. You feel like you're in 'Mary Poppins."…read moreGeorge Clarke There really is something special about being on a rooftop on a perfect summer evening, and it's great to have it right in downtown Sugar Hill. I would like to say I planned the perfect date, but as some of the best things in life, this was just an impromptu visit to cap off an already great evening. Outside of being on the rooftop, the bar itself is upscale yet approachable, service was fast and friendly. Being a bit of a self engrandized home bartender I'm a bit critical when out of my home lab, but their Smoked Old Fashioned wasn't bad. ("Wasn't bad" really means very good.") While I don't love the prices and hate paying a cover charge, when you throw in live music, a great vibe, and a view, I can't really complain. The owner made an announcement that whoever tipped the band $10 would get a free drink, and since most drinks were over $15 I thought that was cool on many levels. Will definitely be back to The Rooftop!

We walked around and finally ran into a waitress who told us to sit anywhere we wished inside or outside. The only area festive was inside a closed igloo and no heaters were on outdoors which was just a tad too cool for me despite the super nice weather that day. It would have been so to sit outside but without the warmth of the heaters we headed inside. We placed our order and explained we were just there for a pre-dinner drink and wanted to check out the venue so we didn't leave our tab open but we were quickly served the fabulous taking drinks on their menu(s). The Old Fashioned was on the regular menu and the Russian was on their seasonal tabletop menu. Server was very nice and took photos for some ladies we met. The only reason I can't give them a 5 star is they claim they are big on hospitality but yet we were not acknowledged upon arrival. Many restaurants and even some retail stores have a way to ensure they say hello/welcome immediately when you enter and without a hostess - the mindset should be that the bar or wait staff have a way to immediately say hello or welcome so those who have never been feel welcomed as well as those who frequently come. It would be nice to have a more festive decor for the holidays but that didn't affect my review; just a statement to say that the entire Sugar Hill area was pumping and themed with the holiday spirit then we walked in the only area decorated was not even accessible nor was it offered as an option to enjoy.
