Very good. I went here for my first proper (ever!) london roast. I did some research before coming to make sure my first roast experience would be a good one, and managed to snag a last minute reservation for lunch. The roast menu is all they serve on Sundays, along with a small option of sides and starters. I opted for the breakfast martini, which was good and inexpensive (their cocktails are around the £7-8 range and they could charge more). I got the beef roast (£22) which came with roasted vegetables (carrots, long stem broccoli, and potatoes), a Yorkshire pudding, and gravy, which they refilled without me having to ask. They also brought over complimentary horseradish sauce. The roast was a bit more done than I would have liked - it was cooked medium and I would have preferred medium rare or rare. With that said, it was tender and flavourful. The "all in" option that most tables around me ordered looked amazing. The vegetables were tasty. The gravy was delightful - I could have bathed in it. Service was very pleasant and quick. The ambiance inside was buzzy and upscale without being stuffy. All in all a good experience but I wouldn't say I was blown away.

Let's start with the positives. Place had a cool vibe and service was good. We got the All In and it was a pile of low grade meat. Extremely salty and fatty. People next to us got just the steak looked way better. You live and you learn.

    All in.

The staff at this location were absolutely amazing, we called ahead and got a last minute reservation for two people plus a baby in a pram and of all of the restaurants I've been to in London this was the most friendly and accommodating place I've ever been to. They found us a great table out the way, the hostess (sorry if that's not title!) was lovely our server was attentive and friendly. For value and service 10/10 - I got the All in and it was OK next time I think I'd just get a real steak and wouldn't bother with that again, desserts were great #TeamCheesecake. Would absolutely go back and would absolutely recommend.

I know the English tend to get ragged on for their "bland" cuisine, but Blacklock's Sunday roast made me rethink that entire stereotype. I spent two weeks in London and popped into Blacklock twice to catch their Sunday roasts - once in Convent Garden and a second time in Shoreditch. The meat was delicious and it came with a horseradish sauce that melts in your mouth. The mushroom toast was also excellent and is definitely a must while you're waiting for your entree. They also make a mean Bloody Mary if you really want to get wild on a Sunday. The prices were also great for the amount of food you get. My mouth is literally watering just thinking about it. If you're on the fence just go, you won't be disappointed. Both meals were a highlight of my trip.

The basement has a bar, lounge and restaurant. It was a little noisy. But we could still talk. The roasted scallops were cooked perfectly. The green sauce was tasty. I love the presentation. The Bill Marrow was also good. It was very rich. There were two kinds of Sunday roast a sirloin and a rump. Three of us had the rump roast dinner and three had the sirloin roast dinner. It was hard to tell the difference. All the dinners came with roasted potatoes greens and of course, Yorkshire pudding. It was all delicious. I have to say my favorite part is always the Yorkshire pudding. I also have a green salad, which is basically just lettuce with a light dressing. It was very fresh. We were too full for dessert. The service was excellent. We were seated right away and given water. In the UK, you can order sparkling, still or tap. Sparkling and still come with a charge. Tap is usually free. Our server was attentive without hovering. It's a good idea to make reservations at Hawksmoor especially for the Sunday roast. We got there at three by the time we left around 4:30 some of the roasts were already sold out. Just a note: Sunday roost is usually a late lunch not a dinner. It's good to go between two and four especially if you don't have a reservation.

Three courses for £35, I started with the chicken liver pâté, rich and silky enough to make you close your eyes and savor it. The slow-roast West Country beef. Medium, of course why would you do it any other way. And the mince pie, boozy. Very boozy. Consider yourself warned. We were seated right in front of the fire pit, which added a rustic, cozy touch to the whole experience. Sure, it got a little toasty toward the end, but with the freezing cold outside, I wasn't about to complain. It felt like a true British winter dining experience, and I'd do it all over again.

4.5 Stars Incredible…read morequality food and top notch service in a chic SOHO atmosphere. This place was really, really good. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive. Our food and drinks arrived promptly. We got the 40oz Tomahawk Steak and split it between 3 adults. Ordered the steak medium rare, and it came out a bit closer to rare but that's OK. The peppercorn sauce was delicious. Steak came with 2 potato sides so we had roasted potatoes and fries. I've been traveling in Europe for 2 weeks and these were easily the best fries I've had the entire trip. Crispy on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside, and well seasoned. They do not offer real/straight horse radish. Only a creamy horse sauce. We had a delicious Bordeux red with the steak and it was a perfect pair. They do have a kids menu, which had some decent options... Squid and chips, burger, Mac and cheese, steak frites. The grilled Tuna Steak almost overshadowed the Tomahawk. We ordered it pink inside, and they delivered. It was perfectly seasoned and served with a garnish of grilled avocado with a tomato salsa. An incredible piece of fish! The building used to be a porn cinema so some of the artwork reflects that time. I'd describe it as tasteful decor, despite the subject matter. I felt like my Negroni cocktail was watered down. Don't miss Sofie's. So good!

They had room for party of 4 and it was Monday night, so "butcher" pricing, which means you pay what they pay by the weight for your meat. There was a chalk board that listed all the cuts by weight and as they sold, they crossed them off. There were still plenty available in a variety of cuts when we arrived around 8pm. I love that the entire restaurant is underground. We ended up getting an 800kg ribeye and it was the perfect amount of meat for us. We did supplement with lots of sides including the bone marrow, mushrooms on toast, beef dripping chips, and sweet potato. My favorite was the sweet potato, which was ash roasted for 10 hours and you could taste it. They all went will with the steak that came out in about 20 minutes, pre-sliced with a nice presentation. We also got a few of the cheese and pickle, which was a hit with my wife. Our server was great and we enjoyed our time and meal very much!
