Blacksmith is a great place to have lunch when the weather's nice. They have a beautiful covered porch & we took advantage of it on a nice November day. Service was friendly and quick. We enjoyed a mushroom soup appetizer, crispy eggplant sandwich and a mahi dish with fried oysters. Everything was fresh and delicious. Drinks were good as well. We'll definitely be back.

We waited nearly 45 minutes for just a salad and an appetizer, despite being one of only four tables seated indoors. The food was extremely overpriced, the service slow, and the kitchen's sanitary practices appeared questionable at best. On the way to the restroom--which requires passing the open-style kitchen--I couldn't help but notice how disorganized and unclean the kitchen looked. One cook was plating food with bare hands, while another was aggressively tossing ingredients into a salad bowl. To make matters worse, I overheard a server returning a dish to the kitchen because a customer found a hair in their food. While I understand that gloves aren't always required if proper handwashing is practiced, the overall appearance of the kitchen, combined with what I witnessed and overheard, suggests that hygiene may not be a priority here. To be fair, this is speculation--but as the saying goes, where there's smoke, there's usually fire. I wouldn't recommend this place. Save your time, your money, and your appetite--dine elsewhere.

What a great place! Excellent food, lots of vegetarian options. Jess was one the best servers ever!

It's a wonderful place to visit; I found it by chance, and of course, I was drawn in by the good reviews on Yelp. I loved the charm of the place and the crab bisque was the best I have ever had.

Food was stellar and reasonably priced for the quality. The pork belly was cooked perfectly. The hot honey had just the right amount of spicy where my mouth had a constant warm but not overpowering the rest of the flavors. Though it was almost too juicy/brined that gave it a weird textured and wish the breading was a bit crispier too. The vibe of the place was interesting will big ball lights and fuzzy chairs. Very unique and really enjoyed it. Waiter was great and provide us with a ton of info.

Really nice restaurant with vegan options in quaint Berlin MD. Crispy seitan bao app was a highlight as was the seitan with polenta, so tasty service was good and the atmosphere is lively and lovely

vegan Crab cake sandwich so tasty

Blacksmith bar and grill has excellent vegan options. Their best ever double veggie burger patty tastes great with corn and carrots, and it comes with pickle tomato greens and a delicious sauce. The Seitan Bao buns have a soy ginger sauce and the taste exceeds greatness. The vegan Crab cake sandwich is an artichoke based Cake, with greens tomato and a mayo like sauce that completes the flavorful sandwich. I highly recommend this restaurant.

It was sooooo nice, we went twice! We spent 4 days in the adorable little town of Berlin, MD. It has more than its fair share of little gems, but among them, its crown jewel is Blacksmith! The ambiance, inside and out on the patio, are both casual and cool and deliver their own unique experience. The staff is professional, knowledgeable and attentive. You can tell they get along and enjoy working together... which translates to a lovely dining experience. The menu is creative and eclectic and every dish we tried ... without exception ... was delicious! Went in for an early dinner one night and back for appetizers and drinks the next day.

The food and service was great. One of the best places to eat in Berlin. There is enough parking located behind the building.

Really excellent fresh food just a short drive away from ocean city. It was some of the best food we had all week on vacation.

We love the Blacksmith for the ultra cozy-yet-chic ambiance, solid drink menu and good food. It stays pretty busy, so anticipate a wait.

Service and drinks were great. For the price of the dinners, the food was cooked poorly, not up to temperature.

Of course, Pittsburgh with warm center. Substitute a whole sliced tomato for the potato, (delicious) and perfect grilled asparagus. I still brought home enough for a generous steak sandwich! My wife had the happy hour fish bites. They were fluffy and expertly prepared. Back to the steak... there is a shortage of good steakhouses in the area and I am hoping they will add fresh cuts to the menu as exceptional offerings become available. The chef did an outstanding job preparing the steak, rivaling Bones and Chops in Atlanta, and Cattleman's in Fort Worth. Still a half step from Chicago's Harry Carey's, but at a price point at or less than half. Folks, I hesitate to rave, for fear that I can't get in, or they will run out of steak, but if you want a superlative steak dinner, at a bargain price, join me at Pines. The bone in Ribeye is the best I've had in quite a while, including Texas. Julian is the best. His enthusiasm alone adds to the great experience.
