    Burrata and beets salad

Dinner at the bar is the thing to do at Blackstone's, where Mike the bartender is quick to make you feel very welcome and at ease. The bar itself is very long - can fit possibly 25-30 people. Happy hour runs until 6:30, making it quite a bargain for those arriving early. You could fill up on the HH bar menu itself! The sliders (3) were incredible and the beet and burrata salad was also so delicious. We also shared the raw tuna sushi and it too was amazing. Blackstones is tucked into a strip mall and doesn't appear to be the sort of place one would happen upon and decide "let's try this place". No, I'd imagine you'd try it on someone else's recommendation as we did...and we are so grateful. We'll be back!

We went here for our anniversary dinner and I can't say enough nice things! Staff was friendly and amazing and the food was even better! The atmosphere was what you want in a steakhouse restaurant. We will definitely be back! Thank you so much for the great experience!

Shoutout to Mike the bartender, he offered great menu recommendations as well as suggestions for places in the area to try some other local favorites (Reef Shack steak sandwich ) Blackstone has a very nice atmosphere and comfortable bar area. We had an appetizer tasting and cocktails vs a meal but everything on the menu looked really good. We started with shucked oysters, I'd pass on these next time, my husband and I are oyster snobs and these were not really shucked properly, the brine was dumped . Everything else was delicious. On the recommendation of Mike we tried the fried calamari with the Sweet Chili Aioli, it was perfect with a nice light coating and tender squid. The lobster bisque was nice and creamy, and we loved the wasabi sauce that came with the tuna tartare. Mike also made the best jalapeño pineapple margarita I've ever had.

The staff had set up my son's soon with a fun construction theme including table clothes, plates, napkins, signs on the wall and had juice and water ready to go. They checked in throughout, reminded us about pizza and cake at the right time and didn't rush anyone. Last year my son had his birthday at Tumble Jungle in Norwalk and it felt more rushed and like they wanted us out on the minute but Playhouse Fairfield gave us a great experience. If you're looking for an easy time for your kids, someone to truly pull it all together for you I'd definitely recommend them in the future!

My two-year-old son and I have visited this location dozens of times over the past year without a single issue. On this visit, we also happened to be the only Black family present. What happened afterward was shocking, unprofessional, and felt unmistakably discriminatory. Later that day, I received a call from someone identifying herself as the owner/manager. She claimed that it had been "reported" that my recently turned two-year-old son had: * "Shaken" a one-year-old girl * Then supposedly been "violent" toward multiple children * And later--somehow--"choked" the same child These accusations all came in a single phone call and kept changing as she spoke. Not one version was consistent with the last, and none of them matched anything that occurred during our visit. When I calmly asked her to check security footage, she said she would but immediately followed it with, "The video may not have caught anything," despite openly admitting she hadn't reviewed it. To this day, I have received zero follow-up or confirmation that any video was checked at all. I later spoke with the front-desk employee who was there during our visit. He confirmed that: * No parent voiced any complaint about my son * He personally witnessed nothing concerning * The owner/manager was not even present at the time This brings up extremely concerning questions: * How did the owner know to single out my child when no complaint was made? * Why was I immediately presumed guilty with no evidence? * Why did the supposed reporting parents never speak to me directly, which is standard in children's play spaces? * Why did the claims escalate from shaking, to multiple children, to choking--a sequence that simply does not align with a newly two-year-old's behavior or my son's history? My son has never harmed another child, and our long history at this business reflects that.

The admission fee was accordingly waived for us. One exhibit was on quilts. The exhibits were drawn from their extensive textile collection. These colorful scenes of early New England life were gorgeous. If you ever wanted to know how quilts are pieced and stitched together or if you're just a quilt lover, you will enjoy this exhibit. The second exhibit was a biggie -it drew a TV crew (Cable Connecticut 12) into the room to film a segment. Guess who made a 2 second guest appearance in their piece? Ever seen those childrens books abiut "Busytown" by Richard Scarry? He was a Fairfield native and quite a few of Fairfield's businesses and landmarks ended up in those books. The exhibit is an immersive experience that allows you to select one of his animal cartoon figures and walk through the colorful streets of Busytown. You can teach your kids how communities work, what jobs people have, learn about transportation and all kinds of interactive exhibits- think opening doors and reading things inside the door. This has got to be a blast for kids or a nostalgic visit for anyone who grew up on Scarry's books.
