Middle of the afternoon stopped in for a quick bite to eat and enjoy the movie cult vibe, plenty of folks dressed up in Jason,etc horror movie costumes having fun and making our visit special. I used to pass this place all the time about 13 years ago when I worked for a delivery company. I recently saw that they were shooting a prequel to the movie Friday the 13th, which was set locally at camp NoBeBosCo. I also saw an advertisement for a hot sauce developed specifically for this diner regarding the movie. The wine being someone who likes hot sauces, I just had to try it and figured I would try the diner as well. The diner is an original New Jersey diner manufactured by PMC diners out of Oakland, New Jersey. A piece of history. I opted for a BLT Which was a good choice. It was done perfectly with plenty of bacon, lettuce, and tomato. Of course, I had to try the hot sauce on it. Everything was excellent, and the coffee was good. Rode the Dyna out to the Blairstown Diner for Sunday breakfast. Classic expanded diner car. Classic old school diner decor inside. As usual, I ordered a Greek Omelette with a side of sausage. Their Greek Omelette features spinach, tomato and feta. Full leaf spinach, large tomato chunks and just the right amount of feta to complement. It was very much like I would make it myself at home which is a good thing. Very fresh. The home fries were very good and perfectly cooked. The sausage links were short, fat and flavorful. Good coffee. Fast and friendly service. The added bonus was that this diner was apparently featured in the background of the original Friday the 13th. movie. Camp Crystal Lake, hockey mask, blood stains decor around the register. So, it's an added bonus if you are a movie buff. I look forward to my next visit. read more

The Blairstown Diner was featured in the original Friday the 13th movie in 1979. So if you didn't know it beforehand you definitely will learn that while you visit. There's a life-size cutout of Jason to the right when you enter the front door. But firstly you'll be greeted ever so warmly by the attentive staff members ! Let me just say that on the inside & outside it is so retro cute diner perfection! And they play oldies music so you really feel like you're entering a time warp! Well how can you not appreciate a diner that's been in business for over 70 years and has had one of the most famous horror movies of all time filmed there? As soon as you pull into the parking lot and see this restaurant, you know you're entering a classic. The fact that a scene from "Friday the 13th" was filmed there, only adds to the charm. With all that said, the food still needs to be good, and it was! My wife and I stopped in for breakfast on a Saturday morning. The place has been remodeled a little bit since the 1980 movie was filmed there, but it's still basically the same. We each ordered eggs with home fries and bacon. The eggs were cooked to order and the home fries were very good. The diner markets the movie with t shirts and souvenirs for sale, along with a big cutout poster of Jason. It's just a fun atmosphere and the wait staff was friendly. It's definitely worth stopping by for a meal and a bit of nostalgia, especially if you liked the movie! read more

I enjoyed this small little diner. I have not been to a diner like this since I was a kid. The waitress was awesome she told us great stories and recommended some great meals. We went for breakfast so of course I went with French toast. They were very good. The look at first took me back because not much cinnamon or color change but they were buttery and sweet. The atmosphere was cozy. They are known for the filming of Friday the 13th so sweatshirts, t-shirts are available. We were told on Friday the 13th the whole town celebrates the movie. We have come to this diner a number of times when we camp nearby and the service is always amazing and the food is always perfect. Today when we went in we were told they have a breakfast special from 7 am to 9 am where eggs, toast and home fries were only $2. In this economy?!?! So awesome. Maybe it was the cook's day off, and the cleaning crew filled the spot on a quick switch. I found the Reuben to be the worst I've ever had...so far. Ultra salty. One person's experience. I wanted to love this place and support local but the food just doesn't have any taste. Last time we went we had a breakfast wrap and an omelette. Completely bland and the wrap was so watery and cold in the center. A side of sausage was over 7$. Our meal ended up being 47$ after tip. I don't mind supporting local with higher prices but the food has to match. We should have know better when a table next to us barely touched their food and just left. Edit for the owner: 12$ (omelette) 12$ (wrap) 2 sides of sausage 14$ = 38$ + tax ~2.50 + 20% tip = 48.60$ hope that helps. There are plenty of omelets, pancakes, and breakfast specials. For dinner, you have daily specials like pork chops., sandwiches, and wraps. I decided to order a corn muffin and veggie wrap. The corn muffin was excellent, and the waitress asked if I wanted it buttered (you bet). The eggie wrap was cooked well, but it was boring.
