Went here last night in a party of four, only reservation available was 8:30 PM. The restaurant was recommended to us by friends who had read that it was chosen as one of the top 10 restaurants in the Lee area. We decided to take a late reservation because the reviews have been so good. When we arrived we were seated within 25 minutes, which was impressive considering the restaurant is very small it only has 34 seats and it was completely full when we arrived. I know that might seem like a long time, but again the restaurant is very small and they did warn us at the first table was only available at 8:30 PM because they were so busy. It was also Saturday night when we arrived. The menu is more tapas and small plates style. They do have entrée specials every evening that are full-size entrées for the people who want a larger portion. The food has French and American influences. The wine list is reasonable, with some good selection and good prices. The food runs anywhere from $6 a plate up to $35 a plate. We shared appetizers at the table, we had cheese and a charcuterie board, and something called bread "Jenga", which was toasted bread points with a gruyere sauce for dipping. They had beautiful fresh king prawns that they brought to the table for viewing. The prawns came with the surf and turf option as an entrée that night, but they were willing to grill one or two as an appetizer if anyone at the table wanted that. The prawns were cooked and seasoned perfectly. Dinner was pork belly, grouper, surf & turf and a Duroc pork chop. Everything was, literally, excellent. The pork chop was 14oz, moist, flavorful, topped with pear and fig. Every detail was seen to. Everyone from the hostess to the owner were friendly, charming and helpful. The decor is tasteful, the restraint is clean. The kitchen is open and in the middle of a tiny space, it's nice to watch the chefs. Bill for 4 people, apps, mains, drinks and dessert came to just under $300. I will most definitely be back. read more

Fantastic! Everything we had was amazing and bursting with flavor. The tuna cones and artichoke fritters were sheer perfection-both had such terrific flavor. We sat overlooking the chef and upon seeing other dishes being prepared, ordered the pork belly, octopus and potato gratin, all tender, perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious. I haven't had a worse dining experience in a very long time. Or maybe even in my life. My family and I arrived on time at Blanc for a 7PM reservation. We were seated and given water by the hostess, and that is the last ounce of service & niceness we received. We sat waiting for somebody to take our drink/food order for 35 minutes. Nobody even looked in our direction. Now here's where things get bad. We decided to speak up after being very patient and eventually got the attention of the owner's wife. Yes, the OWNER. We told her we had been waiting for 35 minutes and can we at least get a drink, and she went on this tirade about how people are waiting outside to be seated, they're trying to get people up to seat the people outside, they've also been waiting a long time, we're lucky we even got seated (even though we had a reservation) and we just "need to be patient" with an extremely passive aggressive smile on her face. Are you kidding me? 35 minutes without even a look in our direction? So after that she said she'd have somebody come and after 47 minutes STILL of nothing, we got up and left. We went to Azure instead, just down the street, and the food was fantastic, the service was good, the people were actually nice to us, and we were glad we ended up leaving this place. I couldn't tell you how the food is, because I never got to eat there. Despite making a reservation for 8:30 and coming at 8:15, we STILL weren't seated by 9:00 so we left. I can understand a wait, it's not an exact science when people will leave their table. But clearly an 8:30 reservation should never have been given. When I spoke with the hostess, she kept offering me the bar. If I took the time to make a reservation, why would I settle for the bar? I can respect a busy restaurant. After weeks of seeing Blanc show up on social media, and reading a review in the local paper, a couple of friends and I decided to dine here for our girls night out. There were 3 of us that evening, and when we entered the restaurant and gave the reservation name to the hostess, her response was, "We are going to need the table at 7:30, 7:45 the latest." WE had a 6:00 reservation. Not welcome, no have you dined with us before. Just we need the table at 7:30. We were seated and quickly seated at a table for 2 for the 3 of us. The table was so small, that we had to move glasses to reach another glass or a plate of food. Thankfully there was a small shelf on the bench seating that we were able to put a bottle of wine or a can of soda to leave room on the table. Our server Alexa was very nice and told us about the specials. We ordered and food came out in a timely manner. We had the escargot for an starter and we all ordered the surf and turf trio, which was a prawn, a lamb lollipop, and a filet. The trio arrived on a wooden cutting board, I loved the presentation, it was a challenge to find room for 3 boards on the table for 2. I don't recall having had robata grill before, and I am not sure if it is a extremely high temp, the filets were charred on the outside, but cooked well on the inside. One of our steaks were ordered medium and came medium rare. We didn't send it back. The mashed potatoes that the main course was set upon was cold, and overall I think they missed the salt shaker. As we got closer to 7:30, we had finished our meal and opted not to have dessert. I could see a tall gentleman that I believe to be the owner "stalking" our table. The restaurant was small, but it was cozy. I loved the decor, and the white and silver color scheme. The chefs were all in white and wearing fedoras which we thought was adorable. My wife and I came for our anniversary dinner. We were greeted by Giuseppe, who was our server. He was excellent! Very knowledgeable about the menu, friendly and attentive. We had the French onion soup which was excellent and the tuna which was just okay (very small serving for $12). Granted the menu consists of small tapas size portions though the only full size meal is there specials. We also had the petite filet which was good and sliders which was tasty. Finished with dessert and espresso. Overall the food was good just wish they had more full size meal choices as opposed to all 4oz portions. Third time was NOT a charm. Gave this place three tries as I do most new restaurants, but results were similar each time. Not fresh ingredients hidden by overly complicated sauces. Concept is great for Fort Myers, but everyone seems to be caught up in the moment and atmosphere, but I go to restaurants to eat. Lamb and pork were over cooked on two occasions, octopus tasted "fishy" salad was out of a bag with wilted lettuce and all! Brussels sprouts were decent, but again, a little too much going on. Grouper was somewhat fresh, but again, complex sauces to kill the flavor. Way too expensive for what you get, but hey someone has to pay for all the glitz (not, me) German hostess was very friendly and inviting. I have been to this restaurant 4 times so far and each time gets better. It's a quaint place. I really enjoy sitting at the counter watching the cooks. The food is absolutely amazing. They have great specials everyday including fresh fish specials. The fish is always prepared in an amazing way. The meat it cooked perfectly and melts in your mouth. They have wonderful salads and small bites including octopus. This is a French style restaurant and the owner is knows what he's doing. He is always around and is quite entertaining. The desserts are amazing too. We had the creme brûlée and it was so good! We can't wait to go back again! You will not be disappointed. read more

We had one of the best ceviche I have ever had including some in Central America, followed by a raw tuna tortilla cone that was just brilliant. Blanc is truly a unique culinary experience in Fort Myers. The owner, Jean Claude, is actively involved in preparation and presentation of each dish in the open kitchen. We're foodies so sat at the chefs table so we could interact with the staff and observe their skills - they were uniquely dressed in white linen shirts and fedoras. The Robata grill is really cool and added a real charcoal grill taste to the meats and fish. The plates are small and priced accordingly, with 4 of us we shared several (if the plate has 3 pieces they will add a 4th for easy sharing - nice touch). We started with tuna cones, ceviche & escargot and all were delicious. We practically licked out the escargot crock! We then ordered Wagyu Sliders and Five Spice Pork Belly. We all agreed the sliders were great, then BAM!, our pallets were surprised with the pork belly - a completely unexpected flavor orgy - Unami, sweet, salty. We shared a creme brûlée for desert and it was, once again, the best were ever had. To top it all off is an excellent wine list for a small restaurant and it's reasonably priced. We all agreed it was our best ever dining experience in Fort Myers. The only cautionary note is that it's a small restaurant and you'll be sitting close to your neighbors so it's not the place for a romantic private dinner. I might give this a rating of 4 stars for food, but customer service from the "manager/owner" 0 stars. I called for reservations for a party of 10 celebrating a birthday party. As I spoke to the hostess in great length about menu choices and what they offer for the birthday girl, I asked if we could bring our own cake and she said yes. I asked if they charge an additional charge to cut the cake & serve the party because the other restaurant I had reservations with wanted to charge a $1.50 per plate. She said without hesitation, NO, we do not charge. Long story short, at the end of our meal, ready for our cake, the server advised us there would be a $2.50 charge per person to cut the cake!! Are u kidding me?? The manager/owner owner Claude, would NOT honor what his hostess Scarlett informed me of during our prior conversation. I find this absolutely appalling!!! I may have never made reservations to this place if that was the case. Talk about taking advantage to an already pricey restaurant.. although quaint, you have to move tables in order to get in between the tables to sit down which I think is ridiculous. I will say the food is very good, however very pricey. Although limited menu, the choices are different from other restaurants. Beer and Wine only. Taking care of customers that take care of you is key to maintaining a good reputation and makes people coming back over and over. Word of mouth is vital. "Claude" has ZERO customer service skills and I recommend he take some classes. You never know who your serving!!! My husband and I had dinner with friends at Blanc Friday night and I can't say enough good things about our meal. The food was exceptional! The place is small and very cozy! The other, couple with us, shared the 34 oz. Ribeye steak, I had the pork belly and my husband had the salmon. We shared 3 orders of the escargot, which was so good! Escargot is so hard to find in restaurants today, so we were so excited to have it on the menu here! Because it is so cozy, we got to know the 2 couples at the table facing us. They were so much fun! They were much younger than us, but they were such a Blast! I would recommend this restaurant to everyone! read more

We ate here yesterday evening and really enjoyed it! One regret though is that we didn't get the specials, they sounded soo yummy and came with risotto which looked amazing. Next time we will definitely order these. To start, we ordered the escargot (delicious!), tuna cones (nothing special) and scallops(two big ones, cooked perfectly) to start. We weren't blown away by the entrees, but they weren't bad. For entrees we ordered the lamb lollipops (probably the best of the four we ordered), filet mignon (didn't have as much flavor as I hoped), the Cod Blanc (good, not great) and the Octopus (lacked flavor). Our visit was impromptu and without a reservation, however, 2 places were setup at bar seating. The atmosphere was not as inviting as I would have liked. The seating is so close, the waiters were bumping patrons as they served them and the noise level was uncomfortable as I could hear the intimate conversations of three other tables. We ordered 2 glasses of wine of which one was not available and they offered a completely different type as a replacement. At this point we decided to only order salads so we could exit as soon as possible. Both salads (Caesar and Goat Cheese & Beet) were very good, so it's too bad the atmosphere ruined our experience and will keep us from returning. read more

My daughter and I went there on a Saturday night for my birthday. We ordered the escargot which was delicious! The pear Gorgonzola salad had little dressing - needed more acidity - it tasted like water - poor. The ceviche was horrible - the tuna was mush and did not taste good! The chicken confit was OK but way overpriced and the fillet which was ordered medium rare - part of it was raw and not edible. The potato gratin was fabulous as was the cheesecake for dessert. But all in all a very poor showing! And to top it all off my daughter became very ill by the time we got home - most likely from the ceviche (which after one bite I refused to eat).
