Blasi's is a nice little spot in Adam's Village. The restaurant is clean, and service is fine. Not overly attentive or friendly, but just fine. You also get bread and oil while you are waiting for your food. As for the food, I used to absolutely LOVE the burgers, but it has been several years since I have gotten one, so I can't comment on them now. What I do love is the red sangria. That took me totally by surprise as I was honestly not expecting much, but it is really, really good. The penne Italia with penne, sausage, and tomato basil sauce was good. It tastes just like expected. The turkey tips (w/broccoli and rice pilaf) came with a light coating of BBQ sauce and were not too dry, which was appreciated. The steak tips probably would have been better, but I realized that when I ordered them. I also got a really tasty salad one time with chicken and dried cranberries. It was on the specials list, but I have seen it there over the past several months. One thing I did not like were the mashed potatoes that came with my salmon with lemon caper sauce.I think this was another special. The salmon was tasty, but I really couldn't finish the mashed potatoes. They seemed too watery and tasteless. Overall, this place is fine to grab lunch or dinner. It can be crowded on the weekends, and one Tuesday night they were having trivia, but I'm not sure how frequently they have it. If you live in the area or need a place to grab a bit to eat, I wouldn't hesitate. It is nothing mind-blowing, but will do just fine. I'll be back soon to try another burger. read more

My husband and I were looking for somewhere decent to go within walking distance and this was really the only place that sprang to mind. We walked in at around 7:00 on a Wednesday ready for a wait, but they seated us right away, which was a nice surprise! We had our drink orders taken and bread with olive oil on the table within two minutes of sitting down. None of the appetizers really jumped off the page at us so we each just ordered an entree. He got the steak tip with carrots and mashed potatoes. I got the chicken parm. The servings were huge and the food was pretty good. The waitress and busboy were both very attentive and kept the table clear of empty bottles and cups while refilling the bread and olive oil. Blasi's is dependably good. You probably won't be blown away, but you'll enjoy the food. Blasi's has Stump Trivia on Tuesdays, but I have heard a lot of grumbling about the hosts letting people use their phones to look up answers. There aren't many tables so expect a wait on weekend nights. There is also a separate deli for sandwich orders. read more

Had lunch there yesterday for the first time. Yum!!! I had one of the salad specials-- grilled chicken tenders, fresh mozzarella and slice roma tomatoes on field greens with a light balsamic. (Perfect for me as I am not a giant balsamic fan, unless the restaurant spends a zadzillion dollars for real balsamic.) Husband had a sandwich special with fries. Fries were excellent. Tasted hand cut. Service was a little spotty. We got our drinks quickly, but it took awhile for our server to appear. After that, however, she was attentive and the food came quickly. My family and I used to go here ALL the time. It was our number one go to spot. The food and service used to be incredible.. lately though they seem to be going down hill. Their portions/quality have dramatically shrunk and their prices have gone up. Hey, I'm not stupid.. the economy yada yada yada... But we used to be able to go here and know it was consistent. The chicken, broccoli and ziti will always be my favorite. You seem to get better food when you eat there. Last time I went my sister's pastrami was dry and our waitress ignored us. :( read more

If you enjoy feeling like the only one who wasn't born (or in-bred) in Dorchester go to Blasi's. Especially if you enjoy paying $10 for a snadwich and having unparented 5 year olds running back and forth from the front of the counter to the table area. The owners are rude if they don't recognize you and the wait staff prefers to sit and chat with old pals rather than se to your needs. Skip this place entirely, go to Windy City for lunch or a real resturaunt for dinner. NOTE: I had to give it one star for this to post it's not worth half a star, trust me. read more

I ordered a Greek salad with grilled chicken ($13) to go. Despite the menu's description, the salad came with no dressing, no feta cheese, no red onion, and with only iceberg lettuce, red cabbage, and carrots. Very disappointed. Moving from South Boston to Adams Village area of Dot left one big hole in my life. A go-to place to get an inexpensive dinner to either bring home or eat out. I am not a top chef and still haven't jumped on the blue apron bandwagon so my dinners often involve someone making me something. This area of dot has more than its fair share of pizza and Chinese joints all over but I would love to not have to be cut out of my house from all the fried food. In SB Amsterdam cafe was my go-to (for years!) with their fresh wraps and salads (and occasional fro-yo) ... but it took me a while to find Blasi's. Part of the reason was they don't deliver (or belong to a service that delivers (dash, foodler) so I eventually walked in one afternoon and what did I find? Everything I could ever want in a local walkable go-to spot. The restaurant itself is always clean and buzzing. The decor is homey and relaxing and the waitstaff had always been top notch. I have eaten here a half dozen times and each time was good as I worked my way around the different entrees and sandwiches. What I use this place for mostly is take out from the deli section of the menu. You can basically build any kind of sandwich you want and they'll make it perfect every time - and in about 15 minutes. If you live nearby and haven't ventured over to the blasi, you should. Hey Blasi's. Get on foodler. You'd own the market. Until then I'll keep walking over. You're worth it. read more

I went for the first time yesterday. It was great! I got a huge deli meat sub (turkey) with provolone and fries. $8.95. Can't beat the price! Unfortunately, they don't have any hard alcohol, but they have Octoberfest on tap, and I'm guessing a long wine list. The service was great until I needed the check...kinda took forever, but, all in all, a great place to eat. I ate the other half of the sub today for lunch. I'll definitely go back. read more

Although we live in DOT, we hadn't been to Blasi's for a long time. But we thought we'd stop in and try it again this evening. The upside to our visit was the casual neighborhood feel, locals at the bar, cute decor and comfortable and friendly atmosphere. The service was almost too casual, although pretty prompt and friendly. The verdict on the food, unfortunately, was mixed. The menu has a list of very standard fare, although the specials were a little more imaginative. The bread was rather plunked down on our table - very ordinary bread, cold. The always bothers me - just a little more effort could make it so much better. I ordered the Penne Italia, a pasta and sausage mix. The sausage was more like a Kielbasa, sliced in big hunks on the bias with a rather tough casing, not the more appetizing small pieces of ground sausage I expected. Again the dish was plunked down on the table with no comment, no suggestion of whether I might want cheese with it. My husband's sandwich came at least 5 minutes later. The sandwich, a Reuben, was huge, chock full of lean meat and very delicious. We'll be back, but will probably stick with the sandwiches. read more

My friend'ss grandfather has lived around the corner his whole life. It's the neighborhood bar/restaurant, but you don't feel like an outsider walking in. The locals will smile and nod even if they have no clue who you are. We started going here about a year ago and love it. The food is great.. chicken piccata.. amazing! The bar tender is funny, witty and just badass. There are T.V.s, seats by the window.. and I believe it is like a sandwich/sub shop by day. My friend got a cold sandwich for dinner once (and I'm assuming it's kind of like what they serve during the day) and she said it was awesome. This is our go to spot. read more
