The employees here were SUPER nice, from the prep/topping workers to the baker to the finisher/cashier. The cashier was especially polite and jovial on a Wednesday at 7pm. They're the reason why I decided to leave a review. (: Out of all fast food wood-fired pizza chains, I like Blaze pizza's crust the best. It's a cross between the cracker-thin crust typical for these places and a Neapolitan pizza. The middle is soft and floppy, and the crust gets slightly chewier and crispier towards the edge. I got a Build Your Own Pizza ($12.25 - original dough) with spicy red sauce (tasted very tomatoey and mildly spicy), regular mozzarella, ovalini mozzarella, chicken, bacon, artichoke, red & green bell pepper, finished with raw spinach instead of arugula, and ranch on the side. I knew it would come out a bit wet due to the ingredients I chose, but I needed to lie to myself with the vegetables... I actually wanted a couple of different ingredients, but they were out. I would skip the ranch next time, it tasted salty and stale like your average bottled ranch dressing. I had a bite of my bf's BBQ Chkn pizza ($12.25 - NOT a vegan chicken). It was really good, actually a white pizza with just the right amount of BBQ sauce drizzle. Gorgonzola cheese was unexpected, but went well with the sauce. For desserts ($2.95 each), I asked for both warmed. The S'more Pie was good like usual. The graham cracker cookies held their shape, but crumbled easily when chewing. The marshmallow was stretchy, and the melted chocolate provided moisture and extra sweetness, which was mitigated by the graham cracker. Unfortunately, the Sea Salt Chocolate Chip Cookie was pretty dried out and a little stale, so it wasn't gooey. Warming it melted like one chocolate chip. read more

My favorite place for fast food build-your-own pizzas. Their ingredients are always fresh, and there's a nice selection of meats (pepperoni, ham, spicy chorizo, ghost pepper chicken meatballs, applewood bacon, grilled chicken and Italian sausage), vegetables (peppers, mushrooms, spinach, pineapples, and more), and additional add ons. It is pricier than your typical regular fast food pizza chains, but I like the crust better. And when I want more than just 1-2 toppings on a pizza, blaze is always my go-to. They do have vegan options for a few toppings and crusts, if you're vegan. Occasionally they do oven it a little too long, and my crust is a little burnt, but usually it's perfect and crispy! They are located in a pretty busy plaza, but there's usually plenty of places to park. read more

Asked for meatballs and substituted banana peppers for basils. That was perhaps the only really good thing beyond their basic service. This still doesn't offset the fact that sometimes, just sometimes, the workers don't seem to be cooperative. Asked for water cups and the dude straight up said "we don't have any water cups" so I said it was fine. And then moments later, a customer in line asked another worker for water cups and they got the water cups from their stack behind the counter. I then asked for it again and got them but still, maybe the other worker doesn't know? But they've been working there for a while I swear lol. I still come back here cause of fam though. Sometimes they over burn the crust, but this part about consuming burnt carcinogens wasn't an issue to me. A side note, don't get the meatballs. I just wanted something small + I thought they had a deal where they advertise a better price if you get meatballs + side of your choice but the receipt shows that the price was a little more than that advertise so it's not really saving anything if you go for their deal. I was personally experimental with my choice but anyway, stick to what they are good at, I.e. pizzas. read more

The food and service are usually good, but there is no consistency in how the pizzas are put together. Sometimes, they scimp on the toppings. I started going to the one in South Pasadena store for this reason. Tonight, my wife decided to order from the Alhambra store, and sure enough, it happened again. Update: Just FYI, the "business owner" responding to reviews apologizing & directing to go to the Blaze website to provide additional information to "allow [them] to make this up to [you]" is for show. I did just that on the website shortly after receiving that review response, but I was never looking for anything back in return besides acknowledgment. However, I never heard anything back. The one star is because it's the lowest rating I can give. I had another unsatisfactory experience at another nearby location long before here, but at least there the owner reached out to me directly in a private message & provided an apology & even credit to compensate for the experience. Very unfortunate that good customer service is more often hard to find.. in restaurant/hospitality especially, where customer service should be a main priority.
