However, now that this Blaze location has been open for several months, service has definitely slipped. "Fast fire'd pizza" ? Fast it is not. The staff are now lackadaisical, working slowly and chatting with their friends. The line moved so slowly I considered abandoning my spot and going to Chipotle down the street instead. The toppings area was messy, so that the toppings containers had the traces of other toppings mixed in. An hour before closing there was no more spinach. The place is pretty large, open for crowns of people coming through, the employees are nice to talk to, the restroom were only big enough for two people ( at least for the male one) big place small restroom not a good combination to have, the food it self was on different sides for me, the pizza had that take a bite and the taste would be gone in two or three seconds, good but not long lasting, the smore was amazing to have it was just on point. But the price for it all was not in my range, it was overpriced for what I got. This is a chain, so obviously have to take the experience with a grain of salt. You get what you pay for right? It is a fast food-ish joint with possibility to sit in/or outside as they have a small patio. Located in an up and coming Loyola campus neighborhood of Chicago you will be surrounded by a lot of Yuppies and coeds as you enjoy your pizza. I generally do not review fast food joints, but I had to give this location a shout out. It is in a busier part of the city and I have been here several times and never seen a line. I haven't really noticed it until I was actually sober for one of my visits and paid attention to the team doing their magic. Holy cow was I impressed, the moved with the speed of a Cheetah pouncing on its pray in the middle of the African peninsula. I couldn't believe my eyes, I am not sure if Blaze recruits former pick pockets or if their training occurs at a special forces facility as these guys' sleight of hand to put ingredients on the pizza and to get the process moving was so incredibly fast I wasn't ordering fast enough and felt like I should higher Eminem to rap it out for me so I could keep up. This is by far my most favorite blaze. The customer service is outstanding and makes me want to keep coming back! The manager is just so friendly and pleasant to each and every single one of his customers. I wish I knew his name so I can give him kudos but I hope he reads this and knows how much his excellent customer service matters. He also checks in on each table to ask how was everything and he even gave me napkins (because I didn't think to grab any to eat my pizza lol). The food is always delicious, the toppings are fresh, and they churn out orders very quickly. It's also very clean! Boyfriend had been to the Blaze at Old Orchard and swore by it because they have an unlimited toppings option. The service was friendly, and they seem to have worked out most of the kinks as far as how quickly they prepare your food. I opted for the high rise dough with a single topping. I got the spicy red sauce, mozzarella cheese, and pepperoni, with the ranch topping. Boyfriend got the regular crust, and went with a spicy meat lovers dream pizza. I have never had a bad experience here personally. I have visited a handful of times due to the location and just loving the concept of build your own pizza. If you don't time it right there could be a bit of a wait, but it has always been worth it in my opinion. I always have done a build my own but the menu options always look tasty, maybe I will branch out. It is always warm and I have always had every ingredient done just right as far as my tastes are concerned. I have never had terrible customer service experiences, but lukewarm would usually be the case. Just tired looking (I assume Loyola students) who aren't there to be your friend. All that is fine, but it does take some of the fun way from the interesting restaurant with a fun atmosphere. However, when I have been there it's almost a guarantee to have a table of employees sitting to the side on a break loudly complaining about another team member which isn't very nice, respectable or professional. I go to the Blaze Pizza in Village Crossing very often. I have a gluten allergy and so far, they've never gotten me sick. First time at this location was yesterday, and not even half through my pizza, I ran to the bathroom with the worst stomach ache. They asked if I needed a glove change, great. But at this location, they don't use a different sauce container and ladle. They pat the same ladle on the pizzas all day, not good. The other locations don't do that. Then when they went to cut my pizza, they went to do it with the same pizza cutter they used on my boyfriend's pizza that contained gluten. I had to stop them and tell them not to do it. I think the staff here needs to be retrained on allergies. The staff was nice, but definitely not worth going back to spend the rest of my night sicker than a dog. read more

My husband and I had a bad customer experience when our pizzas were delivered extremely late, and cold to boot. When we contacted the restaurant, the Area Manager, Jeremy Dobbie, sent his business card and a letter, along with 2 buy one get one free pizza coupons, to be redeemed online or through the app. My husband I had been hesitant to use them, but decided tonight we would give it a go. Glad to have this in the neighborhood. It's not the best pizza in the world, but it's better than most, and it's fast. What drew me in was a sign which promised a pizza cooked in 180 seconds. I had the seconds to spare, and was pleased with the results. I've been back twice since. Blaze uses the same ordering style as Subway and Chipotle where you walk down the line and select the toppings you want. The ingredients are good quality and the spicy tomato sauce is great! The service is good too. Hopefully they keep the vibe going. One miss for me are the salads. They offer a beet salad, for example, but it's more lettuce than beets. Another disappointment was the gluten free crust which was $3 extra. It tasted alright, but it lacked the crunch of the wheat version. Maybe it was because they use a silicone disk to bake the gluten free crust on so that it doesn't come in contact with the wheat contaminated oven. Get a small salad and you have dinner to two. The pizza is not equivalent to the higher priced sit down restaurant brick fired style pies. The dough is off a little, chewie. Cheese is about average quality. They also have beer and wine, and pre-made salads. For the low price I'd say it is good fast-food pizza. A good choice if you are in a rush. read more

I love coming to blaze since it's a quick pizza spot near campus. However the staff seem like they don't want to be there. And the last time I was there one of the staff was extremely rude to me and my friend because we didn't hear our names called out over the blaring music... Our names sound really similar- "Emily" and "Lily" so they accidently switched our pizzas up which worked out because I wanted ranch on my pizza anyways. And when my friend mentioned that her pizza was the other one on the cooling rack the lady at the register said "maybe if she would have come the first time her name was called this wouldn't have happened" LIKE WHAT.
