Food was great until I go to the last bit of my bacon jam chicken sandwich I felt something stab the roof of my mouth and gums and spit the bite out thinking it was a chicken bone... maybe??? But was indeed a little piece of metal!! Moved into the neighborhood recently and was excited to try Lucy's out but it'll be a first and last for me!
We ordered to go from here an the food was really solid. We tried: - Chicken Pieces - Mac & Cheese - Chicken Sandwich Everything was still hot and crispy when we got home. The pieces are pretty big, so you won't be disappointed with the count. The breading is also a bit spicy, which I think was beautiful but not everyone likes spicy. The Mac and cheese helps offset this. Overall definitely recommend.
I've never had a burger from Lucy's I didn't love! Definitely in my top 5 burgers in Chicago. The fries, Mac and cheese, milkshakes, and garlic aioli are definitely stand outs as well. We recently tried their newer smash burgers and they were a HIT!!! You order your food at the front counter and wait for your food at the various seating options. The music has always been fun and the energy makes it a great spot to go with a group. I've even brought my restaurant dinner club here before as my month's location choice. Will be coming back soon!!!
When I walked in the floor looked dirty. This is fast food joint. The service is thorough and fast however they were out of chicken coop cocktails I ordered the fried chicken pieces and fries. The chicken for me was over cooked and not tender. The service was fast. I don't know if I'd return.
Absolutely loved the bacon jam chicken sandwich! The chicken has a little spicy kick, but the sweetness of the bacon jam balances it out perfectly. Such a great combo of flavors and definitely a highlight of the meal. We also tried the pulled pork fries. The flavor was good, but they were a bit too soggy for my taste. Might be better if you eat them right away! The strawberry milkshake was delicious--creamy, sweet, and just the right amount of strawberry flavor. I would come back just for that. The mac & cheese was decent. Warm, cheesy, and comforting, but nothing super special. Overall, a fun and tasty spot with a few standouts. I'd definitely come back for that chicken sandwich and milkshake!
Lucy's is a countertop order kinda restaurant, but they also have a few beer lines. The interior is kinda funky and minimalist, but never seems crowded as they do a heavy amount of delivery & carry out. Staff was friendly but wow, the highlight was the chicken sandwich. Fries were o-k, I like them a bit crisper but that's a personal preference. Burgers looked excellent as well, will have to come back to try one!
I arrived here with my son and sister around 5:13pm on a Friday evening to grab some food before heading to an event that nearby. The order was placed at 5:15pm. I got a double bacon jam burger and I got my son a plain burger. I got us a side of fries to share with a classic lemonade. They do not have combos and do not have fountain drinks. (After visits to a few burger places, I see it's common to not have combos and that the entree and side must be ordered separately; I don't know why that is considering most people do get a side). The burger was delicious! The fries were mediocre. They were unevenly cooked. I would've liked more seasoning on them as well. I will say that it was a large portion ams sharable. I've never had the brand of lemonade before but I enjoyed it. They have a section where you can get your own ketchup in a cup. They have free water as well in an antique "gasoline" container. This was neat. The atmosphere and decor was very cute. They had booths, tables by the window, and a large, high top table, which we sat at. It wasn't busy as there was only 1 other party there, eating. A couple more parties arrived while we were eating and/or as we left. Staff was friendly and I would return, if I'm in the area again.
Great ambiance. Great music. Unique seating area inside. Nice ample space. Service is quick. Hot great food prepared quick after ordering. I tried the Bacon Jam Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Fried Pickles. The sandwich chicken piece is huge. Pouring out both sides of the hamburger bun. Bacon jam is great and the Lucy's secret sauce tasty. The fried pickles were great with the Lucy's secret sauce. Plus the garlic aioli and ketchup self serve were great. Free cup of water too which is awesome.
I went to Lucy's for lunch. It has a retro feel to it with seating for a small diner feel. We were greated right away from a friendly young lady at the counter. We asked a couple of questions between the burger and chicken sandwich options and made our selection. We choose the spicy chicken sandwich and we were not disappointed. It was tender, flavorful and the perfect size. We also ordered the golden fries which were a good side item.
Lucy, Lucy, Lucy, how could you do this to me?! I've passed by on the L many times, and even walked past a handful. Today, with an empty fridge, I stopped in. I was immediately drawn to the Signature Spicy Fried Chicken Sandwich and the Golden Fries. Signed, sealed, delivered! I ordered them (plus a Cheerwine cherry cola.) Regrettably, I was left disappointed at the quality, namely the freshness, of the food. I was going to leave a 3-star, but when I think about it, I don't really have any desire to return. While I'm not necessarily against trying one of the smash-burgers, the chicken was underwhelming enough that hopes aren't very high. Besides, I can't write a review based on what I *didn't* have, only what I did have. So, let's talk about it. The chicken had some crispness due to a robust crust, but at the same time felt like it was from under a lamp. While I would not call it dry, per se, it wasn't what I would call hot, juice, and tender either. I wouldn't even say it was moist. Though, I would not quite go as far as to say it was dry, as the Coleslaw and pickles helped a litte. What I can say is it felt notably bland. What was supposed to be a spicy piece of chicken seemed to lack both heat and seasoning. They do have hot sauce available, but this should be an option, and not a necessity. Last thing is re. the cheese: who made the decision to use a Kraft Single? For what is supposed to be fried chicken excellence, something which legally has to be called "cheese product" seems like a bad move. Five Guys can pull it off, but some long-time fans lament the melty, gooey, and wonderful cheese they used to have. Then there were the fries. With these, I appreciate that they were seasoned appropriately, and that they were clearly hand-cut, and not from a frozen bag. I am also very fond of the vampire slaying garlic aioli which one can help themselves to. Where it comes to the huge portion, I am of two opinions: if you are coming with a friend or have a massive appetite, then fair enough. However, as one person with an average appetite who had plans after, I had to carry the doggy bag with me. It wasn't a barbell, but it still feel like that large a portion is unnecessary. Now, where my complaint lies is similar to the sandwich: the fries tasted like they had spent some quality time under a lamp. Finally, I appreciate that Lucy's had fast service, however, it seems this speed comes at the cost of quality. Fast food places can crank out chicken sandwiches like nobody's business, yet with them there is an expectation that chicken won't be cooked to order. With a cool and hip place like Lucy's, especially given the award(s) they've won, this strategy seems inappropriate. I'd also like to call out Dave's Hot Chicken - in my experience while the chicken may not be cooked fresh for each customer, it has always been hot, well seasoned, and moist. Thus, this is something that can be achieved. In a case where I feel as though I've had better chicken sandwiches from Dave's, Hot Chi, and even Popeye's, Lucy's missed the mark. Looking at the photos from other Yelpers, it is tempting to give them another shot, and it is not impossible. However, I would sooner go to either a tried and tested favorite, or someplace new rather than some here and risk disappointment once again.

Would've been 4-5 stars if the fries weren't so good awful. Chicken is amazing. Burgers amazing. Arrived a bit smushed but otherwise good. Sauce was ok. Shake is great. The fries were soggy, gross. Not crispy at all. Cold. Horrible potato piece included. I threw them out and got a refund. read more
Delish! Ordered Lucy's to go on a Saturday evening and was quite content. Chicken was hot a crispy, coleslaw was cold and crunch, perfect combo. We also got the fried pickles, I'd skip next time but only because I'm a chip fan and they serve spears. The fries satisfied me but the garlic aioli dispenser at the counter really sold me. Great, well executed fried chicken sandwich, with spacious, comfortable seating and clean bathrooms. No hint of dryness in any bite. The bun really stood out, it had a mellow sweetness that made the chicken sandwich all the better. It was like a premium King Hawaiian bun. read more

Ordered through Uber Eats. It took less than 15 minutes. That's the plus. But that's it. The Mac and cheese was good, after I doctored it up with salt and pepper, the Cole slaw was good, once I also doctored it up with salt and pepper. the chicken was beyond greasy and the fries were the ONLY thing that was decent Everything, and I mean everything was tasteless. read more
Very few burger places offer food consistency. Lucy's checks the box with food, decor, service and location. Time and time again Lucy's serves great tasting impossible burgers. The impossible burgers taste wonderful. When ordering the burgers, ask for the tomatoes, and lettuce on the burger. It comes with a burger sauce that gives the impossible burger a zingy taste. Joseph orders the bacon chicken sandwich. He says it tastes fine. Since the fries come separately from the burgers, we order the fresh cut fries. The fries taste delicious. The decor looks wonderful. I like how the painted pictures create a 70's vibe at Lucy's. The pictures of the Beatles, roller skates, Elton John and silhouettes make dining at Lucy's feel like a cousin's home or eating burgers at a best friend's place. The atmosphere feels very inviting and casual. The wait staff does a remarkable in serving customers. After placing our orders in, about ten minutes later, we receive our burgers and fries. Come to Lucy's. Bring friends, family or even a date. read more
First of all, very friendly and upbeat service! The vibes were relaxing and warm. As for the burgers, they're good, but not my favorite. I asked for the burgers to be cooked to medium rare temperature and only one could be done that way. Unfortunately when I bit into both burgers, they were both well done and the meat patties were on the drier side. However the hefty cheese and sauces made up for the dryness. The double patty burgers were very filling and my dining companion and I both had trouble finishing our fries and drinks. Strawberry milkshake is very sweet for my own personal Asian tastebuds, but it has a good strawberry flavor and texture is creamy smooth. If you're in the area and craving a burger, that is a fine option. read more
If you order for pickup, they add a mandatory tip, a "platform fee", and a credit card fee. So whatever the menu price is, be sure to add at least 30% for these fees. They are not optional, you HAVE to tip before you walk over to go pick up your own order from the counter. You cannot increase or decrease the tip or remove it. This place also advertises that they pay $25-30 per hour PLUS tips. JUST RAISE YOUR MENU PRICES, this is so deceptive. Despite how much I like their food, I have not come back since I noticed this and will not ever be back. read more

The good: Loved the burger. Just as good as Cheval, imo. Super fast service. The OK: The fries didn't taste fresh and I wish they were saltier. They needed some help with flavor. I like that they give you a lot though. The bad: none of the tables were clean, and I mean none. I eventually saw someone wiping them down but they literally just used a rag. read more

My friend and I decided to meet up at Lucy's for lunch and I was excited to try their famous spicy chicken sandwich. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich and their Endless Summer margarita! The spicy chicken was crispy and delicious, it's a bit salty but it goes soooooo well with their garlic aioli sauce (which is complimentary). I couldn't take a picture but I also had their fries which were yummy too. Their margarita was perfectly sweet and refreshing. The very kind lady who took our order brought us our food and was so friendly! We loved everyone's energy at the restaurant. I can't wait to try the Mac and Cheese and burgers the next time I come around! read more

Casual burger spot in a convenient location! Burgers are a good size and there are lots of options for burgers and chicken sandwiches. Food was brought out very quickly. Fries came in a huge portion but could be seasoned a bit better and been a bit crispier, but I would definitely come back! read more

My siblings lived in Nashville for 10 years, and this is still easily the best chicken sandwich I've ever had - to the point that we might need to Simone Biles this and make a whole new category. Because the bacon jam, hot, chicken sandwich being compared to compared to anything else is quite simply unfair. Not only is this sandwich immaculately, but you can get the garlic aioli of all garlic aiolis on the side, and yes, I do dip the sandwich in it. The staff are also so friendly, and the decor is the coolest, retro vibe you can imagine. And of course, accompanying the retort vibe are all of your parents favorite tune. I can't recommend this place enough if you are in the mood for some southern comfort food read more

Fried chicken sandwiches are kind of a dime a dozen. That being said, this one was really good. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich (sub ranch, because duh), and he had the classic spicy chicken. The buffalo was very good - not too spicy, but not nothing either. The breading on the chicken is super crispy, but we both agreed that the C2BR (chicken-to-breading ratio™) was slightly off. We didn't partake, but I noticed they have a nice beer selection as well. I thought the price was a *little* high, but ::sigh::, these are the times we live in. If you're dining in, let it be said that the music decibel is quite high - esp. for a lunchtime crowd. I'm sure if you came here after a show at the Aragon, and the place was packed, it wouldn't be an issue. Just be prepared if you bring old people, they will say "it's too loud in here! i can't hear anything!" read more

I ordered delivery and got the prohibition smash burger. Fries. And a chocolate malt. What a disappointment. The malt was fine, and the fries were pretty standard Lucy's. But the burger was just a sad disappointment of where are the onions? Pickles and sauce were just weak. Did I get McDonalds on accident? Lucy's used to be so epic and consistent in their food and lately it's usually a big miss. Went from once a week ordering to once in while. read more

We ordered takeout from Lucy's and it was so good! I got the 2 pc chicken basket which had a lot bigger pieces of chicken than I had expected. They were tenders, and I expected wings for some reason but the flavor and crunch was 10/10. It came with coleslaw which was good but a little bland. The chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious and the pickle spears were of our fave They came with a super creamy and spicy sauce we loved. We saw this place once in passing and thought it looked so cute, so we definitely want to go back and eat in. The order was ready so quick too! read more

4.5 If you want causal dining and delicious food, Lucy's is definitely the spot. Our usual orders are the signature spicy fried chicken sandwich and the bacon jam spicy fried chicken sandwich. FOOD: Their spicy chicken sandwiches are our favorite from Lucy's. The chicken is nicely breaded and super tender on the inside. My go order is the bacon jam spicy chicken sandwich. It has a spicy kick but also sweetness to it from the bacon jam. Get an order of the porky fries and a side of Mac and cheese. The pork on the fries are so tender and smokey and the Mac and cheese is a creamy dream. Both are amazing and we will absolutely order it again. Lucy's is one of my favorite place for fried chicken sandwiches and I definitely want to try more from their menu. read more

Yum yum yum First review of 2023!! Solid option for eats! My boyfriend and I randomly visited Lucy's after hearing about it from a friend. The customer service we received was 5 stars. I should have gotten the young man's name but he was super polite, gave great menu suggestions, and was moving!! We ordered the fried chicken pieces, bleu burger, porky fries, and a vanilla milkshake The chicken pieces are chicken thighs butterflied. They're a pinch spicy. They were super tender!! I ordered the honey butter and bbq, but the entire time eating them I knew I messed up and should have gotten a sand which. I felt like I was eating a big chicken tender. The porky fries were amazing. The fry itself is like a long shoe string.. which I don't like.. not enough potato for me. But with all the pork and things on top it was a nice balance. My babe enjoyed the bleu burger but he said it was well done. He would have preferred medium or medium well. The milk shake was tasty too. Nice and thick but I could still use a straw without passing out. I'll be back for that chicken sandwich. read more
