This is a solid banh mi spot when you're looking for a quick and affordable meal. The baguette was fresh with a nice crispy exterior while still being soft enough to bite into. I ordered the roast pork banh mi and really enjoyed it. The pork was more like pork belly, so it had that rich fattiness without feeling overly heavy. Super good ban mi. Highlight was definitely the bread. So fresh and not too overwhelming for the sandwhich. Perfect ration of bread to filling in the Special Bahn mi. Pork bahn mi was also very good. Vietnamese coffee was strong in the best way. Service was good, staff were nice and food came out very quick. There is a little market type thing that takes up most of the store. It's rare that I am able to get to this part of town since I live a bit a ways from here. When I am in the area, I usually crave a bahn mi. Ba le definitely hits the spot! My wife and son both ordered their Lemongrass Pork Banh Mi and I ordered their Vietnamese Pork. Both seemed to be in a sausage form instead of sliced meat. My Vietnamese pork came with sliced honey sausage, topped with peanut sauce and scallions. A damn good sandwich. The lemongrass pork came with lemongrass sausage and served with lemon fish sauce. I really enjoyed my sandwich, and it seems like the rest of my family wasn't a big fan of the sausages. I would definitely be returning. read more

I love Ba Le! Their sandwiches are always so amazingly fresh and you never have to wait long for a hot meal. I live really close by and it's my favorite to pop in and grab a sandwich. Moved to this area over a year ago and finally am trying it out. Upon walking in, you can order from a touch pad computer which made it easier for me to look at options and modify if needed. They also email you a receipt via email which is great. Onto the food: ordered a Chinese Char siu pork Banh mi and a beef Banh mi. Both were very good, but I preferred the Char Siu. The consistency of the bread was fresh and exactly how Banh Mi should be. I didn't like that the Vietnamese coffee I also ordered automatically came with a ton of sugar and milk. Wow, it's been a little bit since we've been back. We used to go all the time with my grandparents every weekend. I remember when the sandwiches used to be super full, and were only $6.95 each just a few short years ago. Now it's like $8.95 each! Inflation really hit hard. We ordered a total of 16 sandwiches for the family and a few sticky buns. The food came out rather quickly for the amount of people that were in the shop. We felt rushed to order, and when we got to the front if we didn't know what we wanted or had questions it was almost a burden to them. When we came home the sandwiches were half stuffed, and were rock hard. But the flavors were fantastic and just as we had always remembered. It was a bit disappointing that skimped on vegetable and greens which always completed the tastes. All in all, if we're in the area we would definitely come back to try other things.... First time trying this place and it was busy during lunch time. Had a bbq pork and a meatball. The bbq pork meat looked all chopped up, never had that way before in LA and Houston. Good banh mi!! They do the Vietnamese baguette perfectly: very airy and fluffy interior with a shatteringly crisp, thin crust. I hear they bake bread in-house and supply it to lots of other shops on Argyle. For good reason, I think! I will also note that their in-house cha lua (Vietnamese pork sausage) is great - they sell it at grocery stores in Argyle as well, and I always make sure my fridge is stocked with some. I get the dac biet from here and I am always pleased. Of course I will always be partial to my hometown banh mi shop as my favorite, but Ba Le is about as good as I could hope for. The $9 pricepoint doesn't hurt either! Only thing I would change is to add more do chua (pickled veg) and cucumber. I have to remember to ask for extra. The shop is clean and modern, with takeaway food items in the front and limited seating in the back. Highly recommend checking out what they have on the tables and in the fridge, as I have yet to be disappointed. Caveat: keep an eye out for the food coming out of the window! I wasn't paying close enough attention, and ended up waiting a long time for my food that was ready all along. I will surely be back, and will do my best to try a different sandwich but no promises.
