I literally cannot stop saying WOW in this bakery. They have such a great selection and it's all foods that I absolutely love. I ended up getting the tapioca bean dessert in coconut milk. It is one of my absolute favorites. They make it not sweet here, which is perfect. I cannot say enough about this place. It is absolutely amazing. The sandwiches look delicious also. Please come and create your own adventure.

This is my four purchase from them in 3 days. Delicious food! Love this place so much!!

Super good ban mi. Highlight was definitely the bread. So fresh and not too overwhelming for the sandwhich. Perfect ration of bread to filling in the Special Bahn mi. Pork bahn mi was also very good. Vietnamese coffee was strong in the best way. Service was good, staff were nice and food came out very quick. There is a little market type thing that takes up most of the store. Not a lot of places to sit, just a small little cafe area for seating but clean. 10/10 would recommend

    Too much cilantro!

Cool vibe inside with the half grocery store half restaurant. I'd definitely recommend for people who are into Vietnamese food and cooking. Nice servers and very quick to make the sandwiches. My sandwich could've used more flavor and another sauce although maybe that's not how it's supposed to be made! Overall I'd recommend!

It's rare that I am able to get to this part of town since I live a bit a ways from here. When I am in the area, I usually crave a bahn mi. Ba le definitely hits the spot! I usually get a sandwich or 2 to share along with their hot appetizers and dishes and a dessert. It doesn't take long for any items ordered at the counter to be ready. The lone also moves pretty fast. We are happy with what we get and make promises to come back and try something else we haven't had yet on the next visit.

The lemon grass pork is marinated pretty good however, the seasoning is a little bit salty so if we can adjust that, maybe less salty then it would be perfect. The pickled radish, cilantro and jalapeños are fresh. The cashier is okay. The store was crowded and wait time was 10'.

A classic in the neighborhood for good food and lots of to go options. Really quick service. They have tons of vegetarian and vegan options which was really nice to see.

I ordered three Banh Mis from here. They have a small menu, sandwiches for the most part, and what they offer I would say is somewhat unique. My wife and son both ordered their Lemongrass Pork Banh Mi and I ordered their Vietnamese Pork. Both seemed to be in a sausage form instead of sliced meat. My Vietnamese pork came with sliced honey sausage, topped with peanut sauce and scallions. A damn good sandwich. The lemongrass pork came with lemongrass sausage and served with lemon fish sauce. I really enjoyed my sandwich, and it seems like the rest of my family wasn't a big fan of the sausages. I would definitely be returning.

I've been here so many times and it's always a hit or miss with the service and food. We mostly order shredded chicken bahmin and today it was really good. Bread wasn't too dry and service was good. I hope to find another consistent place in the neighborhood.

I paid extra money for delivery as well more than the sander

I ordered through door dash and asked for extra jalapeño's and yet it was standard or to be honest nothing at all. Also, no pate in my sandwich.

There is outdoor seating under a pergola lined with semi-private planters, while the inside features a bar, high tops, low tops, and large booths. The music was upbeat, giving the space an elevated lounge vibe that pairs really well with the upholstered booths and vintage industrial design. I ordered the Wolf Burger, which is a whopping three-patty burger. That first bite was juicy and pure bliss--a total explosion of great flavors. It was a little messy (like all burgers with an egg), but the extra liquid was perfect for balancing the density of such a meaty burger. The soft bun soaked in a lot of those juices with each bite, intensifying the flavor as I ate more. The fries were thin and on the greasier side--not my personal favorite, but they worked alright as a vehicle for the sauce. Speaking of which, the chili aioli served with the fries was fantastic. We also got the mac and cheese, which hit a great balance between rich and creamy without feeling excessively wet. The boat it came in was a bit small, making it a little messy to scoop out with the serving spoon, but it was soooo good. Overall, it is absolutely a fantastic neighborhood place for comfort food and drinks with friends in a great space!

And I don't eat meats that are made with nitrates. So that knocks out the whole sandwich menu. Oh and I just don't like mushrooms. It's not their problem! Believe me, I know I'm a hot mess. You can't just order a sandwich with chicken and arugula because everything is pre-made and the chicken diced up and is already mixed with red bell peppers, more like a chicken salad sandwich, rather than just a piece of chicken breast waiting for some bread and accoutrements which is what I expected after reading the menu on my phone the day before choosing it for a visit. So it's impossible to get a custom sandwich where you pick and choose what's on it. But they were extremely nice answering all my questions about the food. I could maybe get some focaccia and a side of broccoli if I was desperate and nothing else was open. But I was in no rush and just went home and made something for myself. But my partner really enjoyed it so I'm glad we stopped by to check it out. It's definitely unique and convenient if you don't have so many food allergies like I do. I had already had my coffee fix for the day so I neglected to ask if they have nondairy milk options. There's limited seating inside but lots outside if the weather's nice! Cute little place.

I decided to come to Beard & Belly since I had it bookmarked and it was close to where I was. We were able to get seated right away and received outstanding service. My wife ordered their Chicken & Waffles which I don't see on the menu anymore. This dish was really delicious. The chicken was seasoned and fried perfectly. It came with hot honey so it added a little bit of heat and sweetness. I ordered their Red Eye Pastrami. It came with pastrami, a fried egg, cheddar cheese, Dijon and greens. All in a ciabatta bread. I will admit though, "coffee & hot sauce" were in parentheses. I didn't taste neither in this sandwich. Did I not understand the assignment? Was I supposed to order coffee and then put hot sauce in this sandwich. Regardless, the sandwich definitely hit the spot. Don't think I've ever had a sandwich with pastrami and eggs before. I've been missing out. The ciabatta bread was also very soft. Such a perfect bread for this sandwich. It also came with hash browns. They had a tasty seasoning on them. Salty, but tasty. They offered garlic aioli or ketchup with these. Ketchup is probably the way to go. Really difficult to earn with the aioli, the hash browns fall apart if you try to dip them in the aioli. I can't wait to come back.

We started with beer from an extensive list (updated daily, per our server). I had a Kwak red ale served in a creative glass with its own little supporting stand. Hubs got an IPA and I can't remember which one. Daughter ordered a ginger ale. All tasty! We started with the poutine fries. Very good!! We cleared the plate. Then I had a smash burger - it was good, but I forgot I am not a fan of American cheese which made the burger...I don't know, creamy? The burger itself was good. Hubs and daughter sampled it and loved it. Hubs had the brisket Reuben and loved it. Daughter had the sausage platter and loved the sausages -- 2 kinds -- and potatoes. No room for dessert. Server was friendly, helpful (on the beer menu especially) and efficient. Other staff made sure we had water, utensils, brought our food, etc. We were well cared for. The building itself is a multi-room plus patio affair, all in brick with hardwood floors and warm lighting. We ate in the dining room but there are two bar areas with large bars and tables, serving from the same menu. When you first walk in, you have to show your ID since this is an adults-only bar establishment. (1) You can then choose to sit in the front bar area, if you want a full menu, but use the bar for ordering service. (2) If you keep walking through the front bar area, you reach the host stand at the top of the ramp. This is where you can put your name in to sit in the main dining room, upstairs, or outside. (3) However, you can also walk through to the left of the host stand to another bar area that has full menus, but bar service for ordering. This is our preferred spot because we can often find a seat and order with the bar. Do note that, during busy times, part of this bar area is managed by the host stand and will be labeled as such. The extensive beer menu is our favorite. We have our favorite food items, so all our decision making revolves around which beer we will get. They always have a bit of everything style-wise, from all over the world, but with a local-brewery focus. Seasonal emphasis is also taken into consideration when they curate the beer list. It is always rotating and we love it! Beers are served in the recommended glasses from the breweries. It's a great drinking experience from start to finish! Our food orders are eternally set: I get the Nueske Ham sandwich with fries and aioli. My husband gets the Reuben sandwich with fries and aioli. This meal is so perfect we'll probably never get anything different, despite the menu being delicious across the board. The wildest we get is sometimes splitting the two sandwiches. No reason to mess with a good thing! Other notable great things about Hopleaf: (1) Kind, knowledgeable, and professional staff. (2) Reasonable prices for high quality and great variety products. (3) Clean Belgian Bar decor/vibe with lots of space for folks to enjoy their time. (4) They are open late and serve food late. Thank you for being an amazing local spot, Hopleaf! We'll see you soon!
