So I'll start out saying that I like the food here. Super tasty. What I have an issue with is the service. This place is much like our fine postal service...they don't give a f*ck. It appear from several visits that there is some form of nepotism going on here. Every staff member knows each other well and are often seen hanging out and chatting regardless of how deep the line is. This should be a simple straight forward process. Pieology can do it, PizzaRev can do it, why can't Blaze pizza do it. I'm guessing not all blaze pizza locations aren't like this...I've been to others and had great experiences. But this place, this place is CONSTANTLY like this. It also seems that they've allowed online ordering to impact them as they pull resources to build those orders while DEEP with customers in line. Edit from my review just over a year ago; They have increased the price to $8.65 for both the build your own and the signature pizzas! The lines are still long but they tend to move ok. Judy don't be in a crazy hurry or order online. I remember when I could only get Blaze outside of Palm Desert at the outlets. I'm so glad they've expanded and they're so close to my house! It's so incredible to be able to order as many toppings as I'd like without nickel and diming you or judging you. When they 1st opened, I know they had trouble keeping everyone's order correct but I think they've figured it out at this point. The people who work there have always been nice and seem happy to help. The speed is good and I got my pizza in relatively good timing. Any shorter and the dough might not be cooked through and visa versa. read more

Gotta love me some Blaze pizza. I think this is one of the OG build-it-yourself pizza places and it's still my favorite. The thin crust is the perfect crispiness and I usually load that sucker up with pesto sauce and a myriad of toppings. If you're getting pesto sauce, be sure to also get chicken and artichokes! You won't be disappointed. I got suckered into trying the agua fresca this time and it was surprisingly pretty bad...seriously lacking in flavor. But that was probably the only negative I could think of. Service was great, seating was spacious, pizzas were cheap $8.5, staff was friendly. Had to pull a star off the review. Today I got the exact same pizza as last time but it was missing a lot of cheese and the crust had a nasty burned aftertaste. Blaze does okay for fast food pizza. It is not a crazy high end craft pie. But it's good for that carb craving work lunch. The knocks on Blaze is the crust is kinda bland. You can augment this by asking for a little salt and pepper and basil BEFORE they sauce the crust. Then opt for the spicy red sauce. The best way to go is a create your own. Always ask for a little more toppings or they kinda short you. It is in a businesses best interest to give you less if they can, so ask and get a full pie. During this covid restriction we ordered via the app and it was ready upon arrival. Super easy and great service and options. Big fan of this style pizza and ordering. I'm lucky to have a nice blaze in my neighborhood that's clean with a friendly staff. This blaze had dirty tables, the topping section was dirty and the workers seemed to hate their job, even when given a smile by the paying customers. We tried to make the ordering process easy on the girls who were making our pizzas to make it less uncomfortable. We said thank you multiple times with no "you're welcome" back. The pizzas weren't even cut through! We couldn't find our slices and so when asked to recur the pizza the kid seemed like he was so annoyed to do it. It was like pull apart bread with toppings. This Blaze is good, the location isn't as good at the one in Culver City and Torrance (Del Amo Mall) in that it's more busy here, so the tables don't turn over as fast (and seating isn't as readily available to dine in) and at times it takes a little longer to clean 'em for the next customer. Maybe that's a testament to the place's popularity. It also has a bit more urban and younger demographic who patronize this location. BLAZE is a reliable pizzaria and you get your food cooked fresh to order, the standard size pizza is big enough for 2 to share too. You'll spend about $8, then add a bit more for a drink, unless you opt for water (as you should, for your health). Parking is easy, as this shared the same lot as many other businesses. Stopped by here for lunch before heading to the Apple Store this place is located off Rosecrans off the 405 fwy in Hawthorne. Shares the parking with other businesses so during the lunch rush parking is pretty bad and a pain to get out cause of the traffic on Rosecrans. The place is nice this is similar to Pieology where you select a pizza from their menu or create your own. I do like the pricing structure too. I just got pepperoni cheese and sauce it was 6.95 as compared to Pieology where they have only one price for creating your own pie. The staff was great and even though when I got here there was a line and it was a little slow the pizzas were made fast I liked that. The only downside was the pizza was a bit on the greasy side which was no problem a napkin wold do to soak it up. The taste was good I would go back. Overall a good dining experience. read more

Blaze Pizza is one of three places we eat at after church and this time we tried online order which was a total failure. Ordered two pizzas at 2:31pm on our way home from church arrived at 2:40pm and even stayed in the car for a moment because we knew pizza was not ready. ORDER time was 2:47pm. One out of two pizza were ready. Why when ordered together . The other pizza hadn't even made it to oven. Either its nepotism going on there or they just not ready for online ordering but I hope they can have it together the next time I order. At $8.45 a pizza with unlimited toppings it's definitely not over priced yet the quality is great and the ingredients always look really fresh! Ordered pizza two days ago and the lady on the phone was rude. She sounded annoyed and I could hardly hear her b/c there was a screaming baby in the background. It sounded like she was holding the baby b/c it was so clear and loud. My husband really liked the pizza so I was going to order again. Really disappointed in the pizza this time. It was burnt on the bottom and chewy as if it wasn't cooked properly. We have not had this problem before. He picked the white sauce with mushrooms and black olives (forced veggies on him) and pineapple. I would order the white sauce next time. I love a garlicky white pizza. His might have been the tastiest pizza. My pizza was loaded. I chose a pesto base with almost every cheese and veggie topping. I then topped it off with arugula and a balsamic drizzle. I was worried this was going to be a case of too much flavors mixing, but it was scrumptious. I also felt healthy eating all the veggies. I was very happy with my choice. Hubby was not as please with his pizza. He gives Blaze 4 stars. He did not like the red sauce. It was too sweet and lackluster for his tasted. I agree. He had the worst pizza of us 3. My husband and I have been long-time fans of Blaze Pizza, and particularly this location. The long lines moved fast and the servers were friendly and professional. We loved Blaze Pizza and it was part of a weekend routines, week after week. Over the course of the last several months, we've seen a decline in staff. It's apparent that they don't want to be there; the lines move at a glacial pace. (We wanted to jump in and make the pizza ourselves!) We almost could forgive Blaze for this, because I love Blaze vegan pizzas and the thick crust is my absolute favorite....but during our most recent visit, our pizza had a long strand of hair on it. We noticed that the person that was making the dough wasn't wearing a hair net or had her hair pulled back. When we pointed out the hair, she really could care less. There was no one supervising the staff, so there was no one we could report this to. We are disgusted by the lack of cleanliness, as well as the the staff's attitude of really not caring. We could have overlooked the slow pace of making pizza --- it's clear that the staff hates working there...but this last incident has forced us to find other pizza joints. I'm disappointed that this location's service has deteriorated so rapidly -- you've lost a customer for life. My advice, go to other Blaze locations. read more

A few years back I was deployed to Palm Springs California. I went to Riverside and found Blaze Pizza. I got my first taste of build-your-own pizza and I was hooked. I almost thought of buying a franchise and opening it up in Hawaii. I'm glad I didn't because a year and half ago, Pieology opened up. Now there are 8 in Hawaii owned by the same chain that owns Wendy's. So when we were here it in LA and I found out Blaze just up the street from the Springhill Suites, I had to take the FAM bam. Parking in the strip mall was plentiful and easy. There are other establishments, but none that may really complement Blaze except maybe the soft serve ice cream parlor. It's pretty much the same as going to a subway and ordering up a sub sandwich. The toppings were pretty good, but they could expand the bar. I really like the roasted garlic. There was bottled beer. I didn't see anything on tap. Salads looked pretty good, too. I really like my pizza burnt. I told the oven-meister to leave it in for 8 minutes and assured him not to worry. He wouldn't be able to burn it enough. He put it in the back where it's hottest, but, sadly, he didn't burn it enough. Price was $8.95 a pie if you built your own. Very reasonable considering there are unlimited toppings you can put. I recommend any Blaze for a great time out for pizza. I always say if your pizza comes out crappy, blame yourself. ***Cross contamination post only*** My only concern with this place was cross contamination if you are vegan or have a dairy allergy like myself just be careful eating or ordering take out. The person making our order was getting the mozzarella cheese into the marinara sauce. Cheese was just falling in. Ugh. I really think management needs to place all non vegan items away from vegan items. This will ensure nothing like this occurs. Especially since this establishment is promoting vegan friendly options. These minor changes will definitely work if they did them. Overall they did ask if a glove change was needed and if a new cutter was required. Of course I said yes!
