I ordered the Ranch Wrap with white pita. There was no line when we ordered, but the food took awhile to be ready. The place seemed to have a lot of to go orders. First off - I love the colors of this place. It's so bright and fun! I placed an order online and picked it up. It wasn't ready when I arrived even though it said it was going to be ready when I went to pick it up, but it wasn't a huge deal. They were busy and it was around lunch. I only had to wait for a little bit. I got the Caesar Wrap and overall it was good. The chicken is dry but when you add the Caesar dressing to it, it makes it much tastier. I had the 1/4 Rotisserie Chicken Dark & Roasted Potatos. The chicken is very good very moist & flavorful and the potatos were also very good. Not what I expected but better then I expected with a variety of potatos and some onion. What I ended up doing was taking the chicken off the bone and mixing some of it in with the potatos, Excellent combo! There is some outdoor seating none inside. You actually order outside but no complaints. The staff is friendly and the whole area is neat and clean. Dare I say this was the best chicken caesar salad wrap I have ever had. It was everything I wanted in more with avocado, pita chip crisps, and a good amount of chicken. I would say to maybe go light on the pita chips as towards the end it made the wrap salty but noted for next time. They only have outdoor seating but plenty of it with very colorful vibes. California Chicken Cafe serves flavorful, fresh and delicious food. The El Segundo location has a drivethrough and outdoor seating (no inside seating) Parking is crowded. We circled the lot closest to the Cafe, but every spot was taken. It was a Monday at noon. I dropped off my husband and found parking further out, close to the urgent care. The Cafe shares a parking lot with other restaurants. I chose the one quarter dark chicken and my husband, half a chicken. He remarked that the chickens must be petite, smaller portions than other specialty chicken restaurants we frequent. The chicken was juicy, succulent, and well-seasoned. We both chose the steamed squash as a side dish. Since the servings were generous, we could have ordered only one steamed squash. We brought home leftover squash. I ordered the well seasoned potatoes which are sauteed with bits of onion. My husband and I shared this yummy side order and ate the whole portion. We both ended up with a little leftover chicken. Our food order was taken by a server staffing a podium in front of the café. She was highly efficient and made helpful suggestions. Our food was delivered to our outdoor table by a helpful server, who asked if we needed anything else. She got us more napkins. We were fortunate to find a shaded table, close to the water station. The tables were all occupied when we first arrived. I have been a fan of California Chicken Cafe since one opened in Santa Monica in the 1990's. At that time, they offered generous sized chicken combination plates which included one or two sides, outstanding Chinese chicken salad, and yummy chicken wrap sandwiches. We must return to this location to try their salads and wraps. It would be smart to order in advance for pickup or come dine at a less busy time of the day. I can see why there were lines in front. Definitely add a sauce to whatever you order they're all top-tier!! parking is not that easy but they just opened up three spots for pick ups making it easy for people who are just on a quick lunch rush. I would like to share my experience because I believe customer service is very important. When I went to place my order, the supervisor Letty who assisted me had a very rude and unwelcoming attitude. I asked for some help understanding the menu, but instead of taking the time to explain it, I felt like she was unwilling to help. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but as a supervisor, I believe she should maintain a professional and respectful attitude toward customers. It was my first time trying wraps from Calif Chicken Cafe and I am impressed! I tried their Melrose wrap recently which I heard is one of the most popular. I instantly could tell why this is such a beloved wrap. It's huge in both size and flavor. It's packed with chicken, avocado, white cheddar cheese, greens, onions and tomatoes. It's smothered with mayo inside but it is also accompanied with Italian dressing. With its large size, the wrap easily was enough for two meals! I was full after just eating half. I was definitely happy and content. Flavor-wise everything on point. I loved the tender chicken plus fresh greens and avocado. The Caesar dressing they serve on the side offers a nice tang to the taste. Their broccoli pasta salad is also very good and I loved the Chinese cabbage salad which was simple but clean flavors. So glad more and more CCCs are opening South of LA. Used to frequent them in West LA, and now there's one closer to me. Randomly driving around El Segundo when we found this CCC location. Easy parking in a nice clean plaza with multiple food options. While there's outside seating, this location feels more like it's intended to be a to-go, quick pick up option. Everything, except the kitchen is basically done outside. Workers take your orders outside and will bring it to you when ready. The food quality is still very good compared to other CCC locations. It's fresh, healthy, and an excellent option any time of day. Our favorite go-to item is the Chinese chicken salad, dressing on the side. They're dressing isn't your typical "Asian" dressing. It's a mix of sweet, nutty, and fresh. Try it for yourself, you won't regret it. Half chicken or all dark meat is great if you just wanted chicken. Juicy and flavorful chicken. The skin can be very salty sometimes, but good with the chicken meat The wraps are good as well, Caesar, Chinese chicken. All are good options. For sides, my two favorites are the pasta salad and the potatoes. The potatoes are well seasoned, and the pasta salad is my "cheat" dish. The woman who answered the phone doesn't speak clear and concise English. I do. She clearly didn't understand what I was asking, even after I repeated myself multiple times. After being tired of receiving answers to questions I never asked, I asked if she could put someone on the phone who would better understand and actually answer my questions. Then came the attitude/lack of professionalism. "I'm the person who is going to be answering your question, so you can ask again." If you were the person who was going to be answering my question, you would have answered it the first time I asked. I'm not sure who tf people think they are, but I know who I'm not - a customer of this location. I order my fair share of delivery fare, so I want to thank you for saving me time and money, because I hate wasting either. Another bug! This time in a salad. Smushed into this piece of lettuce. They're either not washing the lettuce thoroughly - which is concerning given the current outbreak ..... or they have a gnat/fly problem that they need to sort out. Either way it's off putting to find bugs in your food multiple times. After giving them a second chance, I think we're done. Food always tasted good and service was always quick. What I love about getting food here is their rotisserie chicken. Super juice, well-seasoned, and reliably good. My favorite is their white-meat quarter chicken. I often get their Chinese Chicken Salad which I've heard is also one of their top-ranked menu items. This salad features white meat chicken, almonds, Mandarin oranges, Chinese noodles, and a side of Chinese dressing -- a fresh-and-crunchy contrast to the warm rotisserie items. I like to get an extra side of dressing as its hard to make at home. I often splurge and get their Chewy Coco-Nut Cookie as a dessert and it taste great! Overall, good experience here. There was a worm in my broccoli pasta salad. I called and they gave me a refund which I appreciate, however they didn't seem shocked at all that there was a worm in my food. I told them it was disturbing and they just said they apologized for the inconvenience. I found it unsettling that they didn't seem bothered at all. wow am I disappointed in this location. I don't believe I've ever put a single star review... but this experience just now deserves it... 7pm Friday evening in the pouring rain during so cal atmospheric river and place my order for dark chicken meal, two sides a wrap, and two cookies. Said give them 10-15 min since they're busy. Totally ok. So far so good right...??? They are watching me standing in rain and cold. Now almost 30 min since order and trying to be patient and I ask for a quick time check. Apparently the mobile terminal that they took my order on didn't go through despite them saying everything ok when I completed the order. No "oh my gosh I'm so extremely sorry we didn't catch that" nor "hey can i throw in the cookies for free given the situation"... just very nonchalantly had me repeat the order like we did before and they handed me print out receipt this time...just in case I get charged twice so I could get a refund. Waited another 10 min to get it. So now we are 40 min into this... The kicker is the atmospheric river. Pouring rain and cold and still trying to patronize their location but definitely makes me think twice when treated this way. Quick, fresh and clean! Despite how busy this storefront is, I was quickly served on a lunch rush. I tried the Ranch Wrap and Chicken Pasta Salad Side.
