I used to go to Blaze almost daily at the Lodi location. I gave it 5 star reviews. I loved it. Then unfortunately they closed down. Pretty soon every location in my area closed. You can imagine how excited I was to see this location is open. I ordered the same exact pizza as I usually ordered and from the beginning I noticed differences. There is a rack with multiple crusts already pressed and ready to go. I suppose this is ok, just different. Before it was pressed fresh as ordered. The white sauce looks curdled. It used to be a smooth creamy sauce. Not anymore. I was scared to even try my pizza because like I said, it looks curdled. The cheese looked the same before cooking the pizza. After I received the pizza cooked it looks very different. I don't know how to explain it. But it's like when the cheese melted it separated or something. Maybe the cheese is extra oily. This person who works at the Blaze Pizza is not someone you want to deal with. She will give you a hard time for anything you ask for. We were there on a Saturday evening, March 14th. We ordered two of the Build Your Own Pizzas, each costing $15.99. We wanted her to add more fresh mozzarella cheese because we only wanted cheese and some vegetables. She refused, and when I asked her to add more vegetables so refused again , she only put two basil leaves on the whole pizza. I was furious because I didn't ask her to garnish my pizza; it's called Build Your Own. I can ask for whatever I want, right? So my pizza was like two or 3 tiny pieces of cheese and some vegetables with 2 leaves. Then, she went ahead and told the cashier to charge us more. I was shocked because that was the most we had asked for on the menu. I didn't care about the money; I just wanted my pizza the way I wanted it. This woman clearly didn't have that in mind. The owner of this place should be aware of this because the experience was not pleasant. It sounded like I was begging her to get more stuff on my pizza, but I was paying for what I paid for. We came here around 11 am and were their first customers; however, none of the tables had been wiped, which is just gross. We had placed our order online because we were in a rush and were hoping to eat and get out in 30 minutes. When we showed up, our pizzas were in the front of the oven, not cooking. The two women working were busy chatting and it was maybe 15 minutes before they realized that they needed to push our pizza to the back of the oven so they'd cook. Even after they realized it, it took 1-2 minutes before they did anything because they clearly didn't care. There were no other customers or pizzas to be made at that time. We ended up waiting 30-40 minutes just for our pizzas to be ready...If we wanted to wait that long for a pizza, we would have gone to Mod. We had to hear them talking loudly through our entire meal, which was pretty uncomfortable. TLDR: dirty restaurant, slow service, had to listen to workers chatting the entire meal. read more

I went to pick up my order (which I clearly placed on Doordash for pick up) and it was already picked up by someone else. Staff refused to admit their error or make a new pizza. Which would easily solve the problem, and hella cheap to make a pizza too, instead blamed it on Doordash and didn't make a new pizza. When I hastily left, staff laughed and didn't admit their fault. I loved Blaze Pizza in college and I still love it now! Shoutout to Pie day for reminding me how nice it is to build my own pizza. They have so many options here! Since pie day, I've already been here 2 more times. I can usually finish around half the pizza so it's perfect to save for lunch the next day. I always forget that they can also add sauce on top after your pizza comes out of the oven. My favorite is the balsamic glaze and I always ask them to add a bunch of arugula! Ultimately, I give them 5 starts because they're always on top of it when it comes to customer service. This place had me so impressed that I had to write a review right away! I've been in many Blaze Pizzas, and I've never been to one this clean, especially by the end of the day. Usually the toppings are all mixed up in different bins, some ingredients look old or wilted, or there's barley anything stocked...not this one! Everything was organized, fresh, and filled to the brim. I also notice that many times the workers at these franchises often seem like college kids who don't always care about customer experience, or the food being the best it can. The staff here was super polite, super respectful, and totally aimed to please. I watched these guys make pizzas like it was art, and it was so refreshing! I know that sometimes these types of jobs don't always pay the best, and therefore don't always attract top tear employees, but whoever is hiring here and managing this place has it figured out. Not sure if this is a family owned location or not, but you can tell the people here care, which is always great to experience at a large chain restaurant. I think online orders take precedence. A lady in line told me to "build my own pizza." I added EVERYTHING on my pizza from chicken, bacon, pineapples, olives, peppers, and the list goes on and on. Decided to try Blaze pizza since I wanted to see how it compared to Mod. It's a bit of the same however I think Blaze has a little bit of edge. I liked how they gave you the option to make the pizza crispier (cook longer). I went for the 2-topping 11 inch with pepperoni and mushroom. I also had ranch on the side. Blaze in general is a solid place for those craving pizza but don't want to commit to a big family style pizza. I would say the dough wasn't great. Today was the first time I've had Blaze Pizza. I ordered the large BYO with the 4 dough knots. We had a variety of toppings - basil, red sauce, vegan cheese, mushrooms, ham, onions, meatballs. I ordered just before 8pm and requested a pick up time of 8:30. I arrived at 8:34, walked to the back and picked up my order from the shelf. It was still hot in the box. The crust is really good. It's a thin crust but strong/thick enough to hold all the toppings well. The cheese was a bit stronger than I expected but everything had a great flavor. The basil and onions were a great addition to the pizza. The dough knots were thick and heavy with strong garlic flavors. It came with marinara sauce, but very little of it. I think the plastic container was only 1/4 full. I expect more of the sauce for 4 dough knots and a dinner meant to serve 3-4 people. I can usually eat over half of a large pizza myself in one sitting, but this one was very filling and I only ate 3 pieces. Overall a good place. I'd come here again but won't get the dough knots again nor the vegan cheese. Solid 4 stars. read more

First time coming to this specific location. This Blaze Pizza is in a good area of Pleasanton! Resides in the plaza where there are several other types of food cuisines and has the 99 Ranch Market. Walked in on a Friday afternoon, but unfortunately took a long while to get noticed by any employee. Please note I was the only customer inside at this time. I stood by the front for a few minutes where I just witness a few male employees in the back listening to music but no eyes on the front of the restaurant. No one noticed me! Eventually, the young gentleman sees me and comes to take my order. Not a great start..... but the food makes up for a majority of it. Blaze Pizza is basically a "go down the line and add what you want". Like Chipotle or Subway. Genius right? I like Blaze because they have a good variety of toppings to choose from and all are prepped very well and great taste. I just add my unique taste with a nice end of pesto sauce and oregano to finish the deal. For the price of your own pizza at around $12 it's not too bad of a deal. I am a big eater and can usually eat the whole pizza in one sitting. I would come back to Blaze, but not sure about this location unfortunately due to the lack of service here. I visited this Blaze on a Tuesday night and it wasn't busy at all. The staff was very friendly and really put some effort into making my pizza. As of January 2020, a "Build Your Own" pizza was priced at $9.50 ish which came with unlimited toppings. Meanwhile, if you're a two-topping kind of person, it would be $7.50. A one-topping was priced at $6.50. In summary, the price was reasonable. For each "Build Your Own" pizza, I opted for the original dough with a classic red sauce. For the cheese, I went wild and requested multiple kinds, which they happily accommodated. I got mozzarella, ricotta and Gorgonzola. For the meat, I liked their wide selection from the classics such as pepperoni and Italian sausage to salami, ham and bacon. For the veggies, I opted for artichoke hearts, basil and red onion slices. I finished my pizza with arugula. I also got their desserts: a brownie and a sea salt chocolate cookie. Both were great, and I especially really liked the cookie. Came here for its grand opening and there was free pizza all day! I came about 10 minutes after it opened and there was a pretty long line (expected). It's located in the same plaza as 99 ranch which is convenient and there's lots of parking. Unfortunately there's no outdoor seating for people with dogs but the manager BJ said they will be adding outdoor tables and chairs with heaters after they acquire their alcohol license! Win situation! There's an assortment of seating inside and your typical queue in line and pizza making station. Considering the huge amount of people coming to order pizza, the staff did amazing!
