We just had a team lunch here with a group of about 17 or 18, and I realize my last review was from 3 years ago, so it's time to update. However, nothing has really changed that much in 3 years. The biggest difference is now you order via their kiosks instead of a cafeteria-like line. For large groups it's hard to get tables together, but a staff member was kind enough to put a few tables together so we could all sit together. A positive change is the food came out super quick. I ordered the same thing I always order, which is the Nioise salad with grilled salmon. It's exactly as I remembered. The salmon was grilled perfectly, not dry, and the salad was fresh. However, they forgot to give me the rustic bread that comes with it, and I didn't bother to ask. Everyone enjoyed their food and prompt service. read more

This is a great place to invite 2-8 friends at a time. There is no pressure to leave after you have eaten but to just enjoy quality time w/friends or family. It has been a number of years since I last visited & now it is more automated driven. You order at the kiosk then pick a number tag. So it is pretty simple & straightforward. There were only 2 kiosk stations that I noticed so I can imagine peak hours there would be a wait to order. Order: Blackened Sustainable Salmon w/Lemon Aioli sauce- this plate came w/2 sides of your choice & I decided on quinoa plus glazed brussel sprouts. The salmon was grilled perfectly moist & the aioli added the flavor to enhance the fish. My side if quinoa was fluffy & moist as well. The brussel sprouts were soft, but I wish that it had garlic salt instead of the drizzle of sweet sauce. Despite my preferred way of having the brussel sprouts, I still enjoyed every last bite. The food, waiter/waitress/front desk servers were all warm & welcoming which made the visit that much more desirable to dine in. I'll have to visit soon! read more

Ordered via their online app for pickup on Father's Day. The app is very user friendly and allows for customization of items. Items ordered: Wild Ahi Niçoise Salad- They changed their dressing from a mustard champagne vinaigrette to a balsamic basil vinaigrette. I didn't try this dressing, as I am not always a fan of balsamic dressing. Otherwise, this is one of my fav places for a fresh and delicious niçoise salad. The ahi tuna is always fresh and it is perfectly seasoned. Chimichurri steak plate- A fav of my friend's. Solid dish & good sized portion. Fresh baked chocolate chip cookie x2- These came fresh out of the oven and were perfection! The crispy edges and warm gooey cookie was amazing! Dee was so wonderful and helpful! I had ordered ahead of time but got two cookies when I saw them and she mentioned that they had just come out of the oven. We recently celebrated my mother's 88th at a luncheon here, a few weeks back. It's such a cute spot. So i decided I'd come to try again. As I'd noticed at the luncheon, the menu had changed a bit. So I tried a burger. It came with fries. It was exceptional! And the fries wow! Probably the best I've had in a while. The young man that helped me with my order seemed new. I had lunch with a friend here recently and we really enjoyed it. You order at the counter and they give you a number for your table. Food comes quick and is always tasty. I had the Crispy Onion Cheeseburger + Fries: chargrilled, 100% grass-fed beef, american cheese, crispy seasoned onions, organic tomato, pickles, lettuce, housemade thousand island on a grilled bun, served with herb seasoned fries. I also added avocado on top. The burger was very tasty. Nicely cooked and flavorful. Hot and crisp fries too. My friend had the Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich: hand sliced herb-roasted turkey breast, avocado, duroc pork bacon, havarti cheese, crisp lettuce, organic tomato, chipotle aioli, served on grilled rustic bread with chips. We were looking for "healthier" dinner options and found this place. Huge parking lot here, huge interior, plenty of places to sit. There was also a kiosk to order for days we don't want to talk to people lol. This one kinda reminded me of a more upscale chipotle or like Aquis because they also served alcohol. They have the build your meal option where you pick the protein and the sides. I got the fish and my boyfriend got the steak. I really liked the fish (barramundi was it?), nice and flaky, soft , subtle, the sauce compliments it well ( i think it was chimichurri). The sides I got were good, except I didn't care much for the garlic nread, maybe because it was cold. My boyfriend said his steak was bland, I think it would be better with sauce (which he opted out of), and the sides he got were good. Our drinks or aqua frescas were also pretty tasty. I really like the fact that there are so many healthy options here. The tables and chairs are cute. The food is pretty good. Healthy food! Delicious food! Also not hecking expensive! But really, this place is awesome. Not only can you customize what you want, they have calorie counts of almost everything so people who are health conscious, this is a good place for that. Weight loss too. I was able to get steak with an extra order of steak, rice, and mushrooms and I'm well under calorie compared to other places for same type of food. My husband got a burger, a side salad, and a draft cola drink. Their drinks are made with real sugar too so none of that additive stuff. Their service is amazing too. So many convenient ways to order from take out online to take out on their kiosk to dine in through kiosk, ordering at the table or their counter. Meh - yep that's it. Had a party of 5 at approximately 6:25pm on a Tuesday, paid around $150 (excluding a glass of wine that was rung up separately from the meal). For an order at a counter kinda place with no real waiter service, and not everyone ordering a drink - it felt kinda expensive for what we got portion, quality and taste wise. I personally ordered a steak meal that included 2 sides and the person who took my order was zero help in prompting for how the steak should or would be cooked, sauces for the meal being ordered, answering questions (like is the Caesar dressing creamy or vinaigrette type) or if anything else like drinks or desserts were needed. For someone who was new here it would have been helpful. I ended up having to ask for my plate to be cooked more. The food was just ok, and was like it was prepared before and just reheated (or attempted to be reheated since some was undercooked or cold) ate my whole meal since I paid so much and still left hungry. I had apparently been here once many years ago and it was very different back then - even remember walking the line like a cafeteria with hot fresh dishes in front of you to choose from. It was not like that this time. I ordered at a counter and found my own table. Someone came to drop the food from the kitchen and tha was it. No one checked on us or anything. Nice cafeteria with fresh and healthy meals. Inside is nicely decorated with a cozy ambiance. I love the wooden floors and tables that brings out a natural look with all the plants decoration . Menu is posted at the front entrance as well as on line . If you join the membership for $5 one month , you get 20 % off on all your entries. We ordered the grilled portobello ‍ mushrooms burger and seafood chowder ( soup and sandwich) , a full size mixed beets salad with dressing in the side , free rusty bread , and a add on order of 5 grilled garlic shrimp with Parmesan butter . I like Urban Plates because there seems to be something for everyone! It has good variety without having an overwhelming menu (like The Cheesecake Factory). The desserts looked amazing (I have yet to try them). I really like the bread they serve sandwiches on it as a side with a salad. I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 because they changed my favorite Asian chicken salad to a noodle salad (instead of a green salad) and it's not nearly as good, in my opinion :( The staff at this location was very good (you order & pay at the counter when you first get there and they bring you food out to your table when it ready). So, even though it's not traditional waiter service make sure to give them a tip! read more

First time here. Me and my bf are vegetarian/ vegan so finding casual food is always a challenge. This place was fresh, delicious and a good price just wish they had more main options of course but it was more than what we are usually used to, so can't complain. Also has a good decor/ vibe. Love how they labeled each dish whether is gluten free or dairy free which I have to watch out for now. We got the beef and mushroom braise with turmeric rice. Hubby got the Moroccan chicken with rice pilaf. Both were spicy. I think my beef dish is not spicy but the turmeric rice. I also added $1 for the gluten free bread which was not tasty to me. Hubby got the pineapple mango cantaloupe juice. He liked it but I didn't care for it. He had a sample before getting it. Both dishes tasted very good but were very small portion. I went there today to return the Parmesan Shrimp dinner I purchased the day before because some of the items I ordered were not cooked the way I've had them before. I thought he probably wasn't cooking the day I purchased my meal, and I was right. I called and spoke with Chef to tell him about my meal and he told me to come to Urban Plates. He apologized for my inconvenience, issued me a refund, ordered a new Parmesan Shrimp dinner, and gave me a gift card. He demonstrated incredible customer service! I highly recommend the dinners at Urban Plates because there are many food options and the food is very good and reasonably priced. Stopping in omw to SF for the weekend! The ambience is super chill here! Lots of open seating & helpful service. Remember to grab your own utensils & napkins at the counter -- they only deliver the food, so get everything you need before you sit. The veggies are super fresh, as is the oil they make the fries in! I'm here with a friend & we're both big fans of the French fries! We asked for the avocado on the side so I could have half of my friend's club & usually places forget -- they did not! The soup wasn't quite hot, but it was such a small portion, one bite & it was over, so I didn't bother mentioning it. Parking is super easy & some spots are shaded by trees. Thanks to a recommendation, I had the opportunity to try Urban Plates (Dublin). While the food options were eye catching and colorful, the service was far from good. I think it's probably best to order ahead or use the self service machine to order. Doing it on a phone is not ideal. Plus, the servers seemed confused or uncoordinated -- even our drinks ended up outside somehow. When we had a question about add-on the server said he'd be right back, but ended up taking a really long time. Also, the food portion size was unbalanced -- it felt like the three bears. While my aunt received a big luscious plant based bowl (papa's size porridge), my mom received a medium bowl (mama's size porridge), and I received an itty bitty sandwich and soup (baby size porridge). So it's a wild card based on what you order. The lemonade was sour and delicious! Overall, I'd give it another try some day. read more

Ok. Updated review. Stopped by after Whole Foods shopping bc was too hungry to go home and cook. This place tastes like... cafeteria food. I don't know how else to describe it. It's just not yummy. I actually liked the greens of the salad - it wasn't bad - but the steak was so tough and hard to chew it hurt my teeth. Meat should never taste like that unless it's an under $5 meal. The chicken tenders were pretty bready but it was much better than the steak. Overall, it was just not that yummy. Don't think I'll ever come back here honestly. I've been eating at Urban Plates on occasion for many years. On my last visit, there was a notable lack of service with the new electronic ordering kiosks. The food was not as good as I remembered, nor were the portion sizes what they used to be. I miss the on tap kombucha; I was shocked to pay $7 for what ended up being bottled kombucha. This place has lost a big part of what felt special about it to me - the ordering what you could see in the line. You used to be able to see your food before ordering. It felt fast and efficient, and I always felt confident with my choices before I even paid. Now, service felt slow, disconnected, and expensive for what we got. Not bad. Visiting from Hawaii and most times when I travel away from the islands, I am not really satisfied with the food due to the fact that plain rice is not served in every dish. Northern California has been good so far and urban plates were no different, they actually had rice that wasn't flavored with all kinds of things. The service was great and most of the workers were very nice. They did make a mistake by charging me an extra drink but the worker bringing out the food was quick to help me when I told him. The worker at the register however was not so friendly. He made the mistake and I got sent to him to fix it and he was not friendly at all. The other cashier though was nice. She helped my daughter with drinks and my daughter came back to our table saying how nice the worker was. The ambiance was relaxed... did seem like it could be a high end fancy restaurant but it was not. It's relaxed and food is priced pretty good for what you get. It's affordable there. The food was good. I enjoyed my meal, along with the kids. The other half did not like the food but she did like the cake that she got. The food overall is decent, not bad but nothing special neither. Would I go there again? Probably not unless it's near by and they're one of the only restaurants open. I'll take them over fast food spots for sure but not something I'd make a drive for. read more

Came here for lunch and got lucky the line wasn't too bad. They have a menu displayed outside to make it easier to figure out what you want when you go inside into the line. The cashier was really friendly and let me have a sample of the fresh juice that I wasn't sure which to pick. The menu has lots of good options and the prices are on the high side, but the quality of the food is worth it. Everything tastes fresh and put together well. I love the Beets Avocado Bowl with a side of grilled shrimp. Love the Kombucha on tap and the banana creme pie is amazing! My husband loves the food here also. First time eating here. The menu looked amazing and the atmosphere was pleasant and welcoming. Food had mixed results. Daughter had kids cheeseburger and fries. Burger was overcooked and tough so she didnt eat and honestly it was tough for me to eat it. I had the Mediterranean chicken plate and it was lukewarm immediately upon digging into it. I should have sent it and the burger back but i hate being that customer. Wife ordered salmon plate and she said it was cooked well and was tender not dry and was "yummy". Service was nice, hostess/cashier was very pleasant and welcoming. Server dropped our food, but i guess its self-service after that because you have to get your own silverware, drink refill and no check-in afterwards. Disappointing. read more
