We ended up getting overcharged, but hopefully if i let them know they will fix it next time. Pizza on Tuesday is on special buy one get one 2 topping free (must purchase 1 overpriced drink). Mod has it together better but they are trying. No cucumbers for salad and other toppings for salad were less. Pizza was barely cheesed but we did ask for more and they didn't hesitate to put it on 1. Pictured was about 35 dollars of food. Will i go back yes/probably for a Tuesday deal but not a regular like at Mod. They can do better and I think Management knows that as they were kind. This is fast food pizza. Unless you order online like I did, you go through the line picking out toppings to have your pizza fired at the end. I don't know how fast it is when you order in the restaurant, but I think some younger kids were getting their cheesy bread out of the oven pretty quickly. For the three of us, we ordered a "Red Vine" (margharita pizza), a meat lover's pizza and the BLT salad. Everything was really reasonably priced with the entree salad costing ~$8. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the pizza crust was; I rarely eat pizza crust, but this pizza crust was worth it! Online ordering and pick up were really easy. read more

Went here tonight and ordered two pizzas. They were not using their oven instead pizzas were going through conveyor oven. I asked why and nobody knew why??? They were awful. If I want conveyor oven pizza I'll order from Dominos. The oven appeared to be working it said 543 degrees but they just were not cooking in it. Ok, from now on i will no longer judge a place by its customer service IF that place is paying minimum wage. I dont know what they pay at Blaze, but the guy taking orders (first person you talk to when you walk in) was really nice and polite. The guy cooking the pies was over it, and i get it. I had ordered about 4 minutes previously (i work close to this location) and although the online order said 15-20 minutes (this is at 12:05pm, strong lunchtime (parking is a pain in the ass in this shopping center) i waited probably about 2 minutes, if that. I gave the pizza cooker guy my name and he didnt say anything and took out about 4 pizzas, one after another, and then took the first one, cut it drizzled it with olive oil (i asked for that) and then put it in a box. I had to ask him if this was mine, as a gal had also walked up and checked the box too. I grabbed my pizza and bolted. Came back to work and dug in, with my ice tea. Their unsweetened ice tea is damn good! Freshly brewed and great! You would be surprised at how many places screw up ice tea, or serve old stale tea. The pizza was great! Nice crust, huge pieces of mozzarella, fresh toppings! One weird thing, no parmesan and no hot peppers? Or at least i wasnt offered any. The menu is pretty awesome online and in store, and the ingredients where fresh! I really like this place better than MyPie, which is also in the area. Dont be too mean to young people working minimum wage jobs, Give them a break. I absolutely love Blaze Pizza and went frequently when living in CA. I wanted to bring friends there earlier this week to compare to the other fast-fired pizza in town and was incredibly disappointed. The outdoor furniture clearly had not been wiped down and/or cleaned in some time. Upon entering, the glass counter top was filthy; the preparation area was also in serious need of cleaning. We actually left without ordering. I'm hoping the franchise owner sees this review and addresses the issue; I haven't given up on Blaze Pizza, but will need to see serious improvement before actually ordering/eating there. The most awful pizza I've ever had bare in mind it was a GF chicken one but hardly no chicken no banana peppers the agrula was So shriveled up could see the basil as well and the dough was inconsistent! As much as I love pizza, I'm not a fan of Blaze. Crust is too thin so it's usually overcooked with burnt edges. Toppings are dry and sparse so you don't get a pizza experience. It seems to have a following, possibly cause it puts out a quick pizza cause there's no cook time for such a thin crust. It's also a small, one size pie. I gave it a 2 cause the crew is so friendly and speedy. read more

Called Blaze Pizza to see if dine in was available as hubby & I thought we would give them a second try as first time pizza was not all that great ( doughy etc). We really wanted pizza & beer so I called 15 min before driving down the hill to see a) are they open for dine in and b) do they serve beer. I'll start by saying the food was very good. The quality of ingredients, flavor, texture, all around awesome. We got several pizza's, some cheesy bread & a few dessert treats (brownies & s'more's cookies) and loved it all. The staff and service however :( We stood at the beginning of the line looking at the menu (thankfully we were the only customers in line) the employee helping us was Kelsie. She did not offer any help, did not ask us if we had any questions.. she actually didn't say anything at all and just stared at us. Clearly you could tell we were confused and just trying to figure out how and what to order. I asked her what sizes the pizza crusts come in to see if I was going to share or get my own, and she pointed at a pre made crust in front of her. (Again no words) Sean, the other employee jumped in &offered that we select a "build your own" pizza. As I'm reading the cheese options he just begins throwing mozzarella on the pizza. Whatever I don't mind but odd that he didn't ask what cheese I wanted. As we ate you could see the employees just seemed so unhappy. Nobody was smiling, nobody was offering customers any extra help. Idk but being in customer service, you need a little more positive energy, or at LEAST a smile? I felt bad for them but all we could do was be extra nice & hope it helped. If we hadn't ordered the fresh mozzarella on one pizza, this review would be higher. The highs--the crust was BOMB. Fire cooked and the flavor was on point. We added the cheesy bread and it came with dipping sauce, which we had to use for our pizzas, because apparently they don't really sauce their pizzas. Pics below. Three of us ate slices of each pizza--one pineapple and ham, shredded mozzarella was delightful! The second, sliced mozzarella with red onion and Italian sausage...meh. Loved the sausage, but boy, where was the rest of it?!? This was our first time eating pizza here, and we are snobs for good pizza. Normally order Pizza Plus, but we recently moved and didn't have that option. Would've ordered Papa Johns, but they're not delivering near us currently, so here we are. Like I said, if it had been just the Hawaiian pizza, 4 out of 5. Instead, 3 out of 5, ya'll. Do better and just add more sauce and toppings! Don't chinch! read more

Literally sat there for 20 minutes waiting for my pizza after I placed an online order so I waited to the side patiently not saying a word. As I was sitting there I watched a worker in a bucket hat with the SAME gloves eat food off to the side (not even in the back employee area) eat his breadsticks and go back to cutting pizzas and topping them with the SAME GLOVES. As he was chewing his breadsticks he was munching over the pizzas he was chopping up. Then, maybe every 2 minutes or so he would use the same gloves to keep pulling up his pants. So much nasty cross contamination going on. I was the only person waiting for food at the time and nobody even told me my pizza was done or even bothered to ask me what I waiting for as I sat at the chair closest to the oven LITERALLY STARING AT THEM (I hoped the awkward stares would incite them to ask me if I needed help, but nope). So I proceeded to ask the lady working there twice and I swear she looked at me like I was invisible and then continued cleaning without saying A WORD. So I asked again and she just ignored me. I felt like I was in a twilight zone. I finally got my pizza by going up to the oven after I realized all the pizzas have been cooked and asked for it and he was like "oh sorry, here" Avoid this place unless you want some nasty chewed up breadstick crumbs by the oven guy in the bucket hat. Come here if you want to be ignored and curious if your stomach can withstand whatever mixture is on that guys gloves. read more

I used to eat here a lot, unfortunately the food is no longer safe to eat. One of their employees frequently comes in sick, coughs all over the food, and frequently touches her face while preparing the food. I reported this to the manager a few weeks ago, but came back today and the problem was worse than ever. read more

Loved the thin crust and cheese was perfectly melted with savory pepperoni and sausage. Crunchy crust too without being burnt. The bread was probably made from the crust but loved the cheesy pesto combo! The marinara on the side and availability of toppings was another plus. Only thing was the guy taking payments was literally on the phone making us wait for his conversation to finish which was super rude. But we didn't come here for the service! There are so many "Build-Your-Own" pizza places popping up so obviously it was time to try Blaze. It being my first time there I was a little nervous and decided to try one of the signature pizzas: the Green Stripe. The Green Stripe has: chicken, red peppers, garlic, mozzarella, arugula, and a pesto drizzle. There were several different sauces including red, spicy red, white, and pesto. There are also many additional toppings that you can add to your pie. They all come in one size, but you do have to option of a half pie. I ended up choosing the high-rise crust (as opposed to the gluten free), spicy red sauce, and added pepperoni and Italian sausage. The crust was thin, chewy and had a good crunch. I thought the toppings were a little light but I'm sure you could ask for more. Also the pesto drizzle and arugula were forgotten. My friend ordered a White Top: white cream sauce, mozzarella, bacon, garlic, oregano, arugula, and added whole roasted garlic as well. This one was also pretty good, but not quite as flavorful as other BYOP places in town. They also had 4 drinks (besides the soda fountain) that were all super tasty and refreshing! There was a strawberry agua fresca, a mango agua fresca, lemonade, and my favorite: the blood orange lemonade. Definitely try that if they have it! Being the first time, I was unfamiliar with the place and didn't ask for everything I wanted. One bite in though, I was already thinking about what I wanted to try next time! I'm interested in trying their half-pizza and salad combo next. That was a very unique thing that I haven't seen elsewhere. In terms of crust and number of available toppings, Longboard is still #1 for me but Blaze is a solid second for BYOP in Reno. read more

A build your own pizza place that allows you to create your own order from scratch or select from some signature combination options. It has a Chipotle-style setup where you can choose which toppings you want then they put it in the oven. I went with two signature combination pizzas: the Green Stripe (chicken pesto) and Hot Link (spicy version of a supreme). Both pizzas came out cooked well with no burnt edges. They had thin crust but a good amount of toppings. The pesto drizzle and arugula were a nice touch on top of the Green Stripe, but the rest of the flavor of the pizza was underwhelming compared to other chicken pesto pizzas I've had. I did really like the Hot Link one though! It was nice having a little bit of spice to compliment the other flavors. If I lived in South Reno this could be a great lunch spot as they have some deals for weekday lunches! I was pleased with my meal, the quick service, and affordable prices for a meal that left me feeling decently full. It's a step above fast food but still below other local sit down restaurant options. read more

This was my cheat meal, since I have been trying to get back on track with my nutrition and fitness, so I was really looking forward to this. My meatball and ovalini pizza was great. I had them top it with ton to veggies. Definitely gotta put the fresh minced garlic on pizza if you are a garlic lover. Even if it was a cheat meal, I felt like I was still eating healthy. I'm into this whole BYO, "pizza whatever the heck way you want it" concept. You get to build the pizza of your dreams and it costs $10 or less in almost all cases. Pretty good deal and experience overall. I had some really high expectations when it came to Blaze. I'd watched the company sweep across the country like wild fire (get it?) and after a few other BYO concepts opened, they finally opened a location here too. I'd seen about a million friends visit their local Blaze stores, cook up stellar looking pies, and brag endlessly about how good they were, so I really wanted my experience to stand up. I built my own pie on their traditional crust with red sauce, bacon, pepperoni, sauteed onion, fresh garlic, meatballs, ricotta, parm and mozz, and a drizzle of pesto to top it off. I asked for the pie well done, to make sure it crisped top to bottom, and moved down the line to wait for it to emerge from the oven. True to form, the pizza cooked quickly, and they left it in a few minutes longer per my request, resulting in a nice crisp with a little char. Unfortunately they also left my wife's gluten free pizza in there that long as well, which came out with some very dark edges that I wouldn't call charred. Overall the pizza was good, but I had higher hopes based on the experiences of my friends. The food at Blaze is just a good example of a personalized pizza. I'd hoped something might've set them apart, but alas, nothing jumped out. I'd say they're my second fave BYO pizza spot now though. read more

I love pizza, and Blaze sent us a coupon for a free pizza. My husband and I went on a weeknight to try them, and lordy, I disliked their pizza. The dough was too chewy and did not have the right flavor. It took a long time to get through the line, and I could not hear the person who was making my pizza well because of the loud music. There is not a good waiting area to pick up one's pizza, so everyone ends up crowding around the area where the drink machine is. That makes it difficult to access the drink dispenser. I also think the parking lot in that shopping area is a mess to deal with. Whereas MOD does not differentiate in price whether you have two toppings or ALL THE TOPPINGS, Blaze does. I guess that's advantageous if you are a two-topping sort of person. I'm an all the toppings kind of gal, though, so we will be going to MOD instead. read more

We've come here once a week since they opened and now it's become a tradition. You could call it Subway for pizzas. You literally build your own pie and they bake it. They have Signature pizzas for you to follow or you start from scratch and create your own masterpiece! I usually order the Meat Eater pizza and end up changing it all, anyway! lol. But it's all good! They have a Lunch hack which is half a pie with unlimited toppings for $5. Simple Salads like arugula and fruit or classic Caesar. You can even Take Two: half a pizza and Dough knots or a salad. It reminds me of the east coast pie. The red sauce and dough are crazy great! All the extras are great, too. They even have different sauces for drizzling after your creation leaves the oven. Cool! What a neat concept...you pay for the size of the crust and you get all the toppings you crave at no extra cost! I also love the variety of soft drinks. Let's talk Agua Fresca, iced tea, lemonade in addition to the sodas and of course water. I make Arnold Palmers for the two of us. There is limited seating but plenty of parking.
