When we moved to Gardner two years ago, this place was amazing. Recently though they ended their BBQ menu items which was kind of sad. My grandmother loved the BBQ sandwiches. Recently I've had some issues there though. I had a plate of nachos with incredibly stale chips. I was on a time crunch for work, so I didn't say anything about it figuring it was just a one-off. The second issue came a couple months after that. I went in to try the nachos again. I ordered it to go and waited for it. They called my name and the older guy from the back handed me a tray. I kindly said "Oh, that was supposed to be to go" and he got pretty rude about it. So that sorta put me off again from going back. Today I went with a co-worker to give it another shot. I ordered the chili, which I'd had before. When they brought it to the table they asked if I ordered it spicy. I said no. And they left. Which was odd. So, I started into it and it was so spicy I could barely stomach it. I come from a family that eats a lot of spice, Cajun primarily. But this was actually just way too much. So I went up to the register and asked if the chili was supposed to be that spicy now. The response was "Well, it depends on who makes it that day and our special is also spicy chili hot dogs today so they may have accidentally given you that." And that's all she said. They didn't offer to replace it with normal chili or at least give me something else to eat. So I had to buy something. Asked for the baked potato and they were out of that. Ended up settling for fries. I'm probably done with the place now after that. I'd rather drive up to Olathe to get something else at this point. read more

I would say Blazer's has good food. What I would not recommend is using them as a caterer. I waited a year to write this review as I was so angry on my wedding day with Wally, I knew I would be unfair to write something right after the event. My mother and I spent time during my wedding photos on the phone with Wally attempting to convince him to actually bring our food to the wedding. You see Wally was pissed off because our wedding venue had a time line for caterers, which he didn't read and showed up early. Unfortunately the venue was not flexible (which was annoying) and would not let him in early. He went back to Gardner from Baldwin City and refused to return. When I spoke with him and told him he was ruining our wedding day he started screaming and cussing at me. My mom finally talked some sense into him and they came back, but I experienced some unneeded and unwanted stress due to this business and I highly recommend using someone else for catering. I will say the food was good, because I am an honest person and feel I need to be truthful, but he needs to work on his people skills. read more

What a pleasant suprise for my stop off for a lunch at Blazers. I don't often make my way through Gardner as I live 30 min away, but my job had taken me to Gardner. I had previously visited Blazers over a year ago, and was VERY dissapointed with both the customer service and the food. In fact, on my last visit a year ago, they were out of lettuce and cheese and were completely un-apologetic. I decided to re-visit the place only because it was lunch time, and I was thinking I could pick up a quick burger. When I walked in I could immediately tell that the place was under new management. It was busy, clean, and the staff greeted me with the utmost kindness. It truly made my day! To go further, the nice lady at the front made several suggestions on what was popular and explained the special. I went with the BBQ pulled pork, and smothered it with bbq sauce. It was awesome. Also, I tried the chive and sour cream freshly cut and cooked fries. They were absolutely fantastic! At the end of my meal, I asked one of the employees how long it had been since they took it over. She said 1 year. I have to tell you, it was like night and day difference. They added BBQ ribs/brisket and pork. Cooked right outside on there smoker. This place is a dive bar with class, and perfect customer service. I will be telling my friends about this place, and making occassional special trips out of my way to have a lunch there. Kudos to the staff...You all have a rockin place! You should be proud. read more

Wow! What a great place. Well worth drive to Gardner. We split three meals for 4 of us. The brisket is awesome. Loved it. Loose meat style very lean. My favorite. And I hate loose meat brisket. The burgers were good. And the fried chicken was awesome. My wife thought it was scrumptious. Our neighboring diners said the tenderloins are good. The lady behind counter said the pulled pork was popular. The beans were boring. The fries were ok. The ice cream cones (soft serve) have something called a flavorburst. 6 flavors to choose from like cheesecake and strawberry! Wow! It had striped of flavoring on sides of cone! Never had anything like it. Huge. It was good and reasonable for only a buck fifty! Loved this place. Can't wait to go back. Heard about it at the Olathe Chamber! Make the drive South you won't be disappointed. The place is open on Sundays, and in business despite what other reviewers said. A great surprise! read more

We went there as a group of 9 motorcyclist and they were fantatstic. As a rule I have always called ahead to see how many people a small business can handle. The staff there at Blazers were superb and handled everything perfectly. The food was great and an excellent value. I would recommend them and we will be going there again for sure. read more

Let me preface this by saying that I LOVE BLAZERS, however, The burnt-ends at this place are absolutely horrible. I have gotten them 3 times in the last 2 weeks, hoping each time that the quality would improve. Unfortunately the opposite has transpired. My order of burnt ends this third time were absolutely the worst burnt ends I have ever had in my 32 years and I have eaten countless orders of burnt ends being from KCK. The microwave they were warmed up in probably didn't do much to help this. I would relate the experience to eating little pieces of rubber with gristle in them that tastes like smoke, not a pleasant experience to say the least. I advise either not serving burnt ends 2 weeks after they are made, learn how to prepare them properly or stop serving them period. read more
