We ate here years ago and decided to use our gift cards for dinner and a movie. We ordered at the front counter and the hostess told my wife the mushroom burger was not spicy. The hostess tried to seat us in the bar and we declined. There were multiple TVs playing the same Basketball game. When her burger arrived, it was very spicy and tears came to her eyes. The waiter Peyton W apologized and told us the cook said the onions were spicy. Peyton gave my wife some milk. I finished my Bacon Bacon burger by the time her replacement mushroom burger came out She said the new burger did not taste very good. My burger was basically fast food quality. We were both done with our meals and sat there waiting for our dessert. Nobody brought it and our movie was starting, so I walked up to the hostess was using a marker on a large poster. She said she would get it to us in a box to go, but continued marking the poster for several more minutes before bringing our dessert. So, kudos to Peyton W, but demerits to the hostess and the food. Conclusion: This place seems to be a sports bar with 'bar-food', so if you are looking for a restaurant experience this is not the place for that. read more

I was in Lynwood on other business and decided to check out the Alderwood Mall. Since it was lunchtime and I was hungry, my first stop was the food court! I found that the restaurant was Blazing Onion Burgers. I had never been to one, so I decided to eat there today. When I entered the restaurant I was greeted by a nice young lady and she explained that there were two seating areas. To the right was a dining area and patrons would place their order with her and then find a table to relax at in the dining area. Or, to the left was a lounge area that offered full service. I opted for the lounge area. When I entered the lounge area I received another friendly greeting from the bartender and asked for my drink choice and was presented with a menu. After looking over the menu, I chose the Texas Heat burger and the Spicy Cajun Fries. The burger was quite tasty and VERY juicy! I was supplied with a stack of paper napkins and I was very thankful for that because I needed almost all of them I was very disappointed with the Spicy Cajun Fries though . I have very particular tastes when it comes to fries. My fries have to be hot, crispy, and tasty. These fries were not hot nor were they crispy. They did have a nice flavor thanks to the seasoning used. I would probably return often if I didn't live an hour and a half away! I was looking for a quick bite and decided to order a turkey burger from here. I guess because they have pretty good reviews on Uber eats I expected something good. However, this turkey burger was the most unimpressive turkey burger I have ever eaten. It fell pretty flat as it tasted seasonless with not one memorable aspect of the burger. The fries were slightly above average. I will say that everything was packaged well, with utensils and ample napkins. That, and pricing being pretty average, were the two major pluses of this experience. We didn't actually get to order anything because we were sitting in the bar section.We've been this bar section many times. Just last week in fact. My husband is 62 and did not have his drivers license on him. They stated it was state law that you have to have your license. Washington state does not require this. If you look under 30 you must have your license. My husband does not look even close to being under 30. Perhaps this is restaurant policy, but that is not what we were told. We've been to this location many times and never had this problem. You do have to present this up upon a request, but given the number of times we've been to this location and NEVER were asked. It was clearly a choice not a necessity. Very disappointed the manager also misstated state law. So don't forget your wallet. Let me start off by saying this could easily turn into a 5-star review after a few more visits. It was a little intimidating to try for the first time, as the outside really gave me the appearance of being along the lines of a nicer fast-food joint (I was thinking like Smash Burger or Five Guys), but that thought quickly went away when we walked inside. Ultimately, the set-up was confusing for a first timer, but not something I want to hold against the restaurant since it turned out so well. You make an order at the front counter, paying ahead unless you ask to keep a tab open, and then find a seat in what looks like a nicer family sit-down area. It's not a big open space, but a winding seating area with a full service bar towards the front. As you seat yourself and place the number at the end of the table, the concern was whether the waiter would have an easy time finding your table. For us it turned out fine, but we didn't get a chance to try out the call buttons at the end of the table, we didn't end up needing anything more and paid ahead so we didn't need to ask for a check. I will say it was pretty nice to pay ahead and have the freedom to just leave afterwards. Now, the food. There's really not much to say outside of absolutely delicious. I walked in almost wishing not to like it so I wouldn't have to come back to the explained set-up, so I certainly was not ready for the amazing food we were served. This is one of the best burgers I have ever tasted loaded with flavor, perfectly cooked, and dripping with grease just like an old fashioned burger from the 50's and 60's when flavor really mattered. The service was friendly and outstanding. The is a sports bar but a family friendly restaurant too. They have other locations but unfortunately, the closest location to where we live is Marysville. Today was my first time eating at a Blazing Onion Burger location, which I now see is a local chain. My daughter, who is nearly 12yo, had her first ever "solo" hanging-with-friends-at-the-mall experience for a besties bday event. Armed with her purse, phone, Christmas money, and my sage advice on how to handle cash transactions - and the bday girl's mom and brother trailing the group for the 4-hr event at a tweenager-approved distance - I was free to take myself out to shop and lunch. After checking in on all my dine-in mall options on the interactive directory, I decided to go with BOB as I was starving and also haven't had a great burger in a long time. Walking in, it feels like your typical mall fast-casual restaurant. I went through into the lounge and seated myself- haven't sat at a bar in over 2 years, so it definitely felt a little surreal. FOOD: After quickly perusing the menu, a glass of wine (Pinot Grigio) and the sliders & fries combo were calling to me. It's not on the menu, but the bartender mentioned that the sliders can be customized with pulled pork or bbq chicken. I was definitely craving the beef, which is their original Blazing Onion signature burger, but for the slider version it is modified to hold most of the groceries and only comes with the cheese + caramelized onions + BOB sauce (typical burger sauce these days, thanks In-and-Out!). I made a few updates - I can't stand cheese on my burger and I hate the large amount of caramelized onions put into such advertised 'burgs, and asked for it on the side. The burgers were tasty, but the fries were - meh. I prefer my fries thin and crispy, but can handle it if it's different. But when they come out not hot, well that kills the fry mood fo' sure! AMBIANCE: TV in my line-of-sight was set to the Beijing Winter Olympics and a favorite podcast played in my earbuds. Plus aforementioned reentry into a somewhat pre-pandemic semblance of normal and knowing the kiddo was occupied with the friendsies. Nothing to fault. SERVICE: Confusing.. there were several people tag-teaming together into all the different areas of the restaurant so there was this weird combination of periods of noone at the bar versus all, but then you didn't know who to ask if you needed something. I'm guessing short staffed and I'm trying to be compassionate with the pandemic restaurant industry challenges. But I wasn't asked if I needed any condiments when I received my meal (not even ketchup for my fries) and realized halfway through my meal that I didn't have any water. So definite improvements to be made! Overall, just fine... and a decent experience to remind me that life will return again, soon. read more

Sunday before 4th of July was my first time coming here and it was a great visit. The restaurant was very clean, staff was friendly and the food was great. Only issue was food took 45 minutes to come because of the system crashing. Waiter apologized several times, but were never upset. Blazing Onion has been a place I've mainly gone for drinks in the past, but this time I decided to try the teriyaki sandwich. Per usual, I sat in the bar because I like the atmosphere. It's calm and relaxed in there and I really do like the vibes. My waitress was an older lady who cracked a few jokes and I was overall pleased with the service here. The sandwich was good and the drinks kept coming. If I had to compare the food quality to another chain, it reminds me of Red Robin. Still a great place for drinks! read more

Today I went back and I ordered the bbq pull pork sandwich. The bun an artisan bun. Too thick and chewy I prefer the regular hamburger bun. The cole slaw overwhelmed the sandwich I mean it more cole slaw than pulled pork. Quite honestly they must of given me the wrong sandwich. I better stick to a bbq joint. From the start, we had great service. Our waitress was always there checking to see if we needed anything and offering refills. I ordered the Buffalo burger with Cajun fries and my husband got the Jalapeño burger with sweet potato fries. So it's my fault for not noticing that ubereats was offering a deal for the Alderwood location and not the Mill Creek location. This is my second review two stars is generous. Not all of this is going to be the restaurants fault but the quality of the food definitely is. I ordered through Uber Eats and there was some deal because two other people were ordering at the same time as me so to pair my delivery with those two I would save a delivery fee. (After the order was complete/delivered I end up finding out I saved literally $0.49) I did that and I placed an order for a burger with no onions with ingredients did not list pickles one of my least favorite ingredients ever. My burger came full of pickles. There was hardly a tiny squirt of sauce on each side of the bun. The lettuce was fine, tomatoes were fine the burger was not cooked well at all in the majority of the middle was pink. Of course the order arrived cold probably due to pairing it with other deliveries but the packaging that they use is the cheapest most basic cardboard I have seen come from any restaurant, that does nothing to maintain the temperature of the food or hold in the contents. ( if you've ever ordered from Red Robin this is the polar opposite as far as packaging goes.) There are many other restaurants that provide more sustainable heat maintaining packaging that are also more secure and sealed. They give you a paper bag that's stapled and flimsy basic cardboard containers that do nothing to contain liquids or protect from contaminants that could fly into the bag. I threw the burger in the toaster oven for five minutes after it arrived cold and still the majority of middle was pink(ordered medium well) I also added my own cheese and I ate around the edge of the burger (cooked part) and threw away the middle because it was not good and I kept finding random shreds of like uncooked meat in the middle and it "felt" uncooked when I was biting into it. Although I'm disappointed with my order, I did not lower the tip for the Uber Eats driver and I even donated to the restaurant, with my order.. but I'm extremely disappointed. I really wish that this location could offer the same quality as the Mill Creek location. Since right now we're experiencing a pandemic I should note that most restaurants are only doing take out --and if you're only doing the one thing which is take out/delivery (not needing to set up/restock or take care of normal daily restaurant operations or tend to guests in the restaurant) it's your chance to actually get it right & focus entirely on the quality of the food as well as the safety and quality of the packaging. When customers feel that their thoughtfully prepared food is packed well and secure and especially when it arrives still warm, they are happier even if the taste isn't as good as always or an item is forgotten. But when the quality is poor and the packaging doesn't give you any reassurance and it arrives cold with unexpected items it's just a completely unsatisfying experience. read more

Given that the Blazing Onion is more or less a Seattle metro area institution, there's absolutely no way I would've had this on the radar had my friends not spoken highly about the place. Usually I want to try the food options that appeal moreso to out-of-towners. But sometimes, one needs a proper burger at a sitdown restaurant. What I like about the menu is that there are literally a multitude of burger options at your disposal. And if those aren't good enough, you can make your own. Nothing better than a proper burger cooked medium rare! And comes with the bottomless fries to boot, although these days the burger and the fries on their own are more than enough. Plus I love that they have one of those "make your own soda" machines. Service was solid, our waitress was really nice and accommodating. Have no complaints. If I'm in the area and craving a burger, I'll definitely stop by again. read more

I have been to this place many times but the last few times the service is not good and the food is always served cold!! I was there yesterday with a friend and we ordered onion rings for an appetizer which took a little long time to bring to us., and when they did bring them to us they were not hot. I noticed our waiter was hanging out in the alcove over by the door to the patio and on his phone., I almost went over and asked him to go check on our food since it was taking so long. We also ordered fish and chips and the black bean burger and tater tots and when we got that food it was also not hot. I wish I would've complained when I was there but I was hungry so I ate part of it. My tater tot's were not hot and my burger was not hot. The fish and chips were also not hot!! This has happened at this location before. The problem yesterday was the waiter., As he was busy playing on his phone and not bringing the food to us while it was hot!!
