What an overall pleasant experience. I have frequented Blend on multiple occasions but figured after my recent double experience in a week I should spend some time on a review. Definitely the largest selection of a walk in humidor in central Indiana. There certainly are not many Davidoff certified cigar bars and Blend delivers. No matter your experience or knowledge there is no pretense. Just let them know what you like and what you are looking for and they will supply a variety of purchase options at different prices. Not only do they offer a great selection of cigars but they also have a nice variety of whiskeys to choose from. In fact, they have even had Four Roses barrel select just for the bar. Where else can you have choice options for a cigar and whiskey in Indy? The seating is comfortable - either at the bar, high top table, leather couch, or canopy chair are all options. Their ventilation system is definitely an investment as even if you are not there for a cigar you won't feel overwhelmed by the smoke. read more

Blend is very overrated. We showed up and got horrible service. My cigar was not well cared for in their humidor and was a painful smoke. Service was awful. We had to search out our server multiple times to get any help at all. Took me 40 minutes to get an old fashioned. Prices on whiskey was the most expensive I have seen in all of Indianpolis for all bars and restaurants. If you want a cigar bar take an Uber downtown to Burn and see their exceptional staff and you will enjoy yourself way more. Overall I wanted to like Blend bc it is closer to home but it is 5% of what other establishments give. Disappointing. read more

Came here with some friends just to check it out. The staff who greeted us was very friendly and attentive. My group had some drinks and snacks. Drinks were very good and food wasn't bad. How they decorate the place really stands out to you. It's beautiful and oh my gosh the bathroom! You have to check it out even if you don't need to use it! It looks really fancy inside.lol sorry I don't have words to justify how nice the bathroom is so you are gonna have to see it for yourself. Overall, I wouldn't mind returning here. I only had one night in Indianapolis so I had to make it count! I found this place on a tourist guide of things to do while in the city so stopped for a visit. As soon as I arrived I was promptly greeted and invited to the humidor. Now I am pretty knowledgable on my cigars as I do love a god cigar. Being that this is a Davidoff location only their brands were available. I ended up getting a light Dominican cigar with a slight sweetness for a finish. One I had chosen my cigar they lit it up for me, I pulled up a chair to the bar and proceeded to sit there for three hours. I did. It even feel the time go buy. I had some brandy, souther durban, and a French press coffee. The bartender Richard was the most pleasant guy, full of stories, funny, and very helpful to me when making my drink selection - as a bar tender should be. My whole experience here was great, I enjoyed myself, the atmosphere is relaxed and layer back, with a old school plantation house vibe. If smoke is your thing, you'll find just the right BLEND here. (See what I did there? :-} ) Blend is a lovely space located between Keystone at the Crossing and Castleton in the Clearwater Crossing area of North East Indy. I actually didn't expect the space to be as large as it is. Upon entry, I was surprised by how non-smoky the atmospheric air was inside of Blend. For the record, I'm not a smoker, and did not partake at Blend. It was great to see that the space was as warm and welcoming to a non-smoker such as myself in addition to all of the cigar afficionados present. If I had to put a label on Blend, I'd call it: Giant Man Cave - But Classy. Leather furniture and dark wood dominate the decor at Blend, and a gentleman wearing a red velvet smoking jacket wouldn't look out of place at all. I was only able to give three stars, as I found the service at Blend a bit lacking. The waitstaff did not seem as efficient as I would like, and there was a considerable time lag between placing orders and receiving them. My only regret is that I didn't get to explore the humidor; I hear it's grand. If you're looking for a cultivated smoke, or just a quite place to catch the game, Blend might be just the place for you. read more

Upon entering, I was expecting to see the Dos Equis guy in the corner cuz this place is CLASSY! So different (and better) than Nicky Blaine's. Blend is designed to give you an experience unlike any other. With the dim lighting, thick wood furniture, and colorful lighting, Blend makes you feel comfortable and included instead of feeling like an outsider. It's sophisticated without being snooty. Our waiter was friendly and knowledgeable and checked on us frequently. This was my first time here as it was a birthday destination with my girlfriends and we were excited to try some cigars and sip on a strong drink. Their cocktail menu is abundant and the bartenders know their stuff! Their walk-in humidor was huge! So much to choose from. There were always at least two staff members in the humidor to help you choose the perfect cigar for your night. All prices are listed in the humidor so it's no surprise. Once you have your favorite choice, they cut the cigar and bring it to you to light it. From there, you sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, and feel like a Queen! The best part? I left that night without smelling like an ashtray! Their ventilation system filters the air in the lounge every ten minutes. You can enjoy the evening feeling comfortable and breathing easy. Ladies? So it is definitely not a dive cigar bar. I would probably hang a 5th star but both times I've stopped, they have not had what I asked for: no Padrons, no amaretto. How can you open a high quality cigar lounge without the smooth, complex cigar from Padron??? Wonderful appointments, multiple flat screen but you have to beg them to stop the "in-house" commercials for Blend. Hey, we are here!! You don't need to promote Blend on the tv!! Sorry...just dropped two stars. Walked in and sat down with my own stick. Nobody told me I had to purchase a stick from them to even buy a drink. What a rip. What goes around... Although I never went to Indy cigar bar, I can see how this must have been an upgrade. They have a massive humidor and a staff member that exclusively works the humidor to help you choose a cigar to fit your style and price range. If it is your first cigar or you smoke daily he will help you make the right choice. After you choose a cigar the attendant will cut it and light it for you. Then you take a seat wherever you like in their luxurious lounge, order a drink, and they just add your cigar to your tab. One seamless operation. Although they didn't really have a local selection of beer on tap, they did have some interesting options. I went with the Kona Big Wave. I remember Kona being delicious at the sun king canvitational, and again it was quite pleasant. My friend, who is a bourbon connoisseur, wasn't overly impressed with the selection but was happy with what he chose. Both of is were happy with our cigar selection. Once you sit down you really appreciate the atmosphere and notice that it isn't your dad's cigar bar. Sure it is male dominated, but there are ladies there enjoying themselves. My wife would be plenty happy just having a cocktail and hanging out in the lounge. I can't speak for the food on this visit, but the appetizers I saw delivered to others looks delicious and worth the asking price. I have visited other cigar bars in Indy, but this was my first time at Blend. It was a bit tough finding parking (Saturday night), but it's nice that there is a huge parking lot instead of street parking. You can sit anywhere there is available seating, but we opted for the bar. The bartender was very pleasant and really attentive. I wasn't sure what I wanted to drink, so he asked me what my go-to drink is. He recommended an old fashioned with a rye bourbon (I think that's a thing) and it was delicious. When it came time to choose a cigar, we described to the attendant in the humidor what I was looking for and he gave me a great cigar. Unfortunately, I don't remember the name, but it was very mild and smooth. It's a great cigar for a beginner. We were able to have a great conversation without being interrupted by the bartender, but when we needed something, he wasn't too far away. It can get a little loud, but it's just an excuse to get a little close to that special someone. It is also a great place to meet friends and chat about the weekend. This place is pretty cool with lots of comfortable seating and a low key vibe. My friend hosted a bday party there with a good amount of attendees... As more came, we needed more seating and the server was accommodating to our needs without seeming put off. Food wise we had a charcuterie board... Great meats and cheeses with a fantastic presentation, I was very impressed! The drinks were a little pricey but I expected that with the vibe of this place. Our server recommended a great drink for me that was simple and tasty. As far as the cigars go, I'm no expert, but the gentleman have some recommends that matched my simple taste. Blend has a large, spacious walk-in humidor. Therein lies the problem - there is too much dead space in there. A walk-in humidor should be stocked to the gills. There should be a wide variety of cigars rather than numerous selections from a handful of brands. Next, I noticed the joke of a humidifier in said spacious walk-in humidor. It was blowing mist everywhere. Humidity in a walk-in humidor should be felt and never seen. Finally, the "tobacconist" just about pounced on my son and me before were five steps through the door. I felt like I was on a used car lot more than I was in a cigar lounge. Tip to the tobacconist: Ask me if you can help me before you start bombarding me with your vast (rehearsed) cigar knowledge that you probably got out of Cigar Afficionado magazine. PS: A Camacho is not a $15.00 (retail) cigar. Nice job ripping customers off. read more

I have been to both Blend and Nicky Blaines downtown and although I did enjoy my time at Nicky's, I prefer Blend and here's why: - no cover charge. NB was $5/person at the door when we went, and I realize they are downtown so it wasn't a "shock" but it's not like they had a live jazz band playing. - Blend has an amazing filtration system going on. One of my friends has asthma and she didn't need her inhaler at all which she found surprising. - we felt taken care of by the staff. Our waiter was checking on us continuously throughout our evening. I've been to NB on three separate occasions and it wasn't even comparable. - They answered all our silly amateur questions about cigars and didn't act pretentious about it. - the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. - the bar menu is pretty extensive and prices range from reasonable to "treat yo self!". If you are a cigar aficionado or just someone who wants to give a bourbon and cigarillo a whirl, I recommend checking this place out! read more

The drink selection is impressive. Whether you want a top-shelf scotch or bourbon--or a fine European beer, you'll find it at this bar. If you prefer to pair your cigar with caffeine, Blend also offers a very nice pot of coffee in a French press. If that doesn't meet your fancy, I'm sure they'd be happy to pour you a Diet Coke. Now that I have covered the seating and drink options, it's time to discuss the entire reason that anyone would patronize Blend in the first place: the cigars. While many other inferior cigar bars only have a cabinet full of cigars, Blend Bar & Cigar has an impressive walk-in humidor. While the selection of cigars may not be as thorough as your tobacconist's, it is well stocked with the likes of Davidoff, Camacho, and Drew Estate (including the Undercrown line, my particular non-Padron favorite)--among many others. While on the topic of Padron cigars, I was disappointed that Blend did not carry them. This is the only area in which Blend Bar & Cigar needs to drastically improve. While other cigar bars charge an exorbitant price for a stick, this establishment keeps their prices reasonably low. In fact, it would not in in any way out of the question to purchase a cigar at Blend as one would from their tobacconist. In addition to their cigars, Blend Bar & Cigar also carries a line of fine smoking accessories, like cigar cutters, lighters, and ashtrays. As anyone who frequents cigar shops, lounges, and bars knows, the places can get overwhelmingly smoky. Blend Bar & Cigar seems to master the art of air filtration. Despite at least 100 cigars being smoked at one time, the customer will not have any problem making out the face of his or her beautiful date. I could not write a review on Blend Bar & Cigar without mentioning their terrific staff. From the moment the customer enters the bar, he is greeted warmly, with every need attended. It has a lounge feel, with different couches and chairs on one side and on the other side there are high tops and of course a bar where you can sit at. The furniture was so classy and beautiful. (I wanted to take one of the chairs home with me lol) The humidor was amazingly gorgeous, and had an attendant ready to answer any questions. I should have yelped this place before my friend and I decided to take a random trip here, because I wasn't prepared for this luxurious experience. You notice two things when you walk in: 1. It's a very relaxed, yet classy lounge atmosphere. 2. "I can breathe". The ventilation in this place is outstanding, and not once did I feel stuffed up from everyone's smoke. The humidor is huge, with a stellar selection. It sits behind the bar with a large window to add an open, unique experience. The prices on the cigars were a tad too high, but considering the experience and length of the stay you'll have, I don't it's an issue for those that can afford it. The bar was beautiful, with a glowing top and comfortable chairs. A nice belt motored trio of fans sit above the bar that are quieter than a baby's snore. This outrageously beautiful bar (which happens to be a cigar bar as well as a full service beer, wine, and liquor bar) would appeal to just about everyone, as it's gorgeous, swank, huge, and --best of all-- barely had any tobacco odor present when I visited on a Saturday afternoon. Granted there were only 20 people present, and 10 cigars lit, but in attendance were men and women from their 20's to a little woman who had to be in her 80's, and all having a great experience it appeared. The furniture (leather chairs, oriental rugs, gorgeous furnishings throughout) is so so so inviting to sit back and relax, with numerous large flat screens in semi-private nooks plus 3 or 4 more above the amply stocked bar. I felt like a sultan in this beautiful cigar enclave. And NO cigar odors! Must have spent a sultan's daily income on that ventilation system cuz it's clean air you're breathing. In the last year, I've went from smoking fru-fru girly dessert cigars....to full size big boy cigars. I've now experienced cigars and cigar bars in New Orleans, Mexico, Chicago, several in Dallas and I can confidently say that Blend is the best of the best. The servers were super knowledgeable - kept our cigars lit, drinks filled, ashtrays emptied. The space is roomy and well ventilated - lots of different seating options - couches for getting cozy, club chairs for chillin', chairs with ottomans for putting up your feet, tables and chairs if you want a little room to work! May be my new favorite bar! A few have said it is too expensive, but on my first visit I had a couple of glasses of a really nice Cabernet at $10 a pop and a really good Arturo Fuente cigar for $8. My tab was $28 plus tax for the 2 hours or so I was there. Now, granted, especially on cigars, that is the low end, you can spend a lot more on a cigar but it is nice that they have a very wide price range on their cigars. I think the decor and ambiance is something you won't find many other places in town, absolutely stunning interior. One of the nicest walk in humidors I have seen. And the bar top, not sure what kind of stone it is, but it is amazing. And, the service is second to none, the staff are on point every time. They did am amazing job with ventilation as well as you can barely tell that a whole bunch of people are smoking cigars in the place. All in all, a very nice place to "hang-out". read more

Great cigar selection, an adequate but overpriced bar, and a posh, but not very cozy, atmosphere make this a decent place to smoke. Plan to spend a little too much for what you get - the cigar prices veer over average and the booze prices are just short of gouging. The service is generally good, but can be spotty at times. The clientele is generally old and rich, but pretty cool. That said, for a strip mall spot on this side of town, it manages to eek out a little charm, and is hospitable for groups. My friend called me to meet him and a couple other folks to meet here for his birthday. The cigar selection is limited, and the service is rude. After a couple rounds and as we are enjoying our smoke the waiter asks if we would like another (round) and we oblige. I ask about the pour, and the waiter says rather abruptly that it just one size. I jokingly say that's different compared to another local cigar establishment I frequent. He looks the folks in my party up and down and says, "This establishment isn't for everybody." He goes on to say that this is a real cigar bar, and the other establishment is "just a night club that happens to sell cigars". One of the other men in my party asks what he meant when he said this establishment is not for everybody. He replied, "Well, I'm just saying!" My guy says, paraphrasing, that's how you treat customers, and we haven't even cashed out with your tip. The waiter says, "Well, whatever!" I have never been a fan of cigars or cigar bars, but Blend has definitely changed my entire perspective on cigars. The smell of the bar is really mild. The only other cigar bar I've been to in downtown Indy was so stinky I couldn't stand to sit there for even an half-hour - and it wasn't crowded. Blend, however, has an amazing ventilation system and it really smelled quite nice when I walked in. The menu is handed to you on an iPad and you can flip through their spirits (and maybe food - I didn't order). The wait staff could really use some training/knowledge on scotch and whiskeys - including the prices of them... The general manager, however, does know the products so I'll go straight for him next time. I've never gotten the concept of cigars but I was really interested to see what the hype was. I went into the humidor quite dumb, and came out quite knowledgeable about cigars. I am so impressed! And now a huge fan of cigars!
