Sometimes they get the exclusives, and as some have already stated their selection is some what limited. Grocery Store Freezer display cases! What a friggin cute idea!!! Lots of cool nikes, adidas, reeboks, etc. Very old school yet very modern styles. Unique styles, funky colors, patterns, fabrics, and more. Wow! What a neat store! I am sure every pair is $100 or more by the looks of things, so hopefully I hear about a sample sale or sale in general so I can buy my brother some kicks. He loves the urbanie, funky shoes! I seem to have a knack for seeking out the spots for limited edition sneakers no matter what state or country I'm in. My spider senses were tingling in Costa Mesa when I found Blends. The concept is great with all the shoes displayed in grocery store freezer cases. Copped the wood grain edition Air Max 90 Premiums here. Prices are all retail and the selection is very fresh. No refrigeration necessary. PS, the Blends shop in San Diego is also excellent. I'm just a sucker for the admittedly gimicky presentation of the Costa Mesa branch. read more

Hands down my favorite place to get kicks. Parking is usually difficult but you can valet. The staff is usually chill but nice which I prefer over an overly aggressive person not giving space. Been coming here for years. Wasn't sure if they were open yet from the pandemic but decided to come in support, take a look and got a pair. read more

Definitely a hot spot in the OC for the kicks you didn't bother waiting overnight for. Found the selection to rival what you would find at FC or RIF. Prices were right on the money as they don't gouge you every penny. Set-up is very cool but I can imagine cold with the store being open to the elements. Display cases reminded me of DQM. read more

Ordered shoes online. Order wouldn't go through. That's fine, sometimes you don't get them on time. Check my bank account, and they decided to charge me 3x anyways. I am giving this place one star because of there return policy. They will not accept returns and will only give you store credit. So i accepted my store credit and the rep who was working there didnt tell me that my store credit would expire. I admit that it was written on the receipt but these things need to be pointed out when the customer leaves because when we are denied a return only to get store credit I feel like the rep should explain their policy. Now i basically feel like they stole my money and if i knew my store credit would expire I should have just kept my shoes that i returned. read more

Blends needs to learn how to make a normal website you can't see anything. How does that help a store make sales?

One time I wanted to pay with debt/cash. The difference was 10.00 and I pulled out an old ten dollar bill. One of their employees, "C los" thought it could have been counterfeit and canceled my purchase. Yeah bro heres 160, but I think I'll try to save 10 bucks on shoes by printing fake tens? Get a counterfeit pen... I did not buy shoes that day. Another day I tried to buy some clothes here with store credit. Oh but wait you can't because the clothes are technically another store with their own return policy. And everyone that works their is so incompetent at their simple job that they won't let you know before you buy something, and their store credit expires! So now I'm forced to buy something I don't like. So this jabroni just throws a pair of shoes at me and expects me to lace them up. Dude you work at a shoe store, are you kidding me? Another employee takes a look at my shoes and asks me how much I paid for them. Hey y'know what broski? Actually I used 50 "fake" 10 dollar bills to pay for them. There is no changing room here. Did it ever occur to you that people might want to try on clothes before they spend money on them. No way, who would have thunk it? They make you change in the back where they keep all the shoe boxes. Im trying to put on some running shorts and theres another dude creepin' around back there. He sees me and then pretends like he doesn't see me all awkward and just pathetic. And they're always just standing around outside smoking cigarettes and texting when I'm alone in the store and actually do need help. this place receives 2 stars only for its decor. its creative and unique with its refrigerator doors. i have to say, though, their return policy is horrible! i'm usually not very good at yelping places after my visits but i HAVE to let people know about this. The first two lines read as followed: *original receipt is required for RETURNS and exchanges *RETURNS and exchanges are accepted within 5 days from original purchase date i stopped reading there because i assumed after reading that, that i would be able to return it back to the original payment method but i was wrong! on the bottom of the receipt it says: *returns are for exchange or store credit only. I think the employees should let ALL customers know when an item is not refundable before making a purchase! when i came to return the shoes, the employee i spoke to didn't even know how what he was talking about. he was telling me he couldn't give me my money back because they were a sale item (purchased them at original price @ $100) and then he changed it to "i dont know exactly why we cant take them back i just know we cant" i asked for a manager and he said he doesnt know when he'll be in the store and there is no number to reach him (just an email address that he doesnt reply to). rediculous!! read more

Located @ the Lab shopping center in Costa Mesa, Blends offers a unique selection of limited Nike's, Van's, Reebok's and other trendy shoes. The nifty thing about this shop is that all the shoes are kept behind a non-functioning glass refrigerator door; so it's kinda like stopping by your local 7-11 for a pint of milk, except a pint here runs you about $80++. Worth checking out for the shoes and the "cool" factor. read more

Worst customer service at a shoe store ever! At least people at Foot Locker want to take your money. There were no customers in the store and two people working. Waited 20 min just to get the Jason Markk shoe cleaner! One guy was in the back the entire time, the other guy was smoking outside with his buddies. Blends is Okay. They don't carry anything rare or of high importance to sneaker heads. They carry cool shoes for fashion purposes. Nothing like Flight Club in LA. The store itself is cool. Pricing on the shoes is reasonable. read more

Great place, quick work of the line for the Fire Red 3 last year. Love their fridge displays, man i think when i move into my house my rarest stuff is gonna be housed like they do it. They also have a nice little warehouse sale they did a while back, i guess they keep some of those shoes in the back for this, but bought like 5 pairs that day. I like coming here because they got solid sneakers for sale but sometimes the staff be acting like they're too cool to help a brother out with getting a pair. The seven times I've been there they literally only have had my size in a pair a shoes I wanted twice. They run back there for literally 2 seconds and let you know they aint got it. Release day for a sneaker...forget a bout it. Line is really ridiculous and sometimes it feel likes they back door a lot of the pairs. There would be like 50+ people and they only have like 10 pairs to sell. Even though this store is frustrating, I still cant help to stop by and check what they have but I have to literally say a hail mary before I ask for my size in hopes they got it back there. read more

Overall, I love the vibe/atmosphere of this store. I'm usually in the area for coffee at Cafecito Organico (next door), but always find myself checking out Blends. Went into Blends and saw a pair of EQT Adidas in size 12. The guy working there at the time checked and said they didn't have them. Went back the very next day and asked another guy if they had them. Went back to check and they did. Customer service there isn't sucks and the guys who work there just stare at you. Great shoes but to many bad buying experiences. read more

probably 75% of all the shoes i've gotten since college have come from this place. it's nice because the location is convenient and they always have a great selection of stuff. the prices are reasonable and they get pretty rare stuff that you would normally have to drive all the way up to LA for. definitely the best shoe store in orange county. read more

Back when I was going to school at U.C. Irvine, I bought a majority of my shoes here. The setup of the store is very creative yet simple. They also expanded the store into another half where they sell Marc Jacobs Vans I think. I could always count on Blends to have something nice over there... especially when they had the 40% off sales on certain shoes. It's nice to see a store like this when you've grown tired of seeing the same things at like Champs or Foot Locker. Definitely love the atmosphere of the shopping center too, and its a must to hit up this place if you're in the area. read more

Blends is one of my new found stores I've neglected so long but now find myself going to weekly checking out new releases and what not. Blends OC is a higher end store in itself compared to their sister stores in other cities because of the shoes and clothes they receive. Getting everything from Jack Purcells to Nike they have it all when it comes to shoes and clothes. Make sure to check them out if you're ever in need of some new clothes or shoes. read more

As far as concepts/design go, Blends is one of the best sneaker boutiques around. Parking is a bitch, the staff is knowledgable but not always friendly, they rarely pick up the phone, and most everything is ($5+) above retail. I think the vans and Cr8 Rec are MSRP. Usually when everywhere else sells out of something Blends magically has a few pairs left and thats when I go there. read more
