The Blue House Market is oh-my-god-good. They offer organic, locally grown produce, fun round-the-kitchen trinkets, and other goodies. But that's even the best part. They have a menu that will blow your mind and flavors that will make your taste buds dance. Let's start with lunch items. They offer everything from meat & 3s, to veggie plates, to sandwiches. And I kid you not -- my boyfriend said their Parkside sandwich is the best sandwich he's ever had. Ever. Had. People! And this boy has eaten some sandwiches in his time. The Sunset kicks so much sandwich ass, that you won't know what hit you. Fajita chicken and mango salsa. Nuff said. One of our friends tried the teriyaki salmon for lunch with broccoli and slaw. This salmon was ridic. Huge, flaky, and tasty. Mmm mmm mm. Needless to say, we had to get some extras to take home. They also do a lot of business in their to-go dinners. Chicken lasagna, BBQ, German brats, and eggplant parm. We haven't been lucky enough to try a dinner, but are planning to very, very soon. I think that it's owned by the same folks who run the Bleu House Cafe (perhaps family-run?), and service has been awesome so far. Super helpful and always willing to answer the many questions we inevitably have. I don't know why it took me so long to write an update, but here's the short, simple, sweet version: I love this place. Honestly, it's evident by my weekly visits here, sometimes, 2 or 3 times a week. The sandwiches are so delicious and filling. They use fresh, organic ingredients. GREAT soup [that you can usually order at the BHCafe as well]. Wonderful customer service all around. My love for this place still comes down to one word though: MACARONS. The only thing that makes me sad about this place is the fact that they're closed on Sundays and open only until 1 PM on Saturdays. Boo. Upon reading reviews, a coworker and I decided to come here for lunch. The Market isn't located along the row of restaurants, but tucked behind, across the street from the park. Though the restaurants is only open for weekday lunch, they have different specials everyday written on a chalkboard above the checkout counter (be sure to take a look). The cashier taking my order was very knowledgable about what to get and what was good. We got the braveheart brisket with brussels sprouts (one of the specials) and mac n cheese. The brisket was solid. It had a nice and flavorful peppery slightly crusty exterior with a very juicy and just-right amount of fat interior (I like fatty marbling in my brisket). Mixed with some mustard sauce (provided on every table along with several BBQ sauces), the brisket didn't stand a chance. The mac-n-cheese was excellent with a very healthy ratio of cheese to pasta; not just cheese sauce, but thick, gooey cheese. Lastly, the brussels sprouts were cooked well and not bitter; even though I got them to appease my conscience, I enjoyed it more than I expected to. On top of that, every plate has a few pieces of lettuce and a biscuit. I was pleasantly surprised how delicate and soft the biscuit was. For the price (around $14), there was a heaping amount of food, all great quality; enough to bring a portion home for a later snack or small meal (though despite better judgment, I happily finished my plate). Absolutely the best find I've ever discovered on Yelp! The love that goes into the ingredients and the preparation of their food is astounding! Seriously... We had a wonderful conversation with Bryan, the chef and he knows his stuff. He never prepares food that he himself would not enjoy. There is a passion in the preparation. The serving size is VERY generous! But it's the depth of flavor that scores such high points on my scale. The 7 cheese Mac & Cheese is beyond compare. The smoked turkey is NOT even slightly dry. It's actually moist and flavorful. Mt advice... Take a friend and order totally different things and then share so you can enjoy as many of these delightful dishes as possible. Oooo One more thing... The customer service is the BEST I have experienced in years! If your business / organization is struggling to survive in this self-service world... Come enjoy a relaxing meal and watch how these people treat the folks who walk through their doors. We can all learn some great lessons about how to treat others! I love historic/downtown Norcross. Obviously it's just a small little place, but it is really nice and has a lot to offer for its size. Along those lines is Bleu House Market. I checked it out during my work lunch break, and I really enjoyed my experience. I got the Super Veg sandwich, which came with a side, and a sweet tea. The sweet tea was okay; I usually like it fairly sweet, but I felt like this one was somewhat muted. The sandwich was pretty good, but the goat cheese overpowered the basil pesto, which is what I was really craving when I ordered it. Lastly, for the side - I got mashed potatoes - that was really, really good. Their mashed potatoes were amazing. The place itself is pretty cool as well. Nice little inside with outside seating in a little patio in the back and a cool front porch with a couple of tables as well. Overall a great experience. If you're strolling around downtown Norcross and need a place to stop and grab something to eat, you can't go wrong with this place. read more

There is no parking and it is very small and loud but I have never been to a place that I would go from woodstock to norcross to eat there if I leave my work in Norcross but this place is worth the drive read more

This place has become my favorite lunch spot! I hesitate to give it a good review, cause I kind of want to keep this place as a, as Quynh N. put it, "hidden gem." I found this place when I was looking for a bakery that made fresh Macarons, but I found SO much more. When I first pulled into their parking lot, I thought I was pulling into someone's driveway. The restaurant literally looks like someone's blue (bleu) house! I didn't know what to expect. As soon as I walked in, my first thought was, "Is someone cooking food from their own kitchen and calling it a restaurant? But it isn't like that at all. Everything there is either organic, locally grown, or locally brewed. Basically, its all local and fresh. They bake their own bread and make their own sauces. Everything I've eaten there has been amazing! I've had their Thrasher, Parkside, Buford, and Pitbull. I understand that the names don't clue you on what's in them or what they taste like, but if all I have to say is GO TRY IT YOURSELF! Their sandwiches have plenty of flavor, but nothing is more overpowering than another. Each bite allows you to taste every flavor and every flavor compliments each other. It looks and smells like home cooking, but it has that gourmet taste! They serve an amazing cup of locally brewed coffee and the most delicious flavored sweet tea and lemonade. They also bake their own desserts. Out of everything that they bake, the only thing I really want to rant and rave about is their "made fresh weekly" Macarons! They're not those small ones where you feel like you got ripped off but they are decent sized treats! Even though I said that I want to keep this a hidden gem and keep it all to myself, I want to leave a good review cause the owners are super nice! Me and my wife stumbled onto this place with a mid day lunch craving! We were very impressed. We followed the directions given by Yelp to a hidden little neighborhood right off of Buford Highway which I'm sure I would've never found. It had street parking and some additional parking in the back. We walked up to the nice homey type restaurant which had a amazing patio to let you soak in the sun. We walked in and honestly waited to be helped with no one in line for about 5 minutes, but it was about 40 minutes before close. When we were helped the hostess was pretty friendly and helping in explaining the items on the menu. I quickly had my eyes fixed on one sandwich and one sandwich only. It had smoked turkey, smoked rib meat I believe, and pulled pork along with provolone cheese and a fried egg on top. It took about 5-10 minutes for my food to arrive and can I say half of the sandwich is all I needed with just a little of their house made "Market Barbeque Sauce" to fill every culinary I needed that day. My wife order the Turkey Naanwich which she explained as amazing which she smothered in one of their house made sauces which I believe was Zesty Mustard but I could be wrong. We also got to choose one side which she chose the cucumber salad and I chose the mac n cheese. She described her cucumber salad as a little TOO vinegary but at the same time she was expecting something with more lime. My mac n cheese was absolutely delicious. I usually have had bad experiences with blue cheese as it being too strong for me, but this had just the right amount for me along with other cheeses I couldn't detect. Also the only refillable drinks are sweet/un sweet tea, lemonade, and water. If you want a soda you will only have the choice of soda cans. All in all this was a very good choice for a nice lunch. Never had something smoked so perfectly before. It even made the fat melt in your mouth. Not that it had terrible amounts of fat but they just didn't trim it for flavor I believe. I'm so glad that my good friend Sooji K. introduced me to this place some time ago.. although I think she took me to Bleu House Cafe at first. I confess, I'm not really a sandwich person (GASP), but I do appreciate a good sandwich. "The College" is yummylicious. I want to try the BBQ ribs sometime. The real reason why I give this place 5 stars is the sweets they offer. Many mentioned the macarons (they're the best I've had, but that's because I've never been to France), and yes, they're worth the hype. I dream about their blondie bars such as apple and pistachio, cupcakes, and just.. everything. It's just not too sweet and overbearing. I specifically come here just to get the baked goods. Not much can be said about the sparse decor, except that it's a big blue southern house. I got a hot plate, which included one meat and three sides. I wasn't feeling too adventurous so i opted for the salmon, which had a nice pink look to it. I also picked out some tomato feta salad, mixed vegetables, and baked mac & cheese. Salmon was extremely juicy and flavorful. They have a special sauce that I should have inquired about that was slightly sweet with sesame seeds in it. Delicious. Their tomato feta salad was average, and mixed vegetables were alright as well, but the mac & cheese was very good. We get catering from here for work lunches often but this was my first visit. Yummy stuff! They are solid on sandwiches and salads and their desserts really are that good. The chocolate praline brownie is DANGEROUS! I loved the casual atmosphere and outdoor seating area. The service was friendly and very efficient. I ordered a sandwich special- the blackened chicken wrap. I'm usually not much for wraps but the chicken/dressing ration was perfect and the tomato wrapper was really moist and tasty- thumbs up! An excellent restaurant. Good food, great portions, reasonable price, and awesome customer service. You don't get treated like a customer, you get treated like family. Bryan is a passionate chief who wants nothing better than to proved the best meal to his costumers. Nicole makes some of the best sweets for those times you want a good homemade pastries. And the rest of the Bleu House staff makes you feel right at home. A charming little cottage, the atmosphere makes my troubles away after a bad day. Lunches are great and so are the home-cooked style dinners. When you're busy and do not have the time to cook, these guys have been a life savor. Chicken pot pie, Guinness Sheppard's pie, beef brisket, and my favorite, lasagna night! All food prepare with care and craft. It was a good while since I last had a meal at the Market, I'm talking about a year. The other time was good and I thought it was a quaint spot with good food. When I went for lunch yesterday it was like fine wine, with time, just a WHOLE darn lot better! First off, the reno that they've done is awesome. It''s just got a charming vibe and for the small space, is functional too. And then for the food - I LOVE the little baskets on each table with the four sauces to choose from. I had the one that looked like bbq sauce - it had a tangy flavor to it, and was delish! For the vegetarians reading, they offer a number of great choices. The portobello NAAN-WICH was spot on and left me, if it were not for being in public!, practically licking the plate for every last crumb. The guys/gals in the kitchen know what they're doing. This place is what you would call a gem in Old Norcross. A Scout Mob brought me here for lunch and I have been back 3 times since, bringing 5+ people each time. For $7/$8, you get a generous amount of food (1 meat, 2 sides). They serve a limited amount of BBQ per day so I would say beat the lunch rush, however there never seems to be one. Went here for lunch while on a business trip. Excellent food. It's a small house on a small street that is nearby a small row of shops. It feels incredibly local and authentic. The menu isn't expansive - which is great. It had a good enough variety to provide anyone with excellent lunch options. Between the salads, sandwiches, and entrees, everything looked like it was high quality. I had a balsamic salad with salmon, and it was excellent. It was just busy enough that you could tell it was good, but not so busy that you have to spend your entire afternoon just to get lunch. read more

As disappointed as I was by their sister restaurant, Bleu House. I lowered my expectations for Market a bit, however, I was pleasantly surprised by the difference in overall quality and preparation of the food. The cashier was pleasant, and I arrived just before the lunch rush, the place is pretty small inside but a good amount of outdoor seating. I ordered a brisket platter with green beans and mashed potatoes. My sister got the turkey platter with macaroni and cheese and broccoli salad. The food came out quickly, and the portions are quite large. There was a mixup with the sides for each order, which wasn't a huge deal, but a bit annoying transferring them to their proper plates. I tried the brisket first, it was very, very tender. Quite salty which I actually liked, with a tasty peppery bark. The green beans were quite tasty as well, not overcooked but having a nice slightly charred smoky flavor without being stringy, well seasoned and garlicky as well. The mashed potatoes were good, creamy and cheesy, nothing next level but solid. My sister's turkey was just alright, and her mac and cheese bland. The broccoli salad was fresh with a nice sweetness to the seemingly mayo based dressing. Overall, some above average, fresh dishes with large portions and decent prices considering the food quality. They had a scoutmob offer going for 7 dollars off, we both ate for under 15 dollars which was nice. Good lunch spot worth checking out if you're in the area. read more

I meant to write this review while I was there yesterday, but I slipped into a food coma and forgot! I have been to Bleu House many times and the food and service is always great. Shoutout to the girl that works the counter with the colored hair! I can't remember her name but you can't miss her when you go. She gives great food recommendations if you're undecided. They have limited hours (usually a sign of awesome food), so check the times before you go. It's a quaint little cafe style restaurant with Southern charm. You can't go wrong with anything you order, but my absolute favorite is a sandwich they have called The Five P. I haven't been able to order anything else off of the menu since I tried it! It's pulled pork, pimiento cheese, provolone, and pepper jam on a pretzel bun. Top it off with their house barbecue sauce and your life will be changed! This may not be a barbecue spot, but that sandwich is by far the best pulled pork sandwich I have ever had! If you are even the least bit of a barbecue enthusiast, you absolutely must try it! I love the Parmesan mashed potatoes as my side, but all of their sides are delicious. The chicken salad is really good too, as well as the soups.
