We were traveling with our dog and needed a pet friendly restaurant. They advertised as pet friendly but it was raining. The patio was closed but they went out of their way to seat us in the bar area to accommodate us. Very friendly staff who made us feel welcome. Food was very good. Stopped here while visiting Hot Springs. The atmosphere is nice and staff was great. I got the pasta carbonara and it was ok. Cream sauce was runny and didn't stick to the pasta at all. Husband got tacos and said they were just fine. Their creamy balsamic dressing is really good. They serve bread and pesto/olive oil as a starter, which being our first visit we didn't know. So we ordered the Monkey Nachos (awesome and huge). My husband ordered the Kobi burger and I got the Ribeye. Both were cooked perfectly. The Monkeyrita is good but you may want to share, as it comes in its own fishbowl. Very pleased with the selection of food. There was so much on the menu it wasn't hard to choose. We had an awesome shrimp Po boy, a jalepeno cheddar burger and a kids burger. Portions were grand! We also had chips salsa and cheese dip. Also really good. We didn't know, but you get bread and oil as an appetizer with your meal. That was also great. One of my all time favorite restaurants. The atmosphere is modern and very unique. The menu offers a lot of unique options but my go-to meal is the Bleu Monkey Chicken and Shrimp. It is cooked in a flavorful sauce and served with rice, black beans, fried plantains and a mango chutney. I have never had anything else quite like it and it is always perfectly cooked. We ordered the highly rated 'Bleu Monkey Rita'..,supposedly made with Patron silver, fresh squeezed lime and orange juice "no mixes" (or so they advertise) - imagine our surprise when a very large bright BLUE drink was placed in front of us!! Not ONE ingredient listed on their menu would create that color. So we asked and we were assured it was the Bleu Monkey Rita by the bartendar with an attitude, and then she said they add Blue Curacoa (anyone with taste buds knows that Blue Curacoa and Patron should NEVER be mixed in the same glass...EVER!) The only thing we could taste was the blue juice and at a price point of over $10, no thank you!! Obviously we sent them back, but only after they tried to pass off a member of the kitchen staff as the manager who ignorantly told us the Ritas were pre-mixed each morning with Durango Tequila...wait what? menu says Patron...and you can't pre-mix all that 'fresh juice' in the morning and expect it to taste good at 6 pm! Do not waste your time or money here. The drink scam didn't work on us fortunately, however unfortunately, we ended up eating what they tried to pass off as mexican/Tex-Mex appetizers only out of sheer starvation. My husband and I ate here at the recommendation of many people at the B&B we were staying at. We might have ordered the wrong items here, because we really didn't enjoy the food. My husband had the szechuan beef and I had a shrimp po boy. The items came out almost immediately after we ordered them, which made me feel like they had probably just been reheated. Both entrees were flavorless. I felt like the extensive menu leaned more toward quantity than quality. Just recently moved to Hot Springs and have driven by this place several times so decided to stop and eat. I worked late last night and was hungry so went out for a late dinner showed at the door at 9:45pm. Instead of a greeting the hostess looked at her co-worker and asked what time was closing. The coworker said 11pm so then the hostess asked us how many and sat us down. The ladies at the front seemed bothered that we came in at the time we did and although the hours posted stated the restaurant was open until 11pm it seems the workers already began to close as the entire dinning area had a strong smell of cleaning chemicals. We sat at the table for a while and the waiter came to take our drink order. We ordered water and as we were waiting the cleaning chemical odor became overwhelming and began to burn our eyes and throat so we decided we would go to another place and left. I feel that every employee on the night shift was more eager to close the place down rather than serve us and let us try this restaurant pace. Do not think I will make a second attempt at this place especially at night. We should have left when we were greeted that gave the feeling of being not welcomed even from the manager who looked as if he was bothered that we were there at just before 10 on a Saturday night. read more

I had lunch there today, and was so disappointed with the fish in the fish and chips! It had a heavy crust kind of like Captain D's and it was soggy and doughy! Best wings I have eat in Hot Springs for sure. That (appetizer) could be a meal. The special that day was fried pickles and there as good an any other place i have ate them. We are from Texas. This past week, my daughter and I took her daughters (my granddaughters), and one of their little friends, to Hot Springs, since my little granddaughter had heard so much good stuff about Arkansas. We dined at the blue monkey because it was close to our hotel and a hotel staff had mentioned how good the food was. (looking back, I believe her friend must work there.) Most of us ordered the "SPICY deep-fried chicken tenders" that came with French fries. The French fries were cold. The SPICY deep-fried chicken was absolutely tasteless; even the batter had no taste whatsoever. My granddaughter wanted chips with cheese dip (only thing she ordered), and the waitress served her black stale chips and some nasty tasting white creamy stuff she called cheese. The waitress did take the chips and dip back, but offered no apology, or asked if she could get my granddaughter something else...nothing. When the waitress came back out (we were in the courtyard), she simply started waiting on another table. My daughter, being the considering person that she is, still handed the waitress a $5.00 tip. Not even a "thank you" from the waitress. Won't be back to that restaurant again. But we WILL be back to Arkansas, because we had a blast at Coleman's Crystal Mining...Loved it! read more

Absolutely the worst customer service in Arkansas. I can't speak to their food because we were never seated. After asking for a table for 2 (requested a table and not a booth, personal preference) they told me it would be about 20 minutes. My wife and I waited and after 30 minutes the hostess asked if I would be ok with a booth. I told her no and I didn't mind waiting for a table. She told me it would be a really long wait because she had some parties with more than 2 people that came in and she would seat them before us. If they had told me this when I requested a table I could have made the decision on whether I wanted to wait all night in the hopes a table came free and there weren't any other parties in line to take it, but I wasn't told this until after we waited 30 minutes. Really horrible way to treat a customer and I will not return. I'd recommend you check out some other nearby restaurants that may value your business more than these people. read more

Average food for a sports bar. We went twice while on vacation in Hot Springs - it was open later than most places. The first time there I ordered their NY Strip to be cooked medium-rare to medium - it turned out tough and very well done, and the sides were cold. I was hungry and it was getting late, so I ate it. The second time I ordered the "carne asada", also to be cooked medium. It was rare - almost raw - and had no flavor - bland as cardboard. Went here last night. I had been here before about a year ago. I wasn't impressed at the time. My wife suggested it, since we hadn't been there in so long. So we ordered drinks. I had a large margarita. This comes in a big glass mug. You are not going to drink two of these and perform brain surgery later. So we started on a plus. Next came appetizers; chips, cheese sauce, and salsa. The chips were blue in keeping with the theme of bleu monkey. The chips might have been stale. They were not warmed up. The salsa was not spicey. So a bit of a let down there. Then the main courses came out. Sante Fe Chipota Pasta, Cabo Chicken Tacos, and Bon Bon Chicken and Shrimp over noodles. WOW, TALK ABOUT GREAT FLAVOR!!!! All three were excellent. Only down side was the rice served with the tacos was just OK. Why settle for OK rice when everything else was totally AWESOME? Service was great. Waitress checked on us serveral times and asked if we wanted more chips. Will we be back? Absolutely. read more
