We purchased blinds from a large blind company in town just 3 years ago. It costs about $10k. So we were a bit upset when one of the cords on the blinds came out of the housing. It did not break - just needed to be restrung. That original company said we would need to buy a new blind at the cost of $475. On a hunch after seeing Blind Doctor (aka Blinds USA) ads in the LVRJ, we decided to stop by. They staff was so nice and helpful. They had the blinds restrung and ready for pick up the next day. Total cost $39. Please remember this great company for all repairs on blinds. We have a rolling shade in our kitchen and had to take it down to install a new window. We discovered that the idle end had been "modified" to work when its internal pin had broken. There was no brand identification on the shade, so I could not find a parts list. But I happened by the BlindsUSA site, and found a product which looked identical in a Rollease shade. The idle end arrangement was different, but because this company lists exact dimensions, I determined that the Rollease brackets and idle end fixture would fit exactly. The ladies (and dog) are the nicest! I brought an old (2004) pair of Levelor shades in for repair fully expecting to be told they were too old and no more parts available. They got on the phone with Levelor and spent at least a half an hour explaining my situation. To my surprise they had full information where to ship the shades to Levelor who will repair for free! I only have to pay shipping costs. And they charged nothing (I tried to pay them something). They so easily could have said they couldn't repair and sold me something to replace. I seem to have missed the reply to my review. Since the reply was published I want Yelp users to have the benefit of my response. I double checked the information and this is certainly the place I ordered from. Their database won't reflect my information as I don't publish my name on Yelp reviews. I find it interested (and disconcerting) that they seem to operate with many different names and that the website link I used no longer works, and yet they still use the same phone number. Look, I get the return policy. It is all over the website. What I have a problem with is being totally ignored. I sent multiple emails to them simply trying to have a dialogue about my order. ALL WERE IGNORED. It was not until I used the arbitration process within Paypal since I paid with Paypal that I got satisfaction. They refunded me what I asked for in the Paypal arbitration process. So, Jennifer, I simply wish someone would have responded to my emails. That is what set me off and what I think others should be aware of. I ordered an obscure part through them after our local blind co in CA (a reputable company) failed to follow through. At first I ordered the wrong part online so I called and spoke to Alex who guided me through the process until I found the correct one. The cord broke on a very large honeycomb-style shade (72 X 59 inches), leaving it impossibly lopsided. Not keen on spending hundreds $$ to replace it, I called Blinds USA. Jeffrey came by for an on-time appointment two days after I called and did a fantastic job replacing the cord. It's as good as new and cost me way less than I would have paid for a new shade. And he did the job right there in my home. Yay Jeffrey! If you're anything like me, you'll try to repair, rather than replace, something that's in reasonably good condition. If I could give this company a 0 star, I wouldn't hesitate. All I needed was restringing for two thin wooden blinds that were suppose to have been taken care of in my house. The service man was suppose to have restrung them on site, but he didn't bring the correct supplies so they had to be removed and taken to the shop. Hmmm! They were in good condition before they left my house. The receipt I was given said nothing about any damage and when they were returned, they had gauges and chips in the wood. The service man said they were damaged when he took them. He accused me of having a dog. That they were teeth marks. They were chipped and I never owned a dog! They were not damaged in my house. He would have noted damage on the receipt he gave me but he did not. I did not accept them back until they were repaired. It took weeks and many phone calls to have them repaired and returned! This company wanted to charge ME additional for the repair! I refused. I just paid for the restringing & a trip which came to $127.80. Most important point: The guy had a lousy attitude and was rude. I told him I was going to write a review on Yelp and he said he didn't care....so here it is! BY THE WAY....on the receipt it says BLINDS USA LLC...dba blind doctor, blind distributors, blind parts. How many businesses are they really???? and why so many??? Hmmmmm! read more

I just had a delightful experience with Blinds USA. My dog had damaged a few of the slats in my sliding door (wooden) plantation;shutters and I was having a difficult time finding someone who would do a repair on them. Every other company was only interested in new installation. Chris and Jeffrey showed up right on time after calling first, and even though I was prepared for a 2 part visit that included ordering new slats, etc, they offered a way to do the repair on the spot. We discussed the options and the various costs and the job was done in less than15 minutes for half the originally quoted estimate!!!!! They didn't try to gouge me which was a welcome relief from an experience I had yesterday with a different vendor for a separate issue. I had blinds installed by this company about two years ago. The day after purchase I found the vertical blinds would not open. I called the company and they sent a tech out to repair it. Today, the initial problem repeated itself. Again I called this company and the person who answered the call was kind and said someone will be out soon. Yet about an hour later I get a call stating the manager insist I pay for the service call or take down the blinds and bring them in. I explained moreover to this manager that I never open the set of blinds with the problem and when I tried today it has the exact same problem as when I purchased them. The manager ignored everything I tried to explain to him about the problem. It was as if he did not believe me nor had the time to understand what I was explaining to him. This is the worst customer service ever. This manager made my already frustrating day worse. If I were you, I would not chance it with this company. WOW - did not know these guys were here in Las Vegas. Actually, the kind folks over at Home Depot in Arroyo Crossings sent me here. We had a blind that just needed new cords (the cats chewed them up). It would have been a custom order over at Home Depot and taken a few weeks. Since they don't do repairs, they recommended Blinds USA. I brought the blinds here and they fixed the cords in a day and a half for $35. FANTASTIC service - and with a SMILE.
