This is a franchise of the British company "Blink", and that's how I discovered them first when I was in London, looking for that perfect eyebrow threading. I was so excited to find out they're opening a location in New York, and while so far this was located at Henri Bendel, they moved to Saks Fifth Avenue in September 2014 - they are on the 5th floor. I trust noone else with my eyebrows, Sabah and Sam have the understanding of facial bone structure and hair growth necessary to give you perfect eyebrows that will just open up your face! Take their advice, and invest time in growing at your hair if needed so that they can really get to work. Also love their products, I have the eyebrow gel and fill in pencil and they are the perfect tool to up my brow game! If you are serious about your face, and your eyebrows, you will not let anyone else touch them. 5 stars for brows 1 star for lash extensions This is actually two separate reviews: one for brows (5 stars - excellent), the other for lash extensions (no). Brows: Sabah did a fabulous job with threading and tinting my eyebrows - gentle, thorough, lovely shape, great tint. She and her thread technique will now be my go-to brow person Lash Extensions: my regular practitioner, had had a personal emergency, was unable to do my 3 week fill in, and said she had heard Saks did a good job. I went, and the lash job looked great - but despite letting it dry for 48 hrs, after only 6 days almost all the lashes had come off. I went back and asked another technician to try again, but this time use more glue. Again, it looked great, but many of the lashes came off within five days, and without my own lashes attached (i.e., this was not grow-out, or natural shedding) - indeed many of my prior lashes from 5 weeks before were still in place. In examining the lashes that came off, they have two problems: 1) The Blink Brow Bar way is to put only a drop of glue at the end, not along the lash as it needs to really attach the extension to one's own lashes.(I have attached a photo) 2) Their glue, unlike a more elastic glue like Novalash, is brittle and cracks, instead of bending with the lashes, so brushing your lashes etc causes the lash to come off. This may be a business decision by Blink - they have the unusual practice of requiring all lashes to be removed (for $40) after only one fill-in session, at which point you have to pay for a full set all over again. So their business model seems to be: use less glue, and a lower quality glue, which saves money, as well as requiring the purchase of a whole new set of lashes every roughly 6 weeks, assuming your lashes last longer than mine. That may work for Blink and Saks, but it is not a deal for the customer. Blink Brow Bar should stick to eyebrows. read more

Way overpriced, not worth it. Had my eyebrows threaded at the saks location on 5th ave and 50th st. I only required a cleanup and paid about $40. The person who serviced me did a good a job, but again it was only a cleanup, $40 was too much. At other places with equally good or better service would charge less than half that. I usually pay $30 for threading and brow tinting. Not worth it, not returning. read more

This a review for their Bloomingdales location. I went for an eye brow thread when I had some extra time before dinner and got bullied into getting my whole face threaded. It was painful and honestly unnecessary and ended up being really expensive, and wasn't even what I wanted. I also had to insist that she put coverup on my face because it was bright red, and I think she charged me for that, too. I already filed a complaint and did a chargeback, but that's so much trouble! Save yourself some time and go to a place you know and trust, that will actually listen. read more

Best place in NYC to get my eye brows done. Saba is the best person whose ever touched my eye brows! I will never go to another place for my eye brows. Even my boy friend comes with me for his brows! Appalling. I have used this high end brow bar twice with no problems. This time a different assistant completely bruised and ripped up my skin. She should not be allowed to work there. My eye brow area is bruised and scratched up. She also did the hard sell on blink products and told me the assistant I used to use sold me the wrong merchandise and I should buy different colors. Came here to get eyelash extensions, with much hesitation. I have had allergic reactions in the past that have been awful lasted days and I can barely open my eyes. So I spoke to them did the test with the glue, had no reaction and decided to follow through on what we discussed originally. A half set of eyelashes costing $160, because 1. We didn't want to push it with the reaction and 2. I am not made of money I would never agree to spend $300 on something like that because of who I am I have my limits. Well, I went there got the eyelashes got a full-set (not what I had wanted because I didn't know what was being done). However, after it was all done I went to pay and the girl said $313. I paid it because I figured there was nothing else I could do at that point, but I was so upset because I never agreed to that price. Here I am once again less than 24 hours later crying because my eyes are so swollen, itchy, in so much pain humiliated that I have to go outside of my apartment looking like a monster. Not only that, I just wasted an absurd amount of money to a price I didn't agree to. In the past this reaction has lasted days. I've taken absurd amounts of benadryl already with no improvement, tried putting coconut oil on my eyes to get it off, cold compresses everything and I am miserable. Moral of the story: if you have an allergy do not let anyone convince you to do this again because its never worth the pain, money, or humiliation. Update: Went back was refunded, they told me that it would be better once it was removed. It got much worse had to go to the hospital to be treated for blepharitis. read more

I love coming here to get my eyebrows threaded. It's tucked away in a little corner on the 5th floor in Saks which can be a pain to find at the beginning but it's so worth it. I have gotten my eyebrows done by several of the women who work there and I haven't had a single reason to complain about any of them. They listen to what I want, don't push me to style my eyebrows one way or another and are just generally lovely people. I also like that you can get a stamp card and the fifth time you stamp it, you get a free threading! read more

After months of not touching my eyebrows, I was in desperate need of a shaping. But I'm SUPER picky (I have prominent brows and don't wear a lot of makeup, so my eyebrows are kinda important to me). I did a lot of research (yelp, Refinery29, and even a couple of strangers), and settled on Blink. I made a day-of appointment, but I think they get lots of walk-ins. Mayuri was very patient; instead of just diving in and doing a one-size-fits-all shaping, she assessed the state of my brows and explained her plan. It was my first time threading (can't believe I thought waxing was better - I'm a total convert!). She also filled them in with some color, but didn't push the product on me when I said I wasn't interested. I did end up buying the regrowth oil in the hopes of filling in a patch (but again, this wasn't pushed). Overall a very positive experience (minus having to dodge tourists on the first floor of Saks), and I will definitely go back. read more

Had a relaxing time with Abida at the brow bar. She was so kind and patient. Very gentle touch and did a fantastic job shaping/threading my brows. I added on lash tinting services with no issue and she massaged my forehead and temples while we waited for the lashes to dye all the way. Great experience! My first experience here was great. My second...not so much. I told her to just clean up my brows, but instead she made them significantly thinner. The inner half of my brows is noticeably thinner than the outer half, and she took so much off the top of my brows that instead of having a great arch like I did before, they look like they are barely curved. After searching high and low for the perfect eyebrow spot, I can rest easy knowing I am in such good hands with Sabah. She really has helped my eyebrows pop with just the right amount of TLC. The price might be a little high given that I can definitely go somewhere cheaper, especially with the number of eyebrow spots in the city, but nothing beats the expertise. Had threading done here and it was the same level of service I get at my normal threader. The only difference is brow bar charged me $96 for eyebrows, lip and chin and my normal threader charges me $25 for all three together. Not really worth the price difference, no extra services or level of customer service. Beware high prices! read more

I have been coming to Blink @ Saks (Brookfield) for about six months and have been very happy with the services. I love Manpreet and she is always very pleasant when I come in for a visit. She is very talented at shaping the brow and is conservative in the amount of hair that she takes off. She has also introduced me to the Blink eyebrow brush which is an alternate to tinting if you have just a few lighter hairs. I highly recommend her! read more

I've been going to Blink for a few months now and i cannot stress how amazing this place is. They're located in Saks currently on the 2nd floor while their normal 5th floor location is closed for renovation. Ask for Mayuri she is the absolute BEST. Since seeing her my eyebrows have grown in and are much thicker now. She's extremely careful and will do exactly what you ask (she actually wants your eyebrows to be thick). My first consultation with her she pulled out a mirror and told me exactly what she was going to do and she even pointed out how the last person I was seeing made my eyebrows uneven which I hadn't even noticed!! I've gotten so many compliments on my eyebrows since I started seeing her and I do not plan on going anywhere else! It's so hard finding a good consistent person who does eye brow threading especially in NYC and I'm thankful I found her. The cost is a bit high ($32 for threading) but trust me it's well worth it. From start to finish you are made to feel pampered and well taken care of. read more

Worst experience ever! All the five stars above must SERIOUSLY have be paid. I went with my friend who colors her brows her self all the time. She ended up looking fairly ridiculous. My instruction weren't followed AT all. I ended up looking like some kind of a cartoon. My eyebrows were compleeeeetly uneven, they almost had not gap in between, not shaped whatsoever and just overall not looking remotely like the brows I showed pictures of that I wanted. My and my friend have been scrubbing our brows with soap so hard now just so we might still be able to go out this Saturday night as planned. read more

I had really nice eyelashes but they were very straight. The aesthetician was very nice but she even said you have nice eyelashes so you won't need a full set. I got a half set and they looked leggy and crooked, horrible. It's been 5 weeks and my very nice eyelashes are gone they are short and thin and I really hope they are going to grow back. read more

I had my first appointment after a lot of research and I'm not blown away. It's definitely -at least 3x as expensive as other places and while my threaded did a"technically perfect" job i don't like how they look--- they look too clean and slightly too thin and obviously manicured and not at all "bold". they use all these photos of celebrities and models with interesting bold eye brows and with that price point you might expect that they're going to do something special but it's just a precise threading job done at Saks 5th Avenue hence the $$$$. I was hoping that she would have asked for more input about what i wanted but i just got the basic deal. read more

I love this place! Very clean and professional. This was my first time ever doing anything to my brows and the lady shaped them really well and the shape held up for a good 4 weeks. It does hurt (or at least for me) but it isn't unbearable and it's worth it for the job well done. They obviously didn't cut any skin and they put a soothing lotion on afterwards. I can't speak to brows, but I had the worst experience here with lash extensions that I've ever had. I picked this place because it had good reviews, and it was in Saks, so I figured I couldn't go wrong! Little did I know that they are totally independent from Saks and just lease space in the store, and it doesn't seem that Saks offers very much quality control. First, it is the only lash place I have been where you are sitting and not reclining. Although the chairs go back, it is very uncomfortable to sit like that for the length of time it takes to have lashes done. Second, the technician used so much glue that it ended up looking like I had clumps of mascara all over my lashes. When I complained, she took some money off of my bill, but that didn't make up for the fact that I ended up having to take all the lashes off within 24 hours, and my natural lashes came off with them.
