Nice little barcade near Koreatown. There's literally no advertisement outside of the place if it wasn't for yelp I wouldn't have found it lol. There's an old sign that says Klown above the front door. A lot of old classics arcade games here. Most cost a quarter but some are 50 cents. Very friendly bartender. Some nights they have djs.

Strange assortment in there, interesting little dive/vibe. Drinks were wonderfully stiff, but the price was steep, and it's cash only. The bartender not only poured our drinks but was also lovely to behold. The DJ? Interesting tunes, but crazy loud, and I couldn't tell if it was just an age barrier (if I'm just getting old), or if it was a real amateur hour deal. Either way, I could not hear myself think, and that made catching up with my pal a bit difficult. The place is surrounded by arcade games, and the barkeeps the quarters. The decor was pretty cool, NGL, lots to look at.

*** Neighborhood dive w/ early '80s theme. *** Too funny b/c I have been trying to forget the 1980s, yet Blipsy has made a biz of the it ... Galaga Asteroids Robotron I haven't seen these games in decades. Blipsy has got these and a dozen more. The music here is equally surprising ... Prince Kraftwerk Kano DJ spun "It's a War" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PyjkVvKVYsE&feature=youtube_gdata_player That was a b-side tune! How does a 23yo know to play that dusty? Whoa, so I must attest to Blipsy's authenticity. Those tunes took me back to old house party memories. ps: Hit tune on that Kano LP was "I'm Ready" and I actually still have a copy on vinyl! (hah) *** It feels like an episode of "Cold Case". ***

I'm giving this a 4 star review because some of the pinball machines were having "issues". But besides that, this place is great and the drinks are cheap. The cd juke box, which itself is a dying breed, was constantly being feed $ and while I didn't look at what sort of selection there was, I was enjoying what was being played. But the games. Oh the games. I got to play my late 20's nephew in some Track n Field (he had no idea he was gonna get a work out : ), Donkey Kong and one of my favorites, Spy Hunter. This wasn't your normal Spy Hunter but one of the sit down style machines. I'd definitely come back again. It's a great place for smaller groups to hang out and chill.

This is a dive bar with a solid drinks selection. My wife ordered a Coke since she wasn't in the mood for anything alcoholic. There were some interesting characters day drinking, and it was great people-watching with lots of regulars. The interactions were priceless. The bartender asked a regular if he'd left his helmet, and when he showed it to him, the regular quipped, "My head is bigger." The helmet looked like a kid's size, and the guy did have a small head. It was a funny interaction in a room full of characters, like something out of "A Confederacy of Dunces." The bouncer checking IDs outside, sporting a Santa hat, noticed my wife's upcoming birthday and wished her a happy birthday. It was a really nice touch! We will definitely be back for drinks and to people-watch the interesting characters!

Given it's Hollywood, I was expecting things to be pricy but we were amazed that cocktails (albeit well cocktails) were only $9 with some more complex drinks a bit higher - my friend said 8 drinks plus tax came out to be $92 which is not bad at all compared to many cocktail spots, though prices match the quality as you're not here for craft cocktails, but rather decent drinks to get you buzzed for the night. There's no menu. I settled with a dirty Shirley temple and my friend got me a Cinnamon Toast Crunch shot. I also tried the green apple martini too. Drinks were good but not excellent, but I can't complain about it much given the price!

Everything was fine. Bartender is awesome. We sat at a booth for 2 hrs, paid our bill, then walked to Boardners at 1am. I quickly realized I had no wallet and must've left it at Power House - so walked my way back at around 1:20am. The Door Man, who had previously been a completely chill and nice dude, began screaming at a man behind me to "get the F--- out of here." I turn and see it was a very drunk patron who I recognized had been in the bar earlier. He then turned to me and screamed in my face to also "get the f--- out of here." I came to find out that patron had been kicked out and possibly had altercation with the Door Man Eric. So clearly the Door Man thought I was connected somehow to that random drunk patron. I tried to calmly explain that I did not know that patron and I was only returning because I left my ID/ credit card slim wallet somewhere in the bar. He proceeded to keep shouting that I was lying because they don't hold credit cards there, even though I was saying my entire wallet was somewhere physically in the bar. He then proceeded to say I was too drunk to come in and that I had "bad vibes" and that I was a weirdo and to get the f-- out of here. I continued to try to calmly reason with him, and he suddenly lunged at me as if to attack me - this man has a foot height on me - and I had to jump back off the curb into the street to evade him. I don't like to speculate but I suspect drug use was a factor here. At this point, I pull out my phone and continue to try reasoning - at a distance - but nothing is getting thru - so I go back to Boardners, tell my wife what happened and tell her I need her to try to go in and get my wallet. I followed far enough behind where they he wouldn't see me, but she was in there for a good five minutes, so I got worried. I called her, and then I hear this doorman shouting at my wife. I RUN to the open door where I see him towering over her in aggressive hostility, and I see my WALLET in her hand. We walk away. My wife tells me that they found the wallet where I knew I had left it. When it clicked that this lost wallet must have belonged to me, aka "the weirdo", he told her she was "86'd" there and then called her a "weirdo". When my wife told Eric that she "doesn't come here anyways", he became enraged and grabbed her with both of his arms as if to drag her out. He must've thought better of it and took his arms off when my wife stood called it out, and luckily the bartender was helpful enough to gave up the Door Man's name (hopefully that was an honest answer). I challenge the managers of this bar to review the video footage if there is any that took place outside of the doorway and inside the bar between 1am and 1:45. And to retain that footage.

Their long hours (early morning until 2am) mean there are a couple of shifts of staff per day, but I most often find Jodie behind the bar, and she's one of the nicest bartenders in town. Lighthearted and well-spoken, she can chat with anyone about almost anything, and she manages the crowd well. She's a good egg who's seen it all, but seems to treat every day like it's possible to get through without any problems. There's no food for sale here, but they're happy to have you bring or order in anything you like, and you'll often see people at the bar eating meals from the many local restaurants. There are 8 TV's mounted around the place (plenty for its size), so you can watch a game if you like, and the digital jukebox is easy to manage from an app on your phone. Plus, they've got solid, reliable WiFi, in case you're sick of sitting in Starbucks. Drinks are modestly priced and generously poured, and there's ample parking, both in the lot out back and on the un-metered street out front. This may not be the right place for a marriage proposal, but it's definitely the right place to hang out and cool off in the dog days of summer.
