    Comedy night!
    Jazmin R.

It's been a few years and this place continues to be a fun time! Now I'm more of tequila drinker and 1942 is on the shelf paired with a very cold modelo. I enjoyed a comedy show and some appetizers which were very tasty. Fun Friday night with excellent customer service from Staff. Of course, I will be back!

My friday night spot! Full bar, pooltable, and the best buffalo wings in town. Jazmin the bartender has a great attitude and the best service. They have a comedy show on Fridays at 9pm and then a DJ after the show. Relaxed ambiance.

Love this bar. Enjoy playing my favorite songs on the TouchTunes jukebox. Jazmin is always in a great mood and super attentive. The hot wings are bomb. Vibe is always chill

I've been coming to this bar for a few years and it's always a good time. Located on Western between Pico and Venice, Harvard Yard bar is a dive bar with a 3 car parking area and street parking up and down the block. Residential parking is very rarely available. Javier, the owner is occasionally behind the bar or hanging out, ready to play pool with patrons or talk about the next event happening there. Everything from karaoke to open mic nights to various live music acts can be found here, usually for a minimal cover at the door. This is definitely not a place for any beer snobs as they have a dedicated tap list that hardly ever changes, but that's exactly what this neighborhood is looking for, something good, cheap and in a clean glass. The staff is always friendly and willing to play pool on slow nights too. What I love most about this place is its a bar. No one is coming in just to update their instagram or get the newest cocktail or been seen sitting next to a celebrity. It's just a cool spot for people who live in the area and just want a beer in a no frills place to just chill out. As far as food goes, there is a kitchen in the back and the owner has rented it out to various chefs from in and around the LA area to come and try their hand at finding something the fickle crowd might enjoy. This quarter, I believe it is a taqueria. Come by sometime and we can play pool, lover buys the drinks!!

What a cool place in the Pico Union area where very few dive bars exist now days. They are only open Thursday, Friday, and Saturday at the moment. I stopped by on a Wednesday night right before 8pm and the place was closed and all of a sudden the owner shows up. They opened for a special event and I was the only one there at the time. They offer happy hour before 8pm so a draft beer is a costly $8 after happy hour - steep for a dive bar.

This place is still one of my favorite spots in LA. Now that I'm a little older I see myself going to less concerts during weekdays because I get too sleepy. But lookout weekends, if I'm headed to LA/Hollywood, I'll stop by and enjoy the well made drinks and/or draft beer (draught for you hipsters out there). They always have sports on the classic Vizio TVs (my favorite brand). I have noticed that the Laker games are on the TVs more so than in past years. Ironically, this year's team makes you want to drink less than during Kobe's last years. And if sports isn't your thing, no worries they'll try and accommodate what you wanna watch if possible. For example, last time I got to watch the George Lopez Show with the subtitles on. That was fun! Anyways this place is chill and so are all the people. I'd recommend taking an Uber or Lyft (whichever one is a few cents cheaper) here cause parking isn't very fun.

Barebones, old, a bit of funk and grunge. I really like it here. Nobody gives AF. Broken lock on the men's room makes things interesting, ha! I went to see a friend DJ a set and we stayed until last call! Prices are decent, and service is good! The fries really hit the spot and were made fresh to order. Bartender delivered them to my table.

Cool little bar that sell food. These places are usually hard to come across cuz nowadays it's only drinks being served at night and the kitchen is closed. The menu is pretty basic which is good because you don't need all that flavor heavy food when drinking. THE FRIES AND WINGS YOU CAN NOT GO WRONG WITH AT ALL! They were tasty and amazing :) The atmosphere was hip and divey. There's a pool table, a stage, a large mirror near the dance fool, and a jukebox. It's pretty chill. Wasn't jumping the night I went but I wouldn't be surprise any other night it's lit! It's a dope venue and has potential. Will be back!

The bar staff know what they are doing and they are welcoming, chatty and chill. It feels like they actually want you there! My wife and I already love to swing by for a couple of post dinner drinks but we'll be back for some game day fun too - they have a bunch of screens. They don't do food BUT the couple who now own Her Little Bar also own a bunch of the restaurants nearby (Her Thai, Met Him At A Bar, and the recently opened The Night We Met). There are other great options too and whatever you go for, you can eat it in the bar. There's a good selection of drinks and the cocktails are solid. We already have a solid pub/microbrewery but this is a great bar with a different vibe. A bar has been in this location for years but we really love this new incarnation. The corridor between Wilshire Blvd and W 9th is becoming a great pocket for food and drink with good people looking for BS free good times and the Her Little Bar crowd, staff and management are a great example that. A welcome addition to the neighborhood.

But there is something quite wonderful about chasing pool tables at different dive bars. Namely that one does not know what billiards may bring. On this night, Conrad and I ended up at this cozy joint (pun intended) to handle some sticks with grace and alignment. And we did discover some fun and, on this occassion, a tattoo with wisdom that we should all heed, "the more we value things outside our control the less control we have." As the picture I took shows there is a candle above the quote which signals, in my opinion, that this should be a mantra that should govern one's life, as the one we are given comes with a burning wick the moment we are born. And, if we worry about things that we cannot mold to our liking or design, then we miss what is for us, time and again. But I visit dive bars so please take what I am saying with a dot of tattoo needle. One of the things that I really appreiated about this bar was the fact that I could use my credit card to get quarters. I never had that option and it was useful when needed. I ve been to other bars and that did not hapen. I mean who carries cash? I mean quarters? I guess people who need to pay meters and laundermats but they also have card options for them. Is this place ahead of the curve or other places in pace? I have been to bars and one is suppose to wait until the bartender is ready to serve you. But some people, me being one of them, thinks that the squeaky wheel gets the wheel. Or close mouth's dont get fed is the more apt, tired, saying. So I called the bartender over, had my shot, so I spoke. And she ignored me. Her choice. It is a legitimate process to avoid demanding customers. I then looked at a sign in the bar and it reminded me to "Behave." I do not know, but I highly suspect, that the sign worked on multiple levels and one of them was to remind the demanding lot to chill and wait their turn. So I did. Still I think that sometimes speaking up is the best way to get faster service. I mean, obvious, I know, but how many people sit and wait there turn to be given a beer that should have sooner rather than later. They "behaved" and their prize was a beer that waited for them to act and came when it was ready, not when they were thirsty. Even though Conrad and I went to play pool, the wait was too long. Like over 40 minutes long. There was other stuff we can do it had all the dive bar classics that are needed for a good time. Plus this place had charm. Pictures of big fish caught by people. Plus the people in there spoke about trips to Portugal and early mornings. So the people there might have a tip on a stock. As we drove away Conrad and I notice that they open the spot at 6:00 a.m,. And we were like who is drinking at the hour in a socially acceptable way, that is also healthy? I told him that the one time I had beer with my breakfast was on St. Patrick's day. So I did as the Irishmen did. Now I am left wondering who drinks beer before the trike of 9:00 a.m. and legitimately does it as a safe practice?
