I had been there for a deluxe pedicure and it was great. So I went back 2 weeks later for a dip manicure. I had a male tech which is fine but he did a poor job. Did nothing at all to my cuticles, just glued nails on and did the dip. While the nails are 'ok' everything else makes it look very sloppy. read more

I have been to other local salons like Jade and Grand Nails and pay $70-$72 for the services I got today: a basic mani for short nails / no nail polish + basic pedi w gel which always includes foot pumice/scraping bottom of feet and rubbing cream into calves and feet. Bliss charges an extra $20 to pumice/scrape feet! and, they did not add lotion to calves / feet at all... so my basic mani/no polish + basic pedi/gel cost $90!!! The tech's were stone faced and there were too many chairs bumping into each other which doesn't bother me - but for Value / Price, they get 1 star; they would have otherwise gotten 5 stars for cleanliness, appearance and careful nail painting. read more

The nails turned out super well but the whole outside of my finger are cut open and some where bleeding. The lady was very aggressive with me and my nails and when I would show clear signs of pain she would completely ignore it. She did a good job on the actual nails but again I had to sit in physical pain for them to actually look nice. The lady clearly didn't want to be doing my nails and it made me feel personally unwelcome. I did have a very nice encounter with the lady working at the front desk we squeezed me in and was very patient and nice when I was having difficulty paying. I would return back but I would not have the same lady do my nails again. read more

Thought it would be a nice change from nail chain salons. But not. A $45 " sugar scrub" pedicure lasted 30 minutes total with not even a top coat. Sloppy finish. I wanted to like this local business but I was not impressed. Save your time and money. read more

Let me start off by saying I used to love this place. When I tell you that I will never ever come back here? That's an understatement. The way the owner "Philip" treated me at checkout was unbelievable. Never have I been spoke to in that manner. I had a tech who messed up my manicure.... When I told him, he blamed it on me for not having the time to sit and have her redo both gel manicures.... Long story short he was awful. It took him 5 minutes to admit to me that he was the owner. Best salon I've been to in the 7 years I've lived in Richmond. Clean, clean, clean! Tons of colors to choose from. I love Andrea for my pedicure, she's put me to sleep a few times with the foot and leg massage, and always makes sure my feet are callous free and my skin is soft! The neck and shoulder massage included in some of the pedicures are worth it as well! Had Phillip for the first time for my dipped nails and I couldn't be happier with them! No weird lumps or edges that my hair gets caught in! Perfect almond shape! He has great talent and precision! VIP BIRTHDAY EXPERIENCE DISASTER: I scheduled the appointment for the VIP SERVICE/ROOM over a month ago. This wa scheduled for my partner's birthday, his first time ever experiencing a pedicure. We arrive early for our appointment and we check in and while we're sitting there waiting to be called. David eventually tells me, Rachel, do you want to have a lessor pedicure because the VIP room is already booked and I'm standing there in front of all of these people flabbergasted because, how can you double book a room for someone else if it's just a one person option. If I booked over a month ago, when did they book. He said it was a system issue, IN ALL THE TIME IVE BEEN COMING TO BLISS, THEY'VE NEVER HAD ISSUES WITH DOIBLE BOOKING AND IF SO, definitely not for the VIP SERVICE!! And the fact that David kept trying to offer me as lower pedicure just insulted me!! I scheduled for a particular service, I can pay for what I scheduled. I'm highly disappointed and it seems like this was a preferential treatment situation because how can you choose one person over the other if the services were booked ahead of time. And we get appointment confirmations, if it was indeed an overbooking, why did it take so long to notice. This was a lie, it was a preferential situation and that's not fair. Needless to say, I will not be visiting this establishment anymore. They have no regard for their own appointment system when it comes to whether you're someone they prefer versus someone they don't. read more

Average salon. No walk in sign should be posted. Too much demand for walk ins.,not because it's great, just at a convenient spot. Reservations heavily suggested. Use photos, speak up for what you want. Ask for something to drink too if you want something . Staff may not offer a beverage, but you can get a beverage including a glass of wine if you ask. read more

Though the nail tech was amazing the check out process was horrible. We had a bridal party of 11 which we had set appointments for. The manager kept calling us when we were headed there as if we were going to be a no show. Then owing them 762.00 it took an HOUR TO FINALLY PAY!! I could see if each individual was paying but one party was paying and they couldn't figure it out.and couldn't charge the card for the tip but wanted us to use an in house ATM. I have been going here for about two years and I am officially done with this business. Their services get more and more expensive while their technicians get worse and worse. I just paid $65 for an acrylic set and is the worst set I've ever gotten. This is the most expensive nail salon in the area and it is absolutely not worth it. I wanted a round shape, but the technician talked me into almond and then after, of course she told me there's an extra charge for almond, which she told me to get. My nails are always way too thick and never look natural. I've had problems with both their dip nails and acrylic. I've tried multiple different technicians. I've been getting my nails done for 20 years and the worst they've ever looked is the two years I've been going to this salon. There is absolutely no reason is hideous set of nails that I have should cost $65. I've left here disappointed many times but today is the final straw. The salon is clean and in a convenient location for me but it's time to find a new location. read more

Fantastic experience for my first visit to Bliss. Leonore was my technician and she did a fabulous job with my Tropical pedicure. Was very attentive and really made sure to get my heels back into flip flop shape. Guys were constantly cleaning all over the salon and Leonore made sure to disinfect each tool she used (even after removing it from the sealed package). My tech (Thais) poured about a gallon of lotion on my legs and then slathered it around, barely applying pressure. First impressions: Wow! This salon is really a treat -- from the moment you step inside you know you're going to be pampered. The ambience just oozes with 'luxury spa experience'. No blaring tvs or techs talking back and forth in a language you don't understand, or interruptions while they answer the phone. The nail lounge is very pretty and clean inside. A lot of choices for nail service. However my nail tech was nice but she only did an okay service. I had the basic pedicure and boy was it basic. My heels are still rough and barely and lotion or massage. This was $32. I then had manicure again very basic. A quick hand massage. I requested my nails be oval shape and they were more squared than oval. I have been to a lot of salons and I'm afraid this salon didn't live up to how pretty the salon is. In total I paid $55 for a mediocre service. I did tip her because she was nice. I probably won't return for to this salon for these services. I'll sit with the polish change only. read more

One week after a terrible dip manicure my nail polish chipped off. I told the tech while getting manicure that she was skipping steps , she said " you worry too much". When I told the manager during checkout about the poor techniques by Lucy, he said " why are you upset?". poor service and poorer quality control. Not going back. I went 3 times for mani/pedi and felt I was an imposition and did not feel welcomed. The prices are high and they charge for services that other salons don't, I asked for a manicure with nail dip and it was done after the dip was applied so my polish didn't last as long. I confirmed my appointment but they still called me as I was pulling into the parking lot... why did I confirm my appointment? And now.. they are requiring a deposit to make an appointment. I have been coming in every one to two weeks faithfully and this week I confused the time of my appointment and was 15 minutes late. They refused to provide the service or even offer an alternative. They said it is their policy to cancel you as a no show if you are more than 10 minutes late. They seem to think it is okay if you have to wait for them for more than 10 minutes but they cannot work with you even though this was the first time I was ever late. Simply disappointed. I went on a whim looking for a new spa nail salon in the area. When I walked in, the person at the front desk was very nice and asked what services I was needing. I stated a full pedicure and manicure to include the dip powder. Never once did he tell me that they take mostly appointments only and sometimes can fit people in to accommodate their needs. I was quickly sat in a predicate chair where the employee-Andrea started the water. She then bluntly stated she would not have time for one the more expensive pedicures-I needed to be able to relax and just have a nice pedicure!! She was very rude throughout my 20 minute pedicure because that's all she had time for. That cheap pedicure was $45! This is Richmond not L.A.!! My cuticles are still thick and was not trimmed. She pulled on my feet abruptly in what seemed like her frustration numerous times to add. Toenails are filed crooked-I could go on with her rudeness! She then stated they must have misunderstood that they thought I only wanted to get 1 nail fixed. Clearly I was in need of a complete manicure with the dip so, why would I only get 1 nail fixed? To add when I registered at the front desk I inputted that I wanted a manicure as well. After my poor pedicure I was then sat I another chair to get my nails done. Olivia was nice and did a decent job. Could be a little customer friendly but this salon doesn't seem to want new customers nor understand customer service at any cost. I had to tell Olivia a couple times how to file my nails straight as she seem to be rushed as well. I then looked down and she's her to please push my cuticles back and she then stated "oh you wanted a manicure too"?? Really! Shouldn't a manicure be included with the dip powder??!!! So I was charged additionally for that! If someone comes in with a need of a new dip manicure clearly your cuticles should pushed/trimmed! In the end, customer service was rude, sloppy and careless. I never right reviews for poor service anywhere but, I really like to treat myself and found myself almost in tears with dissatisfaction and disappointment. Big city, small town and word of mouth is everything especially in Midlothian area. They need to do better! read more
