If you're looking for BBQ, this isn't the place. They don't serve sliced brisket. They shred it and cover it in sauce. The pulled pork is covered in sauce so you have no smoke flavor at all. In town visiting and saw this place on Yelp so i thought we would give it a try even though it was located inside of a gas station. We ordered 2 meals.. a cowgirl which comes with 2 meats and a buckaroo which is a 1 meat plate each with one side. I got the fries (greasy and skinny) and the Mac and cheese which was alright but I don't think I'd get those sides again. Overall the meat flavoring was good! This place is eh. Not bad, not the best. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends but I could see myself eating there again way down the road but trying a different food. If you like a brisket sandwich that's chopped and in barbecue sauce, this is the place for you. This isn't a Texas brisket place with the burnt ends and more smoke flavor which is what i crave. However, there is so much tender and lean meat on your sandwich, it is hard to eat it all. The fresh cut fries were really good and my boyfriend loved the barbecue fry sauce. The barbecue sauce is very good also; not too sweet and not too vinegary. There was a line when we went, but the people working there were very fast at taking everyone's orders. so it went fast. Had the dude replacing our windshield not told me there was a bbq place inside the teeny gas station next door, I would have never known. We tried the loaded fries with barbecue pork and split a brisket sandwich on the recommendation of the gentleman behind the counter. Be warned, a full loaded fry is pretty huge. Finally, a first class southern BBQ joint in Rexburg! How good is it? Well, I've petitioned Yelp to let me give it 6 stars. I had the pulled-pork sandwich meal for only $5.50. It included a huge sandwich on a po' boy roll, loaded with mass quantities of delicious, juicy, Carolina style, pulled pork. It was covered with a delicious light cole slaw (optional, but HIGHLY recommended) and included some amazing waffle fries and a drink. I'm not sure how they can stay in business giving you that much food for such a low price. I've tasted southern BBQ in the deep south, and this was as good or better than any pulled pork I've ever eaten. Other fun items on the menu included the brisket, ribs, chicken, burgers, and dogs. The Blisters dog is wrapped in bacon and they have a deep-fried dog that is [literally] to die for. The fries come with Blister's tasty fry sauce, which is unique and very hard to decribe. It is also potentially addictive. Blister's BBQ is less than one mile west of Rexburg on Main street, at Mother Hibbards. It isn't much to look at since its located in the gas station/food stop. It has an intentionally dive-y feel (the menu is written on sheet metal with a marker), but don't be deceived. The quality of the food and the size of the servings are off-the-charts. The best food in the City of Rexburg. I have graduated and left Rexburg, but my Blister's cravings will always haunt me! Great Carolina style BBQ (vinegar based, not ketchup based). My North Carolinian husband is the pickiest when it comes to BBQ, and he raved about it. He loves the pulled pork with extra crushed red pepper, and I am a big fan of the Cuban sandwich. Their waffle fries are also pretty terrific, and you leave feeling really full. Remember, you are NOT there for the atmosphere, you are there for the food! This little whole in the wall restaurant is amazing!! It was my first time going and hearing that it was located in a gas station had me questioning if I should! I got the Squealer Pulled Pork Sandwich combo with fries and coleslaw. For only $4.80!! The squealer is smaller portioned which seemed to be a good choice for the first time. When I got my meal it looked kind of small, wasn't sure if it would be enough (I eat a lot). I took my first bite and I was in heaven! So tasty!! I opted for the sweet sauce and it was perfect! The coleslaw and fries were delicious as well! They have 2 different fry sauces(for my east coast followers: ketchup and mayo with some special stuff) One of the sauces is made with vinegar and the other is sweet. I liked both! I feel like a lot of people are probably turned off by the fact that this place is inside a gas station. I actually love that. It has a great local, hole in the wall feel to it. The service was great. I told them that I'd never been in before and needed advice. They let me taste the pulled pork flavors and told me that a lot of people order the "cowgirl" which is two meats and a side. I ended up getting the sweet pork and ribs with fries. The food was delicious. The sweet pork in particular was amazing. I wasn't crazy about their regular pulled pork that I sampled, it had a strong vinegar taste. The ribs were good but the sweet pork definitely stole the show. The fries were decent. With delicious and reasonably priced food I think I'll make this my go-to BBQ place in this area. read more

Ribs are really good, brisket is okay cause I don't like it's shredded and overly marinated.

Okay so, I usually don't write reviews, but my experience here really needed shared. Long story short, for such a humble looking place, this place throws down. And I'm going to be craving this food for a long time to come. The longer version of this story is: I tend to love BBQ places. I just love the different takes on BBQ sauces, and that is almost the sole reason I go to BBQ places. But, above my love of BBQ is my love of a Cuban sandwich. I have been on the hunt for the best Cuban sandwich for years now. So whenever I see one on a menu, I am obliged to order one. Much to my surprise, at this BBQ place, there's a Cuban on the menu. Honestly, I didn't expect much. But oh my goodness! Was I wrong? Full disclosure, not what I, myself, would consider a true "Cuban", but it was nonetheless OUT.STANDING. Truly.
