Blitz Bar & Grill

Tonight I came in to Blitz Bar & Grill to play with my pool league. This is a great place to have a nite out and watch sports as well as play pool and darts. There are 3 active pool tables. Nice!!! I ordered a Bacon lettuce tomato and Avocado sandwich with a side salad. A big meal for a fair price. The bar is really nice with Jack Daniel's flags and nice lighting. A beautiful vase of flowers on the bar. Karen is the Bartender as well as the server. Great job Karen. This is a clean and nice place to hang with friends and family. Many large bar tables as well many 4 tops. Grab a beer and a pool and stick and play a game or watch a game. Julie A

Another hidden surprise. A co-worker suggested this place, it's located at the corner of Rock and Hymer. There is ample parking. I arrived early so wasn't busy for lunch yet. When you enter it is an upscale dive sports bar. There are a lot of tables, high and low to sit at or the large bar area. They have pool tables and possibly more but did tour much today. I was immediately welcomed by staff and asked if I was dinning in or taking out. I chose to stay and ordered the BYOB Burger with fries. It was cooked to order perfectly, one of the better burgers I've had in Reno/Sparks. For the size and quality of food, it was very reasonably priced. I will be back and recommend trying this place.

I love a good "dive bar" that has heart and soul but still looks clean enough that you would trust eating there. Blitz is just the perfect place for this! We came here a few years ago and haven't wanted to come back ever since because the burger was THAT good. We decided to meet a friend here on a Friday night at 5pm, and much to our delight, discovered that happy hour was still going on for 30 more minutes. Service was excellent, we were immediately greeted and seated and the server knew every single beer right off the top of her head. Amazing beer selection and great happy hour prices. The menu is huge! We decided to order the blue cheese burger with fries, the Buffalo chicken salad, and our friend ordered a quesadilla. Food came out pretty quickly and of course we loved the burger just as we remembered. My salad was excellent and was served with 2 sides of garlic, Texas toast. The fried chicken on my salad was cooked perfectly and served with a side of your choice of dressing (I chose blue cheese, surprise surprise) They even brought out an avocado separately for me to add in. Yum! Our friend love his quesadilla and ate the whole thing! Great prices, great atmosphere, great service, great beer selection, darts and pool, we will be back!

Don't overlook this place if you're looking for a sports bar! It is unassuming from the outside, one of several businesses in a large strip mall. Right across the street from Revision, so I'm sure that takes away some of their beer drinking business. I work nearby and came here after work with several of my coworkers. We were surprised to see how busy it was on a Thursday evening! We had no problem getting a table despite how many people were here. They have several pool tables that were all full of people playing match after match. There are many TVs showing different sports events. There was one waitress who does it all! She was the bartender for our drinks, took our orders, brought out our food, and was our cashier at the end. Despite them being busy, she still checked on us frequently and did everything in a timely manner; it was quite impressive. You can tell she knows most of the people who come in here as regulars. Drinks are affordable and came out quickly when ordered. Their food menu is massive, they have every type of bar food you could want! Plus several specials throughout the week. I went with a french dip, it was served with au jus and french fries. I was impressed with the quality of the food, it was better than I expected for sports bar food. The quantity was also quite large for only costing $14.99. I'm sure we will be back for more post-work day hangouts!

A fun hole in the wall! The service was friendly, the beers are ice cold, the burgers are tasty, and the tater tots are amazing! There's not a lot to the inside but if you're a fan of playing pool, it's a fun place to get a free game in, or join a league. I also recommend getting food to go and going across the street to a local brewery favorite, Revision! The hours vary so call first:)

Being that I had Tacos on the brain since Sunday, knowing that Cinco de Mayo was around the corner the first place that popped into my mind for delicious tacos was Blitz. This used to be an old work lunch stomping grounds years back. I called the day before and they are offering curbside! Yesss!! The tacos were just like I remember them crispy, overflowing and full of sabor. On top of that they were serving margaritas to-go! What a way to turn the day around! Being Taco Tuesday beef tacos are $1.69 instead of $2.00. I ordered three for myself plus three chicken tacos for a family member plus one margarita and it came out to $17. Not too shabby! Plus the waitress was super friendly and thanked me for my business. Gloves were used during the transaction as well. I'll make it a point to not let too much pass until my next stop here!

Crab Rangoon cheese sticks were a fun way to eat mozarella sticks and they were delicious! Could use maybe some green onions in the filling and a spicier dressing but yum! Caesar salad with salmon was good. Not the best dressing but salmon was cooked to my liking (a little under done). Friends seemed to enjoy their meals but I forgot what they ordered. First visit service was so lax. Very casual and no one in a rush. Loved the big screens to watch the World Cup. Second visit sat by the bar. Service was friendly personable and we got checked on often. We tipped her well because she knew we were going to be there watching the USA game and we had just eaten so ordered drinks and desserts. The cookie dessert with ice cream is FABULOUS. warm and gooey and salty and chocolatey. So lovely. Definitely recommend. We ordered more crab Rangoon sticks. And other friend had the fried donuts but they looked overdone. All in all, it's pricey because it's in the resort. But got good screens to watch sports and it's not going to be mind blowing gourmet meals, it's a sports bar but you should be satisfied.

For dinner, we had the Cowboy ribeye and filet, and both were cooked perfectly. The creamed spinach and potato sides were equally impressive and the perfect complement to the steaks. The service was also excellent from start to finish. Overall, a surprisingly elevated dining experience with genuinely great food and attentive service. Charlie Palmer Steak definitely exceeded our expectations, and we'll absolutely be back.

It was such a beautiful day.... where can we eat outside?…read more I found "The Spot", its in the old Smee's location on the river. When we showed up, we asked if we could sit at a table outside, the guy was a little overwhelmed, he said "I can sit you in 10 mins". I said "can we have this table". OK, but....just know I'll be with you as soon as I get caught up, I'm totally fine with that I said. . He bought us a couple menus to look over. Then a table on the railing with shade opened up, I didn't care about the table was dirty with dishes, so we decided to move. I love to look at the river and watch the people go by. The server said, I'll be over soon! He was never so happy when Sierra showed up to help him out. He came over to our table I said "I hope you don't mind, I moved to be in the shade, I know I'm one of those pain in the ass customers". Then he started joking with me and it was the perfect ice breaker. My server and part owner's name is Casey! He is an awesome guy and such a hard worker to ensure his customers are taken care of. I love that. We had a couple beers, he has quite the selection of beers on tap, he supports the community breweries such as Lead Dog and Revisions. My husband had the breakfast burrito $13, it was huge with homemade tortilla chips with salad and guacamole. I had the fish and chips. You get three large pieces of fish, fries and yummy coleslaw. I love how they put the tater sauce and ketchups in personal cups for you that shows class. My fish was absolutely delicious better than the old Smees and especially the new location. You get a nice meal for $20. They have indoor, outdoor, bar seating. They have a little merch area and a gaming bar if you feel lucky. I know the Open Championship Bowlers are in town, if you're looking for nice comfort food "tavern style" location this is the place for you on the Reno Riverwalk 50 N Sierra. It upstairs.

After some searching The Spot is what caught our eye. Located by the river and where Reef and Smees used to be. including what you ordered or used, Since this was a new spot we decided to just order and share a ton of appetizers. This included: cup of cream of mushroom soup, pretzel bites, spinach dip, poutine fries and Brussel sprouts. 2/5 were a huge hit where the orders we would not try again. Cup of mushroom soup: cup size is a good appetizer portion, good mushroom taste but WAY too salty. Would not order again. Pretzel bites: SUPER YUM! Slightly crunchy at the corners and fluffy inside. Perfectly bite sized and great dips (cheese and mustard). Loved these and would absolutely order again. Spinach dip: not a fan. The one thing I did like about this is that the dip portion was extremely generous, but I was not a fan of the taste. For me it was like slightly watered down sour cream. You have the options of chips or baguette. We went with baguette and for the first time in my life, the dipping vessels were very scant compared to the amount of dip so if anyone orders this, I would recommend it with chips. Would not order again. Poutine fries: YUM! Definitely a shareable portion. Thin fries topped with yummy breaded cheese curds and piping hot gravy this was my favorite thing. The gravy was perfectly salted and I loved the breaded cheese curds. I do wish the fries were thicker, like a wedge cut but honestly these were insanely good. Will order again. Brussel sprouts: made with bacon which is always a must for that yummy flavor. Also drizzled with balsamic which is a win in my book. These were very tender and delicious but very oily or greasy which kind of gave me the ick but flavor was definitely there. Will not order again. We were seated immediately upon arriving and waters were brought out. Orders were taken quickly and food came out quick! However after the food came out, no one came to check on us, see how we were doing or clear plates. We were always having to flag someone down for refills, napkins and the check. It wasn't busy. The inside is clean, has a large bar area and outdoor seating. Also lots of TVs. I don't think I'll be returning, but I do recommend the poutine fries and pretzel bites. Things to note: Have to walk up stairs to enter. No private parking lot, have to street park and a lot of parking is metered. 9:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Saturday & free on Sundays / holidays.

I will start by saying my sandwich and beer were tasty and good. They will boast all local ingredients, but 30 bucks for a cheese steak on ciabatta bread is steep. The burger my wife had was the same price and nothing special to note exept she ordered no tomato and it came with tomato. Both of our fries were soggy and cold. A draft beer for 16 dollars is also more than expected. Our bartender was professional and chatty. He did pull a nice bottle of tequila down for us to admire, and told us about some other fancy top shelf stuff they had. I appreciate they were even open. Service was great, everyone looked taken care of. The place looked clean; and the food looked great everywhere, ours just flopped. All of the other patrons there were probably late 50s and up at 2pm on Memorial day. This is one of the most expensive underwhelming lunches I've had ever had in Reno. I am sure if we had said something they would have given us new fries, but that isnt the point. You have a price set well above average so I expect that it will be executed suprbly.
