Well I found this place quite nice for a local bar/tavern. They have weekly specials that I found to be a great deal. I went in there on a Tuesday so as you would guess it's taco Tuesday. We went here based upon Yelp reviews and was so glad we gave it a try. Although it is in a commercial area, the atmosphere was very pleasant, the facility is large and it is clean and comfortable. If bikers and ORVs scare you, you might want to pass this place up. But if you care about good food for reasonable prices and good service, read on. My wife and I ordered a French dip sandwich to share, and we casually added a taco each. The Tacos were amazing and were so cheap! The French dip was also very good; not as unusual as the tacos, but still very good. Our friends also really liked their food too. Now being in a commercial area, this place is pretty busy at lunch, and not so much at dinner. So just because you come for dinner and it is not too busy, don't be dissuaded. It is just about the clientele they attract. I am sure they keep the local business's employees well fed. They sure did us! Met a client today at Blitz, and I was happily surprised! I knew we were meeting at Blitz, so I did a quick Yelp check and found good reviews, and did a quick study on what people liked. After reading, I pre-decided on a Burger, Taco's, or Pulled Pork Sandwich. I arrived before my client, and was impressed upon walking it. Outside is all rough industrial, lots of concrete, and inside is thoughtfully done, good size bar, dining area, and adult play area (2 pool tables, 3 dart boards). Everything is spaced just right, and the play area doesn't conflict w/ dining, actually complements it in a professional way. The Server was on top of the busy room. My client arrives and I ask him what to order, although my eye was already drawn to a fresh meat burger (1/2LB) w/ Chili Cheese ($8.99). I asked about sides, she recommended fries, as they come w/, but you can get other sides for upcharge, I remember salad, and garlic fries, but there were more options. I was excited to try the food, as a good Chili Cheese Burger is not easy to find in town. Our food arrived in the perfect amount of time, and my burger was how I like Chili Cheese, served open face and SMOTHERED! My fries were Crinkle Cut, they were perfectly hot and crispy and TASTY! I was 100% a FAN of this meal, and excited to try other dishes. My client got Chips and Salsa w/ his Taco Salad, and towards the end, he offered me a bite, as I had already quickly polished off my meal, and the salsa looked homemade, so I had to try. It was a great salsa and actually lots of spice and heat, which surprised me in a GOOD WAY! Blitz is bringing back good food, good value, good service, and good fun, it's definitely worth a visit! Tip: Traffic is horrendous on Rock during lunch hour, and it's a Sparks traffic lights, so they take forever to change. I finally got in the right lane thinking I could cut into left lane to take freeway I-80W, no luck. I had to go to Pyramid and UTurn. I am not sure if there's an alternative way out of there, but it would be worth looking into! read more

Love Blitz! Met my husband and a few of his coworkers for lunch today. So I went early to order and asked to wait a bit. They were on their way, and it was perfect. I never would have guessed it but this place is a diamond in the rough; the food, prices and services are great. I have never had a bad food item here, the menu is short but delicious. Being new to the area, I wanted to find a local place to have my Birthday dinner with the hubby. Decided we would Blitz and I'm beyond satisfied. We were quickly greeted by Sam who was friendly and made us feel right at home. He recommended the burgers and tacos so I tried the Blue Cheese Bacon Burger with a house salad. We also got the freshly made in house chips and salsa. Sooooo good. Hot fresh chips and the salsa was perfect. The burger came out quickly and was probably one of the best I've ever had. Bacon was cooked nice and crispy but not burnt, meat was so fresh and juicy and the blue cheese melt was wonderful. The rest of the large plate was filled with a nice fresh salad that balances the burger nicely. The atmosphere is a nice neighborhood bar feel with pool tables and digital dart boards. Well lit and everything was clean. Sam made sure we had everything we needed and we felt like we were long time patrons. We will be back for sure! read more

I have experienced great service at lunch time but after 5:00 P.M. last week was absolutely the worst service I have ever experienced in my entire life. Pretty much ignored the entire 5 hours I was there. At the bar and at a table with a group of people. The bartender needs fired!!!! I never like to do negative reviews but this was just beyond bad! 4 hours and served 1 drink and bothered by our food order. They were completely out of their special. It was karaoke night and we had no idea but it was really fun. Couldn't get menus to order, couldn't find the server to order and really couldn't find her to cash out. Don't let any crusty locals giving you the stink eye stop you from going into Blitz Bar and Grill. This is one of those places that looks smaller from the front, but hides a surprisingly large restaurant space. I'd say that it could easily accommodate a large group of about 50. I went here for lunch because I had been meaning to check it out as I passed by several times and it seemed like that they had good food from some of the reviews. I'm surprised that this hasn't been checked out by more Yelpers! The menu is full of goodies like burgers, sandwiches, salads, and wraps, with an appetizer section with yummy bar food standards. I decided on some chicken strips, which came out quick and were accompanied by crinkle cut fries. These puppies were hand breaded and the fries were lightly seasoned. Perfect portions and I enjoyed people watching while I ate. I looked at the drink menu while I was there and they offer a nice selection of basic brews. I'm not a drinker, but I can tell you that they don't do anything super fancy or complex. Two pool tables, a few dart boards, and several TV's share a space with a large square bar. So happy we came across this "Cheers" style bar last night. Actually we were from out of town and we're planning on going to a place nearby but it was closed. We decided to go into Blitz, were seated and within a few minutes the owner herself greeted us and handed us menus. The bar was full of what looked to be "regulars" but not many diners. Since I was craving Mexican food I told the owner we may not stay. She then asked "Did we do something wrong?" Her concern with my response was heartwarming so we decided to stay. I ordered 2 beef tacos and my friend ordered the steak sandwich. My tacos were really good. The shell was made with a Parmesan crusted tortilla which was remarkably tasty. The steak sandwich and salad (you had 3 side options) was also good. The drinks were very reasonable. There are two pool tables and you can play for FREE. There are also 5 electronic dart boards. The place started to fill up before we left with pool league patrons. All in all we enjoyed the service, good food and friendly atmosphere. read more

Hallelujah! Thank you Baby Jesus for a smoke-free bar in the area!!! Owner is super nice. Waitress on Friday night could have been friendlier but she was proficient. We always treat our servers well and don't expect to be waited on hand and foot every second, so not sure why she seemed a little pissy with us. Food is good. Chicken on the grilled chicken sandwich was pounded thin. Exactly how we like it! Fries were hot and crispy. Plenty to do, TVs all over with sports on all the time, Phoenix dart boards, pool tables, music, and it never feels cramped.
