We were pleasantly greeted & seated immediately, then just like that, our server (Ramon Jr) was at our table, took our drink order & answered a few questions. I'm glad I had perused the menu yesterday & pretty much knew what I wanted, my daughter ordered Ramon's Skillet & I had the Chicken Fried Steak and eggs ( gravy on the side). Portions were huge. I was glad cuz I had been fasting due to a medical procedure. They know what they are doing in the kitchen, eggs were perfectly over medium w/ crispy edges just the way I like them. The chicken fried steak was really Milanese style, perfectly crispy like I'm used to in Mexico, I tasted the gravy & it was really good but once I realized it wasn't American style CFS, I asked our waiter for salsa & pico to put on top!!! Perfection!! I had a lot to tangle with on my own plate but my daughter & I swapped bites of each others dishes, hers came with soft tortillas, the bite I had melted in my mouth! We arrived on a busy morning and were quoted a 25-minute wait. The timing was pretty accurate, and we were eventually seated in the front dining room. Unfortunately, the restaurant lacked any real ambiance, and the bathrooms could definitely use a good cleaning. The menus also need to be reprinted--they're so worn that they're difficult to read. We started with screwdrivers. They only come in one size. My first drink barely tasted like it had any vodka, although after my husband ordered a second one, I could definitely taste it in his. I ordered the ground beef taco salad, and it was enormous! It was fresh and filling, but I honestly wish they offered a half-size option because I couldn't come close to finishing it. My husband ordered the breakfast burrito with two meats and enjoyed it. Our total came to $63 when paying cash. Be aware that if you pay with a credit card, they add nearly a 4% surcharge. Overall, I can see why this place has a loyal following, but it just wasn't a favorite of mine. Love this diner style restaurant. The food is delicious and has good portions, the service is good, and if you pay in cash, you get a discount. We tried the waffle with bananas and strawberries and the new Chile Relleno Omelet. The waffle was good with plenty of fruit, and the omelet was delicious! The red sauce is flavorful, but not spicy. The Chili Relleno was fresh and a little spicy, which I love. It also came with a choice of potatoes and toast. If you order coffee, they offer flavored creamers at the table, which is wonderful for those of us who want coffee, but need the flavor! Overall a very popular and great restaurant. If Michael T. and Yelp ever host a Battle of the breakfast spots I need to be there. This would need to be one of the places everyone should visit. Just this past weekend I had a chance to visit Los Altos and it did not disappoint. The ambiance felt vaguely familiar, similar to another breakfast spot closer in town, but regardless I was hungry. The wait was about 15 minutes for a party of two. We waited inside what appeared to be a busy Saturday morning with families coming in to get their fix. I'm feeling sweet and savory today. A Tres Leches French toast combo with bacon, scrambled eggs and country style potatoes. Fritzie W. loves her eggs benedict. Almost any flavor, any style, covered in a salsa de verde for her Los Altos bene. Man, the flavors. The French toast was delicious, the tres leches sauce, wasn't too sweet, but just enough to let you know it means business. So good. You can't go wrong with eggs, bacon and potatoes. Fritzie's let me try her Benedict it was really good, prepared right--flavorful, savory. Nothing prepared was overdone, the servings were satisfying and our waitress was kind and accommodating along with the manager that shift having visited our table briefly to see how we were enjoying our meal. Overall this place is local to my cousins place and I will definitely make another trip to this place to grab some breakfast when im in the area again. Love from Southern California! Found this gem after a ball game. It's only from 7-2:30 and I can see why they don't need to stay open all day. We were seated quickly. Our server came to ask for our drink order promptly. And we didn't even wait a long time for our food to come out even though there were big parties here. I ordered the chile relleno omelette, which is new on their menu. It did not disappoint! The omelette itself is covered in a red sauce that is not spicy. The relleno inside had a little spice and the queso fresco was plentiful. The country potatoes were a great compliment to the dish! let me just tell you the only good thing about this place was the front staff. The lady by the name of Wendy was kind and sweet although she talked to this place up. I was nothing but sold short. I ordered the chili with rice and beans with green sauce instead they brought me a red sauce which tasted like tomato sauce. The rice was burnt, and the beans were bland. My mother ordered the Chilaquiles the meat was burnt. There was a bunch of fat, and almost seemed like it was boiled first that Chilaquiles were soaked in red sauce were soggy. not to mention they want to charge for chips and salsa. Never have I ever been to a Mexican restaurant the charges for chips and salsa. My aunt got the most basic waffle with eggs and hashbrowns extremely plain. How could you go wrong right well they managed. It had no flavor and was not great at all. Needless to say I really wished that this place was gonna get a great review from me. My girlfriends and I met here for Sunday brunch. The server was very attentive and quick to fulfill our requests even with how wildly busy the restaurant was. The food was delicious and it was hard to choose which meal to order. My favorite items here are the Fajita or the All Meat skillets. There is so much food that I always leave with leftovers and breakfast the next day. The Fajita skillet is served with three eggs any style and a choice of toast. It comes with country potatoes, onions, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, and the option of steak, chicken, or shrimp. I love to get my potatoes extra crispy and gluten-free toast. The All Meat Skillet is served with three eggs and a choice of toast. It has country potatoes, onions, tomatoes, peppers, ham, applewood smoked bacon, sausage, jack, and cheddar cheese. My husband and son tell me that the biscuits and gravy are incredible. We ordered the Ramon Skillet and the carne asada. I really liked the Ramon Skillet - it was packed with flavor and had a nice touch. The pancakes that came with it were absolutely delicious: warm, fresh, and so good. My boyfriend's parents enjoyed the carne asada. Personally, I thought it was a little dry and tough, but they liked everything else that came on the plate. All of ours breakfast came out a bit pricey. It is a good breakfast spot with lots of tables. If you're stopping by during a rush hour, just know you will wait quite a bit for food. We just moved to this side of town so decided to check out this local and very popular breakfast place. We waited 15 minutes which wasn't too bad. I ordered the Carne Asada and definitely recommend. The meat was juicy and well cooked. My husband ordered the meat lover omelette and was not able to finish it because the it was a very large portion. We want to come back and taste their tres leches pancakes because those look delicious! We were a little bummed with the Bloody Mary because it was nothing special. This place is without a doubt the full 100%. The service is always exceptional. The staff are friendly, very fast, and knowledgeable of the menu and can help when needing a few ideas from the menu. It's always busy, but not chaotic and they do their best to accommodate and offer chairs for people to sit while the wait for a table. It is very clean and well organized, and there's lots of space for big parties. I love the coffee so much. I'm not sure which brand they use, but it's good enough that I honestly don't need milk. You cannot go wrong with the food selection. Came here twice while visiting my parents-once for lunch and once for breakfast. Both were good meals, but breakfast steals the show. For lunch I had the blackened chicken sandwich, which was good and they definitely know how to make great fries. Breakfast was the Machaca scramble, which I loved! The beef was tender, the serranos reasonably spicy, and the hash browns done just the way I like them. They are very popular for breakfast, and I can see why. We visited Los Altos Diner on the recommendation of a friend. Located in Sparks, we were driving up from So Reno, would the drive to Los Altos be worth it ? In a word, "oh yeah!" A simple diner, Los Altos is not fancy. The restaurant is big, clean and airy. The wait staff was friendly and attentive but more on that later. Basically because it looked amazing on the menu, we started with the Nacho Fries. Essentially Steak Nachos but instead of chips, it is served over a bed of fries. The fries were coated and fried to a wonderful crispy texture. The Nachos had both shredded cheese and queso. Served with all the normal fare, this dish was AMAZING. The only down side it was super filling, so be careful. Being from Los Angeles, I'm basically Hispanic (I am Asian), so my go to order was for the Chorizo Scramble. Chorizo can be a tricky dish as many Chorizos can be quite greasy. Not this dish. The Chorizo Scramble was full of flavor and richness and not greasy. The hashbrowns were crispy yet light and fluffy on the inside. The corn tortillas were warm and steamed to perfection. Perfect execution. My wife ordered French Toast. A solid order, with simple but perfectly prepared French Toast and eggs. My wife ordered hers with a slice of bacon and a sausage link. Both were quite good. One of our guests wanted "Huevos Mexicanos", his favorite breakfast meal. The waitress said initially, we don't have that one the menu but "give me a minute". After a brief pause, she said, "okay, I think we can do that". She entered a bunch of stuff into her tablet and in a bit Huevos Mexicanos was indeed delivered to the table. It is so nice when the staff are problem solvers rather than just saying "we can't do that" without even trying. You get an extra star Ma'am, just for you outstanding customer service. Well done. We also ordered a Chicken Salad. The salad was HUGE and looked amazing but after the Steak Nacho Fries, most of the salad came home with us. What a great find. So we went Saturday, January 3. The food is always wonderful. It's one of our go to places when we can . The portions there are always so big there's extra food left over. I got the chorizo eggs scrambled with hashbrowns. My husband got the chorizo omelette with hashbrowns and sourdough toast. They weren't too busy, but they were busy. This is the first time, though our food did not come out real hot like normal and the toast needed extra butter we had asked for it, but it never arrived till almost the end of our meal, our server was friendly, but not as attentive as we've had in the past so I'm gonna have to give it four stars this time instead of five.. we will be back read more

I have tried this place a few times and have never been really impressed. Although the location is conveniently located to my house, I haven't have much luck with their food and service. It has been a year or two since I have been here. The last time there was a long black hair mixed in the scrambled eggs of my friends plate. We kept being ignored, 1st when we were trying to order and then next when we were trying to tell them about the hair in the eggs. At any rate we did not enjoy our food at all as the hair was a big turn off. I even overheard near by table giving critic about the food they got, While it's busy, my waiter introduced herself , and boy she is out of breath. Us being in healthcare industry we told her to take a breather and drink water and come back to us. She returned to the table 5 minutes later to take out ordered. I ordered something from the skillet so did my friends. I ordered the Fajitas skillets with chicken as my protein choice. It has bell peppers, onion, tomatoes, cheese, potatoes and sunny side up. I love this dish, chicken is well marinated, it's not dry, love the crunch on some of the potatoes. Not overcooked at all. It has good flavor to it. My friend ordered New Master's skillet with a twist, she wanted mushrooms to be added, Her skillet consists of shrimps, sausage, broccoli, green peppers, tomatoes , onion and of course her mushroom she requested. Met a friend for lunch at Los Altos Breakfast and Lunch. We hadn't seen each other in a while and wanted a place where we could catch up. For that, it was the perfect place. The staff was friendly, and checked on us periodically, but didn't pressure us, which was perfect. We came in just before the lunch rush, and ended up staying until they closed. Their menu is extensive and it took us a while to figure out what we wanted to order. My friend ordered a burger and a side salad, and I ordered a Reuben with sweet potato fries. Once we ordered our food arrived quickly. I wish I had taken a photo of my friend's burger and salad. The salad was huge for a side salad, and so much more than just lettuce. Her burger was also substantial. She said it was delicious. My Reuben looked very promising. The marble rye was toasted, but not drown in butter, and the sweet potato fries were delicious. Hot and crispy. Unfortunately, my sandwich didn't live up to expectations. There was very little of the thinly sliced corned beef, and almost no sauerkraut. The did bring me more when I asked, but since it is one of the main features of a Ruben, I shouldn't have to ask. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The Los Altos Breakfast and Lunch is a diner-type restaurant, without a lot of ambience. It's a great place to sit and talk with friends, and there were lots of other groups socializing around us. We went on sunday at 12p. Waited 40 min sat down and ordered coffee, water and a soda. We got our drinks but never a refill. We love water and drink a ton. It sucked that we ate ice cuz we needed water. Our food arrived. Still no refill on drinks.
