    Double Espresso Shot iced
    Leilani M.

A quick stop for a little wake me up. Designated pick up parking spots right in front with plenty of regular parking available. Comfortable inside seating or outdoor patio area shared with other eateries. Wi-Fi for guests. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Real coffee drinker menu available. Double shot espresso iced was robust and delicious. Perfect for the heat of day. I'd go back in a heartbeat. A definite bookmark favorite when in the area.

My granddaughter bought me coffee this morning from there

Their service and their coffee is so amazing and they're five minutes from where I live That's my spot from now on it tasted so good melted in my mouth. Best coffee ever they're at atmosphere is so beautiful.

I used to go to their location at the Spectrum, but's it's been a while since I've been down there. Surprised to find one so close to UCI. Staff is very friendly and efficient. The place is a good sized with some seating inside. The plaza also has plenty of outdoor seating. It's in a pretty big plaza with plenty of food/drink options. It can get pretty busy, but I've never had an issue trying to find parking. So I only get three things from them and it really depends on what I'm craving that day, Iced VTM, Iced VTMatcha, or Iced Uji Matcha Latte. They have plenty of customization options if that's your thing. All have excellent flavor and really depends on your preference. They VTM is very strong can can be pretty sweet, but that's really what you should be expecting. For the other two matcha options, I tend to do less sweet and less ice. Love the matcha flavor without too much sweetness and less ice so you take your time enjoying it without it getting diluted down. Nice location for some really good drinks. Prices are completely fair for what you are getting.

    Light Vietnamese iced coffee

Ugh I used to stop at blk dot every time I come up to OC but this is the last straw. Out of sheer principle I can't support a business that charges like $8 for an iced coffee but leaves this much of their cup empty. So bad I had to take a picture. Come on blk dot, you can do so much better than this. Your customers deserve better!

Stopped Blk dot coffee and what a treat! We tried the VTM coffee, Jasmine tea macchiato, and breakfast sausage bowl. The VTM was very smooth, strong and flavorful. If you want a lighter drink, but not coffee, the Jasmine macchiato hits the spot. It's flavors very light with just the right amount of sweetness. Now I didn't expect much of breakfast food from coffee spots, but the Breakfast sausage bowl is very flavorful and filling! The house made sausage was so good!! The bowl is filled with potatoes, egg frittata, pico de gallo, and chipotle drizzle. This was a winner! The cafe is pretty spacious with plenty of seating inside and outside. The cafe is kept clean and has merch and coffee for sale. Staff and service were great! Grab a breakfast bowl, drink, and enjoy! Happy Nom Nom!

the brekkie bowl is DELICIOUS!!! Got it with corn and the potatoes are crunchy. Matcha's a little watery but still pretty good and topped with cocoa powder

Uji Matcha Einspänner 8.18/10- made with uji culinary grade matcha latte, cane syrup, sweet foam top, cocoa powder. I always get the Vietnamese iced chai latte with espresso at Blkdot but decided to switch it up and try their matcha. This was pretty good! The matcha had this interesting balance of sweet and bitter - I personally prefer sweet matcha given my sweet tooth. It also had a slightly grainy texture which I'm not the biggest fan of when it comes to matcha, but I still really enjoyed the drink overall. My favorite part was definitely the sweet foam top with cocoa powder. I think Blkdot has the BEST foam toppings ever - they really know what they're doing. The sweet foam with cocoa powder honestly gave the drink this amazing tiramisu-like flavor which actually complemented the subtle hint of bitterness from the matcha perfectly. It also made the drink creamier which I really liked. I honestly think the drink started tasting better after the first few sips as the sweet foam top kind of mixed into the matcha. I normally don't mix my drinks but in this case, it was great! I would get this again but I'll probably stick with my usual Vietnamese iced chai latte with espresso next time (it's too good of an order imo) but this was a nice change of pace and definitely worth trying. Also the service here is incredible! My order always comes out really fast and I like getting work done here as there's a good amount of seating and they're open till later. Instagram: @hungrytamale

    Yuzu Mango Matcha Latte
    Veda B.

I really like the yuzu mango matcha latte from here, it's the only thing I order but it's just that good!!! There's little yuzu piece at the bottom and the mango flavor pairs perfectly with the matcha! Only reason it gets 4 stars is bc they add a nondairy creamer to the mango portion of the latte and they remake their matcha in a squeeze bottle. But hey at long as it doesn't affect the taste, that's all that matters!

Hot honey Avo and Jalapeño bagel with CC and Avo

Finally tried this place! The Spanish latte was good but nothing special. The breakfast food was great! Tried a jalapeño bagel with cream cheese and avocado. Very good! The bagels are very fresh! The hot honey avocado toast with bacon was also very good. I highly recommend the food!

I already had a coffee earlier on in the day so I opted to try the Thai tea. It wasn't too bad but it was just okay, nothing too memorable. I did get a sip of my husband's Vietnamese coffee & while it did taste strong, he said it was just okay. The store itself is pretty spacious and nicely decorated though & the guy that helped us was nice

Cute coffee shop down the street from the Newport Villas and Pelican Hill. Known for their Vietnamese coffee and Asian inspired drinks. If that's not your jam, you can get a regular latte or staples like Pumpkin Spice or Peppermint Mocha. My mom and I came here a couple of times during our week getaway to Newport. Love the vibe. Great location. It's a chain and can be found throughout SoCal. Over our week trip we tried the vanilla chai latte, VTM coffee, hot chocolate, and the hot honey oat latte. We tried the avocado toast and hot honey avocado toast too. The hot chocolate was great. Not too sweet. The Vietnamese coffee is strong! There is a regular and liter version in case you need to dial back the caffeine. My mom preferred the pumpkin spice latte over the hot honey latte. The avocado toast was fresh. The bread was thick and fluffy. My mom liked the spice with the hot honey avocado toast. Plus the bacon was a bonus. Love the neutral colors and the vibe with the ocean vibes. Can't go wrong!

The breakfast sausage bowl was very good and refreshing. Great quick bite to study with. Blk Dot has lots of seating indoor and outdoor.

One of my new favorite things is to try coffee shops - in fact I have a long list in various cities of shops that I want to try. Thankfully I was in the area and decided to give BLKdot a try because this place has easily become my new favorite go to coffee shop. I'm new to the coffee scene so I get things that are overly sugary to drown out the strong coffee taste as my palette hasn't gotten quite accustomed to it yet. I decided to try the iced pumpkin VTM and oh my gosh, it was single handedly the best coffee drink I ever had. My fiancé who literally detests coffee, tried a sip of it, and then proceeded to drink half of it because he thought it was equally delicious. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we went the next 2 days to get these drinks. We've also tried the Tiramisu one which was good, but nothing can compare to the pumpkin VTM although as I'm writing this, I realized their winter menu dropped and they have a peppermint VTM on the menu that I am beyond excited to try. We've been to various locations and they're always the same, friendly, fast, and delicious!

Each of their sandwiches comes with two halves and is filling and satisfying. They also use fresh, vibrant vegetables, and a store associate told me their bread is baked fresh every day! Service: The service here is half the reason I come! A lovely store associate will guide you when ordering, and they will bring the food right to you! Tough call... This is my favorite Mendocino Farms location…read moreout of at least five I have been to around Orange County. The problem with this sandwich chain is one and only: They have a huge issue with quality consistency. Ask their managers and they will tell you that the portions and sandwiche ingredients are strictly measured, but as a customer you know that's not the case. You go to some places and get these tiny sandwiches with two slices of bread and barely any ingredients in between. The Tustin location, located in Whole Foods has been the worst offender at this by far. Now this Campus Drive location has been creating the best, most generous, consistent sandwiches. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen every time still. It all depends on who you get as you cook on that day, crafting your sandwich. Some day sandwiches that get to the table are juicy and enjoyable, and sometimes, they come out to be disappointedly small, with minimum amount of ingredients. I had to complain to the manager a couple of times, but it doesn't help. Every time I come here, I pray to get the right chef who will make my sandwich well. Absolutely hate being at their mercy.

I ordered the Wagyu Tri Tip sandwich special and my order was nearly the last available that Friday. I also ordered their Paradise Iced Tea, which was good, but not spectacular at a paradise level in my opinion. The tri tip sandwich could have been executed in all the right ways, but the Serrano chilis were overdone and took over the sandwich. The balance was thrown off. The Serrano masked the overly chunky tri tip and my palate. If the Serrano chilis were diminished by a half or even two thirds, this would be a far better sandwich. The quality of the sesame seeded hero bus was great and I could taste it, but overshadowed by the Serranos.I could tell the cheese sauce was also well thought out and executed on its own, but again the chilis masked all that goodness. The same goes for the chunky sauteed onions, whose sweetness could have offered a nice counterpoint to the tri tip and chilis, but was overwhelmed by the chilis. This also applied to the tri tip, whose Wagyu flavor should have been at the center of this sandwich, but was pushed aside by the Serranos. You're onto a good thing with this Tri Tip and I was looking forward to enjoying it, given we don't commonly see the tri tip cut on the East Coast. When you run this special again, back off the Serranos by a considerable amount and chop the tri tip a bit more finely so one can eat it without having to eat oversized chunks. The quality is there, but the balance and execution were off. 3.4 stars

You can tell who is the manager - he's the guy sitting at a table with a "Stand" hat and tee-shirt feverishly entering data and looking at stuff on the computer. Why are managers always the one at the table with a laptop? If you go just down the block to Flower Child the manager is the one working at the counter handing our orders, or delivering orders to tables and interacting with the guests. Never saw him use a laptop but I'm certain he does. But the manager said goodbye to us as we left. A chicken sandwich with chicken and cole slaw was made with chicken that we very flat and hard, and had no real taste at all. I think we've been trained to get all our flavor from sauces - they had lots of sauces available and brought them to the table on request. A basket of sweat potato fried was undercooked and too soft. Not so good even with salt and lots of sauces. Of course we didn't eat the signature burger....that's what The Stand is known for...so we didn't really give them a chance for their home run. The place was about 25% full at about 3pm so ambiance was fairly quiet and service was quick. Not sure about a return visit. We're on the fence.

The ramen here appears to be literally buldak ramen and shin ramen. The "mild" flavor shows no chili pepper icons next to it but if you can't handle spice, I would avoid. The K-style tteokbokki and udon is pretty spicy (two chili pepper icons) compared to some others we've had locally. It comes with fish cake and wide glass noodles. My fish cakes were a little dried out because of being overdone (or over reheated I should say). However, the other bowls for the rest of my group seemed to be fine. The flavor otherwise was good. Portion size is acceptable for the price. The udon was bouncy and cooked to perfection (not overdone or soft). The bulgogi bowl is totally not spicy so it's a good option for someone who doesn't want something spicy. It's not mentioned on the menu but it's served with a generous helping of roasted seaweed flakes on top. The portion was okay for the price but honestly, I think I prefer CA Gogi a few storefronts over which is somewhat similar in price but at least offers a choice of banchan to make your bowl more interesting.
