I love this spot! I have been coming for years and it never disappoints. I cannot recommend the breakfast burrito enough, it is a staple. I like that you can also order at the window to go or sit in the sun if you have more time. The service is always quick and if you end up having to wait for a table there are plenty of cute shops around to browse through to pass the time.

This has become a regular-looking-forward to Sunday breakfast morning kind of spot. I love the food, the hot chai with one espresso shot, and the vegan cookie. Yummy! So far the staff has always been friendly and helpful. The restaurant is cute and very busy, but we've been lucky to find a place to sit. Parking can be challenging too so we always try to be there early.

I appreciated their honesty about cross contamination for food allergies, and opted to not eat or drink anything just to be safe. The rest of our party of 9 enjoyed their food and drinks (as pictured). We chose to eat here not knowing about the viral chai, but so glad we found out about it because it was really good! The lady taking our order was very kind, but once we were seated, nobody really came by which was okay! I really liked the ambiance of the restaurant because it felt like we were seated in a garden. We will be back!

Such a cute spot! Had a dirty chai tea and the avocado toast, my boyfriend had a breakfast burrito and it was huge! Definitely be prepared to wait if you go during peak hours. But overall such a great stop.

I visited Alta Coffee and enjoyed my experience. It is located on Lido Isle in Newport. Food: We ordered the carrot cake and iced Americano coffee. Both the coffee and carrot cake tasted good. Service: The employees that helped us is very friendly and helpful. Ambiance: The decor inside is nice but there isn't a lot of seating inside. Suggestion: The place closes at 4 so be sure to arrive early.

This is a very unique place located in the affluent heart of Newport Beach. It is an old fashioned, quaint, mom and pop style cafe that makes their own coffee. We dropped by just before they close at four in the afternoon to get some coffee and have the most amazing carrot cake. It reminds me of my days in Santa Barbara or parts of San Francisco. The inside is all wood. There is a patio, plants everywhere. This is a very unique location. The coffee that I had was very good. The carrot cake was homemade. We did not order any food this time. I recommend this place for the atmosphere and great coffee.

Very good customer service, workers are very kind and welcoming. Food is a good 6/10, nothing special or anything you should go out of your way for. Got the viral Vanilla Chai Latte with a shot and the Seasonal Pumpkin Chai Latte and too be honest it gets a good 7.5/10. Something to try but nothing I think you should go out of your way for. Overall pretty mid but I had a good experience!

Cutest little beach cafe tucked away on a small street. Lots of seating outside and a little walk up station where you can order to go. I got an iced honey latte and tuna melt sandwich! I wished the chips were a bit exciting than just plain tortilla chips but they do give an option to sub for cottage cheese and fruit. A pretty diverse menu with traditional breakfast options. Very friendly staff and great customer service!

First time here tried their chai latte. Service was good they're very quick. Ambiance is nice they have an outdoor and indoor seating area! If the outside ordering area is open you can order there if not you need to go inside to order. And for parking you gotta find street parking. Will def be back to try their breakfast or pastries

Known for their chai and I see why. I got the vanilla chai and it was delishhhh! I've never had a vanilla chai before and I honestly don't know why because now I need to order these all the time. There was plenty of street parking when we went and the restaurant itself seemed really cute so I'd love to go back and sit there but it was Perfect to take to beach nearby and walk the trail during sunset!

My first time here and everything went great. Cold brew coffee was very good and mini quiche was very nice as well. I only wish I had had time to stay for the whole breakfast as they looked very good. People working here are very friendly, helpful, and hard-working, and my items were prepared super quickly. Anybody familiar with parking could be a pain of a super confusing because it can be hard to tell which streets are one way and which are two way. Yes you may have to pay the city for parking if you drive here a small place to pay for a very pleasant visit here.

Absolutely adorable place. Been meaning to try Alta for years and luckily the busyness of this place has toned down a bit since I have waited! Obviously tried the famous vanilla/spiced dirty chai with oatmilk, and it was definitely good, very creamy and smooth, but felt it was missing something for me i'm not sure. The location is sooo cute with such a comfy patio. I loved how you can choose to do half-portions so I got to try the tuna melt and the smoked salmon bagel. Honestly wasn't anything crazy for me, but prices were great, location super convenient to take the stuff to the beach and overall great vibes. I can see why it's a hit!

I ordered the Surfer's Burrito with the enchilada sauce on the side. Unfortunately, the "enchilada" sauce didn't taste like enchilada sauce at all. It was more like marinara or canned tomato sauce. It really missed the mark and wasn't very flavorful. I also tried the iced chai because of all the hype, but it was so overly sweet that I couldn't taste any actual chai. Definitely disappointing. Service was slow, although I understand I came during the Saturday morning breakfast rush. The atmosphere didn't help either. If you sit inside, it's freezing. If you sit outside, it's also freezing, and there are no heaters. There's barely any natural sunlight, so it feels dark and not very welcoming. The outdoor seating consists of old metal patio chairs that look like they've been around since the 1970s, not exactly comfortable or inviting, and they didn't feel very clean. Overall, the experience was just... blah. The food lacked flavor, the drinks were blan, and the vibe didn't make up for it. I'm honestly not sure what all the hype is about.

It's a local hangout for sure; patrons working on lap tops, friends greeting each other and barista's acknowledging prior customers. Super cool spot situated on the main thoroughfare on Lido and only steps to a view of the marina. The Coffee itself was excellent; great flavor, well made and the service was equally as good. The outside patio reminded me of something you'd find in Europe; the walls are covered in vines and it's situated right on the the street where it was a great place to people watch etc.. I could see this place getting extremely busy of a weekend and parking would be very challenging so plan accordingly...we were there at 7.30am , perfect time. A must visit.

My wife and I did a simple iced latte and cappuccino both with whole milk. The coffee was great with no sour taste to them. My wife also wanted the croissant, so we ordered one. It was good, but nothing too special. It does get really busy here and for a good reason. It's in a great location in the Lido Marina Village. There was plenty of seating inside and outside. I did get confused with the restrooms but there was one across the street (public restroom). Just to note, I don't think there was a policy for dogs since many people with dogs were coming in and out that were for sure not service animals. I didn't mind since I love dogs, but can be an issue for those with sensitivities. The baristas were all very nice, no issue with customer service. I was basically the only asian dude there the whole time, but there was no issue. Everyone was nice :)

Another day, another coffee shop…read more Heard great things about MoonGoat so was excited to try today. Saw valet parking and got nervous but the guy just told me where to park. Super easy. When you enter, the location is huge! Tons of tables and seating. Nice! People are working, hanging out, and enjoying their food and drinks. I ordered a churro latte half sweet and a deluxe avocado toast. The latte was delicious. Sweetness level was just right for me. I don't like super sweet drinks. The avocado toast was also great. There was so much flavor from the egg and bacon and seasonings. It was a little hard to eat out of the to go container, but I made it work. It could easily be shared depending how hungry you are. I love that I didn't feel rushed here. It seems they expect people to come and hang out for awhile. Can't wait to return! I'm eyeing the biscuit and a matcha next time.

Inside is a café inspired by natural accents with an industrial flair giving a rustic character with modern style. The vibe inside is chill with plenty of seating for groups or singles. They also have an outdoor area with covered seating surrounded by plants. The menu delivers just as much appeal as the setting. They have an expansive list of coffee, tea, and lattes with several modifiers to choose from. To accompany your drink the menu provides options of sandwiches, bagels, and a variety of pastries. I had the smoked salmon bagel, featuring delicate slices of salmon layered over cream cheese spread, topped with capers and fresh chives. This is my go to for coffee houses that offer it. The bagel exceeded my expectations and I believe the chive's subtle flavor complemented the smoked salmon really well. For drinks we tried the chai and hot chocolate. The iced chai latte was smooth and not too sweet with a dusting of cinnamon on top, but I would rate it average in taste. The hot chocolate was deliciously velvety and detailed beautifully. I would rate it a five out of five! The difference at this coffee shop is that you can choose from a range of seating arrangements and have an opportunity to support the business by picking up clothing, a bag of coffee or other merchandise. The con for this coffee shop is that the beverages are somewhat undersized relative to the price point. In addition, the customer service experience fell short. We were greeted upon entering, but it was unclear where customers should retrieve their order or whether orders numbers were called out. With that said, those looking for a quiet morning coffee or a cozy place to catch up with friends, this spot can accommodate.
