I stopped a Bloom at late afternoon, plenty of students in the new room addition, with their projects & homework. I sat in the charming main room as I remember finding Bloom 4 years ago. Staff is pleasant & helpful in describing their pretty desserts in refrigerated glass display case. You had me at mango, one of my favorite fruit flavors! This was sweet & delicious. A simple hot black coffee is the contrast I prefer to the sweetness. As a romantic couple sat next to me, a small gecko ran along the glass. Staff helped me guide the fellow outside onto the porch. This coffee shop is definitely one of my favorites in the garland area! The service is always great , the ambience is great for working or just sitting and enjoying your coffee. My go to is the iced vanilla latte and my husband likes the iced white chocolate biscoff latte both are delicious! Their pastries are also good particularly their chocolate croissant. DRINKS Strawberry Matcha - Pretty strong on the strawberry side but the matcha tastes good. It's evenly whisked in and there are no clumps. Not too sweet. ALSO, their straws are heart shaped which I think is so cute! VIBES Such a cute place. Very bright with the window lighting. There's also cute decorations from the cherry blossom tree in the corner to the mirrors, and flower decoration. Great place to study. The bad-Food was all pre-prepared, nothing homemade, not a good selection and definitely not fresh. The good is the coffee drinks were well made and delicious. Quite interesting and eclectic patrons, mostly female college students from I assume UTD. That being said the staff was very friendly and courteous. I've been here twice to get some work done. They place some quiet tunes that will not distract you from whatever you are trying to do (talk/getting stuff done). Delicious coffee with a brightly lit shop! Plenty of tables to sit at and wifi works well. My only complaint is that it can be quite bright inside so my computer screen has a glare. There aren't outlets at every time but for a Friday morning, it was easy to find a spot to work at. I got the white mocha crunch and it is so yummy! First off, I wish employees would.. at least smile and acknowledge your presence. I came in not knowing what to expect, and was sorly didisappointed. I was hoping for some type of breakfast sandwich-they don't make one. I really don't want some sweet, sugary pastry in the morning. They have lots of expensive toast options, but I opted for a chicken salad sandwich on a croissant roll. The filling was WAY overdressed and flavorless. The croissant roll was delicious and clearly from Costco. The iced coffee was weak and watered-down. Worst of all...the joint was dirty. The strawberry matcha latte tasted like strawberry milk, and I couldn't really taste the matcha. The matcha latte with vanilla syrup tasted like grass. The avocado toast had feta cheese, red crushed peppers, and mashed avocados topped with some greens. You can't really go wrong with avocado toast! I believe the owner took my order - there wasn't a problem with that. But the girl who was working next to him who made my drink was not friendly at all. I told her something out of courtesy and she gave a really indifferent and rude look and just said ok ... and walked away. The place is super quiet and had an odd smell. I got a strawberry matcha which might look cute but they didn't have the cup with their logo on it and it didn't taste like other strawberry matchas that I love. Overall 9.5/10 I will return! Very cosy cafe with friendly staff. Originally came for the white chocolate raspberry and it was DEFINITELY worth it, 10/10. I had the campfire latte from their winter menu, 7.6/10. I did like the special cup they had, and the heart straws. Our toasts were both delicious 8/10. Excellent place to chill while you sip. This place is great! It's spacious with lots of seating and outlets, which was nice for me as I was working and needed to plug in my laptop. The owner also brought my avocado toast I ordered to my table and picked up the dishes once I was done, which was a nice touch of hospitality. Bloom is a cute little coffee shop near my house that I decided to check out. When you enter the shop, you feel a very relaxed vibe decked out with nice decor and plenty of seating. The selection is really good with plenty of creative signature and seasonal drinks. My one recommendation would be for them to add at least one or two in-house syrups to their menu. Lastly, but certainly not least was the great service we received from the staff. I enjoyed my experience at Bloom and would recommend it to others! I tried the pistachio knafeh chocolate and it was unreal-- the sweetness of the white chocolate and crunchiness of the knafeh were perfect and I thought it was worth the experience. Definitely the highlight of my visit. I also got the strawberry matcha, which was also good -- the matcha was definitely high quality and had the bitterness that really good matcha has, but I think I would have liked more of the strawberry milk to balance it out. Still delicious though. The service was nice, and the ambiance of the cafe was solid -- some people were socializing while others were studying. It wasn't too loud. Bloom Cafe was packed on a Saturday morning! The space is quite restful with lots of clean white, silver tile and a large floral mural. I could have done with another comfy couch or two, but luckily was able to snag a spot at a table. When the weather is nicer, I'm sure regulars will avail themselves of sidewalk cafe tables as well. I got a flat white (of course!) and it was smooth and delicious. There's a cooler full of kid-friendly options including apple juices and milks as well as pastries such as cheese or fruit danishes and cake pops. I also tried their avocado toast and it was extraordinary. It comes on a thick slice of toast that's crusty on the outside and thick and chewy in the center. Some red pepper flakes and a smattering of feta cheese made the avo toast really stand out. Parking is easy. The development is new and feels like a bit of a concrete island next to the freeway, which definitely lends a very suburban feel. There's one large, clean, well-appointed gender-neutral bathroom equipped with a baby changing table. This is a nice addition to the North Garland coffee scene. read more

Exactly what this part of town needed! I found this beautiful cafè with Google and bumped into a Dallas Culture Map article that described the owner Saria's vision. She nailed it! We greatly lack sit in, relaxing cafes. Most everything we have in northern suburbs are drive thru coffee joints or places that aren't hang out or meeting-up-with-a-friend type spots. Décor was gorgeous with a faux cherry blossom tree, soft classical music, real fresh cut roses on every table, beautiful velvet couch and Parisienne style marble table tops with wooden chairs (great lumbar support). If you're planning to work from there, fast internet, outlets, moderate to quiet noise level, and good chairs as mentioned above. Now slightly critical portion here. I ordered the Judy Moody latte which was listed as being a toffee flavored drink. I normally am not a sweeter coffee person so it likely is my fault for ordering something out of my norm of a non sweet latte. The latte tasted a bit more syrupy or caramel than a buttery toffee. Very minor issue but thought I'd state that. The star docking was actually that my cheese Danish was dry/a bit stale even after the barista had heated it. I'm thinking their supplier/partner bakery perhaps gave them an older batch of goods. I wanted to close out the review by saying the customer service was unparalleled. The barista built rapport with everyone that entered, checked on me, offered me water, really went out of his way to make me feel welcomed. This makes Bloom a five star establishment alone. I've been a regular here at Bloom since they first opened. The drinks are seriously so good and their pastries are up there as well. But recently the drinks are so inconsistent one day it's the best coffee/matcha I've ever had and the next day it tastes nothing like yesterday's. Bloom Café is owned by a well-known DFW foodie Instagrammer (@Dallasfoodwanderer) and her family. I love supporting family and POC owned businesses, so I really wanted to visit this place! For coffee shops, I consider both the quality of the coffee and the atmosphere. As expected, Bloom Café absolutely nailed down the aesthetics. There is plenty of seating from the marble tables, arm chairs, a velvet couch, and outdoor tables. There are several outlets around the shop too. The chairs are comfortable and the Wi-Fi is stable, making Bloom Café a great place to study/work as well. As for the coffee, I ordered the Lotus Biscoff Latte. I havent seen a biscoff flavored drink before, so I was really intrigued to try it. It was a solid cup of coffee, and the prices were fair. I wish it was sweeter though, but that was on me for not requesting syrup in my order (65¢ extra). I also tried the danish, which I wasn't a big fan of. I was expecting something more flaky, but it more dense and cake-like. Overall, I still see myself coming here again. Updated review; I used to be a regular but I have stopped going as the drinks are no longer as strong since they started hiring baristas. They taste watered dow /too much milk. I'm not sure if it's a lack of training or company recipe changes. The prices have also increased and I cannot justify that with the quality of the drinks. read more
