I am absolutely shocked to see all the negative reviews of this place -- as a local who has been in many times and has been quite happy with everything I've purchased from Blooming Blossoms, I highly urge you to check them out! In addition to creating beautiful custom bouquets according to anyone's specifications (or you can just let them do their thing, which is always impressive and fun to see the outcome!), they have MARVELOUS potted house plants here. Everything from sweet and petit succulents in gorgeous, minimalist urns to foll-on citrus trees, you can always find something to suit your fancy. In fact, I just purchased a gorgeous, healthy orange plant for my mother as a house warming gift, and I know she will love it -- it's fragrant, healthy and robust. I'd also like to make a comment about the service -- everyone I have ever come into contact with here has been nothing by sweet, gracious and helpful. They've always made me feel welcome to browse at my leisure, comfortable asking questions and very capable of helping me select something perfect for whatever occasion I am trying to commemorate. Only been here once but the other reviews gushing about this place is enough for me to write this review. Stopped in with my brother so he could pick up a bouquet for his girl. He got a gorgeous arrangement with roses for $40 - awesome deal. The woman who helped us was pleasant, efficient, and asked helpful questions about his budget and purpose of the flowers to best serve my brother's needs. It's a beautiful space with potted plants and flowers, well decorated, with lots of natural sunlight. I will definitely be back the next time I need some flowers. read more

It might be this florist treats deliveries differently than in person orders. I have received two bouquets from out-of-state friends. They've been decidedly skimpy and not long lived. The second bouquet was so shockingly small that I called the florist (who does seem nice) to ascertain the cost-- between $75-85! For 12 extremely small ( almost tea rose size) roses and sparse greens. Flowers were delivered on December 12, four roses are dead as of this morning. Also, the flowers do not come in a box with plastic wrap and a lovely bow. The vase is handed unwrapped to whoever answers the door. read more

Upon the first consultation I was certain I made the right choice for a wedding florist. There is something about planning a wedding that made me less like an adult and thay I didnt know what I was doing. My husband and I were eased by the owner's attitude. She was upfront about not charging extra just because our event was a wedding and seemed to really understand what we were looking for on our wedding day. Unfortunately, a week before the wedding there was an unexpected death in our family and I got overwhelmed and was struggling to finish all of the wedding preparations. Once again we were put at ease by our florist that everything would work out. All of our arrangements and special requests were met with great accuracy and timing. They were also so beautiful for what our budget was. To save money we went with the free glass containers that they offer and they worked wonderfully. A year has passed since the wedding and I decided to get back in touch to order an arrangement for a memorial service for the person we lost last year. The day of the service, I picked it up and had a great conversation with the owner about life and death and how they put things into perspective. After the chat, I was ready to pay for the beautiful tiger lilies and instead she said the arrangement was on them. I felt so much appreciation for the kindness on a tough day. That sort of gesture is the kind that will keep me going back there for all of my floral needs. read more

Racquel offered to create a custom arrangement and asked me what I wanted to spend. For $40, she created a beautiful arrangement of roses plus three other complementary flowers in about 15 minutes. The staff have been wonderful and Ive been really impressed with their arrangements and their details. I went to a wedding that they had done the arrangements for, and it was stunning, classic and yet modern, and stunning! I saw some of the negative reviews below and they seem very extreme and a little confusing to me given my experience. Not sure what that is about, but I totally recommend these people! PROBLEMS- READ FOR SPECIFICS Warning Note: This florist is not allowed in the Biltmore Hotel, so if you choose them, you will only have someone drop off your flowers, not pick them up if you need to go anywhere else if your reception is elsewhere. CONSULTATION WAS FINE: I consulted with the owner about 9 months in advance of my wedding, in person (I live in Michigan, so I made an appointment to be in Rhode Island to consult with her). Although the initial consultation went amazingly well and she was very nice, that was the end of it. PAYMENT ISSUE: We paid our deposit by credit card, but the balance she did not allow us to pay with by credit card even though that was our initial form of payment. She mentioned credit card fees as a deterent, which is not my problem. When you are in business, you take the form of payment the customer is willing to pay with. Luckily, we had the cash, so we sent a check. Unfortunately if another couple was not as liquid, and did not have the cash to pay for their flowers, what would they do? They would be stuck or have to argue with her to pay with a credit card. DELIVERY ISSUES: I did inform her that my wedding was at the Biltmore's Garden Room and that my reception was at Cafe Nuovo. She agreed that I would pay a fee for the delivery/transport from the Biltmore to Cafe Nuovo, which we had no problem with at all. I later learned that she is banned from the Biltmore Hotel, where we had our wedding, and she did not tell me anything of the kind when I sat down and had my initial consultation with her. She could have stated at that time something like "we don't service the Biltmore Hotel" and left it at that. Instead, here is what happened. A floral delivery person dropped off my flowers, my bouquet was delivered soaking wet in a vase so that we had to take it out and allow it to dry so I could carry it. Then when my ceremony was over, no one arrived to pick up the flowers to take them to Cafe Nuovo, so we were forced to place them in the limo with us. Insane!!! DESIGN: She had a photo of what I wanted, and although she DID use the flowers we discussed, but the asymmetrical design was poorly executed, making it look like a lopsided bouquet that was not done correctly instead of the stunning piece I had ordered that should have been heavily floral on one side with a good amount of cascade to form the asymmetry just like the photo. At any rate, the flowers I picked were beautiful, so I paid attention to that part. The two large arrangements that we paid for were OK, but again, I gave her an EXACT photo of what I wanted and they were not designed accordingly. Again, although they were nice, they were not what I expected to see and they were not as large as they should have been. I had originally paid anticipating Green Goddess Callas as part of the expense. I pulled them out of the order to allow her to make arrangements large enough like the photo. Well, she skimped on us and made medium sized arrangements, so she made money on what I had originally paid for as having Callas in them. The arrangements sans the Callas should have been larger, as large as the photo provided. She also designed them as sprays instead of urn-worthy arrangements that could be seen from all sides filled out. Sprays can be cheaped up because you only see them from the front. OTHER CHOICE: In the end, I highly recommend Donna at Kikus Flowers in Cranston to take care of your wedding. She can duplicate ANY photo and will work with you on anything. Only see Donna, as she helped me out with some other things for other events and she can do your wedding. I should have gone with her and I would have been 100% happy. In the end, I would say that Blooming Blossoms delivered 60% of what they said they could/would. Not taking the arrangements from the Biltmore was unacceptable and not informing me that there were conflicts between the two businesses was unacceptable as well. read more

Avoid for a wedding or formal party! I ordered flowers for a wedding and specified blue, purple and white. I also asked for one big formal centerpiece, plus a ton of loose flowers so I could create smaller MATCHING bouquets throughout the facility. When I picked up the flowers on the day of the wedding, the centerpiece was nice but it was only very tall flowers that could not work as smaller matching bouquets. Instead the florist provided a (fairly skimpy) bundle of completely different flowers, including a lot of yellow roses. Not only had I not requested yellow at all, everyone who loves flowers knows that yellow roses symbolize platonic friendship - not anything romantic. Yellow roses have no place at a wedding. The florist did not have much in her cooler that I could substitute. In the end I wound up with white roses and yellow daffodils. The daffs were just budded - none of them had full petals out yet. Not great for an event that day, but better than platonic roses. I will never order flowers from this place again - which sucks because I live nearby and would like to use them. read more

Finally got around to writing up this review from a few weeks back, but I would definitely recommend Blooming Blossoms for anyone looking to place a flower delivery while out-of-town. My girlfriend was starting rehearsals for her new show, but I was back on the west coast and needed a good way to have flowers delivered. There's a $10 delivery charge here, but the flower arrangement was great and really tasteful for the price, and the woman I worked with was very patient in getting everything done correctly (I had to call a few different times because of logistics issues on my end). My girlfriend ended up not being home for the delivery, and it was *really* cold out, so the deliverywoman offered to bag up the flowers even more and try to insulate them from the cold, and she did a great job (the company unfortunately needed to continue with its other deliveries, which is pretty understandable). The flowers were still alive when my girlfriend came home to them, and they lasted quite a bit longer afterwards. Overall very satisfied, and would definitely use them again. read more

Needed to send an anniversary arrangement to friends from out of state. After reading reviews, thought I would give Blooming Blossoms a chance. Huge mistake. Arrangement they created was scanty, underwhelming and not reflective of the price charged. And when I called to discuss, the owner was rude, combative and wholly unprofessional. I have sent countless floral arrangements over the years and never encountered more abhorrent customer service. Might've been an anomaly, but the flowers I just bought here (10 tulips) are really depressing. After a mere five minute ride home by car, they flopped over; their stems were weak/flimsy and leaves mashed. I struggled for like 15 minutes to try to arrange the bouquet (in three different vases!) so that it wouldn't look so bad/embarrassing (they were a gift for family). If you are detail oriented and specific...for a wedding, SEEK ANOTHER FLORIST! Blooming Blossoms is not worth your time, or money. I have many of the same complaints Andrea the reviewer below experienced. Pam was very nice upon consultation and says she will work within your budget. I too was an out-of-state bride and went down to her shop 3 or 4 times to make sure she was clear. But the week before the wedding I was still explaining the same things over and over which made me quite nervous for what would show up on my wedding. And I had a right to be... I had a very specific vision, which really should have made her job a piece of cake. I gave her photos, color swatches, I chose abundant flowers for the time of year and in shades of pink...easy. Well, I saw my flowers on my wedding day and I felt she went 'rogue' with my vision. Here are the biggest problems: 1. She forgot to bring extra flowers. Even though she was told several times, she brought none, and even didn't bring any for my cake. I had a bare cake, and I had to ask someone to go and get grocery store flowers to put on it the morning of my wedding. 2. Every arrangement was 1/2 the size I thought it was going to be. I wanted a lush feeling...it was sparse to say the least. 3. The colors were wrong. I told her not to mix colors in my centerpieces...they were mixed. And she took it upon herself to use a single rose instead of a peony in some of the holders. Fine, except for the fact I paid $17 for one rose, not even a garden rose, just an ordinary rose. Other arrangements were supposed to be gradient shades of pink ranging from dark to light....there were no dark pink flowers! In addition I started to get the feeling I got leftover flowers from someone else's wedding, the colors were just so off and they didn't look very healthy. 4. The corsages were generic and cheap looking. I was embarrassed and to give them to my mom, mom-in-law and grandma. They are special ladies and deserved better. 5. The most frustrating part is I never saw her that day, she set up and she took off. She never called me to apologize and let me know what was happening. She said to the caterer she had to leave and set up her next wedding. She didn't care about my flowers and it REALLY showed in all of the florals that came that day. Not a lot of care, thought, creativity or effort was put into anything. I expressed how upset I was after the wedding.....she never even responded. I spent thousands with with B. Blossoms....and I wonder where my money went? NOTE: Be wary- that most of the wedding websites are monitored and the vendor can write in if they are un-happy with a review that is written. I, too, had a horrible experience with this florist...and this was just in the consultation stage! I'm a bride from CT and our wedding is in Newport...about 2 hours away. A month ahead of time I set up appointments with three florists in one day so I could spend the day in Rhode Island meeting with florists and getting ideas and quotes, Blooming Blossoms being one of them. The drive from CT to RI is about 2 hours. So the day of the meetings my mom, mother and law and I left around 7 am. We drove the two hours to Newport for our first appointment, then drove an extra half hour or so to Providence for our appointment with Pam. We got there about five minutes early and she wasn't in yet...no big deal...we were early. Then, the other woman who works there, I never got her name, called her and then said to me...she says she's sorry but she's not going to make it!" What! Really? I just drove two and a half hours for a meeting that I made an appointment for one month ago and she can't be bothered to show up! I can see her clients really mean a lot to her. Well we should have just left but the other employee said she could get our information about the wedding and what we're looking for so Pam could make up a quote for us. What a waste of time. At this point I didn't really know 100% what I was going to want and as such I was looking for suggestions and guidance. This woman would suggest a flower and if I didn't know what it looked like...she didn't even have any in the store to show me or a picture in a book and said she didn't know how to use the computer to look it up and show me. Well that was a week and a half ago and I still have not received a quote from her. Better yet, I never got an email, call or anything apologizing for missing my meeting. Don't go here, this woman is obviously doing so well she doesn't need your business and won't respect your time our needs. read more

My sister recommended this florist because she has used them many times. I wish I had read the previous review regarding tulips and used my own florist. I ordered a bouquet of 22 tulips with greens to be delivered to my sister's house for a special birthday. Not only was it expensive but the arrangement was embarrassing. Some of the tulips were so minuscule. Disappointing. I will say owner was very nice. Quality however was sub-par. Next time I'll make my own from Whole Foods. Let me start by saying I'm extremely picky and hard to please lol. I walked into my venue Saturday and had to immediately leave the dining room because my table settings immediately moved me to tears. My guests later on were commenting on how they were going to fight each other for the table centerpieces. They are also seasoned wedding vets and have seen a lot of weddings throughout the years and they have never seen anything like what Pam and the team put together. Pam did an amazing job with our November wedding florals. We had a smaller budget and she was able to work with us so easily. I never felt pressured to spend more. I showed her my inspiration on Pinterest and what she came up with was absolutely stunning. If I need florals for any event in the future, I will not shop anywhere else. Sadly disappointed when I went to pick up two bouquets for my sons prom dates. I've had great service before. When I called to order, I requested two $40 bouquets. Walked in and found two very small bouquets. I was told this was the 'in' thing right now. One of the bouquets had a dying pink rose in the center. During prom pics, my sons had the smallest and saddest bouquets for their dates. I was a loyal customer but I will not purchase here again. They charged me $30 for each but I actually ordered $40 ones. I did not mind paying which was what I ordered but it looks like they ran out of flowers that day. I've learned my lesson. I am not one to review but I feel obligated to warn others. Blooming Blossoms treated our wedding as an after thought. My husband and I provided specific photographs and additional comments to make certain they knew what we wanted. They ignored nearly everything and did what they wanted instead. The bouquets were wrong and upon delivery the individual was extremely rude to my mother. They shoved bundles of babies breath in a few jars for our centerpieces and ignored what we asked for. When our venue contacted them to ask them to fix it, the venue was told that they had no flowers. Our event manager went to Stop & Shop and bought the right flowers. They fixed our centerpieces and made it what we wanted. How is it that an event manager could do this but not the florist? They bought our arch the night before and it was nothing like we wanted because they forgot they promised to provide an arch and contacted us two days before our wedding to say they didn't know. They forgot the flowers for our cake. I could go on. Bottom line, I have never been so disgusted by a business in my life. Shame on them read more
