Dear Yelp, I was in the area and decided to stop in for lunch on a weekday. Was delivered my menus by the hostess. No lunch menu? I asked and was told "Oh yes, we can do that for you." The lunch menu should have been given automatically. It was 11:45am on a Thursday. The table next to me also had to ask for the lunch specials menu. Mongolian beef was delicious over rice. The salad was delicious. The waitress/bartender was excellent. I had a lychee lemonade? It was delicious. Not overly sweet but I still don't want to think about how many grams of sugar were probably in it. This PF Chang's is not my closest one, but it was an overall very good dining experience. Meh. Long ago, I had purchased a gift card and the opportunity presented itself to use it. In fairness, we've always enjoyed P.F. Chang's and decided to stop by after a day of water park fun. It was dinner time, mid week in August. There were maybe six other tables which had patrons. We were greeted and seated right away. Our waitress was mostly MIA the remainder of the evening. I cannot say what kept her attention, but it wasn't us nor the other patrons. Multiple times, our water glasses were empty, she didn't check on us at all without being flagged down. Again, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. Beyond the service aspect, I'd give the cocktails 5 stars, the hot food 4.5 stars and the sushi was 2.5 stars at best. I think stop&shop sushi is likely better. Sriracha sauce on a roll is just a no for me, lazy and lacks imagination. Unfortunately, all of the nostalgia we had for this place is now gone. My wife and I finally stopped in for a meal at PF Chang's. Last time we ate at a PF Chang's was in Minnesota back in 1998 and the location at the Rockaway Mall was a much different experience. We stopped in here a little early for dinner, right around 5pm, and the mall and the restaurant were pretty empty. It was hard to get a feel for how the restaurant might feel when full, but the lights were low (not dark) and it seemed like it could get loud when packed. We were seated right away by a very friendly hostess and the bartender/waitress was over pretty quickly. She came over and made a couple excellent recommendations for drinks and we put in an order for pork dumplings. She came back over and we then placed our entree orders. I had the Mongolian Trio and my wife ordered the Orange chicken. The pork dumplings were great. Our drinks were great. The entrees were a mix. My wife loved her orange chicken - it was tender and had lots of flavor. My meal - fried chicken, shrimp, and beef was cooked a bit too long which made it a bit tough and the sauce was pretty salty. Because of previous meals years ago and because my wife's meal was very good, I'm gonna go with this was just a bad day with my meal and leave it at that. Another one bites the dust. Prices are way up and quality is down. I understand that. It's 2026, that's the norm. Service is the one thing you can do something about. There were 6 people in the entire restaurant and my server should have been all over me. He wasn't. I finished my meal with an empty glass in front on me. Apparently 1 refill on iced tea is the limit. I was pretty surprised when my dumplings came out room temperature. I didn't say anything because my server did not want to be working on a Sunday night. Anyway, CEO's are wondering why business is down, way down. We can deal with the prices and even the quality but when you couple that with poor service, well that's where Mr. CEO should start to look for downward profits. It's their bonus at stake. But my black pepper chicken was a highlight entree. Usually served breaded, this chicken had crunch and crisp seemingly directly on top of the protein, with a good ratio of crisp in each bite. We waited like 3-4 minutes to be seated, which wouldn't be worth mentioning except that there was no line. And the bench-style seats are ridiculous: not supportive and too low relative to the table. While everything was cooked well and had good flavor, I'll probably just stick to the beef next time--three proteins was a bit much. My friend got the honey chicken, and I stole a bite--solid choice if you like a sweeter dish. Ambience was nice, very classic chain restaurant vibes but well-maintained. I usually enjoy simple, reliable chain restaurants, since the food should taste the same wherever you go. But P.F. Chang's in Rockaway has been hit or miss for me. More often than not, I've had to ask them to reheat my food because it came out cold, or something in my order just wasn't right. Honestly, when you order straight off the menu, why isn't it correct? Service is a bit better if you sit at the bar, but otherwise, both the food and service are meh at best. I often feel forced to go since my wife loves their wonton soup and is always hopeful the quality will improve -- but so far, it hasn't lived up to expectations. I was eager to try food here after my mom raved about their major tofu dish. We ordered food for takeout. I called last night to order by phone and I was out on hold for almost 10 minutes before someone took my order. The staff member told me it would take 15 minutes for my order to be ready. It wasn't ready at the time they said it would be. Secondly, the food was a bit oily. We ordered mapo tofu with white rice, Kung Pao chicken with white rice, and teriyaki chicken with brown rice and another serving of brown rice. While the teriyaki chicken dish was flavorful, the brown rice was al dente. I don't like to eat my rice al dente, don't need the stomach issues. The chicken in the Kung Pao chicken dish was burnt. We had to scrap of the burnt bits to eat it. And the mapo tofu was decent. I was really disappointed in their dishes and service. They need to do better. read more

Haven't been to PF Chang's in years. It was pretty good for a chain in the mall! Our waitress was awesome and answered our questions. When we first walked in they asked if we wanted to participate in their daily specials for apps and drinks, in order to do so you need to sit at the bar or the patio area. The "patio" area is located outside the restaurant in the mall area. It can be very noisy out there. I enjoyed the food more than I thought I would and what I remembered it to be. read more

Had a delightful lunch at P.F. Chang's recently with two of my sisters. We all enjoyed our meals which included Sesame Chicken Bowl with Lo Mein, Sweet & Sour Shrimp ( the shrimp was subbed in from chicken), and a Honey Chicken Bowl with fried rice. I also had an egg roll that was just okay. One of my sisters got the Peach Boba Breeze which she enjoyed. We shared a (generous) piece of Chocolate Peanut Butter cake. The service we received from Tara was over the top! Bathrooms are clean. The restaurant is located in the mall, so plenty of parking. Would not hesitate to return. read more

This has to be the slowest kitchen in the chain. Arrived 6:15 pm, took two seats at the bar, ordered two drinks and gave the bartender the order for appetizers and the main meal. Twenty five minutes passed no food. I counted 9 people in the entire place.ten minutes passed and I asked for the check, paid it and left. As a frequent flyer, I have to say, the quality of food matches the ambiance and service. I always sit at the bar. It is easier and more efficient for quality over quantity. I enjoy their 5$ happy hour zen margarita. It's worth more than its price. The food is always delicious. For a chain restaurant, I recommend fully! read more

I try and stop at P.F. Chang's when I'm in the Rockway mall It's usually pretty good. The only thing I don't like is the specialty cocktails are all premade they're all in containers. They shouldn't do that. They should make them by order. They come out extremely sweet and you don't know if they're using the proper vodka in them. read more

We have been a fan of PF Chang's for many years. We have eaten at more than a few and the food has always been yummy. My wife told me that there was, finally, a local outpost in our area. We tried take out and the service was spot on. The over the phone estimate of 30 minutes hit the time for pickup to the minute. Despite the early days of the restaurant, the food quality and taste was as good as any of the other Chang's we have tried. While this chain has been around for years and has many locations throughout the country, this was my first time dining at one of these restaurants. Since we had recommendations on a few of the dishes, we ordered different entrees and sampled each. We started off with a delicious spare rib appetizer, then shared entrées of Crispy Honey Chicken, Mongolian Beef, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. We absolutely loved all three, I'd say my favorite was the honey chicken. There's a nice bar at the front of the restaurant. I enjoyed a cold Kirin Ichiban Lager. Desserts look delicious, especially the Great Wall of Chocolate, but we'll wait for next time for that. Our server was great, but the kitchen seemed to have a tough time keeping up with orders. It's on the lower level right next to 'Cheesecake Factory.' The service is fine, no complaints, but the food is pretty basic. I guess you get what you get from a chain restaurant. We always order the Kung Pao Dragon Roll which comes with a special presentation which will amaze everyone! If money is an issue I suggest going to the mall food court. This is upper crust elite dining chain restaurant style. Another favorite of mine is the Mongolian Beef, Hot & Sour Soup, Duck Egg Rolls (Dim Sum menu), and Crab Stuffed Fried Wontons. Has anyone ever eaten in P.F. Chang's more than once? Really? We rolled the dice, we were starving, and we crapped out. We really love Chinese, like real regional Chinese food, even Chinese - American food, but, this is neither of those. It's like Friday's and Panda China conceived a baby while watching Food Network reruns from the 2010s, and then a corporate Chef who apparently doesn't really like people decided "Damn, needs more salt!" Mediocre, inattentive service. I'll give the waitress credit for a pleasant demeanor for the rare times she graced our table with her presence. It was a sad and overpriced experience, from the sloppy plating to the terrible oversalted food. I could go into great detail picking apart each dish, I'm just not writing War & Peace. Take my advice, maybe you're Chain Restaurant curious, maybe you're intrigued by the giant golden Foo Dogs, maybe you're Great Aunt from The Villages swears by it, just don't do it, you'll leave angry and dissatisfied. Patronize your local Mom & Pop Chinese place instead - by local and leave happy. If worse comes to worst and you're stuck in a mall, go to Panda China in the food court, still a better alternative than Chang's. Not super impressed by my first P.F Changs experience ever but here's what you need to know: 1. Atmosphere 5/5 - Well maintained, clean and a good vibe 2. Food 4/5 - Dumplings were good, well sauced and the zucchini fries were flavored well paired with a sauce but way too greasy/fatty for my liking. 3. Staff 4/5 - Could have been more attentive. Had to call over the waitress although it was quite empty. 4. Drinks 3.5/5 - PRICY! The drinks are very expensive. Midnight Ritual is $13.5 but I guess it is more about the experience of the rock candy and lemon changing the color of the drink. This drink I thought was tasty and felt more worth the money. Recommended to me by staff was Rising Dragon priced at $15. This drink I didn't enjoy as much and wouldn't order again. 5. Overall 16.5/20 - Came here for apps and drinks but spent over $100 and wasn't full. I could only imagine the cost of drinks and dinner for 2 here. Maybe save it for a "night out" rather than a quick bite. There are plenty of other places that offer Happy Hour (yes I went during the wee with no drink specials around 4:40pm) in the area to have a more affordable experience. read more

Sooo happy that there is a PF Chang's nearby now!! The restaraunt has great vegetarian options...the todu lettuce rap and the Mapo Tofuwith fresh rice are really great ! We loved the pan fried dumplings but $13.00 is a very steep price when all other places including Hunan Taste charge $7-$8. My chicken pad thai was fabulous. When I arrived I was told 30-50 minute wait for table. Even though 1/2 the restaurant was empty. When I used to be a server. If there was an empty seat anywhere in the restaurant. There was no wait. Because we had an empty seat. Grabbed a seat at the bar. After few minutes, the bartender came over to take our order. When the food arrived. The food was over sauced. Likely to hide the fact that it was small quantity and low quality. Bartender/server only once came to check on us.. They paid so little attention to us it is hard to write more. Now with the restaurant 90% empty. I see people waiting 30 minutes for tables.. Looking at the poorly stocked liquor bar. It is clear the place will not be here for long.
