My review is for delivery - really enjoy the quality of everything over the past several orders. I haven't tried going actually to the restaurant, but delivery standouts continue to be the Pane di Casa, any salad, the meatballs (!!!!!!), and the pasta dishes. I haven't had pizza from here (yet!) but I'm loving everything. My only small concern is delivery of tiramisu is in a cup. Awesome Italian place! Their hospitality, ambience, and food menu is somewhat different and upscale! Chicken corpese was on point and I would definitely order the same thing again! My wife ordered prawn linguini and she loved it. We also ordered grilled octopus and wine from Tuscany! It's a bit pricey but definitely worth it for special occasion! A gem of a restaurant, that I stumbled on while getting coffee across the street. I am from out of town, but relocating here for my job. On a beautiful sunny late afternoon, the patio was lovely. I decided that something light was in order, so enjoyed their homemade bread with goat cheese, garlic and balsamic along with a glass of wine and chased it with a delicious trio of gelato, pistachio, hazelnut and lemon - just the right size to top off my meal. I enjoyed it so much I came back 2 days later, again sitting on the patio on a sunny early evening. Melissa, who was extremely gracious on my first visit, remembered me and was so welcoming. This time I had pesto with chicken, a lovely dish as well. Melissa also remembered how much I enjoyed the gelato and even though I had not ordered dessert, surprised me with a scoop to end my meal. Came here with the in laws at the last minute on a Friday night. Got there around 9:30. Our server was great and efficient. Brought us more bread when she noticed it was low, kept waters full and our drinks were great! For food, we had everything from the pizza, to the salmon, to the pork special and the bolognese. Only slight complaint was salmon was borderline over cooked, but still flavorful. Everyone else cleaned their plates and enjoyed the experience. Looks to be a good date spot as well. read more

It was Friday, we decided to eat out and wanted to try new places. We found this place. It is in Bella Bottega mall. It is quite and well decorated inside. Great wine collection. The waiter was kind of loosing his smile after I told him I didn't feel like having alcohol for the night. I picked the sea scallops which was the special. It was excellent! The scallop was well seared, juicy and sweet. The vegetables (mushrooms, carrots, brussel sprouts) was well prepared and it was a great mixed. Took the family there for my mother in law bday. Spent over 500$ and it was not good or worth that much money. My plate was 30$ and my chicken was a cold flat piece of frozen chicken. U know how u can tell cause of the cut and texture. And my food was cold. The calamari was gross over cooked a d rubbery. My friend and I ate dinner @ Blu Sardinia a couple evenings ago and had a fabulous time! The food was delicious - the portions were huge, and the service was attentive and personal. We sat in an area of the restaurant they don't normally service, but one of the wait staff, Joe, was so kind to set up a table where we wanted to sit. My friend ordered the Peroni Califlower w/a cherry pepper aioli sauce and it was tasty and filling. Both of us ordered the Funghi pizza which was incredibe - the crust was perfectly cooked, the mushroom flavor really came through and the amount of cheese was just right - plenty but not so overwhelming that it was heavy. We finished off w/desserts - I ordered the Zeppole - ricotta doughnuts rolled in sugar, which were hot from the oven and an absolutely delicious way to end the meal. Joe gave us outstanding service throughout our meal - he checked on us often, and was warm and personable. At the end of our meal, the manager dropped off our check. She was super friendly and we chatted about how wonderful Joe had been and what a great dining experience we'd had overall. We'd both definitely go back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for great Italian inspired food w/a Pacific Northwest flair! read more

I feel it is necessary to put certain restaurants into context before rating them. After all, five stars at a roadhouse in eastern Washington means something different from five stars in downtown San Francisco. (Or for that matter, the Mission vs Fisherman's Wharf.) Blu Sardinia is a #stripmallgem -- but what a gem it is! For a restaurant sandwiched between a Bartell's drugstore and a Starbucks, the food, service and atmosphere cannot be beat. The food is fresh and authentic. For the price, it is remarkably high-end in quality and seasonality. And if you and your party show up in off hours you will be treated like royalty. read more

Everything came out of the kitchen quickly and we were all happy with our food. The Seafood Pasta is delicious and perfectly cooked! The only issue we had was the temperature! There are evenings that turn out to be an experiment based on recommendations. Unfortunately this was the case, even though the venue itself has a formality provided by a very good customer service, sustained by three peculiar totems sculptures. Bringing back the subject of the cuisine, I have to say starting with the ñoquis sizing and lack of presentation behind the dishes, boring to not say unsatisfactory. I highly recommend Blu Sardinia. This is by far the best restaurant I've been to in Redmond. First of all, the owner personally came to greet our (pretty large) group which was really appreciated. We asked for our reservation to be adjusted at the last minute and every request was accommodated. Then our server was incredibly nice, efficient and helpful. A service quality not seen in a long time! Every food item we ordered was wonderful, from appetizers with real prosciutto & burrata, to the risotto and gnocchi which were very tasty. Quantities were great, we didn't feel like we overate compared to other places where you cant eat half of your food. The side brussel sprouts were very good as well. And the wine options were great. So nice that local wine was available on the menu! Finally price wise it's a great value of money. It is a bit on the pricier side but everything is more than worth it! read more

Seattle Restaurant Week Spring 2019. It was a lunch splurge/break from work, for me and glad I did it. Lovely modern decor with a warm and friendly and efficient server. I chose the creamy buratta with olives, artichoke, and toasted Ciabatta. That imported burrata was amazing and perfectly creamy. For the entrée I chose the Malloreddus bolognese. I would have preferred the bolgnese a bit more meaty and savory in flavor (it tended toward sweet), but the pasta was absolutely perfect and the bolognese was actually a good fit for a fresher lighter lunch. Strong wine list and loved to see more interesting imported wines from Sardinia (wonderful!). Food was solid. We had the pane rustica, grilled octopus (awesome), bucatini pomadoro (nice, fresh tasting, well balanced on seasoning and flavors), and the culurgionis (good concept but overly sweet -- wish it balanced with more savory flavors as the sweetness of the butternut squash, brown butter, and spiced pecans were overwhelmingly sweet). Even for the checK we had to ask some other server around. Never asked for dessert or more drinks; even water must say..just nothing. Food was bad as well. The deep fried eggplant dish was drenched and oozing oil in the mouth. Ravioli was just ok. We asked for more bread to the other server around so that we cd kill our appetite but guess what ? as expected we did not deserve that either. This is my first yelp review. I try to give the benefit of the doubt (considering Covid) and I've never felt the need to go on Yelp for a review. However, I received my DoorDash order for a Margarita Pizza and it was stone cold (pizza was made 1.5 hours before I got it)Not only that, but there was maybe 2 total basil leaves cut up. It's always a great dining experience at Blu Sardinia, from the friendly greeting upon arrival to the thank you when we leave. Our server Nicole took care of us as we dined by the bar near the pizza oven. We each tried two different craft cocktails and they were all amazing. My favorites were the Euphoria and The Manhattan Project. Wow - we had to personally thank the bartender! The others my hubby had were also great - Papa Arancio and The Legend. We shared an order of the steamed clams loaded with salsiccia in a delicious broth, a pizza topped with salsiccia, caramelized onions and ricotta on their delicious, chewy homemade crust. We had a size of charred Romanesco in a lovely garlicky olive oil. All were fantastic and filling for both of us. For dessert we each had a gelato trio, housemade by Sarah Jo. Everytime we return to Blu Sardinia we are warmly greeted by Rodrigo, the owner who is on premises to oversee his talented staff. My first dining experience at Blu Sardinia was a luncheon for work. We sat in the private dining room upstairs and I was really impressed with the food and service. I chose a Caesar salad and the risotto with shrimp. You can always tell a great Italian restaurant by their risotto and mine was amazing - so creamy and delicious. Blu Sardinia makes their own gelato and other desserts, so I tried their lemon-basil sorbet which was mind-blowing; the pairing of tart lemon and pungent fresh basil nailed it for me as the perfect ending to a great lunch. I've been back several times for lunch with colleagues and finally decided my hubby deserved experiencing their food and service, too. We've been back several times and recommend every dish - the risotto (of course), veal scallopini with a delicious lemon-butter sauce with fresh mushrooms & capers and fresh sautéed vegetables, and most recently a special braised short-ribs with sautéed fresh organic green beans and chard and a fabulous gnocchi. I love the individual wine carafes which are very attractive and contain a generous pour of wine. I also tried another sorbet that surpassed my favorite lemon-basil - a totally refreshing huckleberry-mint flavor that paired nicely with the lemon basil. Blu Sardinia gets many of their ingredients from a local forager - including herbs, mushrooms and berries. They do a great job of using local products, well-prepared and with great service. Next time we are going to try some pizzas made in the front kitchen in a large wood-fires oven. The ones we saw being served looked very good. We have dressed pretty casual but on weekend nights I will suggest hubby pulls out nice jeans and a button down instead of his favorite flannel. read more

My partner and I were going to Rifftrax at the Bella Botega cinema, so this seemed like a nice place to have a pre-cinema meal. It happened to be restaurant week and they had a special menu, which we didn't bother with. Instead, we got the standard menu. I got the filet, which was nicely cooked. For dessert, my partner and I shared a couple of scoops of gelato. The gelato was good, but there are better gelato on the east side, so it ended up being slightly disappointing. My problem, though, is the cost. This is in a strip mall, and the meal was average, but the cost was significant. I'd probably hit this place for lunch, but there are other places to go to for an evening meal. read more

When I first opened the bundles of short ribs, I was disappointed because there was no sauce. On closer inspection, there was a small amount of sauce and it was all that could ever be wanted: a dreamy veil on a pasta package of deliciousness. Then there were the donuts. College friend really wanted to try Dine Around Seattle sites on the Eastside. Coincidentally, it was decided between Ristorante Paradiso, older restaurant sibling to the newborn babe, Blu Sardinia. The latter won, so off we went armed with her car's GPS earlier for lunch 3/17/15 - Italian cuisine on St. Patrick's Day. Plusses: Nice website and Facebook site esp. the photography Ample parking Fascinating two storied, high ceiling, circular building with plenty of natural light Notable restaurant décor and fixtures - lots of glass and artistic focal points Excellent value for the three course lunch $18, great way to sample their menu Able to be seated ~11:20am without reservations Polished host who initially seated us Yelp star deductions: Initial music felt like we were in dining in a dance club. At least, the later selections were more applicable for lunch time at an Italian restaurant. Thankfully no strobe lights or spinning disco ball was deployed. Had to assist a nearby pair of older women who were curious about our first course. Evidently, we shared the same wait person who had a consistent propensity to not have a firm grasp of the menu's offerings. Details were lost in translation. Thankfully, there were some Dine Around Seattle flyers at the front host stand, of which I procured one for them. Minus half a star having to do the wait person's job. More details will be provided as I list what we had selected for lunch. We were given complimentary focaccia squares and elongated thin crackers with an assertive olive oil for dipping. Nice appearance, kind of one dimensional, but evoo saved the day. College friend enjoyed her three course selections: Starter - Arancini di Riso Fried risotto spheres with mozzarella embedded inside, atop a fresh tomato sauce and sautéed bitter greens. A trio was divided with generous shavings of reggiano parmesano. Beautiful presentation. One or two is ample, three can weigh you down. Main - Malloredus with Wild Boar Ragu Very generous pasta serving. However, the appearance of the malloredus shells really looked like grubs. Thankfully, nothing was squirming or moving about. Dessert - Vanilla Bean Panna Cotta with Fresh Berry Compote She's the panna cotta expert and the cooked Italian custard was cooked to her satisfaction. Again, the presentation of the plated dessert gets special mention. For me, my lunch initially started well, but didn't quite hit the mark overall. Starter - same arancini as above The wait person though seemed to want to hustle me along to clear the plates and to send out our entrees. I get it, serve the entrees as they come off the kitchen line. However, since I spent some time explaining menu items and Dine Around Seattle to the other customers (see above) I was lagging behind college friend. Easily I could have just stopped with focaccia with evoo and the trio of arancini. Yes, the dining room filled up during our visit, but geez don't speed your customer's pace, especially with all the other servers hovering. Good grief, that's what restaurant expeditors are for! I was starting to get a stomach ache for eating them too fast. Minus another half star. Main - Choice of Individual Pizza I chose the Quattro Formaggi (tomato sauce base with fontina, gorgonzola, mozzarella, and parmesan). At first our wait person looked at me quizzically just wanting cheese. No - the one with four cheeses and had to point that out from the main lunch menu. High expectations with the wood fired oven, but their pizzaiolo didn't quite get that blistered, even char needed on the crust. A little heavy handed on the gorgonzola too. The provided red chili flakes were rather rendered useless on this underdone creation. That was a major disappointment for me. I ate two slices and boxed the rest for home. Even the kiddo who had two more slices later after school agreed with my crust assessment. Minus another star. Dessert - Choice of House Made Gelato with Biscotti I told our server what flavor I wanted from the front freezer case - gianduja (hazelnut and chocolate). He then asked me if I wanted to go get it from the front. Seriously - and do what, hold out my palm to receive my dessert serving? I replied that I would prefer it being brought directly to the table. So the gelato was brought out with college friend's artfully presented panna cotta. But what was brought out was not gianduja, but stracciatella (vanilla with chocolate specks). After being sped along with the aracini and now the timing for the main and dessert were dragging. Major annoyance with the wrong flavor, uninspiring flavor/texture, and lackluster presentation. At least the biscotti was tasty. No offer of coffee service, a missed opportunity for a restaurant upsell. This would have been welcomed to ease that arancini gut bomb. College friend was being lulled into a food coma. Nice ambience in Bella Bottega. Upscale Italian. We ordered Caesar salad, mushroom risotto, and sea scallops. The house bread was nice with the olive oil, although the crispy pieces were a bit of a surprise; not my favorite. The salad was good and it was a nice touch that they split the salad for us so that we each had a plate. Main dishes arrived and we were in anticipation. They were both good but not amazing. We thought the risotto could have been cooked a bit longer but that may be a personal preference. The scallops were good but needed a bit of salt perhaps to bring out the sear. The greens and sliced cherry pieces along with the scallop and creamed cauliflower was very creative and tasty, only wish the scallop had been up to par. With Prime discount it was around $50 for two people, a good price for this quality and worthy of 4 stars. If we had paid the full $75 I might have rounded down to 3 stars. Service was good and will likely come again, looking for that wow dish we were after. read more
