We stopped in for lunch on this rainy Sunday. What a cute little cafe with a great view of the ocean. The staff were super attentive and friendly. We had steamer clams, crab and shrimp melt, crab tacos, and fish and chips. The fish was panko breaded instead of beer which makes them so much lighter. All of our entrees were beautifully plated. The crab cake was good, the crab tacos, ok at best, and the pulled pork was just nothing at all to write home about. Really cute simple type of place. The staff is friendly. They checked up on us several times. They did not neglect us just because we were sitting outside. Coffee is self served which was fine with me. I had the crab cake for breakfast and it came with their homemade tarter sauce which was one of the best part. You can taste the fresh ingredients and herbs rather than the over salted heavy cream stuff from a jar. The jam that came with the biscuits was freshly made the day before. You can tell it wasn't store bought and filled with sugar. This is a small cafe. There are probably less than a dozen tables inside. The biggest table inside seats six and there is only one of these tables. There is an outside area in the back. It has four picnic table. For larger parties, either go when they are not busy or sit outside. Outside is dog friendly. They have a water bowl for dogs. We sat outside. No view of the beach from outside tables but it was a nice day. The buildings blocked any wind that would have come from the water so it wasn't cold. No cell or data reception for AT&T users in this spot. I borrowed unlocked wifi nearby for a little time to check emails however my companions with Verizon did not have any luck doing the same. We came for breakfast and had the crab cakes... WOW. We've never had crab cakes so flaky, buttery and just plain awesome. They were so good we came back the next day for them and ordered pretty much all of their options for tacos (fish, shrimp, and pulled pork), and those were just as impressive. Very fresh and flavorful. We loved the low-key atmosphere and of course the ocean view. The restaurant is small, intimate, and charming. We are making this a favorite spot for our coastal adventures! read more

What a great find! Came to Tillamook for the cheese but needed to eat some lunch first. Since two of us are gluten free, it can be tough. We took the extra time to drive the beautiful little drive to here. This place was absolutely delicious and so worth the trip. They made me crab tacos and my daughter had the seafood Cobb salad. Both were GF and outstanding. My DH and younger daughter split a chicken and bacon sandwich (not GF) which was also tasty. Would recommend to everyone. And the view is pretty awesome too! read more

Ate lunch one day and went back for breakfast the next. Friendly service and it was obvious that the food was thoughtfully prepared...so yummy! We were filled up for a day of hiking. The wait was extremely long, however it was worth it! The crab amd shrimp melt was one of the best I've ever had, amd the clan chowder had tons of clam and was also amazing. My wife and I spent the weekend at Cape Meares and found this lovely little restaurant in Oceanside, where we arrived hungry after a little hike out to the point of Cape Lookout. We had lunch about 3:00 pm on Saturday, August 26, and both chose fish and chips. We agreed that they were just about the best we had ever eaten. Because of that, we returned the next morning (today) for breakfast, which is unusual for us. My wife had crab cakes and eggs, a combination she said didn't really appeal to her, but she does love crab cakes. The Blue Agate Cafe has changed her mind, as she said it was a delicious combination, largely due to how wonderful the crab cakes were. I had a breakfast burrito, which was cooked to perfection and placed on the grill for just a moment, which served to take away the stickiness that flour tortillas often have when just heated and wrapped around something. The cook knew what he was doing, as the tortilla didn't come across as fried or crunchy. It was just right. As others have said, fix your own coffee (great idea) and the service was just a little bit slow, but worth it. We didn't have to wait in line either time as we would for food not even as good as this in Portland, so a few extra minutes enjoying the coffee and beautiful view of the Pacific were well worth it. The staff here is friendly (the waitress remembered us from the day before and greeted us like old friends, and the cook, out to get some coffee, said, "how ya doin' today, man?") and we felt very comfortable there. The cute 16 or 17 year old waitress wouldn't even discuss how "hoppy" the Hefeweizen was with an inquiring customer a table over, telling him "I'm not old enough!" So she went and got the cook, who answered all beer-related questions. What a nice little place! We will return! read more

Friendly, fast service. Had breakfast there and I loved the home style fried potatoes. I especially liked that they do not add onions to them like so many places do. They were the perfect mix of crisp and soft potatoes you get when cooked in a cast iron skillet. We went there because of the reviews on the biscuits. I was disappointed when I saw them as they were very white, not the nice golden color you would expect. However they had a great texture and flavor. Would definitely go back again. read more

A delightful cafe beside a beautiful beach access. Plenty of parking nearby in early October. We enjoyed two orders of fish tacos and one bowl of clam chowder. The food was very fresh and well flavoured. Great value and enjoyable. We stopped by on our way to the Cape Meares lighthouse. Not the best place to stop if you are towing a travel trailer. A great day trip from Nehalem Bay State Park. Do the Tillamook Cheese factory and then come here! read more

Stopped by here around 11AM going down the Oregon coast on our west road trip. Quaint, local cafe with a beautiful view on the ocean. Lunch isn't served until 11:30, so my wife ordered the crab cake breakfast and I decided to go with the biscuits and gravy. The 2 crab cakes were good size, virtually no filler and came with eggs, potatoes and toast. Not being a huge biscuits and gravy fan, I must say that these were the best biscuits I've ever eaten. Light, fluffy and the sausage gravy was outstanding. Huge portion also. Coffee was a help-yourself deal and service was excellent. Love these little local places. read more

I went here with friends and my husband for my bday dinner, we sat in the patio which was pet friendly. It was their second night serving dinner and we couldn't have been more pleased. All of our meals were delicious and well portioned (enough to feel substantial but not gross). The salads were very fresh and the homemade dressings super tasty. My friend and I stopped at the Blue Agate Cafe looking for food and a bathroom and a place to sit. We visited during Phase 1 of re-opening from Covid19. We were hungry and grubby and not from the area. But, we were met with eyes smiling from behind a mask and immediately felt at ease. After our order was placed, I asked about using the restroom facilities. I was met at the back door with a squirt of hand sanitizer so, mask on, I took care of my needs and washed with soap and running water, for 20 seconds, twice. We were offered outdoor seating in a pretty little back courtyard sheltered from the wind and full of blooming flowers. The food was absolutely delicious. I ordered the house made veggie burger and, as a connoisseur of veggie burgers, this was easily one of the best I have ever had. The service was friendly and just made me feel easy and welcome. Lunch yesterday was a delightful culinary and social experience. I highly recommend this small eatery to anybody wishing to be treated as family in all the best ways. Thank you. read more

This a hidden gem in Oceanside. I had the special, shrimp tacos and a side of fries. It was beautifully presented and delicious as it looked. Everything was prepared fresh. The fries are the best I've ever had, anywhere. Just the right amount of crispy and the seasoning, oh just heaven. The next morning we went back for breakfast. It was super busy but the staff were organized and unfailingly polite. The Sea Garden burrito has a variety of sautéed vegetables that were cooked to perfection. My husband and I shared an order of pancakes. The texture was just right, not too soft but with the right amount of firmness. Sooo good. I'm planning on going back tomorrow morning. read more

As for a previous review that the nearest food was 30 minutes away, the review apparently missed Brewin' in the Wind and Roseannas, both less than a leisurely two-minute walk away. read more

This is one of my favorite spots every time I visit Oregon coast. Good breakfast and lunch for good price! This awesome cafe located right in front of the beach of Oceanside, OR. It's a bummer that they're not open for dinner (Close at 2:00pm). The fish taco is my personal favorite. Definitely check this place out at least once. read more

This is a GREAT place for breakfast! The pancakes and biscuit were light and flavorful, the sausage was very high quality, the potatoes were delicious, and the dark roast coffee was strong and fresh.
