    Delicious Bloody Mary
    Melissa H.

Reason for a four star is out of our party of five, my order was made incorrectly. I didn't say anything, due to not wanting it to be an issue. Other than that, everything was wonderful! Bloody Mary's we AMAZING!!! They make them with saké and wow, delicious. Our server was great, very friendly and not overly pushy or anything. We got a few harvest omelets that were more like a scramble, a few avocado toasts that were enjoyed and a senior breakfast. Everyone enjoyed everything. The ambiance was enjoyable, and they were somewhat busy but we felt well taken care of.

Our party of 7 came here for a late breakfast while on our way to the airport. Called ahead and made reservations (thank goodness) as this was a hot spot!! After checking in the nice, bubbly hostess let us know that the kitchen was a little behind due to a few employees being out I'll. That was fine, we still had time. We ordered, classic mimosas (freshly squeezed OJ) for the adults and specialty hot chocolates for the littles. I ordered the chorizo omelet with house potatoes and sourdough toast, it was delicious!! The restaurant was very busy, all employees were hustling and worked together as a well trained team. We definitely will be back when visit the area again. Highly recommend making reservations.

Blew me out of the water. Didn't even know this place existed. The decor and atmosphere is simple yet beautiful and comforting. The service was absolutely amazing. My server was Cynthia B and she did a great job attending to my table and refilling drinks when needed!! The food was the cherry on top. It tasted the way it looked Delicious!! 5/5 for me!!

Inside out: place is cute and well decorated inside and out. Service: fast and friendly. Food: now I'm not sure about the rest of the menu, but my grandma and I were floored at the prices in the worst way, and the portions were dismal. The quality was mid at best. It seemed like a really over priced and just over all underwhelming experience, but I'm not here to yuck other peoples yums!

Breakfast sandwich (missing a bite) with hash browns

My friend and I ate brunch here last week while visiting Boise. It was such a cute place with eclectic decor that made it even cuter! Our server was very nice and efficient. I had the Breakfast Sandwich with hash browns and a cinnamon roll and oh, my goodness...everything was delicious!! The brioche bun just made the whole sandwich even tastier. I could only eat a couple of bites of the cinnamon roll, but it was full of gooey cinnamon-y goodness. I would definitely recommend giving this place a try...you won't be sorry!!

Super cute place and excellent service. Beyond that, not much to write home about. Personally, I don't mind relatively high prices if the food is high quality but this was not the case. I ordered the basic two egg breakfast and a coffee which was roughly $25, with tip included. I ordered over hard eggs, they came over medium at best. The bacon was not freshly cooked and lukewarm at best. The fruit was decent but not super fresh. The biscuit and gravy were ok but lacked flavor. But again, the decor/ambiance is very well done and the waitresss'/staff did a great job. Great coffee with flavored creamer and country music playing so that's a plus. This place could have a line out the door but they'll need to ensure their food matches their prices. Food quality is paramount; no one cares if the decor isn't aesthetically pleasing so long as the food is amazing. Bring the food quality up and I'll be back to give this place 5 .

    Wild garlic potatoes

I use to love the huck house location but that one is permanently closed. I've only been to this one a few times but I have always loved the menu since they had chicken sausage. Today we went in and didn't find out that they have stopped carrying the chicken sausage until we tried to order brunch. I feel like that should have been disclosed when we got the menus since chicken sausage is still clearly on the whole menu. I also always get wild garlic potatoes and I feel like this time they were definitely lacking in the garlic compared to previous times. The service was ok but water wasn't refilled unless asked for it, over easy egg was forgotten about until asked and the chicken sausage issue should have been disclosed. I'm glad you can reserve ahead and put yourself on the waitlist but it's definitely not the same place it use to be.

    Fig and cheese omelette

I'm shocked this place has 4 stars. I think they're doing way too much. If they shrank the menu and worked on mastering the basics, I think it has potential! It's very cute and cheery inside but the food left a lot to be desired. I got the fig and cheese omelette; unfortunately those flavors did not work as well as I thought they would. My potatoes and pancakes were also cold. Our waitress did comp the dish but I still wasn't thrilled with the overall service. Perks: reservations for large groups and cinnamon roll bread pudding in a mason jar.

This is a top tier breakfast/brunch establishment! They have so many great food options and also provide a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. They are known for their mimosas, which are delicious! They also have great drip coffee and lattes to choose from. The price point here is a little higher than other breakfast places, but I believe that the cost is worth the fresh food that you receive. I ordered the ham renaissance omelet, which is stuffed with sharp white cheddar cheese and prosciutto, it was so good! All of their meals come with a ton of food and various options for sides. This restaurant can get fairly busy so I would highly recommend making a reservation, especially on the weekends!

I have been here and their sister restaurant (Huck House) probably a dozen times. So clearly I like this place. The staff is always super friendly which is nice because they are often packed. They have reduced their large menu due to keeping food fresh and available. Price point is higher than other breakfast places but food quality is better and you will certainly get two meals out of any entree. Give Blue or Huck a try!

The worst wait I've ever experienced. We sat down and two others tables that sat down thirty minutes after us were served. 2 hour wait

Our server Audrey, deserves a medal -- total sweetheart, total pro, and unfazed by a swarm of kids. I went for the salted caramel banana bread French toast, and wow. Thought it wouldn't fill me up, but it absolutely did... plus I sampled half the table because everything looked too good not to. Marlene's Loaded Idaho Potato Nachos? Spicy, bold, and ridiculously tasty. Coffee? Strong and smooth. The prices were so low I thought they misprinted the menu, and then the portions came out and confirmed we'd officially scored. Of course it's our last day in Idaho and we finally find the best breakfast spot.

I usually pay $3.00 for coffee and this was $3.75, but it's definitely not a deal breaker. Service was spot on, always refilled my coffee and checked if I was doing well. I got a booth which was clean and comfortable. It was kinda busy for a Tuesday at 930, but they take your number and text you when ready. Waited about ten minutes. I got the breakfast burrito with red sauce. I get the wet burrito quite often and was actually surprised to see the sauce on the plate and not poured over the burrito. But, try it and see. The only problem with sauce on the plate is not enough sauce. Next time I'll just ask them to put sauce on top. Bathroom was clean and stocked, but seat was broken off on one side. Minor issues, would go back for sure.

From the letter on door: "As many know, there has been a significant slowdown in consumer spending, especially in restaurants starting late 2024. We've done our very best to keep prices in line with what makes sense to cover costs and provide full benefits for our amazing staff," the letter said. "However, with sales down across all entities this year, we must re-evaluate our operations and make the necessary difficult decisions to be a sustainable business. Also, for the first time in many years, we recently lost two key people in our organization, and they both were a large part of what made Wild Root special. I came here for a late lunch around 2 pm after arriving in Boise. They weren't crowded at this point but business wasn't dead either. My waitress was very friendly. Inside has a lived-in, intimate feel, but it was pretty dark, so much that I wasn't sure they were actually open as I was opening the door. I had the French dip sandwich with a side of tomato basil soup. The sandwich was delicious and tasted homemade in the best way. The "meat" of the sandwich was seitan. I don't THINK it was a perfect meat replica (but I've never had a real French dip), but it was very flavourful. I loved the flavour and the thick cut of their bread, but it didn't have much structure and fell apart easily as I was eating which made the sandwich very messy. The tomato basil soup was a little different. It was slightly creamy but brothy and a little chunky - not a smooth puree. Again, it tasted great and was nice and light, which was a good contrast to the very rich sandwich. It was a little slow, especially considering they weren't that busy. I didn't really mind since I wasn't on a schedule, but this is something to be aware of - don't come here for a quick meal. Not cheap, but worth it for the quality.
